Traditional market. They area selling jewelry stone, from diamond ruby sapphire amethyst etc. Lot of motif and craft. Most of of them are done manually, so don't expect high precision laser cut here. The price is quite low compared to the mall. It's great to find souvenir for your loved one. Beside jewelry store, you can find souvenir shops that selling clothes and textiles.

Interesting place to buy some jewel and gem, original but you have to use your intuition to recognize the stuff. As long as the price reasonable, you can buy the small diamond for replacing your diamond ring. I spent about Usd 10 for replacing small gem. Also available store for traditional fabric (sasirangan). No public transportation available. You have to rent a car. But now there is Grab service from Banjarbaru or Banjarmasin.

Basically, this Batuah Market sells almost everything from fabric, food, accessories, shoes, event something like building materials. There are a lot of local product, too. The prices are very cheap, but it is not quite comfortable for you to walk around because there is very hot. If you want to find something very local, this is the best place to visit. I have brought my own friends from German, Belgium and Japan here and they agree that this place is the best for finding local products.

This is the diamond market, sasirangan cloth (traditional ethnic from Banjar tribe), and others. Banjarmasin to Martapura market maybe for about 45 minutes.
