What a fantastic hotel. This isn't a 5* 'posh' hotel, but it is quite possibly one of the most memorable places we've stayed. Perfect service, quirky family room complete with outside bath and a shower in the hallway. To top it all, authentic Thai breakfast. I can't recommend this place enough if you like something a bit different and are in Bangkok.

Great boutique hotel close to many sightseeing spots. We stayed her as part of our „staycation“ to explore another part of Bangkok. Rooms are not too spacious, but great with a lot of detail. Friendly owner/staff with perfect English (sometimes otherwise a little headache elsewhere). Reasonable priced food which tastes very good. We also did a little bike tour, which was great. My girlfriend (born and raised in Bangkok) even got to knew new spots for our next visit. Definitely highly recommended if you’re looking for something else than the typical posh hotel, but rather looking for something with a lot of charm and detail.

It’s hard to work out what we liked best about this charming hotel. We are certain that their extremely helpful advice is the reason our 48hours in Bangkok was exactly what we wanted it to be. When we had some issues with our flights and luggage. The amazing staff made phone calls, translated for us and sorted everything out. The breakfast was also incredible and catered to vegetarians, fussy children and those who love authentic Thai food. We can HIGHLY recommend the fried donuts with condensed milk for a deliciously naughty treat. The free bike tour was incredible. Make sure to stay on a night when this is running. We felt so safe, even riding with our children and learned SO much. It was such a fabulous adventure. Finally, our actual rooms were comfortable, cool and beautifully equipped. We’ve probably taken photos of every little inch of the room because it was so stunning. We stayed in one which had the most delightful outdoor bath, for which the hotel let us select our own favourite scent of bath salts. They also helped us book massages at a local place that was the best we have had on our entire trip and the most reasonably priced. Finally, the location was perfect. We felt really comfortable walking around on foot and using Grab to get to destinations that tired little fit just couldn’t manage. I would highly recommend booking direct as the prices were even better and included great deals and communicating directly with the owner was really easy. We would actually visit Bangkok again just to stay here. Thank you so much Jason and team! You made our first ever stop in Asia wonderful!

I cannot recommend this place enough! We were welcomed by the lovely team and shown to our spacious and very quirky room - everything was provided and we even received a daily souvenir and hand written note. The place is spotless but certainly not lacking in charm. Location is perfect , moments away from lots of very popular sites and attractions but not at all noisy. Breakfast is super, you have to order the night before but it’s freshly prepared for you. Jason, Proud and the team are so friendly and accommodating. I left an airpod behind and they spotted it and emailed within minutes of our check out to inform us and very kindly sent it on to our next hotel in Thailand. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay.

The most charming hotel, Jason and his team are the most welcoming and friendly hosts! From our calm and relaxed check in welcome drinks, to a tailored recommendation guide (a folder full of suggestions for a 72 hour trip) and the best breakfasts, this was a huge highlight of Bangkok. I'm only sorry we didn't get to experience the bike tour, but definitely will next time. Already looking forward to it!

Amazing stay. Jason and the rest of the staff were very accommodating. They booked us anything we needed and we’re always leaving small notes and gifts. The accommodation was great and unique. The rooms were interesting and well designed. Accessibility point: some of the rooms have Steep stairs to the bed so if you are unable to do that ensure you request a room without a loft. The included breakfast was constantly delicious. It’s also a good central location and good walking distance to a lot of good activities. We’ll be back!!

Second time we stay at this hotel. It’s just so nice and such a good service so every time we are and will come to Bangkok we will choose Old Capital Bike in. The room (honeymoon suite) is so so nice and romantic. The bed is comfortable. The shower and the bathtub is so cool. You have stairs to climb down to get to the shower bath and as well the toilet so if you don’t like climbing up and down then be careful. We loved that it is separated it gave a really nice feeling, the tub is actually outdoors. In a small back yard of your room. Super nice! The hotel is situated quite close to everything you would like to see coming to Bangkok for a first or second time. We walked around the city from the hotel. Takes about 20-40 minutes to get to the river. Take a TukTuk and you are there in 5 minutes. That’s where you have the temples etc. Take the guided bicycle tour that the hotel offers, it is just so cool. And like that you get to know the old city a bit more. And then you can borrow a bicycle your self and go around the city. Don’t miss the flower market by night, amazing! Takes 10 min by bicycle to get to. If you know the way. The breakfast is really great. You will have to choose from a menu the day before. You will find it plenty and delicious. Classic egg breakfast or more Thai with noodles or rice. All up to you. Fresh fruits and toast. Juice and Coffee or The. If you leave early they give you a bag with things to eat. Order the taxi from the hotel and you have an easy arrival and departure. The day you come and the day you leave. Cheep and easy. With a fixed price included everything. Use the service of the Spa reservation with discount. Wow that is totally worth it. You also have a swimming pool that you can.access at a hotel near by. For 100 baht you can stay there all day if you want. As a couple I would take this hotel right away. We have stayed in many places but this is one of our favourite hotels in the world. So worth the money.

