I
loved
cafe
hopping
while
living
in
Melbourne.
So
when
I
heard
that
the
cafe
scene
in
Bangkok
is
pretty
good,
I
couldn't
pass
up
the
chance
to
have
a
meal
at
least
once
in
one
of
the
much
talked
about
cafes
in
Bangkok
during
my
recent
holiday.
I
chose
to
being
my
family
to
One
Ounce
for
Onion,
a
hipster
cafe
in
Ekkamai.
Its
tucked
inside
the
residential
area,
hundreds
of
metres
away
from
the
main
road,
and
the
only
way
to
get
there
is
via
Grab
or
Taxi.
We
arrived
for
a
late
breakfast,
and
to
our
surprise,
we
were
the
only
customers
at
that
hour.
This
was
also
before
the
opening
hour
for
their
adjoining
clothing
store
'Onion'
so
perhaps
we
were
in
between
the
breakfast
and
lunch
crowds.
After
all,
this
is
not
a
place
dependant
on
usual
foot
traffic.
If
you
have
space
and
time
for
only
one
dish,
then
the
one
to
have
is
the
grilled
croissant.
It
is
Da
Bomb.
The
croissant
is
buttery,
flaky,
and
comes
with
a
house-made
spicy
tomato
sauce
added
with
minced
pork
and
egg
yolk,
which
you
can
dip
the
sliced
grilled
croissant
in.
It's
soooo
umami.
It
was
so
good
we
had
to
order
a
second
bowl.
The
scones
with
Greek
yoghurt
and
pineapple
jam
is
amazing
too.
And
what
is
a
cafe
without
amazing
coffee?
The
coffee
here
ticks
the
right
boxes.
Just
for
that
hour
or
so,
we
felt
like
we
were
back
in
Melbourne.
Oh...
And
the
staff
are
pretty
chill
and
a
rather
good
looking
bunch
too!
