The Barcelona Cathedral is my favorite spot in the city. Its beauty and remarkable architecture create a captivating experience, especially within the stunning interior. Don't miss the rooftop – my personal favorite – offering an amazing city view. Seeing Barcelona from this elevated perspective is a must for a truly enchanting visit!

Awesome cathedral with tons to look at. It has a bunch of walk up exhibits to look at various paintings and sculptures. The inside of the building is magnificent with the stained glass and high ceiling interior. The front is closed off from getting up close but you can still see it from afar. The rooftop experience is alright - nothing special. My only gripe is the only restroom is outside near the exit and requires payment

This is a must see if one visit Barcelona, Spain. I took a one day city tour bus (green line) to reached there, paid euro 30 for 1 adult. I sat on the open top tour bus, when the bus about to reached the cathedral from afar and stopped next to it, the excitement built up and one word ‘breathtaking’! Literally my jaw dropped, and my eyes were feasting on this cathedral! Word had to give new meaning. The cathedral was very grand, tall, a lot of details, very, very beautiful and one had to take time to admire it and gave thanks for able to view such a creation. I spend my entire afternoon admiring the cathedral. So much to see and appreciate.

A beautiful cathedral is the Gothic Quarter in a beautiful area with cafes and shops. You can get tickets for to enter just to the side by the tourist information office or online. It is worth a visit to see the beautiful architecture and view from the top (extra charge). There was a long line to go up to the top, so keep this in mind if you have limited time to visit. Visitors can also light a candle, stop to pray, enjoy to sanctuary, visit the geese and the courtyard. Our only disappointment was the huge stage and staging area set up in front of the cathedral for a festival. But, it did not take away from the overall experience. Location: Gothic Quarter close to metro stops and taxi drop off areas If you find this helpful, please click the 👍 below and follow me for more.

From the Cathedral itself, to the square it is located in, is definitely worth a visit... the square offers social interaction with musicians performing, dogs playing and people socializing. The cathedral is breathtaking from every angle and make for amazing pictures. The beauty of the architecture and spirituality of the place is just exceptional. Would recommend a visit to everyone, even if you are not religious

Another amazing place to see. You can buy tickets online and use a QR code. Or you can go to the information building next door and purchase tickets to go in. Along with the general admission ticket you can go to the roof and over look the city on the skyline. Be respectful when you enter and enjoy all of the history

Don't go on Sunday. We had to buy the ticket on the spot because for Sunday you cannot buy it online. You have to buy ticket that includes Diocesan museum which was not worth a visit, almost nothing in it is described in English. The cathedral is really beautiful, but when buying ticket on the spot there is no audio guide so no info about it is available. Also, the rooftop was closed due to maintenance and no one bothered to inform us when we bought the tickets. We missed that part and we were eager to see the view. I believe it is worth a visit but make sure to buy tickets online and think twice before buying one that includes the visit to the museum.

This cathedral is one of the most iconic and famous places/monuments. It exactly deserves to visit and spend a couple of hours. By the elevator, you can go to the roof and see the fascinating view of Barcelona. Although some parts of the top are under construction, there is enough space to look around. Also, in the small museum in its garden, you can see a lot of antics goods. After your visit, you can discover the gothic streets

Beautiful cathedral where you will pay €15 for entrance to see museum, cathedral and rooftop. They had some technical issues to see the rooftop, but everything else was wonderful. You also scan barcode and you get an audio guide. Very nice and peaceful. Pretty garden outside with the famous white geese chilling in the middle of the garden. The cathedral is easy to find with Google maps, and it’s pretty central too.

(Translated by Google) Cathedral of Santa Cruz and Santa Eulalia in Barcelona. It is a very beautiful gothic cathedral. The Choir stalls have an excellent job that began in 1390 by order of Bishop Ramón de Escales, very important and of great beauty. King CARLOS V decided that the XIX Chapter of the Order of the Golden Fleece be held in Barcelona. The Cathedral has a Cloister, whose measurements are 25 m. per side, plus 6 m. wide for each gallery that surrounds it. The Cathedral can be visited at certain times. With an elevator you can go up to the roof. It has an important museum. Several side chapels with Saints, the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the Virgin Mary and Christ of Lepanto, etc. highly revered. Inside the Cathedral compound there is the Chapel-Oratory dedicated to Saint Lucia. (Original) Catedral de la Santa Cruz y de Santa Eulalia de Barcelona. Es una Catedral gótica muy bonita. I purchased my ticket from the visitors center located beside the cathedral and the interior was breathtaking which left me mesmerized. And oh! The view of the city from the rooftop was so beautiful. A beautiful masterpiece of architecture, design and art! It’s located in the centre of the charming city and within walking distance to other tourist locations. I highly recommend visiting this location whenever you find yourself in Barcelona.