Loved this accommodation. Jason and team were so very helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was delicious with made to order eggs, waffles and bacon. We enjoyed the free nighttime bike tour - it was a great introduction to Bangkok for our first evening. Think the location is perfect, especially for first time visitors with easy access to the famous temples and the river. To go further afield it was very easy to use Grab to order a taxi. MRT is a bit of a walk but still doable. Bed was super comfy and hotel facilities were lovely. You will not be disappointed if you stay at the Old Capital Bike Inn!

Amazing staff who were very helpful with all needs and recommendations of where to go as well as what to avoid so as to not get scammed! Really neat hotel with beautiful decor in great location. Truly a family run place with a personal touch to all they do. Was there in Christmas morning and they left gifts for all guests with breakfast!

Absolutely wonderful stay. Jason and his team are very accommodating. They informed us about the on going construction but it didn’t disappoint us. Their warm and friendly welcome and assistance are top notch. Keep up the good work. Food is delicious. Great cook. It’s not a hotel, it’s an inn, but they serve better. Feels like home and unique experience. Close to many restaurants and temples. They assisted us on many things. Love every bit of our stay. Thank you OCBI ! God bless 🙏🏼

Today is my last day in Bangkok, for now. It is a short 5 day trip spent in two hotels. Old Capital Bike Inn first and a 4 star riverside hotel before I go home. The second hotel is good but Old Capital is exceptional. The feel of Old Capital Bike Inn, the little details, the breakfast and most of all - the friendliness and helpfulness of Jason and his team. Of course I'll be back.

I cannot recommend OCBI enough. Our room was so beautiful, with the comfiest bed and great amenities. The thing that really puts it above other hotels is the staff. They couldn't have done more to make our stay amazing and stress free. The free vintage bikes were also a real touch and the breakfast was something to look forward to each morning.

A fantastic small boutique style hotel, Jason and his team were super friendly and were so helpful, even at 5am when we needed a taxi. The complimentary bike tour was a great introduction into the old town. I couldn't recommend this hotel highly enough. Jason even warned us a couple of weeks in advance of some potential disruption because of works being carried out on the road outside. This was welcome as a warning but any noise was only during the day and didn't bother us. Fabulous place

I'm on my last night at Old Capital Bike Inn and I couldn't have been happier with how my stay here went. Jason and his staff were beyond helpful in suggesting activities for us, even going so far as booking venues for us and finding us discounts. From the moment we arrived they have done everything to make mine and my wife's honeymoon extra special. You are in the best of hands at the Old Capital Bike Inn.

Had a wonderful stay at the Bike Inn! The rooms are lovely (although a little cramp for two big suitcases!) and the location is great. There is big works going on outside but that didn’t really affect us at the back of the building (but use the ear plugs)… Breakfast also worth a shout out - loads of choice - local and western! The team at the place are so friendly and helpful, which made our stay even more pleasant. Just wish I’d got a print of the hotel…

Absolutely wonderful. This charming hostel has everything a visitor to Bangkok could ask for: great location, cute interior, delicious breakfast, clean rooms, comfy beds, and some of the friendliest staff we've ever had the pleasure of encountering in a hotel. They're very considerate, love to help wherever they can, and give great tips for things to do. Look no further. This place is an absolute gem!

  • 5/5 Kriya P. 6 months ago on Google
This place provides so much charm, right from the set up of the rooms to the service of the staff. The rooms are clean, and follow what feels like a British colonial style with lots of dark, timber fittings and furniture. If you’re looking for state of the art and Uber luxury, this is not it. But The breakfast in the morning is delightful, and a perfect way to start our morning before heading out to explore. The hotel were fantastic and helping us navigate a couple of travel issues we encountered, and were also great in providing hints and tips for places to visit and how to get around. The evening bicycle tour is a must and a fantastic way to get around to see some of the sites at night. To top it off. We were left a daily note and gift from the hotel as part of housekeeping which made us feel warm and fuzzy. Come here, you’ll have a stay you won’t forget.

