Sampeng Lane Sampeng Lane Market pretty much sums up the whole shopping experience of Chinatown – and, to some extent, the surrounding Old City area; it’s hot, busy, and the narrow lanes often become overly congested with vendors selling everything from fabrics, cheap clothes and electronics. As well as the steady flow of pedestrian traffic, pushcarts, worn-out vespers and the occasional truck overflowing with fresh produce all add to the madness. But this definitively hectic nature of Sampeng is all part of the fun. Plus, this really is one of the cheapest places to come shopping in Bangkok, with impressive discounts available when you buy in bulk (10 or more items at a time gets you into wholesale territory). The most popular items to look out for are silk sarongs, jewellery, copied DVDs, women’s shoes, home décor and appliances, kids’ toys, cosmetics, handicrafts, dried food and all your usual tourist souvenirs.

Good place for shopping souvenirs and cosmetics and actually whatever, the choice is quite big. Don't rush to buy smth in the beginning, the deeper you go the cheaper are things. Good wholesale deals too. Bring your water, it's hard to find a usual 7-11 while shopping. Tip: you can go here by boat from khaosan Road for 50 baht and have kinda free River tour on the way.

Bangkok Chinatown is, in my opinion, quite underrated as a Chinatown. This one is bustling with life, and it’s an awesome mix of low quality hair bands, mid quality clothes, knock off LV purses and rather hi-end taylors… all combined with one of the best food-scenes in this world! In the heart of it all is Sampheng, which is something out of this world! Just one of the shopping streets will take me close to 4-5 hours to finish! I’m «turning Chinese» here and I am loving every second. Haggle with the sellers, they pretend they hate it, but they LOVE it! I have worked up a dozen or so «friends» among these shops which remembers me. Drink tea with the locals and promise me one thing, even if you don’t haggle; sample the local food! The food in Chinatown Bangkok is simply not on this world’s scale…it’s on a galactic scale. Enjoy this gem of a place that has rissen from Covid depression. I pledge UN to put this on a UNESCO world heritage list, this is something all future generations should enjoy!

This place can get very busy. I came at 8am when they were just opening. Lots and lots of accessories and jewellery making materials but not much of readymade necklaces. I came looking for stone and fashion jewellery but didn’t find what I wanted. It’s a shoppers paradise especially when you buy wholesale you get a good deal.

Beautiful market whole day filled with peoplr working and travelling there along with school students. It include so many places if you move around market like malls, cafe, food area, small shops inside street and price is so reasonable. Love the market in such a beautiful place with beautiful people around.

Huge market that sells almost anything any tourist and even local may need. Be prepared to spend at least half a day if you intend to cover the whole stretch. While the walkways are a little narrow, especially with motorcycles passing thru, there is a form of organised chaos in all of it. Everyone will just patiently wait for each other to move. Great place.

Best place for shopping!!! A lot of great deals and nice street food around! If there’s only one market to go in Bangkok then this should be the one.

A bustling little market in Bangkok with a great atmosphere this place is perfect for fun souvenirs. However if you see something you like buy it then as chances are you won’t be able to find the stall again. Hidden in the darkest depths of Chinatown, Sampeng feels like a doorway into another dimension. Gone is the intense midday sun, replaced with shade, colour, smells and an ever moving throng of people. We seem to be pretty much the only tourists around, everyone else was in the hunt for something (anything!), all clear in the knowledge that no matter how exotic their requirements, Sampeng would deliver. This is more of a mini wholesale market as the stalls do sell by per item or in bulk. Quite an experience to walk in the lanes to see the wares, dried food stuff and pickled food. Product quality is varying from the items. One of the best places to experience Chinatown hustle and bustle and shop for cool stuff at very good prices...and the food!!! You can reach here by taking mrt to sam yot. Not far from city centre. Sampeng market was in alley, connected block by block. Crowded and mostly local who shop here. The items here cheaper than in chatucak and some item rarely/hard to find in chatucak.. You can reach here by taking mrt to sam yot. Not far from city centre. Sampeng market was in alley, connected block by block. Crowded and mostly local who shop here. The items here cheaper than in chatucak and some item rarely/hard to find in chatucak.. Great to experience the hustle + bustle but claustrophobic! I loved coming here as there is so much to see and things are a lot cheaper than Chatuchak Market BUT there are several narrow lanes with motorbikes riding down them and a hell of a lot of people! It is a tight squeeze so if you easily feel claustrophobic I wouldn't recommend. When you are finished, you can walk 10 minutes to the pier to get a taxi boat to your next destination to avoid traffic. Otherwise using Bolt app you can easily reach your destination from there.

This market is huge, but spread over a large area. So there's a lot of walking to do. It is well known for selling fake brands, as well as almost everything else i wanted some micro switches, wire and a few LED lamps for my car. The choices were extensive.

Great wholesale market. One of the cheapest place to shop in Bangkok. Be sure to try out the mini egg cake. Need to wait for 30 min. Basic plain tee at about 100 baht. Sells lots of accessories and fabric. Great place to shop for baby and kids stuff as well

A mecca for cheap and bargain shopping. This place is a supplier for many other markets around even outside of Bangkok so wouldn't be surprising if they have the lowest price to offer. The difference between retail and bulk price is huge, luckily usually you only need to purchase 3 items minimum for it to be considered as bulk purchase. We spent almost half a day here and we only explored one alley only. Food and drinks are available scattered around this market, so you won't go hungry. Easily accessible using bus and taxi, this place is a heaven for your shopping addiction.

