I loved my stay at the Riu Republica! Definitely got a lot of value for the price of this stay. I would recommend this for a quick price worthy vacation. Food is great at the restaurants, not as much at the buffet style. Room was lovely and had a balcony that we enjoyed to relax. Room was also quiet and very well kept. I felt very safe at this resort as well. Bar service was great, so was service getting food, housekeeping etc. The staff here could not be better! They deserve everything! I will mention however bring cash if you plan to tip as there is not a convenient ATM inside the hotel. There is one a short walk down the street but it only gives pesos. The resort here definitely caters to a younger partying crowd as well. That was not an issue for me though. However I would say a lot of the crowd tends to leave trash etc. The staff does such a wonderful job cleaning up after these people though however they should not have too! Live entertainment was great and there are so many options for things to do! If you stay here you will not be bored!

Typically, I write reviews once I'm back from a trip, but this time, it's different. The hygiene issues here are making my experience unpleasant, and I find something to comment on everywhere I look. If cleanliness is a priority for you like me, this resort might not be an ideal place for you. There's often a noticeable humidity-related odor in the rooms, which the hotel isn't responsible for but could work on resolving. The tableware specially glasses and plates in all the restaurants (including those requiring reservations), tends to be stained and not properly cleaned. While the staff is friendly and eager to enhance your experience, communication issues due to limited English proficiency were common—some interactions even required sign language. The food options are repetitive, and though dinner reservations are available in certain restaurants, the salad remains self-serve. **** Hygiene poses a significant concern, while the parties and drinks are enjoyable, the food is decent, the pools' water appears cloudy rather than clear, and the public restrooms don't meet cleanliness standards. **** The management team should address these issues if they read these reviews. Many reviewers have expressed concerns about hygiene and food quality. Merely responding with a copied text won't improve the quality; real changes are needed.

I recently had the misfortune of staying at the Riu Republica Hotel in the Dominican Republic on 3rd June 2023, and my experience was nothing short of a nightmare. Upon arrival, I was informed that due to high capacity, I was allocated an alternative room for the first night. Little did I know that this decision would turn my dream vacation into a dreadful ordeal. The room I was given had an overwhelming smell of mould that was unbearable. It was evident that the room was clearly out of service and should never have been assigned to any guest. The condition of the room was appalling, and it immediately raised concerns about the hygiene and maintenance standards at the hotel. Despite my protests and expressing my displeasure to the staff, I was told there were no other options available, and I had no choice but to endure this inhabitable room for one night. This was an unacceptable response from a supposedly reputable hotel chain like Riu. Finally, the following day, after an uncomfortable and sleepless night, the staff moved me to a different room. However, there was absolutely no acknowledgment of the inconvenience and discomfort I had endured, nor any sign of compensation for the traumatic experience I had gone through. It is disheartening that the hotel management did not show any concern for the situation they put me in, and their lack of accountability is truly disappointing. Feeling frustrated, I decided to email the hotel management to express my concerns and seek an explanation for their unacceptable service. However, much to my dismay, I have not received any response from them. This level of disregard for their guests' grievances only exacerbates the negative impression I have of Riu Republica. As a paying guest, I expected a certain level of professionalism and care from the hotel staff, especially when faced with such distressing circumstances. Unfortunately, my experience with Riu Republica fell far short of these expectations. I strongly advise against staying at Riu Republica if you value your comfort, safety, and expect any form of accountability from the hotel management. My dream vacation was marred by the hotel's lack of concern, subpar accommodation, and poor customer service. I will not be returning to this establishment, and I hope others can learn from my unfortunate experience. Sincerely, Rico

Checking out today at 11am and I just felt compelled to write a review. Prior to coming here my expectations were pretty low due to reading all of the reviews left here. To my surprise, the only minor issue that was right from the comments was the difficulty of getting beach towels and you had to go early in the morning. That’s it. Everything else was great- the food is enjoyable for a buffet quality, the cocktail menu has much diversity … I have no negative comments. Special thanks to Pedro the waiter for making our nights much more enjoyable, his service was immaculate and he always prepared our tables for us before we’ve even arrived. All the other waiters were also super friendly. Party wise was a blast. Every night the club was packed and lit even if they repeat most of the same songs. It was only a minor discomfort. I recommend going to one of the themed Riu Parties, me and my friends had the best time over there. All in all, I thouroughly enjoyed my experience and I will be coming back again with my friends in the near future.

