Came here on a friend’s recommendation and boy did it deliver. El Nacional is an upscale space with lots of dining/drink options, good music, and cool vibes. It is tucked away in an alley in the middle of a high end shopping district. We had drinks and tapas at the center bar - all was very good and the prices were reasonable, especially given the neighborhood.

El Nacional is almost like a fancy food hall with several different restaurant concepts within the space. The building itself is gorgeous, with a large bar in the middle of the room. The bar is open at 11am, where as the rest of the restaurants don’t open until noon. All the food we had were solid, but the stew was particularly good. A perfect spot to rest and refuel after some shopping.

Great location, beautiful place with an amazing decoration, but I was a bit disappointed with the food (average at best) and the attention. I expected much more. Place is really nice, with a bar in the center and restaurants with different concepts around (seafood, meat, and tapas). At least tapas were not that good, maybe I'll come back to try the others.

Such an experience! The space is beautiful and very well designed. The restroom is amazing and they even have a make up room near the restroom. We went to La Braseria which was great - my husband loved the meat - I loved the asparagus and wine. Don’t miss the pictures, I’m the restrooms, of when this was a parking garage.

A great experience that is worth repeating. El Nacional is an interesting concept: there is one location that houses multiple restaurants. Each restaurant is unique and offers its own range of products, from tapas to fine dining. There is even one location that offers wine all-round. The place looks beautiful and clean and there's a lot of accent on safety, especially during Covid. Each restaurant has its own staff and you have to wait in line to be seated by the staff. The food is also very tasty and the prices are not too bad. It might be considered a bit pricey but the size of the portions is adequate. Would definitely recommend!

Awesome restaurant! From hospitality to food everything was perfect! We had one hour late from our reservation but the waitress found us a table very quickly. We took some starters (bread with tomato and herbs) which were very good. Then we had the pasta with seafood which were excellent too. We weren’t that hungry so we took these pasta which were a starter too but we aren’t disappointed. It was really good, not so expensive and we shared good moments in a marvellous atmosphere. Thank you really much!

Good , open space with a good interior, very clean and busy even on Tuesday. Service is good, although they were all in rush and busy all the time. Was a bit challenge to order. At last many people walking around like on a market as most part of it is an open space. There were queues to get a table (on Tuesday) bit for the rest everything was fine. Prices fine, food good, fancy toilets ☺️

Hola Barcelona. The best paella 🥘 we had so far in Barcelona, though there are a lot of amazing places where you can eat all kinds of paella. This place is simply amazing ! There are so many really nice restaurants here that you are spoilt for choice. The bars that are here are also quite fancy. Amazing cocktails and a wide variety of food.

Great concept of having multiple dining options under one roof. The place has lots of style with great music and atmosphere and attracts hundreds of people. We had dinner at the seafood venue which was lovely. The food was great, dishes are well sized, prices are reasonable and the service was friendly and professional. If in Barcelona, you should definitely visit.

The best meal I’ve had in my life. Perfect place to spoil yourself for a fancy delicious dinner. Perfect for couples, best friend dates, friends gathering and families. The cheese platter was great but the dip is out of this world. Just magnificent honestly. Amazing. This place offers the best restaurant I’ve ever tried for octopus. It’s beyond words. So soft and full of flavors and the rosemary baby potatoes is just WOW. The salad was fresh and well seasoned. And the steak was great and they offered a size of crushed salt and regular salt which was a plus. The service was spectacular. Highly recommended this place. Just make sure to come an hour or 30 min before the opening cuz it could reach a long que. Reservations are optional.

It was a nice place, I went with my mum and we were recommended this place. I do believe that it had a very nice and relaxing atmosphere, we were looking quite forward to taste the food but when it arrived and we had a few bites we didn’t think that it was that great. The calamari was extremely chewy and hard to eat, the potatoes had no taste and they had just put a blob of mayo on the top with mild sauce - they can make it so much better. The mixed vegetables were alright I guess, the service although was very good and the staff were very helpful - would not come back here again and would not recommend.

