The chef's here are clearly well trained and very talented. The ingredients used are very high quality. A little on the pricier (especially for a market stall), however if you want a high quality meal you can't go wrong here. Steak was perfectly cooked and well seasoned. The fried eggs with octopus was outstanding too. I do wish the artichoke chips were a bit crispier and less oily but not bad. Go here if you want a high quality meal but don't expect cheaper market prices!

First and only meal of first day of trip. Nothing beats hot food after a long flight! The highlight of Quinn was the friendliness of the servers. Our experience would not be the same if not for their nice conversation and smiles. Thank you!

I was meh on the food up until El Quim. I've never said WOW so many times while eating. The oxtail risotto was 💯. Delicate, creamy, perfectly aldente. The foie gras over the bed of mushrooms was literally to die for. It had a crispy almost creme brulee layer that added a hint of sweetness to a beautifully oozing egg with the earthy undertones from the mushrooms. The scallops were fantastic bites but were overshadowed by the other dishes. Lastly, the baby octopus house special was a showstopper. Ultra tender yet buttery smooth clearly from the sea. Will be recommending as a must try to all friends and if I ever come back to Europe, I'll be making a detour just for El Quim.

Everything is on point, service, quality of food and the atmosphere. My friend and I were lucky enough to have seats right away but it can get busy and people waiting. The quality of the food served is top notch, there is an extensive menu and everything is well worth the money. The baby squid and the fried eggs with squid was pretty much my target. I cannot fault this place, it’s one of my favourite tapas places to eat in Barcelona. The grilled prawns was top notch.

Couldn't say enough about the place. Always packed with people. The owner was very welcoming and smile all the time. All crew were very active and helpful. Good English speaker and also has English menu. I ordered potato omelette and potato with spicy sauce. Both are so good and too bad I didn't try the seafood yet because it was a bit early to me as I was looking for breakfast. Very KOOL place to eat, big portion, and reasonable price. A hidden gem

We were lucky to get a seat for four fairly quickly (it was around 3pm and they close at 4). Service was quick and friendly and everything we ordered was superb! The fried eggs with squid was unique although a splurge, padron peppers soft and addictive, croquettes fried perfectly and very creamy and the mussels were fresh. A great experience in the middle of the hectic market!

Very limited seats. You have to wait for someone to leave. Seating area is like a bar. Stool to sit on and high bar space circling the kitchen. But our server was great considering how busy it is. Food was good. Some dishes were wow and other were good. Tell you what, they know how to fry and egg!

We waited for around 30 minutes to get a seat for 3 people. No one really helped us find a seat because they were all busy. We kinda understood but it would be nice if we knew what was the queue system is like because many were just waiting for empty seats as well. We ordered a few dish but the ones that stood out for us were the oxtail and squid with eggs. The oxtail was so tender and flavorful and big enough for two. The squid with eggs was subtle and unique. Hope to return again on a less busy time.

It’s not a meal, it’s an experience. Dining in the heart of the bustling Boqueria Market is a treat for the senses. Don’t be put off by the wait to get a seat, it will paid dividends. The food is stellar, featuring fresh ingredients cooked to perfection. The food is not pretentious but the preparation is amazing.

Great bar for quick bites or even a full lunch. We had Sea food platter, fries with spicy sauce and croquetas. All of which were tasty and great. We felt the platter del mar was a bit expensive for what it was at around ~40.00€. But it was all quality food and the service was great. We were glad we made it before the the bar close at 5:00pm (17:00). Wish you continuous success!

Get ready for a top gastronomic experience...although get ready to line up for it as well. El Quim sits in the middle of la Boqueria, probably the best food market in the world and a must visit in Barcelona if you are a tourist. Initially el Quim sold food -mainly eggs en related stuff- but, as many other places, they started cooking eggs, then tapas for few seats and now they have also tables for it. Any of their tapas is a gem, both for the quality of the food and for the execution. Can not advice a specific one as all the ones I tasted today we're excellent: risotto, bravas, eggs with squids, red tuna with foie,... Must go. Not cheap at all, but worth the experience.

