The
first
thing
that
I
noticed
when
entering
this
modern
and
excellently
maintained
place
was
the
scent,
it
just
smells
so
nicely,
with
a
gentle
perfume
sprinkled
in
many
public
areas.
The
room
that
I
took
(deluxe
private
room
with
bathroom)
was
sparkling
clean
-
and
nicely
smelling
too
-
much
like
the
rest
of
the
building.
Everything
was
in
perfect
condition
as
if
it
were
built
just
recently.
The
heating
of
the
water
in
the
shower
could
be
improved
to
higher
capacity
heaters
(the
water
was
above
warm
but
not
so
hot),
but
other
than
that
I
don't
recall
maintenance
or
technical
issues.
The
breakfast,
albeit
on
the
modest
side,
was
tasty
and
clean,
with
fresh
ingredients
and
consistent
quality.
The
tables
in
the
seating
area
had
this
weird
quality
that
whenever
I
had
coffee,
something
fell
and
caused
some
of
the
coffee
to
spill,
maybe
the
legs
of
the
tables
are
not
designed
well.
But
really
this
is
just
trying
to
dig
some
minor
problems.
Another
tiny
problem
was
that
the
drainage
canal
near
the
public
toilets
on
the
ground
floor
is
easy
to
trip
on,
happened
to
me
twice.
But
really,
if
you're
a
couple
and
looking
for
a
pleasant
and
extremely
clean
place
to
stay,
not
too
far
from
Khaosan
and
the
river,
then
this
will
be
an
excellent
option
at
this
price
level
which
is
very
affordable.
You
will
not
regret
picking
it,
and
it
may
be
one
of
the
nicest
places
you've
stayed
in
your
tour.
However:
for
solo
travelers
/
backpackers,
unfortunately
I
have
a
significant
difficulty
recommending
this
place
in
the
same
way
-
for
me
the
vibe
was
too
"sterile",
with
all
kinds
of
strict
rules
that
have
in
fact
made
several
guests
(not
just
me)
feel
uncomfortable
and
misinformed,
in
particular
the
fact
that
no
visitors
are
allowed
in
the
premises
past
the
reception
desk
-
even
though
this
was
not
stated
clearly
at
all
when
I
booked
the
place.
I
would
say,
if
there
are
certain
strict
policies
for
whatever
reasons
(such
as
-
no
external
visitors
allowed,
only
one
dish
per
person
in
breakfast,
no
option
to
shower
anywhere
after
checkout
time
-
even
for
a
fee,
scary
price
list
for
extra
laundry
of
the
bed
sheets
and
covers,
etc.),
then
it
would
just
be
*fair*
to
state
all
of
this
clearly
before
confirming
the
booking,
as
part
of
well-communicated
"house
rules",
and
thus
to
let
people
make
an
informed
decision
about
their
booking.
Otherwise,
meeting
those
rules
for
the
first
time
only
after
you're
already
there,
just
causes
unnecessary
frustration
and
negatively
affects
the
stay
for
some
of
the
guests,
because
at
that
point
it
is
impractical
to
do
anything
but
to
accept
these
rules.
Therefore
it
is
with
a
heavy
heart
that
I
give
this
place
only
3
stars,
at
least
until
those
house
rules
become
communicated
clearly
before
the
booking.
If
I
were
a
couple,
I
would
surely
give
the
hotel
4-5
stars
(half
a
star
off
is
because
of
the
location,
that
is
actually
a
quarter
of
an
hour
walk
from
Khaosan),
so
I'm
only
trying
to
reflect
an
aspect
that
is
applicable
to
certain
travelers.
Again
I
repeat
that
it's
the
cleanest
and
one
of
the
best
maintained
places
that
I
stayed
at
in
this
category
of
hostels
during
my
trip
--
but
even
with
the
understanding
that
the
rules
have
reasonings,
I
cannot
ignore
the
fact
that
being
a
solo
traveler,
I
felt
very
surprised
to
learn
about
these
rules
only
at
arrival,
and
I
am
pretty
sure
that
other
solo
guests
shared
similar
feeling
-
to
the
extent
that
maybe
I
would
skip
this
place
and
wouldn't
stay
here
if
I
had
known.
I
will
add
that
the
staff
was
very
helpful,
informative
and
kind,
and
went
an
extra
mile
to
assist
and
explain
--
within
the
boundaries
of
the
house
rules
and
policies.
To
summarize:
excellent
building,
maintenance
and
hygiene,
4.5
stars
if
you're
a
couple,
but
carefully
consider
if
the
rules
fit
you
if
you're
solo
/
backpacker.
