“WHEN THE ROOTS ARE DEEP,  THERE IS NO REASON TO FEAR THE WIND.”  –  AFRICAN PROVERB This place shows the history of how Thailand origins. Not much in details, but at least it reminds us who we are from. It's great honored to have a chance to visit.

A short walk from Phra Arthit Pier, passing by the Phra Sumen Fort and a row of shop houses. There are tours every half hour and the guides are lovely:) The first part of the tour introduces the government agency responsible for the development and maintenance of the museum. The second part - in a joint building - tells the history of the district, from its early market days to its multicultural community.

Small museum but complete .. If you are in the area I recommend to visit it. They give you a book "The must see sites in Bangkok" that serves as a guide..

The original building was the Teachers Council Printing House. Before being renovated into a local museum that tells the stories of Bang Lamphu villagers.

Bang Lamphu Museum is located on Phra Sumen Road, and is walkable from Phra Artit Road. The museum is quite local but surprising, the space seems to be one of my favorite museum in Thailand. Ticket price for docent to give us a 1 hour tour is only 30 Baht. The tour goes on every half an hour and each tour capacity is around 8-10 people at max. Although the tour is based on Thai Language, the caption of some of the archaeological finds/items can be in English Description. The museum shows us the fascinating story of Banglumphu old days where market selling and its district are what is known for. There's also history learning part on how land was developed from time to time and even how nickel/coin are crafted and used for from the old times. An absolute wonderful museum that worth every penny. Some of the visitors (if his/her family member lives around here during 40s/50s) will surely inspired by those "nostalgic feeling" from start to the end. Still photos are permitted only.

Nice museum for a visit to understand the history of the banglamphu area. 30baht for the mandatory scheduled 1-hour guided exhibition on the second level. There was a free exhibition on the first level that wasn’t too informative. The coin minting/treasury portion was slightly bland; granted that the museum is funded by the treasury department. The gem was the second half portion covering the history of the area. Very modern and well-kept exhibition. Unfortunately the 2nd level exhibition can only be done with a guided tour. You will not be allowed to self-explore the exhibition after the guided tour is completed. So much potential but it was mostly a surface level explanation by the guide. I would’ve gained more if we could explore on our own. However still worth a visit as the exhibition was quite well-done. It even had braille labels as the docent informed that they do have visually and hearing impaired visitors visiting.

A great museum to visit if you are in the area. Despite a cheap 30thb ticket the value brought by the guides and exhibition itself is great. Good to hide from the hit all rooms are air conditioned. With the ticket there is a discount in a coffee shop downstairs

A trip into the history and how Bangkok is what it is today. This history tour is well worth a visit, and the small fee, to get a personal tour. My tour guide was fabulous, enthusiastic and knowledgeable.

Nice museum which tells you history of Bangkok old town and the old Banglumphu area. They also provide guided tour with good English speaking guide. At the top floor, you can get a good panoramic view of Rama 8 suspension bridge and the old fort nearby. Highly recommend.

Nice museum for 30 THB entry. Note that the second floor (which is where most of the displays are) is only accessible with their guide. When I was there, it was 10.30 am when the tour started. This building used to be a printing house before they converted it to a museum. Apparently every 17-19 December, they open the rooftop to the public. Allocate at least an hour for the tour. Ground floor exhibits are for your viewing pleasure until the guide is available. You’re allowed to take photographs, but no videos.

Excellent museum for children and young teenagers. The processes of minting money and basic economics are covered. Adults may also enjoy the museum. Unfortunately, some of the machines used for learning were not working when I visited. (June 2023)

Pipit Bang Lamphu at Bang Lamphu, Bangkok Everyone can watch. Children can watch. Adults can watch well. Had the opportunity to go during the Night Museum festival. It's very beautiful. The lights are the best. There's a lot to be excited about. Go with the whole family, have fun and be happy, making you feel good about remembering the past. Know the origins of the Bang Lamphu community in the past. It's like learning history. I'd like to recommend it to the whole family.

Museum to tell the history The life of the community in this area, such as important landmarks and famous old shops. The community's traditional way of living, making a living, on the ground floor of the building we can walk and see for ourselves. To read various history But the 2nd floor and another building You have to wait for the lecturer to take you to give a lecture. There is a fee of 30 baht and you have to wait in rounds. The wait isn't long, 10-15 minutes. The lecturer is cute. When you're finished viewing, there's also a coffee shop for sale below. The taste is ok and refreshing. When I went there, it looked like the place was building a library. It shouldn't be long before there's a library here as well. // P.S. At the entrance to the first building, during the time I went there was a free work shop as well. I think it should be changed according to the festival. Personally, I went to sit and paint and keep it as a souvenir. 🥰

Paid 30 Baht for a full 1 hour guide through this local community museum. It includes both history and facts of the Bang Lamphu community and also about coins and treasury stuffs. Place is clean and have cool AC. Toilets are also very clean. There's also souvenir shop where you can buy special occasions coins and medals.

1st floor is free though there is nothing much. For Thai person, entry fee for 2nd floor and another building is 30 Baht. I honestly only expected bill boards and audio. But the exhibition is so creative and well made. The Bang Lamphu area has so much history to know ! The tour takes like 30 minutes. And I really enjoys the place.

This was the best experience I had so far with Thai people. The two women helped me find out about the Dusit Zoo (which has or is in the process of moving), and one of them gave me a personnel museum tour. Those two are the best representatives of their country any country could hope to achieve. And I had a good time touring the museum. They were so nice I completely forgot about the zoo.

(Translated by Google) It's a place where people enter without a plan and have fun. Think of it as a local museum that records the history of Banglamphu. I think it was 100 baht for admission. The first floor is free to view, but the second floor and the connecting building must be viewed with a guide. The guide seems to be available in English only, but it doesn't seem like a difficult explanation and you can ask again. I laughed and talked with two guides by myself and had a very good time watching it. It is a great place to watch an hour or two after eating at a nearby noodle shop as it is operated by cool air conditioning. If you like museum, it is a must (Original)
