Inspired by the vlog by Kripal Amanna, did a 120 Kms (one side) trip to taste the famed Bannur Mutton @Bannur Military Hotel on a Sunday.... Bannur Military hotel (Ramaswamy hotel) located on the Bannur main road. Good variety of mutton and chicken dishes, all cooked in home made masalas. No over use of masalas and other spices, taste of the famed Bannur mutton is excellent. Place is not luxurious, but clean and family friendly, staff is very friendly and efficient, prices are cheap compared to Bangalore.

Folks travelling to Mysore via Bannur....please plan your lunch here if you are pink meat lover. This is the place to enjoy with friends and family. Meat is cooked to the perfection and very mildly spiced preparations. Mr. Ramaswamy is a gentleman and his team were very courteous enough to serve a great meal. Must try and recommended !!!

One of the best spots to enjoy a non-vegetarian meal while on the way to Mysore or back. The mutton pulao is fragrant and mildly spiced and extremely flavourful! We also enjoyed the ragu mudde with some yummy mutton fry. Definitely worth the visit as we got some home to have for the next meal too 🤤

The place is really a treat for the nati style food lovers. The place has limited menu but each dish is excellent in its own way. The mutton keema and mutton chops are the signature dishes of the place. Not to forget the egg boti fry. The Biriyani here is okok. But who goes to a military hotel for a biriyani. And also they make everything in very limited quantities. So make sure you visit the place at between 12.30 to 2.30 for lunch so that you don't miss out the entire menu.

This place is famous for Bannur Mutton ( a special kind of premium sheep) originally called Bandur Mutton. The mutton is very juicy because of a fat layer in netween flesh and the prices are very reasonable as well. We ordered Mutton Pulao, Mutton Korma, Mutton Kaima and Chicken Pulao. Each and every dish was filled with spices and had a different taste. Apart from being a bit far from Bangalore, rest all the things fell in place. But the food was worth the trip. The staff were extremely respectful.

This place is on the highway! It's a great place for mutton biryani and also other dishes as well. I would recommend mutton biryani and the khima undae!

Bannur around 30 kms from Malavalli is known for sheeps rearing. Biryani here was not upto the mark but the mutton pieces are real magic here. The flesh is so soft and it just disappears once you chew it and these pieces enriches the taste of the rice and 160/- for mutton biryani is really worthy. The ones travelling to Mysore via Kanakpura-Malavalli from Bengaluru can make a stop here.

The day we visited place was relatively crowded with just couple of tables empty. First an foremost the show stopper was kaima balls and the next best thing was mutton chops.Nati chicken fry was cooked to perfection and was spicy . Quantity and quality is good for the price and must say pricing is perfect. One great thing that I liked is the owner's were running the show , talking to customers and greeting them. Mutton pulav is mildly flavoured , so it justifies the name. So don't keep high expectations when you walk in.Its not an out and out pakka nati style as it quiet mild in flavour.

One of the best places to have mutton(Bannur mutton). It almost feels like home food and the quality of the meat is too good. A must have if you are traveling on this road. Iconic destination for country dishes alike ragimudde, Natikoli kurma, Mutton biryani, kaima sambar are tasty and flesh of the mutton is so soft, tendor disappears easily in mouth. All food items are mouthwatering 😋 and yummy to savour. Must try place on highway.

Felt the food was average in taste & serving wise. Chilli chicken was a show stopper, spicy & very delicious, ordered an extra plate other dishes were passable.

Authentic Mutton pulav and naati koli kurma. Bannur / Bandur mutton is grass-fed and known for its melt in your mouth fat content. Locally sourced ingredients is the way to go. Dishes are served with a smile. It's a family run establishment, and they treat you like a guest. Must visit during lunch time if you are travelling to/from Bangalore to Mysore on Kanakapura - Malavalli rd. Plan accordingly.

This military Hotel serves the much famed Bannur biryani. We tried there mutton biryani, and it was pretty good. Mr Madhusudan at the counter was quite helpful, and the place was clean. This is certainly a biryani to try if you’re passing that way. Accessibility score: two on five. This place is not accessible with wheelchairs, and persons with blindness can visit this place with assistance.

Doesn’t live up to the expectation, disappointed! After going through the various food vlogs and hearing so many positive reviews, we drove all the way from Bangalore to this place. The mutton pieces in the biryani was neither tender nor well cooked, however the pulav was OK. We also ordered thale mamsa , mutton fry, keema balls which were kinda OK too. Bottom line there is nothing special about this place not worth the drive, you have much better military hotels in Bangalore

It's a nice small place. Friendly service, and decent food. If you want any particular item, it's better to check with them on phone in advance. Mutton dishes are good.

Rode down to this hotel from Bangalore for a Sunday biryani brunch. We tried the chicken biryani, mutton biryani, some chicken starter and mutton Keema balls. The rice was flavorful but the meat could've been cooked better (chicken) Overall, it's a satisfying biryani. The mutton Keema balls was a good choice! The staff is courteous and happy to help.

Chilli chicken was prepared in Manchurian style, I didn't like....

A tasty pulav indeed, loved the fact that meat was tender and juicy. Would definitely revisit again on my way to mysore.

Today I went second time this hotel, Compare to first time mutton biryani taste not same, keema must try dish, other dishes like boti and all everyone won't like, because they no too much spices added. One more thing here we won't get Bandoor/Bannur ship mutton, supplier he only told us it's a normal desi/Nati type mutton, not pure Bandoor/Bannur ship mutton. Hotel name is included bannur😅 If your near to Bannur, you what try nati style food, this hotel could be considered.

We had 2 no's Mudde Ragi ball 15*2=30 2 no's half ghee rice 30*2=60 1no's boti 1*100= 100 1no's chilli Chiken 1*100=100 1/2 ltr water 10rs Total 300rs

Derived from banglore to eat mutton but it was over by then, please visit early noon for mutton or call before visit. How ever owner treated well and gave banana as compliment.
