DO NOT WASTE YOUR $$ TERRIBLE SNORKELING!! They tell you it’s snorkeling and all it is is 1 shark in a fenced in closed space and 1 stingray. No fish. The winds and waves were high. Terrible weather conditions and still chose to send us out there. There is NO reef. No calm sea. The catamaran is enclosed. No open mesh area to lay on. The glass sea bottom is about 3 ft by 4 ft. They take you out to the middle of the sea. Make you swim along a rope to get to the cages in areas. Climb over a fence and swim with white caps and “snorkel”. A complete joke!!! Go elsewhere!! I’m shocked Amstar recommended this!

It's the best one I've ever been on! Terrific staff and crew that are always helpful!

Very fun ride to and from the snorkeling area. Crew was great with fun entertainment. Snorkeling is okay, and you will see rays and nurse sharks in a confined area and some schools of fish but no corral reef life.

Negative - After sitting on the boat still, in the burning 🥵 heat for 30 mins, we were finally on our way. I have never felt sad for animals until this excursion. Not only were they so enclosed, their water also wasn't as deep as some excursions I've been on. The poor sea lion was made to stand on a table and kiss so many people a day broke my heart. The sharks and stingrays were in such a small enclosure as well. Too many of them to be in such a small enclosure. This is no way to live for any animals. I also did an excursion called, Reef Explorer and their animals were in deeper water with more room. I actually felt sad on this excursion and this is why I didn't participate much. These animals need deeper water and more room! I did the snorkeling with the sunkin submarine, swimming with the sharks and stingrays. Never again until they have a better home. Not a lot of food options either. The fruit was the best part. Positive - The staff were amazing! They got everyone involved. I wish I could remember the name of the woman that pretty much waited on me hand and foot. She was amazing. All the staff was. They have great attitudes, and make the party on the boat fun.

I highly recommend this establishment! It is worth the cost. I was able to swim with 8 sharks, several stingrays and countless fish. They have several activities including kayaking, paddle boarding, massages and snorkeling. You take a boat to and from the site and food is included. I will make sure to return when I come back to DC.

Amazing!!! We had the best time! It wasn't too crowded either. Snorkeling, a massage, swimming with Sting Rays and sand Sharks, stand up paddle boarding and kayaking. Plus they had snack foods. Fresh pineapple, coconut, sandwiches and chips and veggies. No alcohol but they had excellent smoothies as well.

Great trip in the Dominican Republic. Swimming with sharks and Sting rays. You get on a boat with about another 14 people ? And it takes you to a floating platform in the sea where you spend the next few hours. You can swim/ snorkel in the shark compound with nurse sharks or swim/snorkell in the Stingray compound. 1 worker brought a sting ray over to show me, because i didnt want to swim in there, only stood holding onto the steps. You can have a free massage, there's a choice of about 5 different ones to choose from. There are healthy snacks and drinks for you to have too. You can just lay or sit and relax in the sun or sunbathe. Great few hours.

Super fun trip. The reef around the station isn't outstanding, but you will see sea urchins, some fan coral, anemone, a bit of brain choral, cowfish, a d the traditional tropical fish. They often throw bread out to attract fish for you, too. The massages are fairly good and the smoothies rock!

My husband did this excursion for our honeymoon and we loved it. Perfect amount of time to be there and make it back to the resort and still get some sunshine from the day. We loved the paddle boarding and swimming with the fish, sharks, and sting rays!

This was too much. The waves were too much for me and several others. I felt there were not enough guides. It was so many people I could not enjoy the experience. Also everyone doesn't eat ham or cheese. I would have liked an option of maybe turkey. I'm glad I brought some snacks. This was my worst excursion.

I dont recommend going just for snorkeling, im Disappointed with it. there was no fish or anything and you had to swin into this Caged enclosed area. You get to hold a stingray and get a picture with it for $15. you are not allowed to take your own pictures which is ridiculous. you get to see 2 nurse sharks that swim at the bottom of the sea. After we head back to the boat we get drinks and food, for food we get a small ham and cheese sandwich. It was more like a party boat than snorkeling, there was lots of music and dancing, at the end we stopped at this area in the sea with many other boats, people went in the water and had a party. It wasnt terrible just not what i was looking forward to.

Great crew and very mild boat ride. Snorkeling was fun but only lasted about 45min while the rest of the boat ride took up the majority of the time but it was super fun with music and drinks, lots of them.

We enjoyed the scuba dive very much, swimming with the shark, sting rays and feeding the fish. We could have done without the ocean pool but it was ok too.

