It was a thrilling experience for all of us Comilla Cyclists. Its beauty charms us. I want to go there again and again.

MELKHUM is just a magical other world apart from this world🖤🖤

Melkhum is an off-trail in the Sitakunda Mirsarai range of Chittagong. The trail is good enough for a day trek. Sitakunda is by far one of the cleanest trails in the Mirsrai range. According to the locals the word Mel means a type of creeper that acts as an anesthetist for fish. Locals use this white juice of this tree to catch fish in the Khum. After splashing in the water for some time, the fish (especially shrimp) in the water of the khum will float away. You may not find any rocks on the Melkhum Trail, but you will be mesmerized all along the way by the beautiful white pebbles glistening in the sun in the clear water. Clear water will sometimes appear dark blue in the play of light and shadow. Colorful grasshoppers, swarms of butterflies will fly in front of your eyes, and if you stand quietly in the water, small fish will come and play murderously. And after all this, the desired destination of Melkhum/Melakhum/Mellarkhum will not be seen.

Melkhum is a wonderful creation of Almighty God. The place is completely haunted. If you want to visit here, you must bring a whole team. If you bring two or three people, you will be a little scared, so you will not be able to go to the end of this mysterious trail. What's more, it gets narrower as you go inwards. So you have to hang on to the crevices of the mountain most of the way. This is the most dangerous because at any moment you can fall and an accident can happen. Each step must be taken very carefully. Courage must be much greater.

The Melkhum Trail offers a moderate hiking experience with some nice views. However, I found the trail to be lacking in water sources, which made it a bit challenging on a hot day. Make sure to bring enough water with you. Overall, it’s a decent trail but could be better with more amenities.
