I will try to make a constructive comment here. I had this place rated 5 stars but I have to go down to 2 for now. This is not anymore the old Wild Rover where we use to come since many years for any rugby game, and this is not anymore an Irish Pub either. Only Estrella on tap, Guinness in bottle. We've lost the good old pub ambiance, the bar being kind of neat, with new (useless?) neon lights and sofa kind of stuff. Rugby world cup opening game, only screening in Spanish (??) and no sound (not audible). We've been explained that it's a local law keeping volume down, but come on guys, how do other pubs do then ? And how did wild rover use to do? It's been such a let down for every single person in the pub who came yesterday to watch this big big game and obviously wanted to watch it with English comments and with sound ambiance. Very very long queue to order a beer. Heads up to the staff who clearly wants to do it's best and being very nice and took the time to speak and explain things, but new owners clearly got something wrong there and definitely needed a +2 yesterday at the counter. Food was quite good although not that cheap. Lots of room for improvement then, and I understand that it's only "the beginning" but we're not gonna risk it next time and will surely go to another 'real' Irish pub to find that special rugby game day ambiance, at least until the end of this World Cup. After the loss of Shenanigan's in Raval, that's another letdown for rugby fans in Barcelona city center.

After searching for a pub that would play the F1 live, we found The Wild Rover. This is a bar that is totally dedicated to sport! We settled at a table close to the VERY big screen and ordered some food and drinks. We had the Dip Nachos with Cheddar, Guacamole and Salsa plus the Pizza Margarita and the Mozzarella Sticks. The food was good for pub food and was also hot and quick. The staff also continued to take drink and food orders from our tables during the race (to save us heading to the bar) and we also saw them helping other customers who arrived late and had not secured a position yet with chairs, both gestures were nice to see. Would definitely recommend this sports bar, especially if wanting to see live sport while you’re abroad!

But I went here to see the Irish rugby world cup game and they refused to turn on the sound as the owner preferred to listen to the Barcelona game. It's an Irish bar... There were several Irish people there to see the game, all of which left during the game because they had to watch it with the sound of a Barcelona football game playing over it. And they definitely won't come back. I assume the owner is Catalan then. But they have decided to run an Irish bar so they should probably try to make some effort to accommodate Irish events. This is why all other Irish bars in the city are full during Ireland games and this one was empty. So I would avoid if you are Irish, no Guinness on tap and no sound for your games. I'd highly recommend if you are Catalan. Estrella on tap with the Barcelona game playing : )

Really expected better from the previous reviews. Bar was cramped, badly laid out and uninviting. Food was relativity OK, but the bar staff made me feel like I was intruding. Will not be going back.

It was a nice play to watch football. As an advantage I can mention tgat they show two soccer match atvthe same time so you can watch two games together. But there were some problems, such as they do not have reservations system. The foods were quite expensive. I do rate them 4 because of theur staffs. They were so friendly.

Just off La Rambla we decided to give this place a try and went back every night after. Its a good size Irish bar, spotlessly clean and the staff were efficient and very nice. The menu is typical bar food and everything we had was lovely. They also do great cocktails.They have plenty of screens for sport, live music Thursday-Sunday nights and overall was just a great bar to enjoy a drink as its away from the hustle from the main street.

We went on 2nd July when the Spanish team was playing, the screens and drinks were good, however it took them ages to bring the drinks and we ordered some wings that were actually disgusting. We could not even eat them because they tasted microwaved or something like that. It’s a shame because the atmosphere is nice when there is a match.

Good to watch F1, but make sure you've eaten at home. Most of the options on the menu were not available (lunchtime) and the few that were, were not very tasty. Maybe this is more interesting for English folk.

This was our favourite of the Irish bars in Barcelona. We did a trawl of bars in order to watch some of the rugby World Cup games. The barman was a star and impressive multitasking and looking after drinks and food on his own, and although it wasn’t really busy he was rushed if his feet and still smiling! We didn’t eat but the food looked good.

This is a drink place. If you are looking for fun and a good time, this is not your place. If you want to have a beer, (not eat) and watch premier league game then this is a solid option. Occasionally, they will play American/British/Australian sporting events. This is not a real local destination. It is 90% tourists with a lack of neighborhood feel. There are much better locations nearby where one can experience something more authentic. If you do want to meet backpackers on their euro tour, this is a good choice.

Guiness beer & good old music, the right place to be with friends when visiting Barcelona and you are nearby La Rambla. Food is great too, the decorations of the place are the perfect setup for a great night out. Totally recommend it!

Worst experience ever. I don't know what the reason was but the waiters decided that my wife and I are "not worth" being served. We came in shortly after opening in the evening with a lot of empty places and were "lucky" able to order a drink. But after getting them we became "invisible" for the staff. We want to order some food but the two waiters went by one to another time without taking notice of our signs. The pub filled quickly because of a beginning soccer game shown on several tv screens. After half an hour (!!!) we lost our mind for further waiting and decided to go. It seems that was the intention of the staff and they were glad. Maybe it was because we were "foreign tourists" and were not interested in soccer, maybe it was because my wife ordered only water, maybe it was the weather, who know? Me not! I cannot imagine and understand where the good reviews come from. Hopefully, this is a good warning for other tourists.