One of my favorite markets and it has almost everything at a very reasonable price. School stationery, Fancy Jewelry, bags, toys, shoes, etc - it's the best place for retailers! Buy over 3 or 6 pieces, you get wholesale prices Car Parking is available at nearby temples.

Pahurat and Sampheng are two old cultural areas that perfectly intersect. Pahurat is a source of various kinds of fabric and costumes, especially Thai and Indian, as well as a community that’s home to many who settled in Thailand from India, as such, it’s known as Little India. Sampheng is the area where the Chinese first settled since the establishment of Rattanakosin period . Popular wholesale and retail goods on sale include accessories, fashion clothes, toys, plus lots more.

This market is a unique one that you can see cheap products to buy. Due to various options from different item types, you will get as much as you can to compare before making decision. Crowded areas, but need to be under health measures to protect yourselves and others. There are several parking lots nearby here with cheap price per hours.

Sampheng market has lots of souvenirs and gift items. Has so many shops. Unimaginable too many! As usual, there were too many people, the alley have almost no space to walk, and it was very hot. Most sellers were not friendly and too busy entertaining customers.

One of my favourite markets in Bangkok. I come here to stock up on accessories like bags, earrings, necklaces, rings etc. The items are very low in price but these are also wholesale prices. This means that you need to buy 3 pieces of costume jewelry at some places, or 6 in others, to get this price. For bags, you need to buy at least 2 items before you can get the wholesale price. Otherwise, the sellers add 50 THB more to the price. Best to come shopping with your girlfriends to combine your purchases.

This place is fun! You know, before Covid this place is jam packed and it's not fun to shop but now you can walk normally. It's not empty or anything but it's not as crowded as it was. Yes. Most of the stuff you have to buy in bulk but not that many. Most people are afraid of this place fearing they have to buy alot but most stores do retail as well. Highly recommended before it's back to full operation. Cannot walk when too crowded

Was there in the afternoon. Didn't spend much time there, only less than 3 hours. There were food stores, crystal shops and accessories shops. It was very packed, people were walking shoulder to shoulder, motorbikes and cars were also mixed in with us. Recommend the fish otak wrapped in leaf, only 25 baht and was delicious. The Thai coffee was diluted with ice so not as enjoyable. We also had beetel leaf at 60baht (self assemble), the one in pic is 50baht (which the seller folded for you and ready to eat), 100% recommended, it was so good!

This is a paradise for all the shopaholics especially who love to buy knick knacks. You will get all here like water bottles, fancy jewellery, socks, bags, purses, accessories like clips and a lot more stuff at a very low price. This market is located in china town. If you want to buy such products do visit the place as the price for these stuff is very low. The market is too busy, so you have to just keep walking ahead if you want to see all the shops around. It is like a small lane with all the shops. You can reach here easily by a cab. For such tips and suggestions about travel visit my website. Search for travelclever on Google.

The Chinatown market is a lot of fun, although it can be very busy at time, it's still is fun exploring the alleyway full of bargains... It's easy to find a variety of kitchen and household items, the food stalls are yummy and there's a lot of history in this marketplace. I find the old buildings interesting to look at, and it also offers many photographic opportunities.

Navigating Sampeng Market can be a bit of a challenge due to the narrow pathways and the sheer number of stalls, but that's part of its charm. It's an ideal place to sharpen your bargaining skills and discover unique treasures. Just remember to bring cash, as most vendors do not accept credit cards. In conclusion, Sampeng Market is a must-visit destination for those looking to experience the vibrant and diverse culture of Thailand. Whether you're a shopaholic, a food lover, or a cultural explorer, this market has something for everyone. So, immerse yourself in the chaos and charm of Sampeng Market and leave with memories and treasures that will last a lifetime.

Sampheng Market is located not far from ChinaTown, we had a walk along Chinatown and came into Sampheng Market which is basically a small alley with both sides full of shop, a lot of clothes, fashion Accesories available here at very reasonable price. We came on a Sunday afternoon so the crowd was crazy full like traffic jam. Nonetheless we really enjoyed the walk and even got ourselves some items.

Love this little food court in Sampheng market. There are about 5 - 6 food stalls with just as many tables. They have chicken rice, stewed pork knuckles, fish maw soup, noodle soup and a pancake wrap stall. If you want where the locals go for some authentic cheap Thai food, this is a good spot to go. The dishes go for about 50 - 60 baht each.

The prices here are incredibly low, allowing you to shop to your heart's content without breaking the bank. It's the perfect place to find souvenirs, gifts, or even everyday essentials at a fraction of the cost you would find elsewhere. Wat Samphanthawongsaram Worawihanra (Wat Koh)
Buddhist temple
😐 It's a nice building but couldn't go inside today (Tuesday) hence haven't been able to give this place more than three stars. The approach is nice, set back from the road with a short driveway and several fountains.
