After getting some pretty good reviews about this place, we decided to finally give it a shot. The slightly hidden establishment, with its less than modest entrance and modest seating arrangements can initially give an unimpressive vibe. But it made way for a satisfied grin in my case. The food is good. We tried a variety of kebabs including paneer, ajwain fish tikka, chicken and mutton. All of them were perfectly cooked and pretty tasty. The main course was also excellent with the naans being soft, the chickens being flavourful and the rice being full of whole grains. The preparation we did not like was the pindi chola, which was so dry that it almost choked some of us. The only downside is the service. The people are hospitable, but the time they take to serve an order is tortuous. I have seldom had longer wait times at a restaurant serving these basic dishes. However, pocket pinch is decent. Recommended.

Good food and friendly staffs. Ambience is also nice. Just opposite to the Acropolis Mall. Easily recommended. Some Kebabs take time to serve. Tried the Mutton Biriyani and Mutton Adrak Ki Panje is delicious. Check out the pics shares for reference. Thank you so much for reading this review. Have a great day ahead. Note : Please try the firni as well, one of the best I have tasted till now.

    # Food review: What we ordered for 2:: Mutton adrak ke punje(starter), Butter naan, Fish butter masala and raita. Starter was really good, tasty and worth every single Penny. Butter Naan was awesome.. tasted more towards baby naan. Fish butter masala was not satisfactory at all w.r.t. taste and quantity. Raita was also awful as it was mercilessly sweet.. i don't know which authentic Punjabi prepares such sweet raita.. misti doi would have been a better option (LoL). # Ambience review: It seemed more like a fish market with so many people/tables adjacent to one another. It was too much noisy and chaotic for us. # Service and courtesy review: Considering the price and fame(awarded by ToI) that Punjabi Rasoi is tagged to, the service is not impressive at all. No wash basin if u sit upstairs .. Will have to step downstairs. Finger bowls are served without even asking that too in the middle of the meal. They don't have time and patience for the customer to call it ends. Wrong Bill is provided for payment on top of it they affirm mistakes are obvious. ------- People don't come and pay for fine dining just for eating, but also for a decent service. Even our road side Haji Biryani is outstanding taste and quality wise, and at that same price we as customers don't keep expectations for a wonderful service or etiquette. But when restaurants like Punjabi Rasoi claim their endorsements from Times of India, they really need to act so. In short, the experience to us was nothing more than a regular food joint or a Punjabi Dhaba... By the way Punjabi dhaba people are way more courteous and serve the authentic taste.

One fine place to visit and have good punjabi food! Loved the place and food. Pure Punjabi food with little expensive at times, but worth every rupee. Ask the place for their must try , menu is huge and there are tons of variety to enjoy the food with. There is no pre-booking/reservation, its purely first come first serve basis, there is limited parking available too, call in restaurant and ask about it. The restaurant has many awards as well, with an calm music to enjoy the dining. Must come with family for great food and great ambiance ! Kudos Punjabi Rasoi!

Amazing place which serves amazing food. Each item was lip smacking. Special mention for the mutton adrak k panje. Must try. Staff was courteous. You have to visit this place if you are in Kolkata. Located near to Acropolis mall. We had to wait for 40 minutes to get a table. But the wait was worth it.

Located just near Acropolis, this is one of the best places in Kolkata to have North Indian and Punjabi food. After a long time, I liked a restaurant completely based on the taste of food, availability of the items, service and as well as location (ease of conveyance). We ordered 1. Mutton Adrak ke Punje 2. Murgh Lasuni Kebab 3. Ajwani Fish Tikka Kebab 4. Cheese Kali Mirch Kulcha 5. Kabuli Naan 6. Mutton Saag Believe me, each and every item was sooo tasty...all the starters especially mutton panje ans chicken lasuni were fantastic...they also customize the panje to whatver pieces you want (by default it is 3, but we took 4). In the main course, loved the Cheese Kali Mirch Kulcha...just loved it...Kabuli Naan was also good (a little on the sweeter side, so ones who don't like sweet can avoid this and try the garlic naan rather.) The staffs were also courteous and helped us with all the orders.. So...once again, reiterating the fact, this is a must to go place for all the North Indian and Punjabi food lovers