In this place only everything looks good, nothing else If i could give minus certainly i would do that for the food We ordered lamb chops and burger, lamb chops were not cooked well and the flavour was so bad for 32€ and the worth part is their burger that of course the amount of meat was good but there was no bread 😐no tomato 😐 and no thing else that should be with a burger and 20€ for only that and a bottle of 1 lit of water for 5.95€ How can these prices be possible? We paid in total 78€ for two persons and we couldn't eat, even their take away packing was so bad, not recommending that to have anything there, not worth it and is a waste of time and money , only the atmosphere is a positive point of this place, not recommended

Easily my favorite and best place to eat in all of Barcelona. The ambience of this restaurant is truly something you won't find anywhere else in the world. It is a little pricey, but beyond worth it. It's Spanish food I could only dream to find elsewhere. Looking forward to when I can come back to this place someday on my next visit/stop to Barcelona in the future.

Stunningly beautiful venue, amazing cocktails but food is “ok” compared to many other restaurants in Barcelona. Come for the sights, atmosphere and cocktails but skip the food. Service oddly takes a long time to get you seated even though it’s low season and not busy… was consistent across each restaurant/bar. But once seated they’re great.

A culinary destination in Barcelona. El Nacional is a huge and beautifully designed modern restaurant with 3 distinct sections: Seafood, Meats and Tapas. The menu will depend on which section you choose to dine in. We walked in early without reservations but the place fills up rather quickly (even on a Monday in October), so reservations are highly recommended.

A truly unique dining experience in a stunning, elevated, and high ceiling eatery. El Nacional is similar to Eataly from the US in the sense that there are multiple establishments all within one space that focuses on a particular experience. There is a bar/restaurant for the following: wine and beer, fresh seafood, oysters and champagne, cured meats, and specialty cocktails. What’s more is you can easily migrate from one spot to another depending on what you’re seeking. It’s a welcoming and lively place to visit for either a sit down meal or a few drinks before heading off to a dinner elsewhere. Come pick your own adventure here!

The place is fantastically decorated and you feel like you are either going back in time or else entering a luxurious place. We did not eat here because we read some bad reviews on the food but we took a drink at one of the bars. The service was fantastic and always with a smile and the cocktails were well executed. The price was high but for the whole package it was acceptable.

*Lengthy but worth reading Super cool concept with multiple bars and restaurants and some of the food was decent. We thought the paella lacked flavor. The service (shouldn’t even be called that), was some of the worst I’ve ever had. To start, we ordered bread and one small plate to share, and I made sure to tell the waiter we were just starting with those dishes and that we would want to order more, but our menus were taken and he said “later” and walked away. We never saw him at our table again, only socializing at the front with other wait staff with seemingly nothing to do. I had to flag down a random waitress after 30 minutes of no service to order the paella, which we were told would take 30 minutes, fine. It would have been nice to be able to order earlier. Eventually our original waiter did come by to clean off the table beside us, and never once acknowledged us or asked if we wanted drink refills, more dishes (like we initially stated we wanted), nothing. This place could be great but it’s just not, sadly. We won’t return.

This was very good. The location, decor and ambiance were all excellent. It is not possible, unfortunately, to order food from one area to eat in another unlike in similar sites in Lisbon etc. The tapas were excellent, the oyster bar was too. The wine offer is contemporary and varied. It was great to have a range of meat free options. The service was relaxed, welcoming, swift and professional.

Amazing spot. Upscale food hall with a 1920’s Art Deco style. We accidentally stumbled into the place and were blown away. The decor, the atmosphere, the food, all top notch. Some other reviewers have complained about the prices but we felt they were more than reasonable. We will definitely come back.

