This was an experience that will stay with me for as long as I live. The beauty here is amazing. If you're lucky enough, you'll be at the top just as the sun starts to set, and it gets dark. That's when you get to see the unexpected. As you gaze in the distance, you'll see many other temples shining in contrast to the night. Just beautiful.

Really nice place to climb the step and get a 360 degrees view of the city! This was beautiful to see! The tempel itself isn't that much to see, but still so amazing to go to the top!

A temple which it's absolutely necessary to visit at the time of a visit to Bangkok and which however is not very known. It's located in height and dominates the city with an absolutely spectacular panoramic sight. It's necessary to climb a certain number of steps but at each "plateau", one attends something of magic. Huge gongs with a sublime sound that give us the illusion of being projected in an ancient era, prayer bells with a very nice sound too. Until we reach the temple at the top from which it's possible to go up to admire the golden stupa. A very nice discovery that I am glad I did not miss.

The temple is truly beautiful, surrounded by a serene atmosphere. Be prepared for a lot of steps, so bringing water is advisable. A peaceful place for reflection and appreciation.

It’s the first Buddhist temple I’ve visited in Thailand, and totally stole my heart. With such an affordable ticket only 100 Baht, I’ve got to experience this golden temple with rich history behind it. Their little oasis with small garden, serene fountain around the property add great impression to myself, can be spotted downstairs. I’ve got to witness how Thai people pray in this sacred Shrine. Be ready to step on hundreds of staircases to reach the peak of the statue, it’s going to be quite exhausting, but so worth it with dozen of huge bells, and marvelous Bangkok city view from such a height. So blown-away!

The Golden Mount Temple is a true gem, perched above the city, offering breathtaking views and intricate features. The journey up the stairs, adorned with nature, sculptures, and water features, is a delightful experience, impeccably maintained. Like many Thai temples, it's an active place of worship, so touring it requires respect. At 100 baht per person (cash only) to reach the mount's top, it's a small price for an incredible view. If that's not your vibe, there are equally enchanting temples with Buddha statues on the ground floor. Our exploration took around 2 hours, and every moment was filled with cultural and historical richness. Wat Saket is an absolute must-visit if you find yourself in the city—a true relic that leaves a lasting impression.

Highly recommend while you’re in Bangkok!! Beautiful temple and surrounding buildings. Clean area as well thanks to the great staff who work there. Would recommend going at anytime. We spent about an hour there and got some beautiful photos. Very bright and unique

One of the most beautiful temple in Bangkok. Said to be built and continuously developed since the reign of Rama I. From the recording, the temple collapsed many times in the past. But it was rebuilt and stable for a long time now. An iconic temple like standing on the top of golden temple, you can see from a far. You can walk from ground to the top to see the view of Bangkok city. There are also countless parking lots available. Must come to pay a visit!

A calm and nice environment in the middle of Bangkok. This is also Bangkok's highest point, so the view is super nice. At the top of the mountain is a temple and to see it you only need to walk the 344 steps. Worth a visit, maybe not during the hottest days of the year.

Visiting this place in the evening was the best decision I could have made. The amazing lights, the traditional chants of the monks and the hundreds of steps to climb the hill... all this gives you a moment to think about what is important, what counts and why we keep looking to the future and not living in the present. Remarkable moment in Bangkok.

Calm place outside the busy Bangkok. The history of this mound is interesting. Very good sign boards and the ticket fee for a foreigner is 50 THB per person. Surrounding this mound , there are other few temples as well . Well maintained and clean . 344 steps climbing is fun and doesn’t make you tired . Don’t forget to see different buddhas lucky Buddha , Fortune Buddha , Black Buddha .you can have a 360 degree view of Bangkok atop the temple . Can spend around 2 hrs and better to go there by 4 pm so as to see the sunset as well .

A very nice Thai temple which is worth the visit. You need to climb 244 steps to get from the base to the top of the temple. No worry if you cannot climb all the way up because there is a cafe midway for you to rest and enjoy snacks and coffee 😉 Price is affordable and delicious. I like the Buddhas up the temple. Can also get blessings and chanting from monks for best wishes and health. A small entrance fee for foreigners. Locals are free.

Nice to visit to worship, to see history, see the view. Very popular, many steps but short steps about 4 inch / 10 cm. There are 2 or 3 rest areas as you walk up. There is a coffee shop half way and water / soda at the top. Several bells along the climb up, multiple buddha worship areas along the route. At the top with the golden stupa there is a shop to buy bells and other merit donations and traditional to walk around the stupa 3 times. In good weather at sunset likely to be busy both for worship and the view.

Wat Saket is one of the most amazing temples to visit in Bangkok. It's also known as the Golden Mount and is set on a site with 344 steps to the reach the summit so does involve a bit of a climb. It's not really taxing if you take it nice and slowly and with the amazing views to take in along the way you'll want to. The route is flanked with all sizes of bells, striking them is thought to bring good luck. From the summit you can enjoy and amazing 360 view of the city. Doesn't seem to get particularly crowded, maybe the thought of the stairs puts people off. Plenty to see and has a lovely peaceful atmosphere with a lilting background sound of soft bells. Wonderful

One of the very beautiful temples in the heart of Bangkok! Quite close to Grand Palace and Wat Arun (actually many great temples around here) and it's absolutely magnificent place to be. You have to climb closer to 400 steps and you don't feel it. Usually they call in Golden Buddha in case if you can't find it. They charge 50 Baht for a foreigner but there is no one to check whether you got a ticket or not. Brilliant sunset if you go up around 5.30 - 6.00 and you can see pretty much the whole city from there.

