Really nice hostel in a great location. Nice guests, nice staff, and a wonderful rooftop overlooking the temple. The aircon also works well in the room and the bed was comfy. Unfortunately I slept through breakfast every day but others told me it was quite good. Only thing was that you must bring your own lock for the lockers!

The hostel was really clean and organized and has a nice design and mood. There are lockers and the bedroom's doors are opened through key card. The beds have curtains, good pillows and mattresses and air con 24h. The staff was really attentive and kind offering help and information! The breakfast is offered in the hotel next to the hostel and is really complete. There's a kitchen and refrigerator on the first floor and a laundry machine on the terrace.

Great value for the price. The breakfast buffet alone is worth the 9 usd per night I paid. Nice roof lounge and good beds

I stayed here from April 12-17, 2023 during my first visit to Thailand. The place exceeded my expectations despite the room being small but the bed was comfortable and my belongings were safe. The location, though far from the city center in Bangkok, is near Sam Yot MRT and is very safe even during the night time.

I stayed here from Sept 11 till Sept 14. My stay in Issara was really enjoyable, comfortable and the staff was welcoming especially the lady in the reception. She was really helpful and showed exceptional service during my stay. She was very humble, always smiling, kind and polite. She provided me with all the information during my stay. Thanks to her!💎 She was totally amazing 😻😍 💯⭐️ They have a lovely coffee Shop, named Alice Cafe. Their coffee was amazing 🤩 The best coffee in Bangkok. Overall, my stay was absolutely perfect! Room was clean, provided my request during my stay. Bed was so comfy and shower gel and shampoos smells fantastic! Absolutely Recommended! 💎

Great location - staff very helpful. I actually was feeling uncomfortable in my mixed dorm room (I’m female solo traveler) and asked the staff if I can change my room during my last night of stay. They immediately helper me with the room change. Down side is a lot of noise, and only one shower for each floor. Given the number of people staying in the hostel (especially ladies taking longer time), it really isn’t enough. But good for short stay in general

Clean, modern rooms with comfortable beds. Beautifully designed interior. I would give it 5 stars but the staff have poor English and they no longer do free breakfast for guests despite it saying they do on their profile. Also, they don't accept card for some reason?? Would recommend for travelers looking for affordable comfort at a central location.

This is probably the best hostel I've stayed at in Thailand so far. I particularly loved the comfortable beds! Only downside is the room was a bit small. And the laundry machine on the rooftop didn't work. But overall had a great stay and would definitely stay again.

A good hostel, not to close to Khaosan Road but definitely not far. The area is quiet and the hostel is clean. There is a nice rooftop with good view and you can cool down at a swimming pool. Breakfast is very good but not included. The 4 person dorms are a bit small but the beds are good.

We had a good stay in this hostel. Very good placement near to the metro and bus stop and yet very calm at night. The room was clean and the bed very spacious. Shower and toilet clean.

Great location, walking distance to khao san road and good facilities - washer and kitchen, and good breakfast. However don’t expect any day light in the bedroom if you book a private room the window is to the common area so you have to keep the curtains closed 24/7 and in the dorms there is just no windows. Also expect noise from the common area in your bedroom during the night from people talking, there are signs to keep the noise down after 9pm but because the doors are only slide doors and don’t close properly you’ll get woken up from anyone talking if you’re a light sleeper.

We stayed for a 3 night stretch coming off 14 hours of travel from London. Great place to relax and get rid of your jet lag. Pool is lovely, our private room was great (the a.c was 10/10) staff are friendly and always aim to please. Food and drinks at the restaurant are a bit pricey compared with options outside but the seating area and convenience makes it worth it for those who don’t want to walk around all day. Location is great - 15 minutes walk from the royal temple, 20 minutes from Khoasan Road, 7-11 2 minute down the road. WiFi is also fast and reliable and good amount of relaxing and communal areas

Rooms are amazing. Air-conditioned, clean, spacious and clean toilets. Roof top with a beautiful view of the temple and perfect location to catch a sunset. It would be great if they had bigger lock storages though.

Pros. Reasonable price and comfy bed hostel. Good breakfast and pool. And kind assistants. Cons. If you stay in the room right attached road is quiet noisy. You need earplugs. One shower for one gender on each floor.

I’ve stayed here a few months ago and I still remember the people I’ve met! The facilities are actually pretty clean, compared to some of the hostels I’ve visited in Bangkok. The rooftop is fantastic, though there are mosquitoes at times. I didn’t even know there was a pool — but there is! The staff were also really helpful, and the cafe below serves some really cool drinks. Khao San road is a walkable distance away as well. I remember watching the world cup with my buddies, and stumbling back to the hostel. I might actually head back there for my next visit to the Khao San area!

Booked for 4 people to stay in a 4 bed dorm but on arrival told we had to be separated into 2 rooms (2 in one and 2 in another). Travelled for 3 months stayed in 20 hostels and never been separated. Poor planning from the hostel, why couldn’t the 2 groups of 2 been put in one room and us in another? We left to stay elsewhere.

Clean, wide twin beds, very cool interior design, can hear the street outside but it’s a not busy street so it’s mostly just occasional motorcyclists cruising by, next to a little river connecting right to the big river, nice bed in between soft and firm, light and outlet (C type) inside the bed cubicle, tap card keys for access to rooms. Many floors, lovely rooftop and views, was stunned.

Loved this hostel! The beds were the best, most comfortable beds I’ve stayed in probably in any hostel. The hostel itself is clean, beautiful and modern. The rooms are a bit small but that’s pretty much the only downside. This definitely isn’t a social or party hostel but if you’re looking for a nice place to get some rest, then you’ll love staying here.