The customer service at this resort is the main reason I’m giving the resort a 1 star rating. There were several issues throughout my stay. 1. During dinner on our first night there was a roach crawling on the sushi. The chef removed the piece of sushi instead of the entire tray and continued allowing others to put sushi on their plate at the buffet. 2. There was an ant infestation. We contacted the front desk twice to rectify the issue. The issue was not resolved. 3. We were locked out of our room for 1 hr and 30 minutes. We walked to the front desk twice for new keys and each time the keys did not work. We waited again for maintenance to assist and maintenance acted as if it was our fault the key cards on the property were not working. We were told we we have to move rooms but they would not have available room until the following day. I asked management how we are supposed to get back into our room throughout the day since the keys will not work. Management laughed and said she would call back in 3 minutes. Manager never returned the call and the front desk stopped answering our phone calls. We were only able to leave our room one at a time due to the keys not working. 4. Bedsheets and covers not washed. I found several strands of hair on the sheets and yellow blanket. 5. We were told our laundry could not be washed due to the clothes having mud on them from an excursion that was booked via the resort. Overall I would not recommend this resort to anyone.

Just stayed at this resort with my friends for my bach party. This was my first all-inclusive so it was a big surprise and experience. I would say for the price the resort is very nice and provides a lot for the all-inclusive tag. There are great parties, pools, activities and lots of food to eat. It was also a very nice hotel in terms of the amenities and looks and feel of the resort. The staff was very helpful, engaging and informational. My biggest gripe with the resort was the food and alcohol, found the food was not the best in terms of taste and presentation. Alcohol just was no the best, but again for the price you pay, you get. If these are the really big priority would recommend somewhere else, otherwise it is a great resort for the party scene and experiences.

Very large footprint. But in many ways that's great. Multiple pools and both ends, however the majority of restaurants were at the beach end. Not a problem as long as you don't mind a little walk. Being a adults only facility it was a little more party centered for my wife and I who are in our seventies. The only dis appointment was the food. Most of the multiple restaurants (buffet style) offered the same foods. Other than that the people, service and location was great.

The very first person we encountered was the best receptionist we have ever encountered. Her name is Esther, she had a beautiful smile to great us and was efficient/charming and answered all questions we had. From there is was a wonderful experience for all 3 of us. The beach is fabulous, the pools are great, all people in service were especially efficient. I do encourage giving a 1$ when you are served, if you are staying at a bar for awhile if you start with a bartender give him/her $5 and that will keep you happy for a couple days. Our preference to eat is the restaurant that is always open for the 3 meals and has inside/outside dining. The food and selections vary and are good. I especially liked the fruits from the Caribbean! They remember faces! The rooms are great, as well as the room service. Thank you, Esther, for starting our vacation with a great smile and service!

Excellent experience! Definitely would go back. It wasn't a luxury resort but the experience made it worth every minute to be there. The staff is super friendly and very respectful. The staff was on top of keeping everything clean after each person. The entertainment crew was awesome, positive vibes and great at keeping the party alive, ready to bring it everyday!

Riu República was amazing and even more than I expected - this all-inclusive only adults resort is perfect for your next vacation if you want to chill on the beach, any pools or around their cool areas, as well as if you want to party a lot as the place serves for it. Our room was large, spaced, always clean and supplied, and it had the prettiest view to the ocean. The staff was nice and willing to help you whenever needed (however they can seem a bit stressed sometimes, which is understandable, the place is always crowded). The food is good and there's always a lot to pick from for every meal, although they don't have 24h food (expect for their hot dog and nachos offer at the sports bar). Otherwise, food will be available from 6 am to 10 pm. The beach is white and clean and their ocean is perfect. Their parties (jungle and pink which are pool parties) as well as Wednesday's neon party are awesome. I look forward to going back very soon!

Great place to have fun or just relax. They should do better about keeping the main/party pool clean. The room keys are way too sensitive. We had to get new ones 4 times! Room/cleaning service is a bit slow when there's an issue. Nice stay overall. Would go back. Large resort. Something for every type of person.