It's a regular cathedral, nothing unusual. There's usually a line to get in and they charge, which I understand due to the volume of visitors. If you're religious, consider attending mass on Sunday instead. That's free (obviously) and you get a better sense of the space because it's closed to visitors

Very imposing, very old, fabulously designed cathedral that has played a vital part in the history of the city. Of course, don't skip the rooftop observation desk (to do so you have to walk into one of the rooms on the left if facing the altar, and scan your ticket to open the door giving an access to the elevator, however, on the day we visited, the door stayed open all the time) and don't skip the thirteen geese leisurely hanging out at their pond or well (opposite side of the cathedral from the rooftop elevator). One practical advise. If you buy your tickets online, (which we recommend you do to skip possible lines), they come with a free guide (can be downloaded on Google Play or Apple App Store), for which you will need your airpods/earbuds. The trick is, the access to the app/guide is limited to one day. The code is included in your tickets. It will work only on the day of your visit. I tried the code in the hotel to check if it is working, and sure enough, in a few hours, inside the cathedral the code was deemed invalid. So do not type in the code unless you are inside the cathedral.

It's an amazing place, the rooftop visit is a highlight, offering awe-inspiring panoramic views that provide a unique vantage point to appreciate the city's charm. Inside, the cathedral's ancient architecture showcases impeccable craftsmanship, creating a space that exudes a profound sense of holiness. A visit here is a journey through time and an opportunity to experience the spiritual ambiance that defines this remarkable place.

The Cathedral of Barcelona is such a beautiful, gothic building! Some of the best views can be had from the terrace of the hotel across the street from it, but is also amazing at the foot of the steps. So many people gather here in worship and awe.

Very beautiful church. 9 euros to enter which allows you up to the rooftop as well where there are lovely views of the city. I forgot I was wearing a hat and they made me take it off. My shorts were mid thigh and they didn't say anything. They did have shawls for sale for 2 euros though if you need one. Lots of gorgeous architecture inside, you can go down to see a crypt area, into a special seating area which was gorgeous and there is a nice courtyard before you exit.

Amazing and well ornamented cathedral in Barcelona's center. I would definitely recommend visiting it because of the authentic atmosphere and overall feel of the place and surrounding streets. Cathedral of Barcelona is huge and you will need at least 15 minutes to see everything just from the outside. It is located a 5-minute walk away from Pl. Catalynia.

Beautiful cathedral, worth a visit if you’re in town and if you’re into architecture/are religious. I am neither but went there because I was with my family. FYI there is wheelchair access, just not through the main entrance. Ask someone at the main entrance for directions and they will help you. People with reduced mobility get in free too.

Entrance from the museum (20metres from the entrance) 8euros. Church Is very bitg but not as nice and detailed than the ones in Rome. You can go To the roof where you can see all of Barcelona. Also a little museum that hosts items all the way from 1000 years.

The building is magnificent and huge. For me this was the first cathedral to be visited and it was mouth opening. Also, in front of the cathedral there is a Christmas Festival where you can buy all Christmas decorations and scents. Also, in the same area you can sit in a restaurant for proper Tapas or a cafe for coffee hot chocolate or the close to my heart Valeria for Churros. From another side you can walk to La Rambla and also you can do shopping as it is in the heart of everything 💙💙💙

The inside of the Catedral de Barcelona is beautiful. Fascinating to see all the people who have shrines. They have beautiful Organ that most people probably overlook. The visit to the Catedral can be a super quick one for some and a fast one for others. There is an outdoor area once you are looking to exit so give yourself and extra 10 minutes to explore that. Beware of the clowns up front. They'll try to get in your pictures or offer to take your picture and then demand money.

Beautiful building and stained glass, didn't expect the courtyard and geese Top tip:Try and go up to the roof for 12pm when you can hear the bells ring in the towers but also all over the city. There are toilets here but you need 1 euro coin to enter. You can also buy the red candles in a little shop in the courtyard and light them for lost loved ones.