Beautiful temple in Bangkok. But it's not in the city center, i took bus to get there. The entrance fee is 50 baht for foreigner but free of charge for local. You have to walk 322 steps to get on top of the temple. The stairs is clean and very easy to walk. There is a cafe in the middle selling food and drinks. You can also buy drinks on top of the temple. There is a good Bangkok city view from top of the temple.

This temple is called ‘Golden Mountain’ it’s the miniature of the real mountain that have golden pagoda situated on top of it. Visitors can walk up this small mountain, seeing small gardens with waterfall. The view from above is amazing! You can see the bangkok downtown and the old town from there!! Highly recommend that you visit this temple in the early morning or during sunset to avoid heat and strong sunlight.

50 Baht entry fee if you are a Foreigner (free for Thai nationals). It's a place to tick off the list if you are visiting Bangkok. Little bit different, easy walk to the top to see the temple and take in the views of the surrounding area. I've visited this temple a few times, mainly because the surrounding area is so cool and every now and then will take in the view.

A large gilded stupa with great views of Bangkok. There is an indoor area on top beneath the golden bell looking structure. Free to enter. There are quite a few steps to negotiate before you get to the top so be ready for a bit of a hike.

The Golden Mount Temple itself wasn't extraordinary, however the alcoves of nature, sculptures, and water features as you climb the stairs are very pretty and well maintained. The temple, as most of the temples we visited in Thailand, are an active place of worship. Remember to be respectful as you tour the temple and its grounds. Ringing the bells and the gongs are encouraged and it was one of the highlights of our visit. The restrooms (toilets) requested that you not wear your shoes. There were sandals/slides for visitors to put on while using the facilities. The view from the top was really beautiful.

A beautiful temple located in the city. By climbing the stairs to the top, you get a bird's eye view of the city. Being here around 3-4pm may allow you to catch beautiful light. For women, it is possible to buy a shawl at the entrance with a rental fee of 50 baht, and the entrance fee is 100 baht per person. it's worth to be seen.

Such a beautiful walk upto the The Golden Temple. 50 baht entry fee extremely well priced. As you start to ascend, youre met with beautiful water gardens, statues which are perfect for photos. Buddhist temple with Chinese influences. Bells to ring, gongs to smash, steps to climb. Really enjoyed the walk up. The mist from from water features well received on the hot day. Ranks number 2 on my personal lost of temples to visit if you visit Bangkok.

An incredibly beautiful temple. There’s quite a few steps on the way up, but nothing too bad. There’s a cafe around halfway up. I found it very peaceful. Common advice is to wear pants (or long skirts for women) at temples in Thailand. There’s a lot of folks trying to rent pants if you forget them.

If you’ve experienced all the other temples first, you probably won’t be too impressed with this one. However, If you’re looking for a little culture away from the crowds and some 40baht coconuts, you should definitely come here. I was too lazy to climb the mount to the top but I hear there’s a coffee shop at the top for those that aren’t being lazy. Around the temple there are some small wood crafting shops if you’re interesting in looking at some wood wall art.

Located in the old Bangkok area. There’s no skyscraper nearby so you can enjoy the 360 degree view of Bangkok. Recommended to visit in the morning or evening.

The temple may not be the most popular in the list but it is located in the center of the city where you can climb up stairs to sightsee the spectacular view of Bangkok without any tickets too. Was there 2 weeks ago. Plan to visit the temple in the future when we're able to go to bangkok again. The temple is nice and clean and have some corners to explore. Recommended! The temple opens from 7 AM.

A really cool temple to visit in Bangkok, a must-see for any tourist. It's not expensive at all, and it is absolutely beautiful to see the city from on top. Try to go during sunset if you want to take photos or have a nice view of the sun going down.

One of my colleague suggested this place to me. Was exploring all famous Wat in town, though Wat Saket wasn't on my list. But, after visiting this place. I will recommend you all to add it in your list. This is different from other Wat in Bangkok. Probably the only wat here situated on a hill. There's an interesting story behind its existence. One should go and witness This places offers a scenic panoramic view from top

Easy to get to by canal boat. Food stalls outside if you're hungry. Keep your shoes on inside so that's good. Beautiful temple with a great view of the city.

  • 5/5 Poppy 1 year ago on Google
Beautiful scenic temple overlooking Bangkok, while there are several flights of stairs to walk up to the top the steps are very shallow and the breeze makes it a cool walk up. There are many bells to ring as you go up which is fun, and as you reach the top you will see monks and several places to worship - it’s an amazingly peaceful escape from the city. Don’t miss out climbing to the top of the pagoda, the steps can be easy to miss. Tickets are 100baht each and you get a free drink included. As it’s a religious site do remember to wear appropriate clothing (no tank tops/shorts).

Only 100 bhat to get to the top, the walk is fairly easy but not for strollers and wheel chairs. There is a coffee shop half way up and drinks available at the top. You can get some amazing views of the city from the top. At 11am it wasnt very busy which made going around the Wat very easy.

  • 5/5 Logan S. 2 years ago on Google
It is the best temple to see the sunset in all of Bangkok. In contrast to the other major temples in Bangkok, this one gets the least tourists. Only 50 THB per person to enter. Cheaper than the main 3 temples of Bangkok. Beware of the vending machines! There are shops once you climb up the steps. We lost 10 THB in the vending machine without receiving our drink. Wait until the shops. Go right before sunset on a clear day. There are incredible views and not as many tourists as you'd expect. Great street food vendors not far away.

  • 5/5 Brend E. 1 year ago on Google
This Temple is quite beautiful. There are plenty of little nooks to explore. It could take you many hours to find everything. The walk up was beautiful, quite an outstanding water feature they have on those steps. It makes the climb nice and cool. Once you get to the top, you have a panoramic view of Bangkok. It's quite surprising how much you can see from up there.
