Floating market at Lok Baintan. You can go to this place to enjoy the traditional way of Banjar people trade on small boats. You can rent a boat from the dock then sail the river for about 45 minutes to reach the market. You should leave at 5:30 AM from the dock. Once you’re here, local seller with small long boat will approach your boat to offer their stuff, mostly fresh fruits, traditional snack, food, and souvenirs. This floating market ended at around 7:30 AM before the sun gets too hot.

Ive been here for like 4 times and it is my fixed itinerary if im travelling to Banjarmasin. Maybe other person will get bored by this place, but i just want to feel the traditional vibes. And i like it because its one of a unique an Indonesian culture. Even though some sellers tend to force you to buy their things, but im still enjoy it. What do you expect from a traditional market, right? If you have more time in banjarmasin, dont forget to visit this place. And for your information, if you stay in swisbelhotel borneo, you will get a free trip to Lok Baintan in the morning. They will start the trip at 6AM and will be back at the hotel at 8:15AM. I heard they also have a trip for any people for about 200k round trip, with free breakfast at the hotel. But you need to make sure about this first, hehe.

The Lok Baintan Floating Market in Banjarmasin is one of the tourist destinations in Banjarmasin. It is an exciting shopping in the floating market or just looking around. Traded include fruits such as oranges, bananas, salted fish and ready-to-eat food.

Basicly it is a market above the water. Instead of using foot or motorcycle, they used boat to sell and buy things. The item from vendors has many variety. From natural harvest like banana, orange, sawo etc. Their taste is very good, most of them ripe by the tree. Besides that, they also served snack and breakfast like nasi kuning. Up to souvenir like t-shirt and accesories. To get there, you need to rent a boat from banjarmasin, around rp 400.000 and can accomadate up to 14 persons. You need to biard the ship around 5 AM in the morning, so you will arrived in location around 6AM, the best time to shop.

(Translated by Google) cool unique tours. the trip since the time of dawn pays off during the Martapura river which offers a natural view mixed with river human civilization. say hello to people who are active in the morning on either side of the river. just wave your hand from the boat. approximately one and a half hours boating from Victoria hotel, the boating merchant "stormed" the buyer's boat. they are friendly, cheap prices. just shop at will while photographing the various uniqueness of the Baintan floating market, a legacy that must be maintained. (Original) wisata unik yang keren. perjalanan sejak habis subuh terbayar selama menyusuri sungai martapura yang menawarkan pemandangan alami bercampur peradaban manusia sungai. sapalah orang-orang yang sedang beraktivitas pagi di kiri kanan sungai. cukup lambaikan tangan dari perahu. kurang lebih satu setengah jam berperahu dari hotel victoria, pedagang berperahu itu pun "menyerbu" perahu pembeli. mereka ramah, harga murah. belanja saja sesuka hati sambil memotret aneka keunikan pasar apung lok baintan, warisan yang mesti terus dipertahankan keberadaannya.

A free trip from our hotel (Swiss-Belhotel). Nice view along Martapura river *the locals was taking their shower 😅 The LokBaintan market itself was lovely. The sellers will force you to buy their goods. Just be kind and do not nego. They are all local peoples who dont earn much. We bought all the rice packs from many sellers and give it back to the them for breakfast. The kue was nice amd delicious. Highly recommended.

Experience the local floating market while you visit Banjarmasin. It takes around 40 min by boat from Banjarmasin. Don't miss the opportunity to enjoy the sunrise while you are on boat. Take some pictures.

It takes about 40 minutes from the city of Banjarmasin. The floating market will start from the dawn for about 4 hours daily. The local people sell local products such as fruits, meals, souvenirs, etc. You should rent a local boat that can fits for about 10 people for 100k IDR.

Very authentic activity for traditional market on the water...with rural beautiful surrounding scenery, pleasant people and something special word between buyer/seller to say "Buy" and "Sell" upon trading which mean to become "Halal" in Islam ways...

Fruits are also fresh, and if you do a good deal, you can cut them even more. It is highly recommended if you want a different landscape and experience. (Translated by Google) Lok Baintan Floating Market or Sungai Martapura Floating Market is a traditional floating market located in Sungai Pinang village (Lok Baintan), Sungai Tabuk sub-district, Banjar. In general, Lok Baintan Floating Market is no different from the Floating Market at the mouth of the Kuin River / Barito River. Both are traditional markets on the djoekoengs that sell a variety of merchandise, such as agricultural / plantation products and last for not too long, a maximum of about three to four hours. This floating market has existed since the era of the Banjar Sultanate. Along the coast of Lokbaintan Martapura River, a convoy of boats is seen heading to the floating market location. This boat belongs to traders and farmers who will market their garden products. They come from various tributaries of the Martapura River, such as the Lenge River, Bakung River, Paku Alam River, Saka Bunut River, Madang River, Tanifah River, and Lok Baintan River. To get to the Lok Baintan floating market from the city center, two alternatives can be reached. The first alternative is to go along the Martapura river using a klotok, a type of motorized canoe. With klotok, the journey from downtown to the floating market is fairly fast because it takes 30 minutes. The second alternative is to use land vehicles such as cars. However, for the second alternative requires more time, which is one hour to reach the floating market. That was caused by the travel field that tends to be heavy and tortuous.

(Translated by Google) The Lok Baintan Floating Market is in addition to a unique tourist spot at the end of the countryside with a beautiful river (Martapura river), this floating market is the only market on the river in Indonesia. Its uniqueness is that apart from being able to see the natural beauty of rivers in the countryside, we can also enjoy the sight of the boats milling about and swaying selling various kinds of basic daily necessities, such as: rice, sugar, wet and dry fish, cooking oil, vegetables, cakes, fruits, and also boat stalls that sell various types of food and drinks typical of South Kalimantan. If you are on vacation who comes from outside Kalimantan, it will be a loss if you don't visit this one tourist spot. Regards. (Original) Pasar Terapung Lok Baintan itu selain tempat wisata unik di ujung pedesaan dgn alam sungai yg indah (sungai Martapura), juga pasar terapung ini adalah satu2nya pasar di atas sungai yg ada di Indonesia.