The Cathedral of the Holy Cross and Saint Eulalia is a Gothic cathedral. You'll be amazed by the interior's magnificent sculptures, carvings, and architectural brilliance once you step inside. Simple to get there by bus or metro. Purchases of tickets can be made online or at the counter at the entrance to the cathedral. You can access the top of the Cathedral through an elevator inside, which is included in the 9 EUR entry ticket. There, you may take in the lovely view of the city. This is a must-see landmark in Barcelona.

During our 4 days stay we visited this location couple of times. It offers many different faces. As well many artists spend part of their time there. A guitar player, dancer, a clown and one evening we had a chance to listen to opera singer. One there and joined by one just passing by. What an evening it was - for this wan we had to go a bit up the street next to the cathedral.

Was very nice, we didn’t stay too long as it closed early the day we went but it wasn’t nearly as busy as other places so we decided to have a look. It’s located in a very lovely plaza and has lots of food and things to do in and around the area. Was worth the visit if you’re in this part of town. They have several restaurants and other museums to check out in the area.

This place is so beautiful and impressive and I absolutely adore the attention to details all around. The square is so vivid and when we got there on Friday there was a cute vintage market going on which I absolutely loved the vibe of!! You can walk around the cathedral and the entire thing feels like walking in an ancient city.

Really beautiful Cathedral. You would not think by looking at it from the outside that it is particularly remarkable to any other cathedral, but I definitely recommend purchasing a ticket to go inside. It has a stunning interior, with so much to take in. Do not miss the opportunity to take the elevator up to the roof. It's a part of your ticket! Be careful of the 2 white faced ladies who loiter around the front of the cathedral and who deliberately photo bomb your photos and pose with you. They are not doing it for nothing, and payment is x 2!! 😂

Barcelona Cathedral, where the Archbishop resides. It is said that only archbishops reside in Sagria Family. It is a cathedral that is sufficiently beautiful and worthy. Don't miss out and visit. We were lucky enough to stay in a hotel with a view of the cathedral, so we were able to see the cathedral as a starting point every day wherever we went. It is true that we are blessed.

We han an amazing visit The balcony is a must see, the views of barcelona are one of the best I've seen. There is a digital audio guide to download and learn the history of the cathedral. You can donate to light a candle and speak to make a confession if you wish. The artwork, upkeep, and infrastructure of the cathedral were incredible. The old woodwork and painted ceilings, as well as stained glass, was one of my favourites. The walk up the tower to the balcony has been reserved and kept the same throughout the years so you can immerse yourself in the history as you visit. We purchased tickets in line for 14€/person (tourist entrance), it was worth every penny. There was no line and with this ticket we could visit all the small chapels inside and small museum with the historic armour and weaponry

Precious Cathedral. The Eucharist is celebrated all week at 12pm and 7pm in spanish. Some others services are celebrated, but I'm not sure of the schedule. However, there's no perpetual adoration, and if you don't come to Mass, you have to pay for entry. It'd be nice to have a perpetual adoration Chapel if possible.

Buy your tickets days in advance! The tough lesson I have learned in Barcelona is when they say "reserve in advance" it means "we sell out and you wont get in without reserving in advance". There is truly no waiting in line for tickets anywhere. Quick change of plans and we toured a couple days later, and it was worth it. The audio tour, approx 45 min, took us 2.5 hours to complete. If you are a history nerd, double any projected times for attractions.

You could take a free (just tip him/her at the end) walking tour with a local guide through the area, and they will give you some good information and history. Or, you can simply walk through the area yourself, and still have a great experience. Just get off of the main streets and explore. You'll find amazing places, restaurants, etc., and your day will fly by very quickly.

An Impressive Monument in the Heart of the Barri Gòtic, the City's Oldest Quarter. La Catedral is Barcelona's central place of worship that presents a magnificent image. The richly decorated main facade, laced with gargoyles and the stone intricacies you would expect of northern European Gothic, sets it quite apart from other churches in Barcelona. Take your time and enjoy your visit.

Absolutely gorgeous! We spent two hours there of our busy schedules visiting Barcelona. Highly recommend! A Roman Catholic Church started building in 1298 then last centuries to complete and improve to its perfection of 90x40x53 meters in beautiful Gothic style. Enjoyed the peaceful vibes along the courtyard, terrace, sculptures, plants and definitely the lovely white geese (13 in total) in the pond.

A beautiful cathedral. It was nice to come in and get away from the bustle of the city. We were able to climb up on the cathedral roof, but it was under construction, so it was a bit underwhelming. Very traditional gothic type of cathedral and we loved seeing the history, but would probably skip this if we were short on time. Note: Visited in Jan 2020 but catching up on reviews because- COVID.

