Thai chef Mc Dang characterises Thai food as demonstrating "intricacy; attention to detail; texture; color; taste; and the use of ingredients with medicinal benefits, as well as good flavor", as well as care being given to the food's appearance, smell and context. Australian chef an expert on Thai food, observes that unlike many other cuisines, Thai cooking is "about the juggling of disparate elements to create a harmonious finish. Like a complex musical chord it's got to have a smooth surface but it doesn't matter what's happening underneath. Simplicity isn't the dictum here, at all. Traditional Thai cuisine loosely falls into four categories: tom (boiled dishes), yam (spicy salads), tam (pounded foods), and gaeng (curries). Deep-fries, stir-fries, and steamed dishes derive from Chinese cooking.

Fantastic place and really impressive service but sadly to tell that the foods are quite disappointing. I came here with a lot of expectations since it’s got many good reviews and the place itself looks really beautiful, and it really is, so I believed that the foods must be very good and authentic too. We ordered 5 dishes - Ma Hor was OK, well selected pineapple, it was really sweet and juicy and the stuffing ball on the top was OK. - Cured fish with pickles: It seemed like the chef need to sharpen his knives since there were many pieces of fish that got a poor cut and the fish should have been skinned off, raw sea bass skin are tooooo tough to chew and to eat and also fishy. The sauce itself was not special and the fish was bland. - Stir fried green curry: nothing special to remember, I mean the ingredients was fine and the portion was quite big but the taste was just average. Since it was a stir fried curry so I thought it supposed to be thicker but it was just like a normal curry with less sauce. - Grilled prawn-stuffed rice and mussels sour soup: It was a confusing combination. The soup was tasty and really refreshing, the rice was perfectly cooked and well seasoned but the problem was these two thing themselves’ve already had very strong taste!!! I mean if you put these thing together on the same dish the foods were supposed to full fill and balance to each other but this one, both of them are really strong which make it really overpowered when eating together. Therefore, it was unfortunately disappointing. - Mackerel spaghetti. We were not satisfied with any foods at all by that time then we decided to order something that we thought it would be a saviour, but it was not (for us). Salted mackerel spaghetti in Thailand normally comes in spaghetti aglio e olio style so we did not expected that they will put tomato sauce in this dish but they claimed that it was their own style so I don’t think that was a problem BUT, yes but, but the taste should have been better. The sauce was quite strange and too strong for us, (just imagine that you dip anchovies with tomato ketchup) it was not that bad but not that good for us.( and this one I think was too expensive since it was 295 baht with just spaghetti and sauce and nothing else at least if you provide a piece of deep fried fish it might seem reasonable for this price) - Moo Sarong: after the spaghetti which did not save our meal but we still tried to believe that may be the deep-fried dish wouldn’t disappoint us so we ordered this Yes, it didn’t disappoint us but didn’t impress us too. The minced pork inside taste like a pork ball in AYCE suki yaki restaurant. Overall, we are really impressed with the staffs which have really good manners and high level of service mind. But seriously, with this price and with this marvellous place(buildings and location) that you’ve already had. The foods can be better.

While we had mixed experiences with hotel restaurants in Thailand, this one stood out positively. We went because of laziness and were surprised by the great taste (one of the best curries I had in Thailand), affordable prices (dinner for two around 800-1000 Baht) and good portions. We wish there were more vegetarian options, but that’s a general problem in Thailand, and the chef was flexible enough and substituted the chicken with tofu. Overall a very positive surprise in an obviously underestimated restaurant.

Classic and relaxing atmosphere in the heart of old town Bangkok. Great service (servers can speaking English), authentic Thai taste, good price, and parking available up to 40 spots. For dessert, try the seasonal fruit granita - a mix of orange based fruits - for a refreshing summer delight. You can have it all here: a resort, a restaurant, a meeting room, function area, a pool, and a spa. Highly recommended.

My good friends invited me and my wife for a family style dinner for our trip to Bangkok. We experienced a completely unique and unforgettable dinner. A very friendly staff member named “Gik” did a wonderful job explaining that we were experiencing a sort of classical Thai cuisine which was historically catered for members of the Thai Royal Family and has maintained this culinary tradition for over a hundred years. Our meal included many dishes I had never seen before (I lived in Chiang Mai for 6 years). I think this may have been one of the finest dining experiences I’ve had in Thailand and internationally as well. I would highly recommend this restaurant experience to anyone with a hunger for culture, history and of course food! Thank you Nicky, Tune and Gik! And of course complements to chef!! ขอบคุณครับ!

Just love this place. Such a little oasis with fantastic food ... however no alcohol. But in my experience the restaurant was fine with byo from the local 7/eleven

This small hotel restaurant is in the middle of the old city and close to Khao San Road. It has a relaxing environment and is surrounded by beautiful trees, making it a great place to get away from the busy city outside. On the menu, there are many real Thai foods, some of which come from old royal house recipes. There is a great selection of tasty bites, satisfying main dishes, and mouthwatering sweets. Even though the restaurant isn't very big, there may be a short wait because there aren't a lot of workers. While the cuisine is delicious, I must say that I had greater hopes for the quality of service and the use of premium silverware.

Authentic Thai cuisine which you can experiences dishes under the reigns of King Chulalongkorn (Rama V) and King Vajiravudh (Rama VI). The recommended dishes are Rice Noddle with pineapple and coconut milk, Chicken red curry (Massaman) and Mar Hor etc, a perfect blend of taste bringing in harmoniously delicate flavor. The restaurant located in Raweekanlaya Hotel.

👍👍 Undoubtedly the best Pad Thai. This beats all the others. A note of caution - since November 2021 they open for TAKE AWAY ONLY between 10am and 5pm. Get there early, we arrived not knowing this at 4:10pm and the queue was already forming. Excellent attentive and helpful staff tend to every need. The...

👍👍 We waited for 3hrs after arriving at 9:30am, and finally eat our food at 12:30. I suggest to arrive before the shop opens, maybe around 8-8:30am. The omelette is not too flavorsome, just full of crab. The fried fried rice noodle is shockingly good, the texture of the noodle itself is super stretchy,...
