The grounds are kept beautifully and well maintained. Rooms are basic and clean if you get a garden or beach view one, however blocks A and B are damp, dark and cell like. I paid extra for an upgrade to garden view. The free breakfast supplied is VERY basic and not well presented. Meals paid for are very different being freshly prepared, good quality and excellent value for money. Drinks prices at the bar are good to, and the pool area is always clean and tidy. The staff are mainly friendly and helpful. Free wifi in the bar area is very weak and intermittent, this is something that in 2020 really should be updated and available over the whole site or the hotel may loose out to the newer more modern hotels developing nearby. The Gala events on Christmas and New Years eve were a lovely free event but a bit a chaotic. It might have been easier if each table was called individually to receive food rather than mass queuing. The sound system for the entertainment should have also been checked and in working order so as to not let the artists down by appearing unprepared and amateurish. On the whole I enjoyed my stay but in comparison to the more modern design and developments locally to the Holiday Beach Club I feel they might do better if they improve their services and all rooms to a higher standard. I enjoyed my holiday but was just a bit disappointed that it cost extra to achieve reasonable standards with both rooms and food.

The grounds of Holiday Beach resort are amazing. You will be delighted with the greenery, plants, trees and birds that cover the resort. Rooms have no television. Also, you have to hire / buy the following - AC, Fridge, iron, kettle. Cups and cutlery are not supplied and you have to ask for a cup for your room, but they will chase you up if you do not return the item They are lacking on basic items such as glasses and mugs and no visitors are allowed unless you pay them an additional fee. We had visitors come for a day and were told that we have to take them elsewhere. This is during the day. I think it is great that that is in place however when you have limited time on the island to visit everyone it makes sense for them all to come in one day. This did not stop the enjoyment. Staff were brilliant. Very accommodating. I would stay again even though they do charge you for nearly everything. Breakfast was the same everyday. Chicken sausage fried eggs, vegetables and European breakfast I.e. cereal and fruit. Evening entertainment was great drummers and dancers Does not go on for too long. Excellent location, basically at the bottom end of the strip so easy to get home no need for taxis just a lovely little walk back to the hotel I have stayed in other hotels in the Gambia, but Holiday Beach stood out simply due to their azing grounds. Staff happy to get you coconut from the trees. Easy access to the beach and lots of monkeys around the resort amazing!!!!

I gave 4 stars because I feel there is always room for improvement in any establishment. I loved it there. My room was good and right on the beach. Great views. There was a small problem with the bathroom door it was reported but nothing done. Least of my worries. Breakfast was ok. A bit repetitive but I chose how to mix it up. Beware of the monkeys especially if you eat bananas @breakfast. Everywhere was clean. The staff worked hard and very friendly. To say its basic is not fair. I had a bed and facilities. It was up to me to enjoy it. I did. I also would like to praise the unsung heroes. Security and the laundry ladies. We know about security. Laundry?. You have clean towels and sheets. All washed by hand. Give them a thought when you are having a good time.

You can see lots of wildlife around the well kept grounds. The rooms are basic but what you expect in Africa. The pool is nice and the staff are very friendly and don't hassle you. The breakfasts are basic with not much choice. The hotel is close the the Senegambia strip and the walk from the hotel to the road is a delight if you like wildlife close up.

Very basic but conveniently located. Be prepared to pay extra for everything, A/C, fan and fridge. Rooms very outdated and not very clean. Good pool but impossible to get a sunbed as they are all saved. No kettle, cups, plates so no idea why the rooms have kitchens.

Basic, but in all truth a really really lovely place situated perfectly for the strip and beach. This year the hotel food and drinks are really well priced so no need to go anywhere! Only grumble if anything is the breakfast is too basic and can be hectic at 9am (witching hour). Everyone comes back year after year and that says it all....

Very clean friendly staff safe closed off section of beach beautiful gardens Breakfast not bad most hotels here offer them same choices of food. Draw back too many moneys in the grounds and can be quite intimidating 😳

This is one of the best place I have ever visited in the Gambia. Beautifully maintained nice sand beach with sunbeds & beach Bar. A very good and clean swimming pool. Nice Restaurant with very good food served. It is also a very quite peaceful surrounding. I loved my entire stay there. Thanks a lot Team HBC..

