Had a fantastic stay here for a month in August 2021. This Homestay is AWESOME! I’ve visited Rishikesh several times in the past and this was absolutely my most favorite place to stay. The host family is Amazing!!! They are very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The food is homely, delicious and served with lots of love. Location is great with beautiful panoramic views of the mountains from the rooftop. The room is cozy and super comfortable. Loved everything about this place. It felt like a home away from home. Looking forward to stay here again soon. 😊😇

We opted for another visit to this place within six months. Again the same experience, hospitality and warmth. Same smiling and happy family, always ready to make your stay even more comfortable. Clean environment, great sunshine and fresh air. The prospective visitors must know that Tapovan in Rishikesh is the best place to enjoy yoga, serenity, weather and an international fraternity within an Indian village settings, rather-semi-urban. At Gungun Homestay, a healthy and tasty home cooked breakfast, lunch and dinner is available and that too, at a very very reasonable price. Gardening being the hobby of the lady owner of the homestay, hundreds of plants give this home another dimension beyond words. For those who prefer to have food outside, some of the best restaurants of Rishikesh are within the walking distance. Holy Ganges is not far. Connectivity is good. Gungun is a very beautiful home located in the heart of Tapovan and close to the cafes. The rooms are very tidy, neatly maintained. In fact, it felt like home away from home. The hosts take very good care and cater to all requests. We had poha and pahadi thali and it felt like home made food. I recommend this place. Room was spacious, clean and neat. The bathroom was very clean. Don't look for luxury here, look for a home.

It's really a Home away from home. They are so funny, friendly and welcoming. They have a lot of plants. (The real Secret Garden) and it's very clean. I have stayed there for a month and I will stay there in November for another month. The location ist perfect. Close to Secret Garden and restaurants but not too busy. See you soon. Cat & David

A Perfect Homestay Retreat: Cozy, Clean, and Convenient I recently stayed at this homestay and it exceeded my expectations. With its nice, cozy, and clean rooms, excellent ventilation, reliable power backup, and delicious homely food, this homestay provided a true homely experience. One of the standout features of this homestay is the attention to detail in every corner. The corners are tastefully decorated with plants and handpainted pots, creating a cozy and inviting ambiance that make you feel right at home. The comfortable beds and plush pillows ensured a restful sleep. Moreover, sufficient windows in the rooms allowed ample natural light to flood in while providing good ventilation, creating a fresh and airy atmosphere throughout. You can also see good views of surrounding mountains from terrace. Only downside was the geyser in my room was not working. They'd provide you room with geyser if you ask. The homestay's commitment to guest comfort truly shone through with their reliable power backup system. The homestay's location proved to be another major advantage. Situated within a reasonable distance from the market, it struck the perfect balance between tranquility and accessibility. This allowed me to easily explore the local area, interact with the locals, and experience the vibrant atmosphere of the nearby market. Overall, I can wholeheartedly recommend this homestay to anyone seeking a truly delightful homely and comfortable retreat. The nice, cozy, and clean rooms, excellent ventilation, reliable power backup, and delectable homely food, combined with the convenient location, made my stay a great experience.

The stay was amazing and the owners were like a family, nice and humble. Also everything was available within 5 mins of distance. The rooms were clean and everything was great!.

The place is very beautiful and affordable. Closer to bike rentals/can rentals and cafes and major tourist spots. Food was awesome, my favorite was their aloo paratha. Homely tasty food. Overall a great experience.

I stayed for 8 days in this family in Rishikesh and I really feel behind part of the family. They are lovely, the location is perfect in Tapovan, it’s quiet and the best part is the food is amazing !

We stayed for two nights. Hemu ji is a very good host. And amazing in her cooking style, pahadi thali we tried was really nice. Room was slightly smaller than expected, but clean and cozy. There are two dogs which made my son happy

I stayed at Gungun homestay for a month and I felt I was living at my own home not only because of the place but people too. Everybody here is very nice and takes care of you like your own family. Homestay is very hygiene and food quality is superb.and there is a very nice rooftop. I have been staying in hostels for very long but this was my first experience in a homestay and I am considering to stay here in the future too.

I had an amazing stay here for just over one week. Very nice rooms and a beautiful atmosphere to relax. Nice quiet area of Tapovan and still very close to everything you could possibly need. Highly recommend and I will definitely be back again!

Simple but beautiful homestay located far yet just a convenient 5 minutes walk away from the main road of Tapovan. Clean rooms and bathrooms. Small terrace decorated with potted plants. The food is cost effective and healthy home made food. Definitely recommended for a simple budget stay. The owners are very helpful and cooperative as well.

I've stayed at the Gungun Homestay with a friend just for 2 nights but it was a wonderful staying. The room was very clean and with all the comforts. There is also a big balcony with lots of plants and it is very cozy. We also had dinner here with a thali, it was super tasty (best rise we've ever eaten since we're in India) and also the chai was delicious! The owners are very kind and welcoming. I definitely recommend this place and I wish to come back!

I was here for just one day because I didn’t booked in advance. But this place is really really amazing and the hospitality they provide. The owner of this house are very humble and very careful. They have cute dogs as well. The best part of staying here was no restrictions at all and very friendly nature of everyone in their house. They charged around 800-1000 Rs a day for a completely private room.

I have seen this place on my way everyday. This is clean and nice so i thought of writing a nice review. Hopefully i will stay there one day.

Nice clean rooms.Its a homestay so you get all homely feeling.Owners are very helpful and sweet.All facilities like water purifier,wifi,coolers , inverter backup everything is available.. Location is also at centre so you can roam around ram zula and laxman zula by walking only

I stayed for a month, It has been so perfect place for my personal peace. The hospitality of owners, the food and the homely environment and belongingness will never make you feel the place for a short stay.. it's 5 min away from Tapovan main raod, it's a calm place to stay with amazing fresh and healthy home cooked food. I have stayed for 3 weeks, it was really cosy. I would highly recommend staying if one is looking for personal touch and healthy food options.