El Nacional might seems expensive, but it is not that much. A little above the average, but it is worth. I like the place for tapas, get a glass of wine, pimientos el padrón, patatas bravas, calamares, pan amb tomata, croquetas de jamón ibérico. This is enough for two people. For dessert I recommend trying the crema catalana, that is typical in the region. The decoration of this place is stunning, and kind staff

Vary cool place, even of you won’t end up eating there it’s nice to see it and go for a round there. El Nacional is like an hangar the combine few concepts of restaurants into one awesome place. And you just go around and choose the most suitable food, and prices for you. We choose to eat at the Braceria which is basically a Stake House with very very good meat and high prices. But it was worth to taste it! Go there you won’t regret.

El Nacional is like a fancy food hall that will really take you by surprise and fascinate you! I totally recommend the oyster bar if you are looking to have a good glass of cava or champagne and delicious sea food. Price wise, prepare to spend some money but know that it is really worth it! Staff was friendly and prompt, service great, food delicious and oh, they make some really good cocktails as well! Cannot wait to return!

Super cool high-end food court perched inside a busy street. I was surprised that it wasn’t crowded when almost all the people were out on the streets sitting in fairly touristy spots. The architecture here is amazing and has a few restaurants, a beer bar and a wine bar. I had the Spanish omelette and highly recommend it!

This place is awesome. You have 6 or 7 different options to eat. We went for the La taperia at the far right corner. This was an excellent choice. We were kind of scary about the long line to get in, but afterwards it turned out it was just a small queue. The service is really fast and professional and the tapas selection is unbelievable. Every dish that we picked out was delicious. You can not go wrong with this place. But be ready to stand in line to get in (not sure if there is a chance to book a table in advance).

Really cool food hall. Multiple restaurants under 1 roof. They have seafood, Italian, Spanish, and etc. The bathroom is pretty cool looking as well. Very clean. They also have a "powder room" right outside that is great for pictures.

We came at about 7pm on a Saturday and there was already a line of 5 people outside La Taperia, El Nacional. The wait was long even though there were 6 tables free, but we expected it based on previous reviews. When we tried to flag the waitress, she ignored us, went to the bar counter, put her head in her hand and shook her head. She obviously then muttered something to her boss because he gestured to us to be patient. We would have understood if she simply asked us to wait. She was polite enough when taking our order but had already made us very uncomfortable. We only ordered two tapas to test things out and were glad we didn’t order more. The “shoestring fries” had a texture that made it seem like it was fried hours ago (somewhat crispy on the edges and almost rubbery towards the thicker parts; and cold). The crab filled eggs were mediocre and tasted like shredded fake crab sticks. From my point of view - customers who gave high ratings to this establishment have not had any decent Spanish / Catalan food previously. It’s sad because El Nacional has so much potential. Yes, the place is pretty, so I would advise anyone to come here just for photos and then eat somewhere else. Anywhere else.

This is the most surprising place in all Barcelona for food and drink in style! We got here by accident, ant it was a great success. The place is well designed, it have great music and and few tapas bars and restaurants. Tou can choose one, or pass through few to try different dishes. Highly recommend.

The place is divided into different restaurants, each one of them specialized in a type of food (i.e seafood, steaks, tapas...) In the centre there is a bar where you can get a broad selection of tapas and different cocktails. I recommend the bar section by the left side as you enter. They have the best drinks and the staff is attentive and friendly.

Excellent location and most appreciated that it is open and serving food and drinks from its many restaurants and bars throughout the afternoon. Doesn't close at all, so we ended up having a really late lunch. We went to the meat focused restaurant, although the others looked great too. Bit on the pricy side (€16 for a G&T!) But really delicious and looks gorgeous. They also have different bars with tapas if you're not looking for a full on meal. Would come back again.

If you would like to take a beautiful pictures and drink something it is perfect. But if we talk about the food it is horrible for the price that it has. I’ve been there 3 times. Pasta was ok, the fish place is nice but expensive, but tapas place was very bad. A lot of dishes are not tasty. Also not polite and rude waiter. If you would like to try local food it is not the best place.

Beautiful place for sure! Drinks were fine but food was terrible. The service was dysfunctional with no care for customer service. We sent 2 dishes back as they were inedible. We were charged for a dessert that wasn't served. Finally when I asked to speak to a manager to discuss our concerns, I was told there was no one. Avoid!