Really nice bar at Barcelona market. We tried their famous baby octopus with fried eggs, jamon and sausage. I would probably give the sausage a miss next time. The white beans that came with the sausage was creamy and delicious. The baby octopus was tasty but nothing out of this world.

Super cute tapas / brunch stall in the middle of the busy market. You kind of hover over the high top chairs until you can get a seat. The turnover is quite quick, service and food are very efficient. We had the fried eggs and squid - very fresh, peppery and delicious. You speed up the process by handing your dishes and garbage to the guys behind your counter at the end.

Lovely place inside the market. You kinda have to loiter around the chairs to secure a spot. It's always busy so best of luck. We came towards closing and they were kind enough to let us sit since we were waiting close to 30mins. Once seated the cooks/servers will greet you and take your order. It's a bar concept so up order at the bar where you are sitting. Go with the sangria. It's refreshing. As for the food. Nothing goes wrong. They are famous for a few items that got featured on travel shows. They are well marked on the menu. But do venture out. The dessert and coffee were wonderful. They will cheer you on if you tip then nice.

Had the signature fried eggs with squid here. Felt the dish was overrated. The dish was quite an interesting concept with the two egg yolks adding to the body of the sauce. The squids alone tasted very ordinary but when paired with the eggs were pretty good. Even so I don’t think it justifies the pricing at €20. It was a unique dish and a must try but I do not think I will return.

(Translated by Google) A reference. You can't come to La Boqueria and go eat some eggs at El Quim de la Boqueria. He is a great chef. Everything is delicious. It is usually always full, but really. It is worth waiting to grab a place and eat. The entire team is great. There is also Yuri, his son who is also a crack at the stove. We highly recommend it. What an awesome place for a visit! There is no queue, depending on the size of your party, you need to wait behind people that you think will finish their meals first. I would not recommend a large group as they don’t have a ton of seating, but if you must, either separate or have a few people sit and order some food and rotate. After waiting for about 10 minutes, I was able to snag a seat for 1. I had the eggs with mushrooms and roasted peppers and both were awesome. They have menus in multiple languages given their popularity amongst tourists. Do not expect tapas prices, I paid over 25 euros for my two dishes. Here it’s about quality, so pick what you think you’d enjoy. I saw a lot of people getting the baby squid.

Awesome place for breakfast. First of all, I loved the vibe. Food great too - I had eggs with ham and potatoes. However, husband had eggs with baby squids and he did not enjoy it that much. Nevertheless, totally recommend orange juice, it is the best.

Amazing place, some of the best food I’ve had on our Spain trip by far. Mushrooms cooked in wine were so good as was the aubergine/greens mix. Seafood pasta was immaculate. Only thing we thought was just good/ok were the croquettes, they were fine but I’ve certainly had better elsewhere. That’s no deterrent though, everything else was perfect.

If you ever visit Barcelona, this is a MUST GO TO. The food is absolutely delicious and the owner makes sure everyone is satisfied with their food. The spicy potatoes are sooo good and so is the steak. My husband had the eggs with the baby squid and said his mouth waters everytime he thinks of that meal. The staff is friendly. TRY CREMACATALANA! (If you like creme brulee) PS: It's very popular, so you might need to hustle for a seat. PPS: Beware of pickpocketing (the guards will remind you to keep your belongings to your front and not on your back).

Right in the middle of the Mercat de la Boqueria, the popular tourist landmark. The food and coffee were nice. We ordered a seafood platter and really enjoyed it. Good to have a bite when visiting this popular public market.

Everything was great. Good food, great service, and ambience. It is an experience not to miss. We love the slow cook ribs the best and definitely recommend it. Oxtail risotto is also delicious. It's central barcelona price and for the quality and experience it is worthwhile.