This was the best experience I’ve ever had on vacation! For the price, I absolutely got everything I paid for and more. The facilities are amazing, well stocked, easy to use + beautiful: I couldn’t have asked for anything more with the pools, bars, clubs, and beach. All the staff were so friendly and kind, and the service we received was always fast and with a smile, to our rooms and around the hotel. The restaurants are easy to access, with great food, and the buffets are amazing with a wide selection of delicious options from all over the world. I always had the option of a taste of home or to try Dominican specialities. It was the best buffet breakfast I’ve ever had. The opening times of the restaurants were also really handy, with food and entertainment and activities available 24/7, and the beach is beautiful. Everything was clean and there are plenty of staff for each guest, meaning we never had to wait for anything. I really have nothing bad to say about this resort. The only thing would be a warning, which is that the resort is not near the town so you will have to book taxis if you need to leave the hotel, and the shop on the grounds is very expensive if you need to grab something small. Overall, I would love to return to Punta Cana one day, and if I am able to, I will stay here again without a doubt.

We are leaving here today and I'd move here if I could! Check in was a bit confusing but you have a beautiful place to hang out while waiting. The grounds are gorgeous with 7 pools and 2 that have swim up bars. There is access to the beach with lots of shade under glorious palm trees. Our room fresh and clean. They cleaned daily and we saw them washing the floors in the room and everywhere on grounds. The food was delicious and the variety is astounding. NOTE: It is nice and quiet during the day however overnight is quite loud all night on one side of the resort. The rooms do a decent job at deadening the sounds of the partying fun but bring ear plugs if you have trouble sleeping through noise! The service was great. Instant response to requests. Most personnel were cheerful and smiling..even singing! Fantastic value for the price! It's like a resort and all inclusive is the way to go!!

My wife and I came here for our honeymoon about a month ago and we absolutely loved it! The room was very nice, and was cleaned daily. We did have an issue with our toilet, but it was resolved in a timely manner. We visited most of the restaurants and with the exception of one place, they were all pretty good. The beach was beautiful, as was the overall look of the resort. We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly and we absolutely did not want to leave! We can definitely see ourselves visiting again sometime in the future.

Everything from the service, to the food, the lovely resort, the shows, the drinks, and even the management. Best of the Best I've experienced since travelling. Special thank you to the management Juan, and Victor. I will have to write another in depth review. I honestly had so much fun and I love the people. I love how peaceful it was at the resort, so much that there are two hotel cats. If you want amazing excursions, get it from the hotel, I saw dolphins, took pics with a monkey, parrot and so much more. The hash browns are the best, so was the steakhouse (burger). My partner and I tried to extend our stay but we could not!

I stayed here for 7 days and I loved it. There are pros and cons to the resort. The pros are that the resort has a beautiful landscape. There are many palm trees, huge pools to swim in, and the most beautiful beach. I went in the beginning of August and I have to mention that it was HOT. The pool water was also hot. This was a con for me because I felt like I could not cool off. The "party pool" always appeared murky and dirty but that wasn't a problem for me because I just swam somewhere else. There is a slight ant issue. I recommend never leaving drinks out in your room because it will attract ants. I will say that the staff is so kind but there is a language barrier and the one night no one at the steakhouse could tell me if the rolls had nuts which one of our members is very allergic to. I even pulled up the translation and the staff looked confused. Another pro is that I personally loved most of the food. A lot of people complain about it but I really enjoyed it. I had yogurt and pancakes with bacon most mornings and I really looked forward to it! Just a warning, there are no washcloths. This resort is what you make it.

Let's start by saying this resort is very big and lots of different things to do! 6 different pools and lots of space that its not crowed. Beach is very clean. Lots of entertainment! The food is great, if there isn't something you like they have tons of options. Two buffets, snack bar, tons of different restaurants and no reservations needed. Which is amazing. Now this is definitely not a 5 star resort. 😳 The service isn't good unless they see you with money. If you don't flash your money, you are ignored. There is never any beach towels available. You gotta wait for over an hour . But overall the resort is good.

Hotel is beautiful and our room was great. The receptionist was very nice when we checked in. Lots of pools to hang out at whether you want to relax there’s a more quiet side or the party side. Food was delicious. Hands down they throw the best parties you could imagine!! We got to go to the neon party and pink foam party. The beach was beautiful a little rough with the waves but it was fun. Only thing I can complain about was when we extended our stay for one more night the receptionist told us a set price and I paid that amount then luckily I realized that he charged us more than what he had said! So be careful

Spacious rooms. Buffet breakfast exceptional. Bars are mostly quick, but the availability of drinks restricted in smaller bars. Steakhouse is disappointing. Food average, Staff not the usual we experienced here. Jerk chicken at the "quiet pool" is the best I have ever had. Rooms serviced quickly by efficient, friendly staff. Walk to the beach is pleasant and close depending on which block you're staying in The grackles are a delight, cheeky, and entertaining with their swashbuckling cocktail attitudes.

