Sharavanabhavan is a south indian vegetarian restaurant. It will be open from the morning 9.30 everyday. It is situated in silom. The major dishes serves here are different types of south india food like dosa, Masala dosa, idli, oothappam, vada etc for breakfast. Different types of North Indian veggitarian breakfast items are also available. For the lunch the best items are south indian and North indian thalis. It serves with so many curries and sweet. The tea is very special and it is very sweet and strong usually. The price for the food is reasonable. The restaurant is well maintained, neat and clean. But the service should improve when they charge for service. Most of the staff speaks Tamil, a south indian language of the state Tamilnadu, India. The parking is available in the building complex. But don't forget to validate the parking receipt at the restaurant. There is no separate wash room for the restaurant. If you want to use one, you have to use the common wash room available at the left most corner of the building complex. But it is well maintained. Since the restaurant is situated in the second floor of the building, the view it gives about the surrounding is nice and clear from a window seat. The corner seats are always special because it gives view of the main road at the front and also a side view.

Visited this restaurant for the South Indian breakfast. It serves good range of South Indian breakfast, snacks, meals and other main courses. Place inside the restaurant is spacious, clean and well maintained. Offer once placed will take 20 mins to reach your table. Prices of the dishes starts usually from 100 Thai Bahts (expensive compared to other Thai food restaurants). Plus they add 7% Service tax and 7% VAT to your bill amount. South Indian breakfast we had was really good and tasty. Worth visiting if you really miss the South Indian food or crave to have em. It's located in the First floor (above the Star Bucks).

If anyone looking for Tamil food. I would like suggest saravana bavan in Bangkok. I am totally satisfied with service and food.

We stopped in here for a late breakfast and orders the masala dosa, idli and a vegetarian thali and a Indian coffee. The dosa was delicious and the idli was nice. The Thali was okay and the mixture of things in it were very average in flavours and not something I would order again. And the coffee was abit bitter and they did not leave sugar on the table to add to your coffee if you wanted. Overall the food was nice to eat. We probably ordered two much for two of us. I put the higher score for the dosa and idli which I would come back for.

If you are staying in Silom, then this is the perfect place to have your meals, Food quality is good and you would not feel that you are out of India, Plus their charges are quite reasonable as well considering what others are charging there. There is a Holiday Inn next to this restaurant and if you are staying there then its even better and it is less than 200 meters from the hotel. There is also a 7 Eleven as a convenience store. Although their menu had different cuisines, but we only tried South Indian food, so I can vouch for that. We were there for 9 nights as a family, 2 nights we explored outside, but 7 nights we had our dinner here only because of costings and quality.

Handwashing facilities before eating are great. The waiters were great. and happy to answer questions re special dietary requirements.. Couldn't face using the outside toilet!!!! hence 3 star for atmosphere but otherwise would have been 5stars. Also, the boss puts WiFi password in your phone but won't disclose it???? odd ??? Everywhere else, it's just given.. hence.lower score for atmosphere. Come on, boss chill out. 😎

Food is good and standard taste for the special south indian meals I got for 250 baht. Service was also good if you can catch the eye of a waiter. But cleanliness and organization can be improved a lot. Lots of tables uncleaned, chair have dirt, under table food. How much does it take to promptly clean a table, chairs, and under tables once a Customer leaves? Why need to keep sitting and chatting instead of doing that when other customers walk in and experience the smells and sights not so good? Cultural problem.

I love South Indian food and have had it in India, Sri Lanka and other countries. I was not expecting an Indian meal in Bangkok to be very good ... This topped my list for best Indian meal ever. The ghee masala dosa was incredible and the mushroom biryani was fantastic. My kids don't usually like vegetarian but they were absolutely blown away by how good it was.

A couple of absolute 'novices' to Indian Cuisine 😁, so it was lucky to have found a good one to rekindle the fire for Indian food. We were specifically looking for a vegetarian place to eat... and we can definitely see ourselves being back here again soon. Googling and ordering at the same time was like being overseas... lol. The place was clean, and spacious, the staff was knowledgeable and courteous, food was good and was served with speed, price was not too bad, with 2 main dishes and one large starters (with some drinks) all came to around 400 per person. Food: 8/10, Place: 9/10, Staff: 9/10, Service: 9/10.

I never like to have to choose, so the Thali for 300 baht with 4 South Indian curries, pickle, crisp papadum, soft flat bread, rice, onion slices, lime wedge, raita (yogurt with chopped onion), and small sweet dessert is a delicious tour of flavours. One had cauliflower, another spinach, a third chickpeas, all moderately to strongly spicy (for me). Luckily I like chili. My partner would have needed to order it without any chili. I ordered a masala chai which was piping hot and delicious- although sweeter than I like, and they bring you extra sugar! The dining room is simple and elegant. Hand wash station next to the cash at the entry. Snacks (chaat) for sale opposite the cash. Staff are very friendly and efficient.there is a window into the kitchen where you can see the chefs cooking up a storm. The plates coking out of the kitchen are gorgeous- huge dosa crisp crepes filled with curries, a puffed creation that you break with filling inside. All pure vegetarian and tasty. The dining room is upstairs, there is one table on the ground floor where delivery drivers were seated upon my arrival. Those with mobility challenges are better suited to the next restaurant down the block which is smaller, but has indoor and outdoor seating without the challenge of stairs.

My friend was unexpectedly sick in the hospital and they went above and beyond to deliver South Indian food to her despite not offering any formal delivery options. I love South Indian food more than north sometimes, I love the different flavours to South Indian and I need to go to South India soon. I love dosa's, idly, sambar, vara and the use of coconut chutneys. I love that is isn't so oily and red (from over use of the Tandoori masala) Any way .... the food just kept on coming and it was all so so good! We have had such a vast variety of the food we had ordered from their extensive menu. rom the thais, to the dosas and much more .. all was very good.
