Asiatique
the
Riverfront
was
an
old
riverside
port
that
went
abandoned
until
the
April
of
2012
when
it
was
turned
into
an
open-air
mall
with
access
to
a
shuttle
port.
I
personally
live
very
close
to
the
area
and
as
such,
I
have
been
very
excited
to
see
a
tourist
attraction
open
up
very
close
to
my
home.
This,
however,
resulted
in
the
traffic
around
the
area
being
considerably
worse
when
it's
tourist
season.
Nevertheless,
I
have
visited
Asiatique
many
times,
either
to
have
dinner
at
the
many
restaurants
there
or
to
take
my
friends
on
a
scenic
tour.
The
nightscape
of
the
area
is
colorful
and
bustling
with
people.
Even
during
the
COVID
pandemic,
there
are
still
groups
of
people
gazing
around
the
riverside.
The
cargo
depots
have
been
converted
into
market
space
for
vendors
to
set
up
shop
and
sell
their
wares,
chain
restaurants,
and
other
attractions.
There
is
a
theater
that
hosts
Muay
Thai
fights
and
other
shows.
The
place
is
filled
with
many
attractions
akin
to
a
carnival.
There
are
carousels,
upsized
chess
boards,
and
statues
that
come
and
go
almost
every
time
you
visit.
You
could
almost
describe
these
areas
as
magical.
Of
course,
the
most
visible
landmark
of
this
establishment
is
the
Ferris
Wheel.
A
ride
on
the
giant
wheel
will
be
an
experience
that
will
stick
with
you
for
a
very
long
time.
Reaching
Asiatique
can
be
done
by
land
or
by
water.
The
mall
is
located
on
Charoenkrung
road.
The
road
can
be
very
busy
on
weekends
and
holidays
but
is
generally
free
on
weekdays.
Traveling
by
water
is
a
unique
experience
you
should
try
out.
The
port
is
connected
to
the
Chao
Phraya
River
ferry
boat,
you
can
travel
to
Asiatique
from
any
of
the
ports
along
the
Chao
Phraya
River.
As
with
any
place
you
travel
to
in
Thailand,
you
need
to
be
aware
of
your
surroundings.
Keep
your
bags
in
sight
at
all
times
and
check
your
belongings
periodically.
Research
in
advance
to
avoid
scammers
and
take
a
tour
guide
with
you
if
you
can.
Overall,
a
trip
to
Asiatique
the
Riverfront
is
an
amazing
experience
that
I
recommend
anyone
traveling
to
Bangkok
to
visit.
It
provides
a
great
shopping
and
dining
experience
and
the
view
along
the
riverside
is
an
amazing
sight
to
behold
at
night.
An
awesome
place
you
must
try
along
your
trip.