Barcelona Cathedral, also known as Catedral de la Santa Creu I Santa Eulalia, is an old Cathedral that was erected in phases and over several eras; some elements were completed in 1448, while others were added in the late 19th century. The Archbishop of Barcelona, Spain, also has a house in this edifice. It was a lot of joy to be here in November of 2021. My visit was made even more memorable by the weather, food, and a person costumed as a clown. If you happen to be in Barcelona, you should pay this site a visit.

The cathedral is wonderful inside and outside. And everything is well described inside. So, I took my time and went to every station La Catedral had to offer. Totally worth seeing it in the Gotic Hood. Mask of course is obligatory to wear. So they also take care of the current pandemics situation :).

Construction of the magnificent Gothic Cathedral of Barcelona commenced on 1 May 1298, on the site of a Romanesque temple. The work was carried out in three stages over 150 years. As is true for many religious buildings, construction had to move at a slow pace. The main façade was raised at the end of the 19th century, while the 90-meter high cimborio went up in 1913. In 1969 the blackened domes were cleaned, the altar adapted, illumination installed and the archives were renovated. These actions were carried out following the guidelines established in Vatican Council II. The façade and cimborio were restored between 2004 and May of 2012; that work has not yet been completed and includes restoration of the rooftops and the bell tower. Our beautiful Cathedral receives three million visitors each year. The magnificence of its Gothic art, the splendid Gothic and Baroque altarpieces, its marvelous choir, the baptistery and the sepulcher of Saint Eulalia are evident to all observers. Naturally, our See, located in Barcelona's Gothic neighborhood, offers all the fundamental religious services. There are daily Masses, well-attended confessions, baptisms of children and adults. We also provide shelter and vigil services, aimed at maintaining order and attending to those people who require special attention. Of particular interest is the conventual Mass held every Sunday, with the intervention of the famous Francesc Valls chamber choir. The See of Barcelona is both beautiful and well-cared for. The Canons – the priests responsible for its upkeep – ensure that worship services are appropriately maintained and that faithful and visitors alike feel at home. Indeed, the Cathedral is the house of Our Lord and also that of all human beings. We hope that this site helps you to find what you expect from the Cathedral of Barcelona. You will be surprised by what is has to offer as a temple, a museum, a sanctuary,.... The faithful will find sustenance for their souls and everyone's spirits will be lifted on contemplating the beauty of this monument.

Beautiful old gothic church in Barcelona. The indoor architecture design was amazing. I highly recommend this landmark of a religious interest. Lovely panoramic view of the city from the top of church but limited number of people allowed inside elevator so it might take you longer to the top but otherwise great experienced to see the view.

Although not as nice or impressive as La Sagrada Familia, this Cathedral is still impressive and filled with a lot of great art and history. You can buy tickets online or in person, pay cash or credit. For 9€ you can walk inside and take the lift to the rooftop for a cool view of the city. For 15€ you can also access the museums. There is a visitor center directly to the left of the cathedral’s entrance if you want to buy some tour packages or ask questions about the cathedral, the audio tour, etc. Bathrooms available inside but bring coins for access. Beware, one of them was closed so the coins were lost. There is also a gift shop inside towards the exit. Recommend to go during the week to avoid crowding, especially for the roof access.

The cathedral is absolutely beautiful. On New Year’s Day, there was a mass in Catalan. I also got to explore the interior while it was taking place. The gothic architecture was really impressive. It’s a nice church to visit when you’re in the Gothic Quarter of Barcelona. It’s well worth a visit as entry should be free.

It’s a great opportunity for me to see this beautiful historical place. It’s a typical Gothic style cathedral and so grand and full of arts, history and treasures. I was surprised that we could take the elevator to the tower to see the city of Barcelona! I was confused about the advertisement billboard on exterior wall of the cathedral. It must have a reason that I don’t know but it does not fit there. Very strange feeling.

Barcelona cathedral is one of the most iconic place. The ticket cost 9 euro but worth every pennies. Don’t miss Barcelona skyline, you can go to the roof and see the fascinating view of Barcelona by elevator. From the Cathedral square located on front offers a variety of musical performing!