Wow. Great food that's it. Their adrak ki panjey is quite well known anyway. The lahsuni kabab chicken was equally remarkable. I was impressed with their naan and specially the lachha Paratha which is not the typical fried version but a tandoor version. Just wow. I am one of the few Calcuttans who prefer Hyderabadi biryani on most days compared to the good old Kolkata style biryani. Although wasn't really the authentic one, but their hyderabadi biryani was equally tasty (a little too many ginger morcels intermittently let their presence felt in an unwanted manner) It even contained a potato piece and even prunes, which I am sure are misfit for authentic hyderabadi. There were even slices of tomato. But still it tasted spicy and quite like the true version. I was impressed overall. The mutton piece was quite good sized and tender too. I would go back again or order from them.

This is a legendary place known for their amazing North Indian dishes like Mutton Adrak k Punje and Murg Lasooni Kebab and we too ordered the same to understand what the hype was about. To begin with, the decor is simple, the place is clean and I believe they let their food talk the most. We had ordered the following- 1. Mutton Adrak ke Punje 2. Murg Lasooni Kebab 3. Chicken Bharta 4. Naan 5. Firni And Fresh lime soda to gulp it down. All the dishes were lip smacking, Murg Lasooni kebab being our favourite. All the dishes were perfectly cooked. I totally get the hype about this place. A must try for all the North Indian food lovers!

They feed you like family with much love and attention. The food is among the top few in the city. The tandoori items are made quite differently. I loved 4 out of 5 things I ate and the last one was above average as well. Thank you to the team of Punjabee Rasoi.

I read a lot of praises of this place and I visited it with that much expectations too. Turns out it's not something extraordinary, just another restaurant serving Indian food. We ordered: Mutton Adrak ke panje: This was a mutton preparation which was really good with all the fat itself used for cooking. Fish Ajwaini tikka: The fish was cooked perfectly and there were ajwain sprinkled over. Chicken Tikka butter masala: The rather average butter masala gravy. Kabuli Naan: I have had better versions of it. A downside that I noticed was that every item heavily lacked salt. I must say some the items very good but this place did not stand up to the rating it has received.

Heyy FOOODIES make some SPACE for Punjabi Rasoi It's located near Acropolis. Just 2 mins walking distance. It's fully AC and good seating space. Little crowdy as they serve really rich and tasty punjabi dishes. I tried Chicken Do Piyaza for ₹290/- Butter Naan - ₹50/- (each) It was fullfiling, fresh, loaded with flavours. You can try any item from their menu. It will be delicious for sure. Service was good, hygiene was maintained. After every customer check out tables were sanitized. I would definitely recommend Punjabee Rasoi So let's talk about prices. It's ₹500/- for two ©fooodiespace

Located on a road opposite of the back gate of Acropolis Mall. Excellent food, reasonably priced, prompt service. Ordered: Mutton Adrak ki Panje Kebab: this is their signature item, can be ordered by the piece. Nice pieces of mutton, perfectly spiced, very tender. Palak Corn: creamy texture, lots of corn, fresh taste of palak, very tasty. Butter Naan: thin and perfectly baked, not chewy but easy to tear, liberally brushed with butter. Sarson ki Saag: amazingly smooth, garnished with fried garlic bits, lot of pure ghee, must try in winter. Firni: smooth rice kheer with saffron. Kulfi: very tasty, made with nice thick milk. Overall, highly recommended!

The Pujabee Rasoi is the BEST place for those who want to have the best quality food ever. I have been visiting here for the last 6 years and found that they keep the quality as it is... The cost is little more but that's guaranteed that they will provide the best food ever. Kebab like Adrak ke Panje(mutton kebab), Reshmi Kebab, Tikka Kebab, Fish Kebab... everything is the best. In the main dish, Garlic Butter Naan(best in Kolkata), Biriyani, Shahi Paneer/ Butter Masala, Mutto Sago, Mutton Keema, Chicken Butter Masala... All are in the best in taste. Go for it at least, after that you'll be a regular customer that's guaranteed ☺️

We were delighted by the local and visitor recommendations for this restaurant, and our experience last night surpassed all expectations. The service was impeccable, the ambience created a relaxed atmosphere, and the facilities were immaculately clean. The owner himself personally guided us through the menu and explained how ingredients are fresh and hand-picked. However, the highlight was undoubtedly the exceptional food – culinary masterpiece that stands out as one of the best during our entire India trip. Highly recommended for a memorable dining experience.

