Marcelo the server is the worst. DO NOT COME HERE. This establishment will exploit you specifically Americans for $$. Cover charge - They charged us 10 euro each. 3 other groups behind us were Spanish speaking. All groups get seated at the same time. Marcelo made sure to come to us with his register to make sure we paid him 30EUR. Marcelo sat down the other 2 groups - NO PAYMENT was made or needed FOR SPANISH SPEAKING PEOPLE. WAY TO RIPOFF AMERICANS and TOURISTS. Such a bad look for an establishment. It gets worse. Marcelo then asks for the drinks of the other groups while we wait there after we paid $30. No menu or check from Marcelo - he got his money and left us. We wait 15 minutes then finally get the menus. I ask for a refund and Marcelo yells at me like I have a problem. He says “it is not your business why I don’t charge them. Worry about yourself. WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO CALL THE COPS?” DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU ARE AMERICAN- they prey on you.

"Groovy" vibes on a Saturday evening. Cocktails are intricate and they have a stellar menu. The Vincent no2 is a pretty loaded dry gin drink.

This place is a gem. With a speakeasy vibe, good craft cocktails, an interesting selection of Campari parafernalia and an intimate stage is the perfect setting for live jazz music. There is food as well, traditional Spanish cuisine. I had a fantastic night here. A must go in Barcelona.

Ok I think I might just be one of life’s ‘ high standards ‘ reviewers because this place has a somewhat imbalanced summary of high rated reviews and only when scrolling through do readers get more accurate and reliable info on this jazz and cocktail joint . 1) whenever someone says the toilets are bad / un clean etc I have a golden rule never to eat there . 2) The jazz band on the Monday I was there were talented , entertaining & fantastic . 3) cocktails and food leave a little to be desired . Overpriced cocktails and lots of fried food ( think chips / chicken / fried chorizo etc ) such food will never get a high rating from me as food ( unless im in a fast food joint and I very rarely am ) . So go here and remember it’s aimed at us tourists ….with all the conspiracy you can think that tourists become the targets of . The jazz sessions lasted an hour and you’ll be greeted by the next set of unsuspecting “ guests” as the Bar staff usher you out in a gentle but not understated manner 😉. Would I go again ? Errrr ….. I have mixed feelings so probably not. As for some of those high 5 star reviews well it won’t be lost on you to spot that many are ‘ local reviewers ‘ and musicians… & If I wanted to ply my harmonica somewhere I certainly wouldn’t poop on my doorstep either - actually knowing me I probably would

I am so disappointed. If your show ends early, you should mention it to the costumer entering your club. I payed for my drink expecting a jazz performance. But the staff told me the show ended after serving my drink. I would not have come here if there were no performance. Such a shame. When I came, it was around midnight, which I thought to be a good time to go to a live bar, and the openinig time of the club is till 2am. There are also some very terrible reviews as mine. I think I should have taken it more seriously. Some says the show was great but be careful there might be no show at all.

We completed our Barcelona trip with the live jazz music here, absolute pleasure. Amazing band, highly recommend the basil based drinks, extremely fast and polite staff. Lucky to found this place.

Permanently closed Information on the internet is incorrect

Poor service. I’d booked my ticket months in advance and travelled from overseas to come to the venue. I arrived half an hour before the show began. One member of staff said hello to me then walked off leaving me at the door without a I’ll be with you soon or someone is coming shortly - just nothing! As a solo female traveller, I felt very uncomfortable. Not sure if it was because they couldn’t be bothered, or if they were prejudiced because I’m mixed race. Eventually an older member of staff came and welcomed me who was pleasant but then I took my seat and ordered a mocktail. It took them a long time to serve me and service certainly was without a smile. I paid in cash but instead of them coming right back with my change they instead talked amongst themselves at the bar and totally ignored me until I caught their attention and ONLY then came back with my change. 9€ for a mocktail overpriced! Jazz band very good but half way through they put the levels up - why couldn’t this have been sorted during the sound check?! This made the levels very painful noise wise and I ended up walking out 15 minutes early. 3 stars are for the older staff member being kind and the band being good in the first half but NOT for the appalling service from the bar staff.