Old Capital Bike Inn exceeded all my expectations. The breakfast was phenomenal, the staff was incredibly friendly, and the location was perfect. The Old Capital Bike Inn is perfect for anyone traveling to Bangkok, either alone or with others. Having individualized breakfast everyday really made traveling easy. I was able to walk to most of the places I wanted to visit in Bangkok and there was a metro station near by. Additionally, the staff was always so attentive and caring throughout my stay. I would highly recommend Old Capital Bike Inn and I will definitely be staying there again.

Stayed here 3 nights in August 2023. Great location, *excellent* breakfast. There is building work outside but that didn't affect us. Free massage for booking direct, bike tour was fun, staff were super helpful with tips and sorting transfers We were in the honeymoon suite and it was awesomely quirky including outside bath. Nice touch with messages and little gifts every day

This is a hidden gem in a crazy city like Bangkok! From the moment we got there, B was so welcoming and informative. She gave us info about everything we needed and gave us a map to help us navigate the city! The location could not be better! We walked everywhere! There is construction happening on the main road (what major city doesn't have construction), but it doesn't really factor into your stay here! Our room - 2 bdr family room- was soooo cool!! Super historic and beautiful. We had an outdoor tub that was luxurious considering we were in the middle of one of the oldest cities in the world! Is it your typical hotel...NO and thankfully it has retained the magic of its family history. Jason has kept a great place going in a city that keeps getting modernized! The breakfast is soooo delicious! Get the waffle and chicken! There is also a reciprocal deal with a fellow hotel and you can use the spa at the Bangkok hotel for less then $5!

An absolutely lovely experience staying at Old Capital Bike Inn. The owners are so welcoming and friendly, and their English is brilliant! A kind and warm welcome, including a welcome drink. Upon check-in, you have the option to select what you'd like for your breakfast, and what time you'd like it, along with the option to donate to 1 of 4 charities (and the hotel will match your donation). The breakfast was 10/10 and you certainly won't leave hungry. I recommend the chicken skewer and waffles! If you, like us, need to check-out early morning (we left at 0430), we were offered breakfast to take away! The bedroom is lovely, and exactly as described (I stayed in the garden suite) - clean, tidy, lovely decor, a choice of bath salts to select. Beds are made up each day and towels can be replaced if needed, however the hotel encourages them to be reused, which is great. Each day you arrive back to your room you are greeted with a little personalised message and souvenir. Despite the road/building works going on out front, this can't be heard from the room - earplugs are provided though, just in case! If I travel back to Bangkok, I'd certainly stay here again!

SOOOO happy to stay in this amazing hotel. Lovely boutique hotel feeling, and amazing breakfast. Better yet, the people working there are so friendly! You feel like family. And Jason gave a great bike tour of the area. Couldn't ask for more.

Great location in the Old City. The breakfast was included in our room rate but enjoyed some of the best breakfasts in my entire month in Thailand while staying at the Old Capital Bike Inn. The Inn has been owned and managed by a common family for many years and their dedication for hospitality is superb. Thoughtful details everywhere.

We stayed here for the second part of our honeymoon trip to Thailand and the stay was fantastic. The staff is extremely friendly and informative, with plenty of suggestions about what to do each day, restaurants to try, etc. The rooms were clean, charming and cute. Breakfast was amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would easily stay again. The complimentary night bike tour is a must!

This place is a quirky gem situated in the Old Town in Bangkok. The breakfasts were a delight and can recommend the fried dough with home made coconut jam. Jason the owner was a huge help to our party, arranging transport etc and helping out with directions and other bits of touristy info. They do bike tours around Bangkok too. The staff were so helpful and friendly too. Highly recommended!

This is not a typical 5-star hotel that lives by standard services and facilities. Rather, it's a boutique hotel great for small groups, families, and couples. Staff is gracious and well coached in serving people and making them feel special. Stay here if you want a cute, fun, quirky, or individualized experience. Owner is very hands-on. Speaks native quality English.

We chose to stay here because of the fantastic reviews and we were not disappointed! Jason is by far the most amazing host. He went out of his way so many times to help us - we are so grateful to him! We absolutely loved the ambiance and the breakfast was incredible. Would recommend this place to anyone!

This hotel is unique in the best way possible - the decor is beautiful, the service is outstanding and the owners go out of their way to add any extra special touch to your visit that they can (they surprised my sister with a birthday cake, they left little notes and gifts for us, the list goes on). The breakfast was the best we had in Thailand. Returning to the decor and style of the place, the hotel has a beautiful nostalgic feel to it - something that sets it apart from the other places we’ve stayed in Bangkok.