This place is AMAZING. We stood last week of July and had the best vacation ever. The hotel service is IMPRESSIVE and they are very attentive! Your drink will never be low, you’ll never have to flag someone down, reach for a fork that dropped ever. We checked in 4 hours early and they had a room ready for us! The hotel is divided into a relaxing side and definitely the other side is a party side OF ALL AGES. There are so many things to do here! From playing volleyball, ping pong, dancing , watching entertainment live shows to just enjoying the quiet waves of the beach at night! To address some things… key cards DO work just don’t keep them by your phone Obviously Flies by food? It’s outdoor seating (some places) in Dominican Republic WHAT DO YOU THINK Concerned about towels for the pool running out ? Well then get there before 10 or pack your own towel 🤷🏻‍♀️ 10/10 will return !

Everything was beautiful and the food was delicious! The beach is so beautiful but the surf was rougher than expected, it's the Atlantic Ocean. Finding your tour bus / group was disorganized at first but once we arrived at the snorkeling excursion meeting place it was fantastic. The time on Catalina Island beaching, snorkeling and shopping was so enjoyable. Most of the people through out my stay were very warm and welcoming. Definitely would go there again!

Great all inclusive resort. The rooms are awesome, we were in 3112 overlooking one of the evening entertainment areas. A little noisy when there is a show, but everything ends before 11, so no problem there. The restaurant and buffet options are all great, staff is awesome, we tipped in American dollars ($1-2 at every meal) frequently and they remembered us and treated us like royalty! The pools are all great and the jerk chicken is a great option after afternoon drinking around the pool. Explore all the pools, they all offer a different atmosphere, depending if you want a quiet or active scene. Bring your own insulated cup for drinks, they'll put anything you want in it and it stays nice and cold! A $1 tip goes a long way with the bartender's also. A great overall experience, would definitely return here!

Just got back from vacationing at Riu Republica and as much as I wanted to love it, it just wasn’t what we were expecting. Beginning with the whole check-in process, they promote that as soon as you check-in they greet you with a welcome cocktail, instead of a drink, Darling greeted us with attitude with very little to no knowledge on the restaurants or events going on at the resort. When we got to our room, we realized the room itself was underwhelming. There were a lot of ants in the bathroom and around our bed. There was also a big window by the shower that when you turn on the light to the bathroom at night, the whole room lights up. After we showered we both noticed that the towels had a certain smell to it so we called front desk to bring us more towels while we were at dinner. Thankfully they did, but it turns out the there must’ve been something wrong with the plumbing because the water also had a horrible smell to it. Throughout our stay we noticed that the staff was extremely rude. There were times when we were at breakfast or lunch where the staff didn’t even acknowledge us or come up to us to offer us a drink. There were a few times where the bartenders would overlook us standing there and would have to wait until everyone else was serve in order to get a drink. I recall asking one of the bartenders what he was pouring for another guest and his answer was “I don’t know.” It’s not like it was gonna take him a whole process to make the same drink, it was being poured from the bottle and I was just curious to know what it was. I don’t know if any other Latinos have experienced this type of behavior or rudeness at this resort, but I can def say I will never be back to this resort or even recommend it to anyone personally.

We’ve been to this hotel two times both for two weeks trip. We were so fortunate to upgraded to the waterfront view high floor rooms in each of the trip. The buffet restaurant has everything offers which it’s our favorite because it doesn’t take time to wait and we have the freedom of picking anything we like. We tried the theme restaurants too - the Indian was great with many delicious dishes. Not a fan of the Japanese restaurant because lack of sashimi or fresh fishes. I love the fruit and we had lamp chops as well as other amazing dishes. The beach is so nice, wide sand beach with smooth sand. If you walk to the left to over Hard Rock Cafe the beach is even wider. So beautiful! The pools are nice. The only thing is it often have people stay yelling at 2-3am in the morning. Maybe the time was young people also traveling too. The security people usually very helpful to help keeping the place quiet.

Gigantic resort with lots of pools, some to party, some to relax which is great. The beach is absolutely beautiful. The drinks were great and the staff was very nice. Food wise I would give it a 3/5. Eatable but nothing spectacular. I was expecting more traditional Dominican food like another resort I went to but there was none. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Only thing that was terrible there was the wifi. Could barely use it, especially at night when you want/need it the most. All in all, 4/5 would stay here again.

