A phenomenal restaurant overlooking the beautiful east coast of Barbados. Great variety in dining options including elevated interpretations of Barbadian classics such as the flying fish cutter, fish cakes (extremely popular among my family), macaroni pie. Also on their menu includes a phenomenal prime rib, steak and locally sourced seafood (including grilled octopus appetizer which was tasty but a bit chewy). All dishes were tasty and quality. Service was phenomenal with attentive and prompt serving staff. In terms of criticisms, can be warm depending on where you’re seated, and there can be flies in the dining area but this is typical of coastal restaurants with fresh caught fare. They were rightfully busy during lunch service. Highly highly recommend this spot.

Semi sits on the bluff looking out over the beach front both North and South giving it one amazing view. And the food is almost as amazing as the coastline. Everything was well prepared and season across the board - from salads to sandwiches to fish tacos - very good and well worth the drive. Oh, and service was some of the next we experienced on Barbados.

Visited here yesterday and enjoyed every single bite! Get the fishcakes to start as they are incredible, you can easily share them as a starter. I then had thr blackened fish tacos which were beautiful, served with crispy French fries. The to finish I had the mocha brownie and vanilla ice cream. Oh and a rum punch to drink! Views of the East Coast were stunning and the staff were so friendly. Thank you so much for a lovely Sunday lunch.

We happened to stumble upon Zemi Cafe when we were driving around the Island. We were looking for a nice cold drink to quench our thirst. We stopped in and were taken aback by the amazing views, the taste of the drinks (and dessert) and the hospitality... So much so, that we reserved a table for lunch a couple of days later. Our second trip to Zemi did not disappoint! We were again greeted with the same warm, welcoming hospitality. The food was INCREDIBLE, the views are AMAZING, and the staff are SO FRIENDLY. After spending 10 days in Barbados, we can genuinely say that we had our BEST experience at Zemi. Highly recommend- you won't be disappointed. As an FYI- the desserts were also amazing! You should definitely give this place a try. We would give it a 10/10!

Just a fantastic experience! The view, food and the service were all great, and as a bonus, they have a phenomenal rum list. We’re just so happy we stopped here for lunch, and a big thank you to the manager, Kyle, who took great care of us.

The food here was absolutely amazing. I had baby back ribs that were beautifully done. Will definitely be back

Lovely food, people and place! You will find the "rest of Barbados" on the East Coast where the powerful Atlantic Ocean plays with the surfers and pounds the brown beach with its rhythmic wash. As I meandered the narrow roads today I discovered ZEMI CAFE a top a hill with a pleasant breeze and 180 degree view of the vast blue pond. Smiles and pleasant faces greeted me as did a warmed plate with the most tasty "fish cutter" that I've had on the island (including my fave West Coast haunts). Their menu features local favourites that are worth the trip and the premises and washrooms are impeccably clean! If time permits make your way to North Point and then find your way down to Bathsheba and Zemi! I'll see you there!

Everybody should eat here! What a fantastic place which was recommended to us by our hotel ("The House"). Admittedly it is a little "Off the beaten track" and you'll probably need a Sat Nav. to find it, especially if you're coming down from North Point, but it's worth it. Immensely popular with the local community (always a good sign!) this wonderful café sits right on the East coast, so it can get a bit breezy as the wind comes straight off the Atlantic. The food is cooked fresh to order and is very tasty with generous portions. As with most places in Barbados, the accept cash (US/Barbadian Dollars) or card payment. Staff are super friendly and are happy to explain anything on the menu, but also check out the "Specials" board! There is a good sized car park so you can leave you car there and take a stroll along the shore line. To sum it up: "Awesome food, awesome views and awesome staff!" (Why are you still reading this, get yourself over there now!)

We were wanting flying fish and found that most places were not serving this is now rare to find. Ordered ribs as a replacement and they were out of that too! Settled for a burger which was very good. The place is like most other restaurants on the street in this area.

This is an incredible new place to eat located within the revitalized Hillcrest Community Centre. Beautiful views of the East Coast and very breezy. Delicious food with plenty of options to choose from.

I had a top-tier dining experience at this wonderful establishment. The team made everything seem effortless and gave us a remarkable experience. The presentation, quality, and flavour of the meals and beverages were outstanding. The selection of ambient music was at a well-balanced decibel level, which did not take away from the overall ambience of the location nor make it difficult to communicate with dining companions or staff. We were immensely satisfied with our experience. My highlight was the delicious texture and flavours of the grilled veggies. The zucchini, carrots, and plantain were grilled to perfection without compromising their integrity, which reminded me of my childhood. Furthermore, my request for an after-meal beverage was swiftly accommodated without any issues. I asked for straight gin, a splash of bitters and a wedge of lime, which was provided without any malice. In my opinion, ZEMI and their team are worth every cent and more. I highly recommend this establishment over any other places on the island to date!

Have to give a shout out to Zemi East Coast Cafe, a new spot on the east coast of Barbados. The workers, the music, the food, the drinks, the breeze, the view, it’s all incredible. We were blessed to stay across the street from Zemi Cafe for a month, and once we finally got the hang of business hours (Wed-Sun 11am-4pm) we quickly became regulars. Literally everything I ate or drank from there was so delicious and flavorful, you can feel the love that goes into all aspects of this place. My favorites are the ceviche, the G & T cocktail (grapefruit & basil gin & tonic!), coconut crusted barracuda, and the lattes are always good. Highly recommend!

Zemi is beyond an exceptional experience and truly a gem. This was my second time attending Zemi, and as we walked in we were promptly greeted, offered menus and introduced to the specials of the day. We had travelled with our dog, so we requested to have our food as take out so that we could eat on the benches overlooking the sea. The staff was very accommodating and made valuable suggestions on menu options. Amongst us we had the “Railroad” burger (which was actually ‘homemade’) and this was paired with the macaroni pie. The flavours of the burger were tantalising! Although the burger was well done, it was still extremely tender and moist. The macaroni pie was very tasty and enjoyed by the entire family. One highlight of the pie was that it was not greasy and heavy. We also had the Bathsheba salad. As a family who loves fruits and vegetables and makes salad often, Zemi’s Bathsheba Salad was superb! Every single item listed on the menu- the sorrel vinaigrette, arugula, sweet potatoes and cherry tomatoes (just to name a few), were present in the salad. The mahi mahi, which we added to the salad was well seasoned and prepared outstandingly. The breadfruit crisps were a light refreshing addition and the grilled vegetables were made to perfection. In addition to the fantastic food, one of our favourite highlights was the lemonade; it was light and tangy and refreshing. One can taste that it was made with freshly squeezed limes and lots of love. The wait time for food is not rushed, but neither is it exhaustive. We appreciate this quality immensely as it ensures that the standard of food at Zemi is consistently amazing and unmatched. The customer service at Zemi also has to be acknowledged. The staff checks in to ensure you are doing well and you are periodically updated on the status of your meal. Moreover, we received our meals packed and bagged so professionally, that I was actually impressed by this small gesture. Zemi is a really well rounded establishment nestled in Hillcrest. One can simply enjoy a refreshing lemonade, a cocktail, a coffee, a side of fries, or something as intricate as octopus, when available as a special. The quality of true Bajan food, the ambience and atmosphere, the staff (because a business is nothing without it’s people), the soft mellow music in the background- all create an amazing experience that will help Zemi to grow and be here for a long time. If you are looking for good food, good vibes and good views, Zemi is it! P. S. We did not get a chance to photograph the food as we were too anxious to try it all out.