We were 2 guys gone for lunch in a Saturday. The place is decently spaced with nice interiors. The boys take good care of you and service is good. The food was very good. Mutton was the best. The meat was soft and succulent. Would love to visit again and try other dishes.

The restaurant currently has only it's ground floor operational, as the demand is low. But most of the time it is brimming with people. Food is good, my personal favourite being dal makhni, adrak k panje and chicken tikka butter masala. The staff is courteous and the owner sometimes personally comes and interacts with the crowd. The last time I visited he suggested us to us taste the dal makhni but we ordered something else, when later on the waiter delivered some dal makhni for us to taste. Overall a very good restaurant and good prices. Come early to get a good seat and fairly empty place.

A MUST TRY for everyone, especially North Indian food lovers!

We visited punjabi rasoi during puja times. We had Murg lasooni kabab- better than average 4stars Mutton adrak k panje - i havent tasted such a well cooked mutton kabab in years.. juicy and tender . Obviously 5 stars for it Ajwani fish tikka - it was very good . 5 stars But the main course was a bit let down Dal makhani - we heard so much about it, but it tastes average. Taking the price into consideration it was a big let down. 2 stars for it. Chicken bharta - nothing too special about it. I would rate it 3 stars Tandoori roti - just what normal tandoori roti tastes like . 4 stars.. Overall for me it is 4 stars.. if i visit again i would do so for their Mutton adrak k panje and ajwani fish tikka. Overall a nice experience and good hospitality..

This is one of those hidden gems that serves lip smacking indian food. Their kebabs are amazing, especially their chicken lasooni kebab and mutton adraj ke panje. Even their naas breads and mains are amazing.

Well it's my second visit at this place. I always being a fan with their tandoor item. See I am feel savoury while writing this review. I must say maybe I am wrong or may not be their biryani is not up to the mark. I would recommend the place for having lunch or dinner.

Located just behind Acropolis Mall, one of the premium restaurant in the city serving customers some aunthentic punjabi cuisine. Murgh Lasuni Kebab (Full) Rs 380/- 2. Veg Kofta Rs 290/- 3. Masala Kulcha Rs 95/- 4. Cheese Garlic Naan Rs 170/- 5. Palak Paneer Rs 330/- 6. Garlic Naan Rs 110/- ITEM VALUE : Rs 1375.00/- SGST : Rs 34.38/- CGST : Rs 34.38/- Round Off : Rs 0.24/- BILL VALUE : Rs 1444.00/- ----------------------

Let's be honest, there aren't not enough good North Indian restaurants left in Calcutta. The Punjabi Rasoi is definitely not in the same crowd. While my first visit to this place didn't leave a lasting impression, I have slowly come to love this place for its sumptuous food. I have picked and tasted a lot of items off their menu, and all of them have been great. If you are craving North Indian give this place a try. 😎

Awesome place. Away from busy roads. Nice ambience. Service is fine but price is a bit more than other North Indian/Punjabi outlets. I love their Bharta and Roti/Naan offerings. My friends love their biryani too. Their kebabs are not too shabby. Have been visiting since 2015-16... well before Acro. Edit: Might be nitpicking a little, but there is a slight inconsistency in their taste - sometimes the same dish is more/less spicy/salty than the last time we had it, which led to some disappointment.

Place is good ... Little walk from main road. In terms of food you can accommodate 2 people in the range of 600 to 700. Quality and taste was good pooja rush was there but good uninterrupted service. Everything was on time. Again Punjabi food lovers must try place. Hot 🔥 Spicy and delicious option to try from.

The host was delightful. Visited our table three times. Every level of staff was excellent. Suggested the mutton which was excellent. Gave us a free taste of the Dhal, quick attentive service, great advice. Just a great restaurant experience.