Went during 2022-03-26 to 2022-04-02. Fantastic resort! Clean and well maintained with friendly service. Pools were always clean and drinks were on point. Specialty restaurants should have longer hours or more capacity. They rotate open/close for 3 and we missed our chance to try local Dominican cuisine. Shows, Entertainment and transfers to sister hotels was clean and painful. Rooms were great, showers always had hot water no matter what time of the day.

I wish I could give zero stars. Our room key never worked. We spent more time at the reception desk than we did enjoying our vacation. Staff was not helpful at all. I was very excited for this trip. But I do not recommend a stay at this particular hotel. I really wish things turned out differently.

Stayed at this resort got labor day weekend and I had a good time. This was actually one of my best trips. It wasn't too expensive. I loved that the pools stayed open 24/7. The staff was friendly even the ones who couldnt speak English. The food could of been better and the rooms :( the room definitely had insect problem. There's some swamps on the resort so there were spiders, ants, baby lizards and nets in my room... It was frustrating having to kill spiders and baby lizards multiple times a day.. I didn't even bother pulling back the covers on my bed cause I was afraid to see what it looked like. Other people that I spoke to who stayed on the resort had the same problem. I would love to go back to DR but I would not stay at this resort again. The insect problem is a deal breaker.

My family and I had a week vacation at this resort. The service, food and people were amazing! The vibe of this resort was exhilarating! My family had so much fun and there was always something to do. Unfortunately, there were issues with our rooms, however, once we brought it to their attention our rooms were switched with no issue. I know not everyone tips but I brought money for tips because the well-deserved employees appreciated it! Everyone is very accommodating and helpful. I would definitely recommend this resort and I will be back.

I spent a week over New Year's here and it was great. The seafood feast on New Year's was incredible. We had a good room. Never had to wait too long for anything. Buffet Houses seemed the best bet to eat. Party on The Beach on New Year's was awesome. The only complaint I have is they ran out of food and didn't keep up with the food at The Sports Bar which is the only place to eat in the middle of the night. Otherwise we had a great time. Lots of options for pools and bars. And always enough lawn chairs on the beach. Staff was always friendly and accomodating. If you go you have to try the Jerk Chicken on the way to the beach. Can't wait to go back

We just got back from a seven day stay at the RIU Republic. The rooms were just OK nothing special and very few electrical outlets. (take a power strip). The only real downer for the room is I couldn't get it cool enough for me. 77 degrees was as cool as it goes. The desk staff was exceptional. All were very friends but sometimes a language barrier for me. The restaurant staff was beyond awesome. Everyone was super nice and attentive and remembered you from day to day. Room service was great too. Always had clean towels soaps etc. Never had to ask for anything. The bartenders were plentiful and fast. Didn't wait long for a drink no matter how busy it was. And the bartenders were fun as well. The nightly entertainment was fun too. Always something going on. The food was all pretty good. Only restaurant I didn't care for was the Italian and the Japanese was our favorite. I would definitely recommend the location to everyone looking for a adult only all inclusive.

I’ve visited several RIU resorts but this vacay wasn’t what I expected. Upon arrival my room wasn’t ready, so I was asked to wait, but eventually was reassigned another room. Make sure you bring washcloths because the resort doesn’t provide them. Food poisoning on the second day. Expensive sun glasses were stolen. I inquired about them, but the clerk laughed and said it’s not lost and found it’s luck and found , He stated, it’s a 99.9% chance you won’t get them back. Water shut off at the resort for 4 hours. Based on our location the room was quiet. The room was neat and it appeared clean. The dining staff and bar staff were pleasant. It’s a large resort that has multiple pools and dining areas. Sports bar food is horrible. It’s a cool resort, but I can tell they cut cost , but as a result the guest are inconvenienced. Lastly, gift shop over charges. I forgot my sunscreen and was charged $40 for sunscreen.

Lots of amenities especially pools including swim up bars. Wide variety of foods and well presented. Most staff friendly and happy to help make our holiday. Special thanks to Daniel and Juan Carlos in Saona along with Brianna and Rafa. What a wonderful barman in Yuma in the pool bar, a very happy and tireless worker. I was known to all of them as Papa. A wonderful holiday.

100% would never stay here again. The staff were great and so nice. The rooms need a lot of maintenance, everything was falling apart. The safe didn’t work, so we kept things locked in our luggage and it was fine. There was only one working outlet near the bed. We had to get our key cards reset multiple times a day. Everything is just… old. The food was not good. Everything was room temperature, no matter what time you ate or where you went. We both ended up with food poisoning the day after eating at the Italian restaurant. The beach was probably the most enjoyable part, as long as you go to one of the ends away from where it gets super crowded. The water slides were fun too. Pay a little more money and go stay literally anywhere else.

