Viana Barcelona was a last minute decision on a night that we forgot to make a reservation. When we arrived, I had to check the address to confirm that it's the correct place. It didn't look like a fine restaurant that served the kind of food that they had pictured or had the endless great reviews. It just looked like a small, cute, local bar but DON'T let that fool you!!! The experience we had at this restaurant was honestly better then the Michillin star restaurant we went to!! There was 4 of us. We took the tasting menu. When we wanted to order wine, our server let us know that there won't be a need since the tasting menu came with wine!! It was a local wine but, honestly, very tasty! When the dishes started coming out....each was more delicious then the one before! What an incredible surprise this place was!! Every dish was absolutely scrumptious. Our waiter and the staff (who were all working together) were very pleasant and accommodating!! I would HIGHLY recommend, if visiting Barcelona, you visit Viana as well! Definitely not to be missed!

We were seated alongside a bunch of American and Asian tourists who were struggling with menu options and having trouble communicating with the staff. We speak broken Spanish but understand it; we noticed that the staff behind the bar were at times commenting and amusing themselves with the struggling tourists. Apart from that, this is a good place to visit for the food.

When looking for recommendations for traditional Spanish places, I was afraid this would be another tourist trap. However, the quality and presentation of the food is absolutely fantastic!