This hostel as treated us well when going through Bangkok! Clean and friendly staff. Would recommend paying a little more and getting the breakfast.

The hostel is near the famous temples: Wat Pho, Wat Arun and Grand Palace. It's a few minutes walk to Khao San road. On the east side it's 10-15 minutes walk to Golden Mount. It's also 16 minutes walk to the nearest MRT Station Sam Yot. I also like that there's a cafe on the ground floor - Alice Cafe, the food and drinks are really good! The staff is also cleaning every day. The two girls in the reception are really helpful and they are cheerful. They do their best to explain in English when I ask where can I go for the Loy Krathong festival.

It's my 3rd time stay here. Easy checkin, clean room, can walk to khaosan road. surrounded by some Thai temples. At the roof top, you could see the night view. The price also nice. one issue,i woke up by the car running on road.

Issara is basically a hot girl, great to look at, but not so great in function. The lounge area: The metal front is iconic, unfortunately it's also made of metal which turns the lounge into an OVEN, now add constant road noise and vehicle exhaust. Congratulations, your lounge is located on the HIGHWAY. The lounge area needs to be enclosed in an insulated, sound resistant glass shell with a STRONG AC. The beds:  the beds are AMAZING, except the TOP bunk doesn't go all the way to the wall, so you're CONSTANTLY dropping things. A thick flat polished piece of wood that goes snuggly against the wall would help fix this. Restaurant:  the restaurant is nice, it's not really in line with the backpackers lifestyle.  Perhaps a 2nd restaurant could be added in back for regular backpackers? Rooftop: There's basically nothing to do on the rooftop lounge other than laundry and it is also flooded with road noise and air pollution.  There isn't enough seating to hang out, there's nowhere to cook, for example a small kitchen area, they don't even have outdoor furniture, just a large couch that is often soaked, there's just nothing up there but an empty roof with a washer dryer. Pool: the pool is under construction. Hostel Management: despite being almost completely empty, Issara crams everyone into a single room. At other hostels they asked you if you wanted to be with other people or not. Culture: Basically Issara has no culture, at all.  No one wants to hang out in the HOT, Loud, Polluted Lounge. During the day it's often too loud even to have a convo, much less watch tv. There's nothing to do on the roof, so no one hangs out there either. Summary: They need to address a lot of issues before Issara will be a cool place to hangout.

Hostel is modern but definitely not a social hostel if you're looking for that. Rooms and beds are good. Washing machine seems to break frequently as the staff said 'it's not working again?". 60baht for a wash and 10-20 for drying. Three floors and the bathroom area is the first thing you'll see coming up the stairs. There's no trash cans in the rooms so you'll see everyone's trash flowing out of the one trash can on each floor. Not the best view when walking up. No free breakfast unless you purchase a room with breakfast. Not "free" breakfast. They don't quite seem to understand that concept. Customer service is alright. I've had so many friendly hostel owners in other parts of Thailand so this place seems mediocre in comparison. It's satisfactory. You pay for the quality and modernity. Everything else can be done better elsewhere. Location is okay--staying near Khao San Road is the best move imo, so this is quite a ways away. But you have quick access to the palace.

Wow, that was a catch for small money! Very close to the palace and wat pho. Totally recommended. Clean, nice, modern, huge beds with curtain, lockers, washing machiene, roof terrace. And the best thing - buffet breakfast with bread, cereals, pancakes, rice, meat, fruit, juice, tea and coffee. And fresh salad! We were stufffed! Very helpful staff - they called the station for us to inquire about trains and printed our boarding passes too! Thanks for an amazing stay in Bangkok guys, great job.

Stayed for a week in a 4-bed dorm. I LOVED this place. Friendly staff (some of whom could speak good English), clean, modern, quiet. The beds were excellent and nicely enclosed. No lockers in the room (they were by the stairs), but I didn't find that a problem. Towels and shower toiletries provided. An awesome rooftop perfect for morning yoga and evening sundowners. The front desk even had a yoga mat they lent me every morning. and DIY laundry up there too (THB 60 for a full load, as many kg as you like, and extra for the dryer). On top of the room rate you can pay an extra THB 100 for the breakfast buffet, and it is so worth it. Just delicious! They even made me vegan versions of the food on request. I was so painfully stuffed every morning. I was a walk-in, and when I asked them if their displayed room rate was the best price they could offer me, they immediately lowered it for the first night...and then said if I liked it and stayed longer, the rate would be reduced again! When I tried to book for longer straight up, they told me to just test it out, in case I didn't like it. They said if I wanted to extend, there was definitely availability. Such great service.

I booked this hostel because someone in another review said it was the best hostel he's ever stayed in. After staying 3 nights here, I would agree. It's a hostel with the comfort of a hotel. It's exceptionally clean, quiet, great location in a quiet area but walking distance to many temples (reclining Buddha at Wat Pho is amazing), Grand Palace, Khaosan Road for partying. The beds are big and comfortable and have curtains for privacy. Front desk speaks good English and are very kind. Toilets and showers are beautifully clean. My room even had a view of the beautiful temple nextdoor! 100% recommendable, will stay here on my next visit to Bangkok!

The hotel is perfect to stay in Bangkok. It‘s located right, in front of a beautiful temple that you can see for free. The views from the bed are amazing!!! the bedrooms and the bathrooms are always very clean. The hall is very cool and the workers are very friendly. If I return to Bangkok I will definitely be staying here again.

BEST VALUE for your money and you get almost exact same experience with those at the hotel. Receptionists are really nice and very helpful, the rooms are clean and well maintained shower and restrooms. I can't think of any complain, everything was great specially the buffet breakfast which I always look forward to every morning. Love the quava juice— superb! I will DEFINITELY stay at this hostel again when I visit Bangkok.