Definitely an experience to eat at the Mercat de la Boqueria. El Quim was extremely busy and there is no proper way to wait for seats, you just have to look at who you think will finish first and wait behind them. Food was really good - very solid tapas! The garlic shrimps and croquettes were absolutely delicious (definitely a must order!) I would also recommend the artichoke chips and the green piquillo peppers for fun and tasty appetizers. The tomato bread was a very generous portion and very tasty. I would probably skip their signature fried egg with ham dish next time, it was good but nothing special. Would be back for sure!

Very good restaurant in the market. A bit expensive as they are capitalizing on the hype but the food is worth it. I have to say the squid and eggs are good but the mushroom and foie gras plate is even better. I'd recommend stopping here if you are in the market.

It’s a simple casual dining setting by the bar. We knew right away it was a really popular place as there were quite some ques before we got our seats. Although it was crowded and busy, the staff was very attentive and helpful in trying to get us seats as soon as possible. We were very impressed they didn’t forget us because there were really A LOT of people in the wait. Once we got our seats, we ordered a pan of paella for two which was just enough for us. The portion is quite big and we didn’t finish it, but it was very tasty! It was our first paella and we were already in heaven. (The staff who was featured in the video was the kind one I mentioned about. Thank you!)

If I could give it 6 stars I would! Excellent food, friendly service and patient in their delivery. Almost meditative experience to watch them Cook as it is clear the guys are passionate about it. We had the omlete (assorted), beef steak with foie gras sauce, sandwiches and the pinnacle was the Peru Dessert. Coffee is great too. Glad we ended the Barcelona trip with this stop. If there is a next time, will Definitely visit again.

Dining at El Quim at the Boqueria is an absolute delight. The experience of sitting at the counter, watching your food being prepared with skill and precision, adds a level of enjoyment that is hard to replicate. The freshness and boldness of the flavors, combined with the warm and welcoming atmosphere, make it a truly memorable food experience. Don't be afraid to embrace the culinary adventure that El Quim offers – you won't be disappointed.

The food was amazing, the staff was very friendly and attentive, the only issue is GETTING a seat. You have to stand behind the people you want to take the seat of. This means you have to be quick and pay attention to those around you. It also means that while you are eating, there are people behind you trying to mentally hurry you along and getting ready to take your seat.

You can expect really quality food to be served here. Located in the bustling La Boqueria Market, it can get really crowded and you’d have to wait around to get a seat. You’d have to eye patrons who seem like they are close to finishing their meal and just hover around them - otherwise you will not be able to get a seat at all. We had the signature baby octopus served with egg which was super delectable and very obviously the star of the restaurant. We also had their anchovies and pork which were of excellent quality as well. Bread is given with your meal so you can use it to lap up any remaining juices/gravy from your meal. Together with our glasses of sangria, it was a meal that I would remember for a while. Would definitely recommend.

It's difficult to get a seat during lunch time but the wait will be compensated by the excellent and fast service. The croquettes are to die for! I also loved the black pudding. It's very tasty. Perfect for a Filipino palate. I loved this place.

The octopus is amazing! 👌🏻Sangria is quite sweet and not so alcoholic. Avoid the aubergine 🍆😫it tasted weird (maybe because of the seasoning and it was not fresh). Generally speaking, their tapas is not bad but try not to go in peak hours as it is quite popular in the market and the queue was long. The staff was patient and nice

You may think La Boqueria in Barcelona is a touristic destination and you won’t be wrong, but you should also know this is where most good restaurants in town shop. El Quim is one of the oldest and busiest bars in the market — they have been serving breakfast for more than 30 years, an absolute institution. So don’t be a tourist and (just) come to take some colorful photos. Dive deep in the isles and discover really good Catalan food. They are the most famous for their fried eggs, pictured here with chipirones (baby squid). And when I say fried I mean oil-dripping-delicious-you-better-go-for-a-run-after fried ? •