If the best thing in the restaurant is the decoration and layout, I would say it is not worth going. Few waitress for the whole restaurant, service is kind though. Food is average, but overpriced. For this price there are hundreds of better restaurants in Barcelona. I would say this is a perfect place to have a drink or eat some tapas.

Stylish place of America 1920. A bit expensive. As a blue cheese lover, I ordered cheese plate at the bar. There was a cheese from mild to strong, where mild is like on a Roquefort level. At the end I couldn't breath, the taste of last cheese was so strong. Yummy.

(Translated by Google) A somewhat hidden place in the streets of Barcelona but without a doubt it is worth looking for it. It can be said that it is like the same covered area, with the appearance of a well-renovated industrial warehouse, in which we find different establishments. All of them share the space with different types of restaurants offering a multitude of variety. It has a decoration and setting in detail, simply making the stay inside worthwhile. Also noteworthy is the common area of services, which share a sink and continue to retain a very careful, rustic and elegant design. It is certainly not a place with an affordable price, especially you must bear in mind that the service and products have a remarkable quality, even more so, being aware of it, you can enjoy some dishes valuing the environment and service. In short, a place that is at least worthy of a visit and appreciation of its different options to spend a different and special evening in an environment that invites the prolongation of dinner with a playful and pleasant atmosphere. Great for couples or friends. (Original) Un lugar algo escondido en las calles de Barcelona pero sin duda merece la pena buscarlo. Super pretty place. Average food. Not the cheapest but worth it for a special occasion. Particularly nice around Christmas with their lights and decorations. Tapas area does not accept reservations. Waiter not following correct Covid regulations, snatching phones from hands when showing QR codes to enter and not sanitising hands between touching everyone’s phones. Wasn’t appreciated.

Really poor customer service. For such a fancy restaurant waiter/waitress are not attentive to details at all. need to call them several times to get my phone charge. They are just hanging around talking to each other, even getting the bill took some time. And to top it off food is really below average. Ordered entrecote steak and it was serve cold and octopus is just very average. This place is only good for the ambience. Plus they just slip like a donation to the bill. I mean i honestly more than happy to donate but you cannot just impose a donation in the bill without letting anyone know. This review is for the La Braseria.

Have to admit it’s quite a nice place, big hall with multiple bars/restaurants - all spanish style food - to choose from. That being, the experience could have been way better if the staff who clearly sees too many clients were a bit (just a bit please!) more agreeable. Anyway, go have a drink or bite and check it out !

It is a very nice place regarding the location and interior of the restaurant. Very crowded, the salads and starters were okay but the meat was not tasty at all and overpriced as well. We wanted to order a proper red wine but the menu was so wide you can get easily distracted and the waiters lacked in suggestion regarding the wines.

We arrived late at night(around 10:30) for the taperia and pretty much everything on the menu was no longer available because the kitchen was closing down. The atmosphere is very lively and this could have been a great experience had we arrived earlier but there was very few options to choose from and the ones we chose weren’t that great. I personally didn’t enjoy the gazpacho but my boyfriend did enjoy the cold seafood salad.

WOW what an experience, the place, the food, the atmosphere - just great! Staff was friendly too. We were lucky to arrive early (around 7:15pm on a Sunday) and got a table at the tapas area right away (no bookings there) - longer queues just half an hour later. The tapas were absolutely amazing, every single one.

I really enjoyed the food on this establishment. The decor is really beautiful. Sure the place can get noisy and the lines to wait to be seated can be a bit annoying but after we were sat the service was effective and fast. I was a bit overwhelmed when first entering because I didn't know they had multiple mini restaurants inside. In the end we opted to have tapas. Tapas are not cheap and for a couple the prices can be a bit steap for the quantity you end up eating. Nevertheless the food was incredible. I enjoyed it and I'd recommend at least coming inside just to browse around it. It's very beautiful.

The festive decorations are some of the prettiest we saw throughout the city, and the restaurant options are excellent.