Great catamaran cruise with 2 stops. First stop is in deeper water where they give you a waist floatie and your snorkel gear. Snorkeling isn’t required. Second stop is in shallow water where you are served pre-mixed cocktails and just hang out with everybody on board. Many boats anchor together so there are hundreds of people in the water together- lots of laughter and splashing about. The music on board is super loud, so be prepared. Bring sunblock and towels and follow directions for a really great time!

The trip was excellent, Brenda (host) and the team were so helpful, the tour was great .the snorkeling team made sure we were all safe .If I were to add would be some more dominican/spanish music, I am totally looking forward to doing it again

Great afternoon excursion - tons of diverse fish species to see, and the snacks and massage are a nice touch. Would recommend as an alternative to the typical, dime a dozen "party boat" trips.

This was an excellent experience for our family. The crew were excellent. My wife does not know how to swim, but she was able to enjoy the experience since they assigned someone to guide her and move her around in the water. This is definitely more enjoyable if you have snorkeled before, but if you have not (like ourselves) you can pick it up quickly. The catamaran entertainment was very nice. Thank you Brenda.

Went here for the reef explorer. Plenty of fish when snorkeling. The weather was a bit rough and cloudy when we went so not the best conditions but still had a great time. Could not find the nurse shark though but did see the stingrays. Probably would have been more enjoyable if the ocean was calmer and less wind which wasnt their falt but it did make the water rough.

Fun time. Everyone on the boat is great, but we booked happy hour and there wasn't enough room for people to have fun and dance without bumping into other people. You only get chips to eat, so make sure you eat before hand. Also where they let you out to snorkel is rough and not-so-shallow waters, so if you're not a strong swimmer, I'd suggest you sit this one out. If you're over 5'5" you'll enjoy the beautiful blue shallow waters at the end of the trip. We also arrived back to the port almost an hour late, so the bus almost left us there.

We had a magnificent excursion. The staff was friendly. The accommodations were very nice. The price was very reasonable. Though I prefer to see animals in their Unrestricted habitat. At least this was in their natural waters.

We took the happy hour cruise which was a fun outing for our group of 10 girls. There are 2 stops- 1 is for snorkeling and the other is waist high water to hang out and drink in the beautiful blue water.

Very amazing experience to do. If you ever have the chance, DO THIS!! At first we got to swim with the tropical fish and then went into where they had the sharks (not sure what kind). Was nervous at first but once I noticed they didn't really want anything to do with us, I was good lol. I got lost of pictures and videos with my gopro. Then we got to swim over to see a stingray and hold it for a picture.

What a beautiful place. Team of snorkeling were so friendly and helpful. Music and entertainment was out of the charts. Great service and great people. Must visit them.

depressing enclosure too small for even the few rays (maybe singular?) and nurse sharks it holds. waters outside it are nice.

  • 2/5 David R. 8 months ago on Google
We didn't seem to get much out of what was a long day. With the long drives to and from the park, with annoying and loud American passengers (just American passengers I guess), we seemed to spend a lot of time waiting around or wasting time on a sandbank. We wanted to swim with the sharks and stingrays, and not only are they kept in small enclosures, but they also had to put up with 30 odd people splashing around in said enclosure at once. Once the stingrays have been repeatedly grabbed for an extortionatly priced photo, you then leave the enclosure and head back to the boat.

This was a beautiful experience! We went on 1/27 at around 8 or 9am. The boat ride was so relaxing and fun and the host (I forgot his name), the ocean was beautiful. I was a little scared but the staff was very nice and helpful. Special thank you to Jose for helping my dad and letting me swim with the fish. (: I didn’t want to leave the ocean by the end of the snorkeling. The sandbar pool was fun. There were drinks in the water, the staff was entertaining and there was music. Overall one of the best experiences of my trip to Punta Cana 🏝️🌊🩷

This was one of the best excursions we went on! Absolutely worth the money ! The staff is AMAZING! Franklin, angel, and Jonathan were some of the nicest people we have ever met. They guided us whenever we needed any type of help and even assisted one of us with swimming. We felt so comfortable here and will be planning on coming back !

It was a wonderful and relaxing experience. Snorkeling on the reef and getting to see the fish was awesome. The massage after was very relaxing after swimming around the outside of the marinarium. Highly recommend this if you love being in the water with the fish!! There is also the opportunity to swim with the sting rays and nurse sharks and to use motorized propellers to move you through the water. It was a great time.

Our excursion was excellent- from start to finish! Santos Rosado, our driver, was so friendly and welcoming. He communicated how many stops and how long to the destination to and from the boat. The excursion itself was beautiful and so much fun- absolutely worth your money. All of the staff was kind and willing to go above and beyond to help us enjoy ourselves. You won’t be disappointed!