We had to swap rooms after a day terrible mouldy smell, we looked at the mattress and it was filthy. Went to the reception desk and we was moved no issues and the room was great no complaints. The site is huge and impressive, all the staff from the room service, grounds people and the waiters never stopped working. The food and drinks are what you expect in an all inclusive, good thing is there is plenty of both. The beach is absolutely incredible, so much fun in the sea, prepare to get whacked by the waves. Overall a great holiday, much better than the reviews I read before coming here.

Good locations, Service was okay, but rooms were underwhelming. I liked the buffet food for lunch and dinner, access to the beach, and the service. However, there were a lot of negatives to this place. The biggest downside was the rooms. They are outdated, furniture is in desperate need of replacement and the AC was constantly broken and would not cool the room. Showers were also full of hard water and rust. The food for breakfast was awful. Not good at all. It was also hard to find reservations in one of the three different restaurants. Overall, we were a group of 6, we had a great time but the resort left us a bit disappointed as it is clearly not a 4 start resort. 3 at its best.

Facilities were okay. Couch inside the room was pealing away. Water pressure on the 4th floor was poor. This resort has excellent beach and the food is good. Avoid this resort if you are a non smoker. Everywhere there is smoke on the beach and around the pools. There is no escaping. The world is curtailing smoking but here it is rampant. Came back sounding like a smoker.

There were several problems and they began at check in: 1) Our first room had a moldy smell, we complained and they promptly changed the room. No bellman to help us transport our luggage across the vast hotel property and we had to lug them up the three flights of stairs because the elevator was so far from the room, it didn't make sense to go there only to walk all the way back to the room. 2) The hotel is very large it is like a community which makes it a long trek to get to the beach or restaurants. The hotel is also located in the less desirable residential part of town, which explains why it is a 1.5 mile drive from the gate to the lobby. You cannot just walk out of the property to explore the area (there is nothing to see/explore) 3)Each time I used the toilet, I had to call maintenance to flush because it does not flush unless I try repeatedly up to 4times 4)We noticed ants in our room 5) I had to call downstairs to request the room be cleaned, this was not automatic. 6)The best thing was the food, but ensure you speak enough Spanish to express your needs, as only the front desk speaks English.

Our experience here was amazing. We actually visited in December 2018 so this review is overdue, but still wanted to express how good the hotel was. Clean, great service, spacious and comfortable, very fun atmosphere and the food was very good. We can’t think of any cons during our stay, and can’t wait to come back.

The people who work there are awesome and have such good attitudes, food was great and the pools were clean and maintained, room cleaning and room overall could improve. no reception on tv have to use your phone to mirror screen and getting wash cloths is a act of congress, sheets were not changed. everything to be corrected needed to go thru an app.

My girlfriend and I really enjoyed our trip at Riu Republica. The daily entertainment, night shows, and staff were amazing. Rafael, Julissa, & Eli were outstanding Riu entertainment staff. They always checked in on us; Rafael played UNO with me, Julissa thought that I was Bruno Mars, & Eli was eager to get to know more about us. We were pleased with the food and buffet selections - Jorge made our experience amazing. He was always greeting us, ensuring we had drinks, & provided us with seating throughout our 7 day stay. The staffing environment was exceptional! My girlfriend and I, intend on returning to Riu Republica in the near future! We hope that the Disco will finally be open. Thank you for accommodating us and being positive.

I was just at this resort about 2 weeks ago. Most of the staff here is amazing, friendly greetings at almost every corner. House keeping great! The servers in the restaurant amazing especially at la altagracia. The reason I will not be going back to this resort is because for the love of God they will not give you a mask (face covering). They require you to wear a mask in all the restaurants as they all have some form of buffet style, which is very reasonable. But in the midst of a pandemic and for it to be a requirement, they WILL NOT give you a mask. I came with some of my own but after a few days there I ran out and I asked almost every desk and bar and they said they cannot give out masks, it was too the point a couple that was checking in over heard my frustration and offered me a mask. I will say I was truly disappointed that they cannot accommodate their guests with something that has become a necessity. Also many of their amenities were not available that they displayed on their website ( room service, 1 of the restaurants, the club will not open until December or January I was told, they will not decorate the rooms for special occasions, amongst a few other things)

The rooms aren't 5 star hotel quality but you won't be spending much time there. The resort is great with 10 restaurants and 9 bars so plenty of food and drinks (Just be sure to have the proper attire at dinner or they will ask you to go change). The service was great and friendly just be ready to turn down a few drinks because the party didn't stop until we stay farewell.

