Amazing hostel with excellent service. Location near Chinatown and public transit is awesome. The staff is extremely friendly and have cool artwork plus good music playing all the time. Hostel had a funny zombie theme and cool decor. Very clean and comfortable. Every room was cared for. Cold AC and free drinks in the lobby. Jim and Ping drew their own map of places to go and there recommendations were great for food! Bathrooms were clean and serviceable. Large lockers for valuables and suitcases also there. They kept our luggage and let us shower too the day we left on a night bus. Free breakfast daily and fast internet. Some improvements like more hooks to hang clothes in the bathrooms, and bathrooms could get slippery if wet. Great location and staff and excellent place to sleep and stay!

Wow. This place is amazing! The attention to detail and artistic talents of Jim and Ping are amazing. From the style of the establishment to the willingness to help with your travels, this hostel stay provided more than just a place to rest your head at night, but a place to learn more about Thai culture, language, history. I could not help but be in awe at the design of the hostel itself as well as the many pieces of art in the rooms and bathrooms. We loved the funny touches with the art. The beds were so comfortable (the sheets were so soft and the comforter was so comfortable). There was even a hotdog pillow to hug. Again, the little things went a long way for us. Everything was clean, bathrooms were great, and we definitely felt safe along with our belongings. We stayed in the private queen, but from the pictures of the shared bunks, those looked comfy as well. I enjoyed the stay at this hostel more than some hotels I’ve been too. This place deserves to be way more popular or at least more known, but then it wouldn’t be a secret, would it? ;) I wish we had more time here in Thailand. Next time we visit, we will definitely be staying at this secret place. Shhhhhh. :))

We had the best hostel experience! Stayed 6 days and loved each day. We had a private room on the second floor. The floor is shared with busy one other room so sharing the two showers and one toilet was never an issue. The property has an industrial cool feel to it but also very warm and inviting. We always looked forward to returning to our Bangkok "home" after a long day of sightseeing in the 90 degree weather. The breakfast in the morning is basic, an egg toast and sausage with instant coffee, but it's all we needed to get fueled up and they serve until 11, so sleeping in wasn't a problem like some places. The laundry service saved us so much time also. It was same day drop off and return and always was fresh and clean. The real stars of our stay was the staff. I want to express my deep thanks to them. Any question we had, advice for food, or ideas for sites they always had a smile and an answer. When returning from long days on the train to see monkeys in Lopburi, the staff greeted us like old friends to ask us about the trip while I got a cold beer from the fridge. I will stay here over much more expensive hotels with more accommodations when I'm in Bangkok again. Don't let the word hostel scare you, our secret base is closer to a Bed and Breakfast.... you just share a shower.

Really cool hostel to stay, in the heart of china town! The staff are friendly (and they are actually the owners of the place)! The hostel is modern, stylish, and clean! The bed spacious and comfortable! The street where it lies, is very quiet, yet, close to transportation and other interesting spots. A bit more expensive than some others around, it's worth the difference.

Gosh, I love this place. Ping and Jim are the wonderful artists who run it, and they do an amazing job making you feel welcome and helping you orient yourself to the area. The hostel is very clean, comfortable, and charming. It is seconds away from all the delicious street food of Chinatown and minutes away from the MRT train line, so it is easy to get anywhere else in bangkok that you might want to go. Our Secret Base checked all of the boxes for what I want in a hostel and then some. Highly recommended!

Great place to start my trip. really friendly owners, had a lot of fun with them and they did their best to make your stay very comfortable (thanks a lot for learning me some Thai words). A quiet, nice and clean hostel on a good location. Would definitely recommend it!

They went above and beyond to help us with our lost luggage. they handled the contact with the airline company and kept us up to date on the progress. Had a lovely stay and a fun night with live music and good local beers! the owners are knowledgable about bangkok and know good places to eat & drink. beds were great, AC in the room, and the facilities were clean. the place has a really cool atmosphere with cool artwork. they even drew their own map of the chinatown area! I can 100% recommend you to stay here!

PERFECT: air conditioning, comfort, nice placement, clean and cheap price! The guys at the reception are so nice and recommend very nice places to go around Chinatown. Everything is clean and the ambiance is so friendly with other guests and staff. I strongly recommend to sleep there if you want to be in Bangkok Chinatown for some nights.

👍 It's one of those cool places that is worthwhile visiting, but not jaw dropping. Food items are of a certain good quality level, but there are definitely better alternatives elsewhere. What I really liked about this cafe is the quirky sitting arrangement. The modular up-down set up, is brilliant an...

👍👍 Cannot recommend enough. Located in a quiet side street and up the stairs of an old junkyard. So many different coffee options it was hard to choose. Was given options of different beans to smell to help me decide! The affogato was the best I’ve ever had, and the coffee (latte on the rock) although...