Charming place with devoted and very nice people. The breakfasts are just delicious. The rooms are nicely decorated, comfortable and very clean. It is also very quiet for this location wich is very central. Thank you Jason and all your team. We would be very happy to come back and enjoy once again our stay with you.

I spent 10 days in Bangkok. All ten days were at the Old Capital Bike Inn. I regard this as a discovery, a safe haven, a home. A gem of a hotel. The host Jason is too gorgeous. He spoils his guests with affection, precision of service and a sensitivity in communication that he ought to teach others. As a designer, I loved how OCBI is a collection of craft furniture, bikes and small spaces exquisitely set up for Instagram. I am already planning my next trip to this part of Bangkok. This hotel is that good.

Old Capital bike in is a very beautiful boutique Hotel, the interior is absolutely gorgeous and every room has a deferent theme. It’s very close to all the big attractions Grand Palace, Wat Pho, Wat Arun, Golden Mountain and just 5 minutes walk from Khao San Road .They have vintage bikes that you can take and ride to the city. The breakfast is one of the best in Thailand believe me I have been many times to Thailand and I stayed in a few others hotels. But the most important thing about this beautiful hotel is the staff and the owner which they are so welcoming and always polite and ready to help you in anything you are going to need in the city. Jason thank you once again for making our stay in Bangkok so nice till next time Kop Koon Krap 🙏🏻.

This hotel is so thoughtful and cosy. The honeymoon suite had great decor and was so comfortable. Breakfast was delicious! Jason and his team are very thoughtful. Follow all of Jason’s recommendations and you will have a great time in Bangkok and beyond!! Highly recommend Jason’s bike tour if it happens to be running during your stay. Thanks for having us!

My fiancée and I could not have been happier with our 4-night experience at this hotel. The breakfast and the coffee in the morning is delicious and the location is unbeatable. Even more than that - Jason was a huge influence for both our Bangkok trip as well as the rest of our 4 week trip throughout Thailand. His recommendations and help without a doubt made our trip significantly better. The hotel room itself is beautiful and you feel like you're in an oasis everything you get back after a long day out in Bangkok. We can't wait to get back there one day. Also - there is a pool option where you can pay a small fee to use a great pool in a neighboring hotel (see photo). Great for really hot days.

We loved our stay at Old Capital Bike Inn. It is in a great location, the service was amazing, the hotel is stunning and is a great option if you’re looking for something with a bit of character. Jason and his team were fantastic at providing recommendations for things to do and helping us get around. We’ll definitely be back when we’re next in Bangkok.

Lovely little boutique hotel in Old Bangkok. This place is such a nice change from big, generic chain hotels. The service was excellent and very friendly. The breakfast was awesome, probably the best hotel breakfast I’ve had in ages. This place is fairly close to tourist sites like The Grand Palace, Wat Po, Khao San Rd, etc.

Pros : beautiful hotel with stunning room decoration, delicious breakfast and amazing staff. We loved the bike tour and got great recommendations on what to do in Bangkok. Cons : none! My second stay here (2019 then 2022) and still fantastic! Rooms are spacious, very clean and quiet considering it’s on a busy road. Breakfast is plentiful, fresh and delicious. Jason and his staff are so welcoming and helpful; I especially appreciated his excellent recommendations for how to spend my time away from the main tourist sites.

This place is fantastic! We arrived late on a Saturday night and having a car pick us up at the airport was such a welcome. The welcome continued and intensified when we arrived at 1 am: they had delicious iced tea waiting with "relaxing towels" (packaged scented cloth cloths) and some chips. The rooms are so funky, charming and fun! Ours has a loft with queen bed and a single bed downstairs. Don't expect ADA in BKK--the stairs are practically a ladder. While it's a bit daunting when sleepy, I wouldn't have it any other way. Just beautiful with lots of wood. Nice "rain" shower, funky sink bowl. Very efficient a/c unit in the wall and it turns off when you take the key--we really like that. Breakfast was delicious, and these folks are very kind and solicitous. Last night we took the bike tour around the city nearby. Moo (sp?) was very knowledgeable, and while they wouldn't normally do a tour in the rain we were up for it and so was he. Lots within walking distance, from Golden Mountain to the Palace and lots of temples. Restaurants galore. We're here one more night before we leave for Chang Mai, but return our last night before flying home in a couple of weeks. I'm so looking forward to coming back to a place I really like, and would definitely come back.

😠 Your breakfast becomes Lunch. One hour waiting at least, asked them once if my food is coming didn't even reply, and one thai customer told me that they were waiting for 1h30 min. The food tastes horrible and greasy. The only good thing there is probably the coffee which is a 20 min wait as well.