We had a wonderful time. The staff was very friendly. The accommodations was great. Loved the entertainment. You must try the jerk chicken from the hut on the beach. Endless food and drink options. We also loved the grounds. Will def visit more Riu locations.

The positives- food is great, a good variety of themed restaurants offers something different to eat nightly. Beach is beautiful, the water is not calm, I enjoy the waves, it's not too rough though. (If you want calm waters you'll need to go to La Romana.) The gym is fairly decent, it's a Hotel gym afterall. Service is good, very clean. The negatives- the showers. The showers on the beach to rinse sand off either trickle water or don't work at all. Rarely you'd get a decent amount to rinse yourself off. The shower in the room are, well, pathetic. You need a certain type of precision to find the right spot for the temperature, either you're using boiling hot water or border line cold water. Also the water pressure is sad, one night I didn't even have water for two hours, and most of the time the water just trickles out, it's enough to get the job done though. After two weeks here I'm happy I came and would definitely come back.

I came to this hotel 4 years ago and enjoyed my time but this time, everything was upside down. The rooms, the service, drinks, entertainment, everything is terrible this time. The first room I got, toilet was leaking, shower drains clogged, sofa was ripped like it was from 50 years ago. When I called the reception, they didn't pick up even when trying for hours. After they gave us new rooms, the new rooms lock mechanism didn't work. So every time we wanted to go in our rooms we had to go to reception and ask for someone to open the doors. Overall all the hallways and common areas were dirty. I don't recommend this hotel to anyone.

This hotel is pretty great. I travel to Punta Cana every year. 1st time here & thought this place has everything from a beautiful beach, large variety of restaurants (no reservations), modern clean rooms, and great entertainment. Servers are great & great Covid protocols with auto-sanitizers everywhere. Check-in takes roughly an hour; Wifi would be awesome while we wait. The grounds are beautiful. Went to the spa and tried the $199 package with facial, exfoliation, and full body massage. Really enjoyed the massage and felt pretty relaxed. My biggest problem is with getting into my room. The key rarely works. I'm on day 3/7 and have had to walk to reception 2-3x/day & starting to get blisters. Another visitor complained of the same thing needing to go multiple times every day for 9 days with no solution. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over without any change in the situation. I dread going to the room now. I work 10-12 hours/day in health care during the pandemic. I came to an all-inclusive to relax. It seems like I'm constantly running errands (1-1.5 hrs/day) when I just want to get off my feet & enjoy my stay. This place would be a perfect 5/5 without that daily hassle. Hopefully it gets better lol.

I read reviews on here before writing this. I disagree wholeheartedly with a lot of them. The staff was extremely kind and accommodating. Resort was kept clean and well maintained. The food was pretty good some restaurants were better than others but that is to be expected. Overall 5 star experience. Would definitely visit again.

I am writing this review while I’m still at the resort, on my last day prior to departure. The overall experience was decent, but definitely far from great. Rooms are of average condition. Imperfections and issues are definitely present like rust in the bathrooms and some damage here and there. Food is disappointing. Fruit was definitely the best part, otherwise honestly quite bad. Various restaurants on site all pretty much have the same food, that you can get at the buffet. Vibe is good. Lots of younger people, everyone looking to party and have a good time. Beach is nice as well. Staff is relatively nice, but you can tell this is a mid tier resort at best, not a lot of staff speaks English. Where your room is located will greatly impact your experience as well, lots of people coming back late slamming their doors throughout the night. Also the cleaning staff are constantly slamming the doors as well, which is very irritating. Decent experience, but definitely far from outstanding or anything that would warrant a return.