You still need to pay 10€ for the performance even if you have reservation which is absolutely cheap for performance of 1h - 1h30m. They didn’t specify it in reservation website though. Each person is expected to order something if you join to the event. If you have a free evening in Barcelona, I’d suggest to stop by for a local jazz/blues performance. Tip: Find out about current program (times and artists) in their website or get a brochure.

Lovely atmosphere, live jazz music, nice drinks, professional staff

A wonderful hidden gem in the heart of the Gothic Quarter. Jugo does an amazing job working the room and tending to the needs of the patrons. The music is the focus so don't go there to have a loud conversation and distract others.

Been here twice recently. Some of the bands are really good, and the place is central. Darkness and layout make service a bit awkward. You fear for the staff's ability to keep their balance. Beer is the weakest spot - not cold enough and just one choice which doesn't taste great. Cocktails are a better option.

Good live music - go there for that! Drinks are the same as at anywhere else. Friendly staff too.

Fab underground cocktail bar. Live music in a classic jazz club vibe. Waiter service of a top order. Great.

An emblematic place more closed to tourists in Barcelona

We heard a contemporary Cuban jazz pianist who was talented but not our favorite style of jazz. Ambience perfect for a jazz club and it was great to see the local enthusiasm for jazz manifest here. Unfortunately we don’t speak Spanish well and staff struggled with English and closed out tabs early but bartender was accommodating. It was advertised as a combo but only a couple of guest performers. They were both fantastic and added a lot to the show! Don’t believe the website - if you cannot make reservations you may still be able to get in and purchase tickets at the venue.

Was only there once, a few years ago, pre-pandemic, for an outstanding Aretha Franklin tribute that featured three or four female vocalists alternating singing lead. Memorable! :)

Be careful and check when entering this bar. The bar manager charged us €40 to see the band which was fine but they only had 10 mins left of their set and then that was it, there was nothing after.

Very good, classic jazz club. It's hidden away on the main road. Defo worth a visit. Cocktails are great, altho avoid the negroni as its too strong and bitter, the pineapple cocktail is amazing!

I'm giving the stars for the lovely live jazz which was a real treat. The band were amazing. However, we found the bar staff a bit standoffish. We understand we weren't booked to see the gig but we were happy enough to be seated at the bar. We felt like an inconvenience. Also, the ladies toilets were disgusting. The toilet paper was rolled off on each stall and the cleanliness was to be desired. Nice drinks but customer service was only okay.

Good music and atmosphere. The waiting staff did not understand english even on numbers level. The preparation of Moscow mule and Sour lady taked them around 20 min and the second one was almost undrinkable due to sour concentration. The waiter brought the bill on their own accord, which was a pity, cause I would like to invite the singer on scotch. Prices are quite standard I guess.

Honestly guys serving could care less about the music. Jazz place that doesn’t play jazz. Bar staff disinterested. They make a descent mojito that’s it. If you love music take a wide birth. I love pretentious if it is deserved

Enjoyed the live music show during our stay in Barcelona! Never visited such a jazz club before and I can guarantee it's totally worth it. Makes your visit so much better, plus the shows are just amazing if you're into Jazz!

It used to be such a great place with wonderful barmen who made everything you asked for. There also used to be an extensive cocktail menu. Today we were given a menu with 4 or 5 cocktails and when we asked for a cocktail they used to make there for us, we were told, they only make the ones on the menu. So disappointing, such decadence. We won't go there anymore, which is sad, because we used to go there is every night when in Barcelona

completely unacceptably loud, this is not a pleasure of music, it is a pain in the ears and a cacophony. absolutely unbearable, we had to leave because this was a sonic attack on our health. Are there really no technical specialists in the bar? Event was 9/29/2022. I hope this problem was only with this band playing at this evening. Other service was good

Decent drinks but a little overpriced in my opinion. Service was friendly and it is located in a good area for tourists. Would go back if friends wanted to go there.