We went in June and had a good time. During our trip no alcohol was permitted by the DC government which sucked but the staff made up for it. They danced during down time and gave good information about the local wildlife and surroundings. The food was just ham sandwiches and was nothing special. The snorkeling was amazing in the crystal clear waters. A couple of people in our group had some issues with their masks so we wish they had better ones. Swimming with the nurse sharks was fun. There was only a couple of sting rays to swim around though. They let you take a picture with a sting ray but made sure nobody from your group was taking a picture off to the side (as is common for most places). We wish the animals weren’t captured or atleast were just rescued animals which wasn’t the case. They said the sting rays stingers had been removed so it’s assumed they were captured. After the snorkeling they took us to a swimming area. The water was dirty and not clear when we went but the host said it’s normally clear water and was just a bad time for this particular area to swim. Overall this was an awesome excursion.

It was OK. The crew did a good job but the people that sold us on the trip left some facts out. Do not rely on their equipment. Bring your own floating rings, masks and flippers.

The Reef Explorer was a great excursion and well worth the price. There are a lot of options to fill your time there. First off, the view was breathtaking. The snorkeling was gorgeous by the reef. It was almost unreal how many tropical fish you see. You snorkel above nurse sharks and stingrays. It even includes massages. My only qualms were that towels were not provided and it was not stated that one should be brought with you. Also out of 8 massage stations, only 2 were for foot massages, so there was quite a wait for that. Also I wish they were a bit more open from the beginning about what time we were leaving. I almost missed a dinner reservation. Overall, an experience I enjoyed and would do again.

This is a great excursion. The crew is entertaining. Snorkeling over the reef and with the nurse sharks & stingrays was really cool. We felt safe the entire time. After the snorkeling session, the drinks flowed freely, even non-alcoholic specialties for the kids. Coco-Loco is their specialty. The dance music was pumped up for a nice 30-40 minute ride to the sandbar party area. The sandbar was really fun. The water was 4 to 5 feet deep. They provide floats so the vertically challenged can easily stay above water. We wish they would have gotten to the sandbar sooner so that we could have had more time there.

Very expensive for just 4 hrs. The other animals you'll see as soon as you get off the bus are not impressive. Is just 2 min. And you'll have seen everything. The snorkeling itself consists of swimming to a natural reef (about 7 minutes) then you'll get to a caged-in area where you will see nurse sharks. They are at the bottom, not very easy to see. Next you'll be seeing stingrays, again not what I expected. Afterwards you'll be taking to a natural swimming pool. Took half hour boat ride. You'll get to listen music and dancing ,you'll be treated with ham and cheese sandwiches, cookies and drinks. The natural swimming pool lasted less than 20min.

This was a great opportunity to snorkel and see local marine life and a small part of the reef. The staff was courteous and encouraged everyone to take part in the activities, snacks and all that they had to offer.

It's good. Transport was very efficient. Waiting area and boat were very clean, they bring good energy even early morning. Service was very very good, snorkeling area was great, saw lots of fish (bring bread from the boat!), Saw the sharks and rays in the kennel area. Holding the sting ray for the photo was my favorite part. The guys dancing and playing in the water getting the party started helped the experience. Only lower points, rum punch was kinda terrible (I threw it over the side and drank water!), though there are sodas and beer as well. The sandwiches are comically sad, and the other snack is creme sandwich cookies. One of the helpers came around and said now is the time to tip as we filled out surveys. As he awkwardly stood there, didn't ask anyone else, and the lead guide asked again from the whole boat later, I'm pretty sure he just pocketed that away from the others. Minor stuff, I saw a similar excursion on the way out which had the boat to capacity and a smaller snorkel area, so I think this operator is a good choice.

Better excursion for a younger crowd! My wife and I had headaches by the time we returned to the dock! I would not recommend this for the average senior citizen.

Awesome place to snorkel with your kids. The water is nice and clear and has lots of fish.... my daughter and I had a blast snorkeling with stingrays and sharks 🦈

The day could have been better. It was cloudy and the water was very choppy. It would have been nice to see it on a clear day and calm water. Maybe I could have given it a 5

This was one of the best snorkeling/party boats I have ever been on! My boyfriend and I had a blast. You can literally see hundreds of fish in the pictures I posted and that’s just from the boat! The staff was amazing, we had a very memorable experience. Got to see so many fish, a shark, and swim with the sting rays! My boyfriend even pet the sting rays. The water was so clear and beautiful. The boat had a bar tender who was great and an awesome DJ! Totally made our trip in Punta Cana!

  • 3/5 Jeff C. 2 years ago on Google
Not the best. Not the worst. Went in the rain because of the refund policy. No flippers provided. You enter a water encloser to see some marine life. Best part was we stopped on a sand bar and danced with the drinks they provided.

Fantastic time! Swim with the sharks and sting rays, snorkeling and the best party boat! Brenda was awesome!
