Los platos están buenos aunque espera un poco más por ser un precio del menú diario semanal de 16€. El personal fue atento y educado. Se cumplen las medidas de seguridad que se exigen actualmente.

Great Catalan food with history. Delicious and reasonable. Staff are very helpful and attentive. We really like interior of restaurant. I bet the restaurant is very popular among local as well. I am glad I had meals there. Highly recommended!

This grand restaurant is here since the 1700's. We were worried that it might've not been able to withstand the pandemic but here it is! (now they have to pay back the loan to the Municipatity). The food was quite good. We had the butifarra with beans, the foie salad and the cod stew with orange juice. The place was packed full and there was a 30 min wait.

Probably the worst food I have ever eaten. Lamb chops with literally no meat on them, just bone. Wild boar stew that was so sparsely it looked like brown water. Not to mention it was only meat, no pasta or any other side dish. I can’t believe it…

I've heard great comments on the place, being the oldest restaurant of Barcelon, I thought worth a visit. A great place to visit for a lunch, and the service is attentive, and fast. The food is not so particular and outstanding, the 'canelones de sempre' had a weird sour after-taste. Main dish was a huge portion whilst crema catalan as dessert was a pretty descent dish.

The tour guide, from the free walking tour recommended this place as a place to eat typical Catalan food ☺️ As I love to try new stuff, weird stuff, and stuff that I can’t eat at home, I had to go to a typical place ☺️ And since this place exists since 1786, I had to try it ☺️ When I got in I saw many old people on the tables, that looked like a nice place to eat, but it was a Sunday, so maybe it was related with that. For starters had the “Escalivada” with goat cheese. It’s a mixed of over cooked vegetables, really not a thing to have again… everything was over cooked and mushy not my kind of plate. Then I had the “Jarret de vedella” as I thought it was the typical Catalan dish that is similar to goulash, well it was just stewed meat 😅 with mushrooms I think. It was ok, but not great or anything like that. Then I had the Creme à catalana that is an French influence and similar to crème burle. Now this was great, you could taste the smoke of burning the sugar and that was very exquisite, really liked. The menu was expensive, 22€ plus extra 2.5€ for the beer (it was a Sunday). Also didn’t like that on some dishes on the daily menu, you had to pay extra… very rip off. The staff was friendly, but not a place that would like to return, unless to try the French fries that looked very good on other guest dish 😅 The dessert was really good ☺️

This is a very special place and always a place for special occasions for locals… as we, tourists still can feel those celebrations on nearby tables. The elegant decorations are very impressive. Both the dishes and services are superb. Highly recommended.

We came to this restaurant followed by the recommendation of our hostel owner. It lives up to its reputation! We came around 1:15 and we had to leave a name to reserve for the next round. The place is filled with local regulars, then you know it’s the right place for you to go when you are eager to taste the local food! We came back in 2:15 to get our table and ordered the day menu, which includes one entree, one main, one desert and one drink, total 18Euro!! The food was fantastic!! Canelons els de sempre is a must if you want to go full Catalonia! We also tried the squid and the chicken, which are very well -seasoned! It tastes great! The decor is filled with history. when you dine here, you are not only fill your stomach, but also taste the culture and history! The staff is very friendly and helpful! Definitely a must when you are visiting to Barcelona!

This is some of the best restaurant food I've ever had in my life. If you're visiting Barcelona and looking for that true local flavor dining experience - THIS IS IT.

It is truly Spanish restaurant I would recommend any visitors to Barcelona. It is in a good location in central of city. Near Rambla and easy access. Go give it a try. I like the food there

Beautiful place, very excited to eat here. Delicious mains, desert was a bit off. A little bit disappointed about the service, our waitress was very rude from the beginning. Felt rushed while ordering and eating.