Excellent place, wonderful, friendly staff. Some rooms are a bit tired looking but you only sleep there so it doesn't matter ❀️

Great hotel, very friendly staff, food good, breakfast very basic but adequate. Rooms basic but cleaned daily. Beautiful gardens and pool and great location. The only thing that really let's it down is the internet WiFi., It's only available in reception and even then it's not always working. Management really need to get it sorted as it's letting the hotel and lot's of visitors are complaining and saying it's putting them off from returning !!!!!

Great if you're looking for a no-frills buget hotel. Fantastic hardworking and friendly staff. Lovelly managed grounds. Resident and active monkey tribe. Basic restaurant with even more basic breakfast. 300 meter dusty driveway leading onto busy restaurant, bar, taxi and ATM strip. Negatives:- Unlike other local establishments it seems that HBC subscribe to the most basic Internet connection and only 50 meter Wifi coverage beyond reception. No credit cards here, is a Cash Only site. However reception make exchange into local currency at national exchange rate, without commission I believe. The bars and resturant are NOT provided with adequate Small Change so save up any 20, 50 or 100 notes to get or be prepared to significantly over-tip. Not the fault of the staff, who are continually embarrassed by this situation. DANGER -------------- The swimming pool has many razor-sharp broken tiles to the underwater ledges. Within 7 days I witnessed 4 significant foot or hand injuries, to which HBC management play only lip service with no evidence of setting about repairs.

Beautiful gardens, pool, staff! Rooms cleaned well by lovely Fatou C block. No access directly on to beach when high tide, then you have to walk down steps. The monkeys are amazing coming to you on your balcony for food, watch your stuff around the pool as these monkies are little thieves but so funny when you see them drinking a can of coke through a straw! Breakfast not much to shout about tbh. I would return, as you are away from noise but close to everything!

The hotel badly needs a makeover. The restaurant food area is continuously dirty, the bar is bleak, the internet is only available in the reception area and more often than not doesn't work there either and what can I say about the breakfast...... absolutely shocking, without doubt the worst we've had anywhere in the world. This hotel doesn't even deserve the two stars TUI gave it.

I am staying in a neighbouring resort and can hear them until 5 am most nights. Spoke to unhappy guests in local restaurants and bars and they described it as Inbetweeners movie style.

This is the second time I stayed in this hotel. It’s very clean. Nice and friendly staff. The location is perfect. There is a family feet to it. Good value for money.

I stayed here Xmas/ new year 2019. Basic but clean and tidy room. I stayed at the nearby Kairaba 3 years previous. This was a third of the price but not a third of the quality. I would stay again to be near the centre of the nightlife/local restaurants. Not at all bad for a 2 star hotel complex. Yes you have to pay extra for a few things but it's Africa so not expensive if you need said luxuries.

Fabulous setting. Rooms very clean. Basic breakfast which varies little and becomes tedious although you can buy a good full English at most of the restaurants outside

We went in February. The hotel is basic but very clean and the staff were incredibly helpful if necessary. I will definitely be returning and would recommend to others . Some evenings there is entertainment and the food served at the Pool bar/ restaurant was very nice

Loved staying here. The rooms are basic but clean and the staff are great. The only thing that let it down was the entertainment...there is something every night except sunday but not really my taste. That is a personal issue and not the fault of the hotel and there is lots to do in surrounding area.

We had the most amazing 10 days at the holiday beach club as we were there for a wedding. Every single employee, without exception, was so friendly and welcoming, from reception to the gardeners, lovely people everywhere! We stayed in a superior family room and it was perfectly adequate. The beds were comfortable and we had a lot of space and a balcony area. The hotel provides a lot of entertainment, from pool aerobics, water polo and water volleyball, to evening cultural entertainment. The cultural shows were brilliant, I could listen to the singing and drumming all night! (I will just say that the weekly saxophone performance was not the vibe they may be hoping it is.) I wish I could thank everyone there at the hotel who contributed towards us having such a wonderful experience in beautiful Gambia. We are truly grateful for all the smiles, information, well wishes, high-fives and entertainment.