What an incredible Cathedral, with so much history. I’d recommend getting your tickets online, then you can take the fast track route, on the right side of the main door… again this ain’t explained for sign-posted very well. There is an audio tour, you need to access the website (data required) and use the passcode from your booking to access this, again recommend having some headphone to hand. There are two audio your options, the 30 or 50 minute options depending on the time you have available. Note that it costs extra to go up and see the skyline… we didn’t opt for that as the queue was so long! Give yourself plenty of time to soak it all in and listen to as much of the audio your as possible. The only downside is just how much work is going on inside and out, with bits of the tour telling you to look up, however you’re only confronted with building work and green netting. Overall, well worth adding to your list. There are also plenty of places to eat outside in the square… we’d recommend eating here too, the food is great!

Incredible place, long story in short. At the heart of Gothic Quarter, this legendary building invites you to a historical journey. Very calming, exciting place. You can hang out in the area in front of the building, also walk around it to see all the details hidden in different parts.

Visited Barcelona Cathedral 7th June and what a beautiful place! Didn’t go inside but the walk around the Cathedral outside and the square it’s situated in is breathtaking! Honestly was the highlight of my day in Barcelona and felt completely different being in the streets by the Cathedral and The Gothic Quarters compared to in Barcelona centre itself. Found a lovely little walkway from the Gothic Quarter to an indoor part with beautiful flowers and lighting etc which had a some really interesting shops (pictured) including a Rubix Cube shop and a Harry Potter shop! Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Barcelona!

I love the detail and craftsmanship of this place. I mean, the architecture of this cathedral is amazing, especially when it was built hundreds of years ago with no modern tool. The cost is reasonable and we can go on the rooftop and see the town.

What a beautiful cathedral it’s stunning could spend hours walking around I would definitely recommend booking in advance there’s the towers you can go up its a lift up but 600 stairs to go down. It’s definitely worth paying to go up and see the views from the top there’s the museum too and it’s meant to be finished by 2026 would love to go back and see it finished it was very busy and tickets sold out fast

I loved this cathedral and if I only have time to visit one cathedral from the inside then I would choose this one over sagrada familia ( notice am only comparing indoors wise). The history here is rich and the cathedral is pretty old. Beautiful stairs, structures, and rooms. The sky line is all amazing additional add on and it gives you beautiful views of Barcelona! When you finish with the cathedral and walk outside to the gardens, you will have to avoid the beauty of heat architecture and nature merging together! Highly recommended!

Spain 🇪🇸 Barcelona - attractions As a tourist who only had the chance to see the exterior of the Cathedral of Barcelona from the square, I was truly mesmerized by its stunning architecture. The cathedral's intricate details, soaring spires, and harmonious blend of Gothic and Catalan styles left a lasting impression. The cathedral's ornate carvings, delicate decorations, and impressive rose windows contribute to its majestic appearance. Standing in its presence, I couldn't help but appreciate the rich history and cultural heritage of this region. While I didn't have the opportunity to explore the interior, the exterior alone was a testament of beautiful architecture so prevalent throughout this region and Barcelona. I would highly recommend taking a moment to admire it when visiting the city. Its beauty and craftsmanship are bound to leave you in awe.

Our hotel was right outside the cathedral so we went during the day and the grounds are serene and beautiful, especially the outdoor courtyard. At night the church is lit up and there were street performers in the square. Both atmospheres were great, I love how the church looked at night.

Beautiful Cathedral, we paid extra for the tower visit which has beautiful views across the city, we went Monday morning and wasn't too busy and got to tickets from the visitor center next to the cathedral on arrival. Magnificent gothic cathedral in central Barcelona. You have to see it live to appreciate the captivating architecture. Also well lit & quite remarkable at night. There's a small market parked next door (during the day) selling vintage goods. A hop & skip away from my hotel so it became a daily ritual to stop by. An absolute must visit!

A very beautiful place. Need time to soak in the beauty of the cathedral. Also need time to queue to go up the tower. The lift takes up to 8pax at one time. Going up the tower is a MUST. And give yourself time to stay up there. Evening time is the best.

We went there for the Missa del Gall (Office of the night + Song of the Sibyl + Midnight mass) and were blessed to partake in the joy of Christmas with the bishop and people of Barcelona. We were handed nice leaflets with the words and most of the notated music, but almost nobody was singing! How come Catalans don't sing in church? It looks so silly to have a cantor at the front conducting when no sound is coming from the assembly. The professional choir did an excellent job, especially during communion. However we did not want to pay for the "cultural tour". It's nice to have a dedicated space for payer, but if you can't enter without paying money, it's called a museum. Not a church. Museums are great! But there is a fundamental difference between the two. If the shepherds of the gospel were alive today, I doubt they would be able to pay between 8€ and 14€ each to see Mary and Jesus!