Good hotel and friendly staff. The resort is huge, a ton of pools and activities to keep you busy. Beach is nice, but water is rough - be careful. My only issue is the food - it was okay. The buffets were okay at best. The Chinese buffet was not good. The best restaurant was the steak house. Wish they had more late night dining options, only thing available is not so great hamburgers and nachos. There are plenty of bars and servers, so you’re never without a drink in hand. Hotel was great with facilitating Covid tests. When I visited the club was not open, wish it was as there was not a lot to do after hours. We did end up having our own beach parties though!

my husband, friends and I stayed at the Riu Republica recently. the resort grounds are very nice and well kept, the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The lines were long at check in, but that's to be expected because they hold check in time till 3pm for everyone. There's a variety of restaurants, the steak house and the buffet are good, I didn't care for the Italian restaurant, the food was very bland there. This resort has a very nice beach area and the pools offer a party atmosphere and entertainment from the staff. One thing I would have the staff fix is the COVID test procedure. The hotel provides a rapid test with verbal results 24 hours prior to departure, but you have to have the test printed for the airport and that's not ready until day of departure and the line is extremely long! We waited over an hour for our results to be printed. This made us miss breakfast before leaving the resort and almost miss our ride to the airport. The told us to expect and email of the results but we never received it.

My friends and I just got back from a 5 Day/4 Night stay at this resort. We booked through Apple Vacations. I recommend that website. Let me preface this by saying we are all in our early 30s, so we’re not just a bunch of spring breakers who think anything with alcohol is great. This resort truly is awesome. It’s not the most luxurious all inclusive, but it’s definitely not a dump either. I’d say it’s somewhere near the upper middle class of all inclusive resorts. The service is exceptional. The rooms were fine. The staff does an excellent job at keeping the rooms clean and stocked along with the entire resort clean and maintained. The food is decent as well. Not 5 star gourmet, but not bad either. None of us got sick from the food and we all tried almost everything available in all of the restaurants, so that’s a plus in my book Shout out to Felipe P. in the “main” buffet restaurant. He took excellent care of us as our server well as the time prior when my buddy visited the resort. The jerk chicken in the beach stand near the activity/party pool is a MUST try. It’s the best food in the entire resort. The sauce that comes with it enhances it even more. It’s not only great while you’ve been drinking, but it’s still delicious when you’re sober. That’s a tell tale sign that it really is good. We were able to sign up for excursions through agents that walked around the resort. No need to make any calls yourself or go off resort by yourself wandering. They take care of it all. We went to the “Scape Park”, however there are many other options as well. I definitely recommend checking this resort out. As I mentioned earlier, it’s not the nicest of the nicest out there, but this place is clean, maintained, excellent service and a great bang for your buck. Seeing as it’s an adult only resort, it’s more geared towards partying. Not saying you can’t have a chill, relaxing trip but there are certain areas of the resort I’d stay away from. My friends and I don’t mind that though, so when we go back to Punta Cana, we will definitely consider staying here again. 5/5 stars in our opinion! PS- Tipping well goes a long way. Don’t be a cheapskate.

We had an amazing deal! Awesome staff ( except the lady that sat us at the steak house... She wasn't having a good day.) The food at the buffet and the Indian restaurant were pretty good. The Asian restaurant was average, we didn't care much about the steak house. Ultimately, staff was great, beautiful views and decent entertainment!

Horrible horrible stay. For one I waited in a three hour long line to be checked in. When I got to my room it was not clean at all. The bathroom were dirty. The bedding had stains all over it and there were roaches in the room! Couldn’t believe my eyes. The complimentary food looked very unappealing as well as people digging their bare hands in the containers including employees who used rags to wipe things down and would go back to touch food! We had to make them wash dishes in the kitchen because they were dirty!! I can’t believe I spent all of this money on something like this ! Not to mention very very racist staff. Would not recommend! Other than my excursions, my stay was not good!

The location is beautiful with plenty of pools to go to. The ones by the beach are usually very popular with tons on people and very loud. But the ones, in the back of the property are nice and relaxing. So there is something for everyone. The beach is beautiful with plenty of lounge chairs and shade if you want some. The ocean has very strong current and strong waves. If you like something calmer, you should look at the Caribbean side. The service was good. We requested to move to a more quite side of the hotel and they were able to accommodate us right away. If you are by the main pool, things get super loud at night and people are super drunk specially after their pink parties. The rooms were clean but the towels were all super old. Hard, and like they were 20 years old. I had to continually ask for towels because they would forget to replace them. If they didn't forget to replace the bath towel, it was the hand towel, if not it was the floor towel. Also they would only allow you to replace your beach towels twice and most of the time they were out of towels. The food was terrible at the buffet but we made it work. Usually food was cold by the time you sat at your table and did not taste like anything. Meat was always overcooked, unless you requested a special cut with the chef. We tried the Italian restaurant and the food was cold, too. Our friends went to the Asian restaurant and got food poisoning. We had a massage by the beach which was incredible and the drink were great.
