I
recently
stayed
at
the
Arawana
Regency
Hotel
in
Bangkok
for
a
five-day
trip,
and
I
must
say
that
my
experience
fell
far
short
of
my
expectations
based
on
the
photos
I
had
seen
online.
The
reality
of
the
hotel
was
quite
different
from
the
enticing
images
portrayed.
Upon
our
arrival,
we
were
given
a
room
that
had
a
strong
damp
smell,
which
was
quite
unpleasant.
To
make
matters
worse,
there
were
no
toiletries
provided,
and
it
took
multiple
requests
before
we
were
given
a
small
amount
of
shampoo
and
body
wash,
in
a
water
bottle,
no
less.
This
lack
of
attention
to
basic
amenities
was
disappointing.
Throughout
our
stay,
we
encountered
numerous
issues
with
the
room.
The
toilet
often
had
trouble
flushing
properly,
and
the
shower
had
a
tendency
to
stop
working.
It
seemed
that
the
hotel
was
aware
of
these
problems
and
was
addressing
them
on
a
case-by-case
basis,
but
the
issues
should
have
been
resolved
prior
to
our
arrival.
The
television
in
the
room
offered
only
analog
channels,
which
was
a
letdown
in
this
digital
age.
The
internet
connectivity
was
another
source
of
frustration.
We
were
limited
to
using
only
two
devices,
and
even
then,
we
had
to
frequently
log
in
again,
which
was
inconvenient
and
annoying.
Breakfast
was
served
at
a
restaurant
called
Dakshin,
and
the
dining
area
was
quite
dark,
which
did
not
create
an
inviting
atmosphere.
The
quality
of
the
food
was
just
average,
and
serving
oily
and
spicy
curries
for
breakfast
was
an
odd
choice.
Due
to
the
persistent
damp
smell
in
our
initial
room,
we
requested
a
room
change.
Initially,
the
hotel
staff
claimed
that
no
other
rooms
were
available,
but
we
mentioned
health
concerns,
and
suddenly
a
room
on
the
fourth
floor
became
available.
Unfortunately,
the
staff
did
not
assist
us
with
moving
our
luggage
to
the
new
room.
While
the
new
room
was
an
improvement
over
the
first
one,
it
had
its
own
set
of
problems.
The
hot
water
temperature
was
inconsistent,
frequently
fluctuating
between
very
hot
and
the
temperature
we
had
initially
adjusted.
Moreover,
there
were
no
plug
sockets
near
the
bed,
which
made
it
inconvenient
to
charge
our
devices.
The
only
redeeming
aspects
of
this
hotel
were
its
location
and
the
rooftop
swimming
pool.
We
did
enjoy
our
time
at
the
pool,
especially
since
it
was
not
heavily
frequented
by
other
guests.
However,
there
were
signs
of
poor
maintenance
in
the
pool
area,
which
was
concerning.
In
conclusion,
I
would
not
consider
returning
to
the
Arawana
Regency
Hotel
unless
they
make
significant
upgrades
to
match
the
standards
advertised
in
their
photos.
The
hotel
has
several
issues,
from
the
rooms
to
the
amenities,
and
there
is
a
clear
need
for
improvement
to
provide
a
comfortable
and
enjoyable
stay
for
guests.
