We stopped in Hotel Indigo Barcelona Plaza Catalunya due a cancelled flight and we needed a one night stay in the city. The location of the hotel is excellent, with a variety of Metro and bus stops a few minutes away from the hotel, as well as it having lots to see and do around it. We arrived and checked in, and due to our IHG status we were given an upgraded room which was nice. The room was large, and featured a jetted bath tub (unfortunately we didn’t get a chance to use it). The air-con was great, and the bed was also nice a comfy. The hotel is on a busy road, but we couldn’t hear too much. However, if you are a light sleeper you may want to request a higher floor. Breakfast was very good and featured a huge range of options, it was almost a little overwhelming for first thing in the morning! They also had a wonderful looking pool and terrace, unfortunately we arrived too late to use it. We found most of the staff very friendly, although the receptionist who checked us in wasn’t massively welcoming at first. Overall, it’s a great hotel in a nice location, and perfect for a city break in Barcelona.

Some team member at the reception were nice but we had the experience of one person that should never work in the service business! When we asked if all of our luggages will be kept with one global ticket the guys told us “look there is the number 3 on your ticket! If it was one ticket per luggage I would have not write the 3!” This being said with a lot of attitude. We kindly asked if doing a late check out could be an option and same, the message we had in return was really rude! Other than that, the pool is good, rooms and hotel design is outdated. The carpet was super dirty and would certainly benefit from a fresh touch. The bar was closed all the time.

I had a necklace with a gold cross which contained the ashes of my baby boy whom I lost 16 years ago. I have worn this necklace on every vacation since I lost my baby. On August 26, 2022 while staying in room 602 at the Hotel Indigo Barcelona this necklace was stolen. I was told after an 'exhaustive search with the housekeeping department for the necklace' they did not find it. Here's a tip: ASK THE MAID THAT CLEANED THE ROOM 602 ON AUGUST 26TH! I am heartbroken that this IRREPLACEABLE necklace was STOLEN while staying at this hotel. LOCK YOUR VALUABLES IN THE SAFE IF YOU STAY HERE!!

The location is great, but don't be fooled by the reception telling you to get a room upgrade to the 6th floor by paying 10 euro extra for a room with balcony. The rooms are really small with even smaller and odd shaped toilets and showers with step ups and downs. The breakfast at the hotel was good.

I would have probably given 4 star but then it’s an IHG property and is not really up to standards of IHG that I have seen in other cities/countries. Location is good as you are in the walking distance (if you love walking) to most of the famous places. I feel the rooms need upkeep as we could see the torn sheers and soiled curtains. The room size is just good enough. The breakfast was good, it’s just that the hotel itself did not seem too welcoming. Nothing wrong with the staff though, it’s just the vibe of the place that would probably not make you feel worth of an Indigo/IHG 4 star property.

I stayed in Hotel Indigo in early September, I was there with 2 little kids, absolutely loved the hotel. Location is perfect, few min walk to plaza Catalunya, hotel is modern and perfectly clean, reception staff was very friendly, my reservation got cancelled day before because of a credit card problem but they solved it quickly and even let me a earlier check in with kids. On the last day the kept our baggage and let us to the swimming pool. Very grateful, thank you hotel Indigo 👏

I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with my recent stays at the Intercontinental Indigo Hotel in Barcelona. Regrettably, both visits were marred by an issue that greatly impacted my comfort and well-being. During my stays, I encountered a distressing problem with the bedding provided in my room. To my dismay, the bedsheets triggered severe itching all over my body as well as my son . This discomfort persisted consistently throughout both visits, significantly diminishing the quality of my stay and causing immense inconvenience and discomfort. As a guest, I anticipated a comfortable and relaxing experience, yet the distress caused by the bedding has left a lasting negative impression. This unexpected discomfort not only disrupted my rest but also affected my ability to fully enjoy the amenities and services your esteemed establishment offers. I kindly urge you to address this pressing matter promptly to ensure that future guests do not encounter similar issues. As a loyal patron of your hotel chain, I believe in the high standards of service and comfort that the Intercontinental Indigo brand upholds, and I sincerely hope that immediate measures will be taken to rectify this issue. I would greatly appreciate a follow-up regarding the steps taken to address this concern and ensure the comfort and well-being of your guests in the future.

Spacious room. Bar and restaurant were closed due to Covid but hotel staff were friendly. Small but well equipped gym. Nice pool but it was too cold to use mid January. There is a lot of outdoor terrace space creating an oasis away from the street noise. This is a well located hotel minutes from Plaza Catalunya. Spent 9 days there!

Cozy stay, great location. Stayed for two nights, rooms were quite spacious. Free water was provided. Breakfast staff was really nice tho, didn’t catch his name but he’s cool, called me Pedri :) for my jersey. Location is good, near the shopping district and a lot of Asian food options around.

Great stay at this hotel! Service was top notch, especially from Iman (not sure how to spell his name) who took such great care of me during check in and helped me with every request throughout my stay. Thank you Iman for the wonderful service! Rooms were also very comfortable and bathroom was nice and modern. Also great location walking distance to many attractions. My only critiques are the lack of AC in the floor hallways, the sometimes unresponsive elevator, and the motion sensor lights in the hallways did not always come on.

Overall a nice hotel. Our room was a bit tiny but comfy (even if cleanliness could be improved and damaged furniture renewed or fixed..), the hotel's staff was friendly and helpful and we loved the breakfast buffet! Location is really good too as a lot of places can be reached by foot.

Stayed here for one night but had a wonderful experience. We had the pleasure of staying on the very top floor facing the poor so it was nice and quiet. I really love the terrace. All the extra little perks like coffee, teas, cookies, and bathroom is well equipped with little essentials. Located on the big road close to shopping area so I feel really safe.

Although there are good and bad things about this hotel, I believe people need to be aware of the challenges. 1. If you are bringing a car, you will need to find parking first. It is around the corner in the public garage. That is more than I was given from the staff who just wrote two words on a piece of paper and urged me to leave the taxi lane where I was parked. I don't blame them, but without good instruction it was messy. 2. The carpet on our floor hallway were stained every two feet. I booked this as an upscale hotel and expected that the interior matched that concept. 3. The upgraded room we got put in had missing flooring boards in the corner. Otherwise, the place was clean and the breakfast was adequate. I was not disappointed with the hotel outside of thinking it was a 4.5 star place. It is clearly a nice 3.5-4 star hotel.

Hotel is in a good location. The elevators are the slowest in the world. My room had a nice view of the street but the layout was a little odd. Bathroom didn't have enough light and had some mold. Bed was a bit too hard for me. Furniture was a bit worn. TV had no English language channels. Wifi was nice and fast. Staff were generally nice. Barcelona has so many hotels that I would stay somewhere else if I go back.

Rooms are small but very clean. Empoyees are very kind and will help you to the best of there ability like finding a place to eat when most places are closed or something as simple as ordering a taxi. Location is wonderful for walking and seeing the town.

Great rooms, bathrooms, nice pool area, lovely decors, and 2 iMac business stations (very helpful!!!). Good location for taxi pickup, and not far from the Gothic quarter or the shopping areas. All receptions staff was very helpful. Restaurant recommendation was the "El National" close by and it did not disappoint. Delicious dinner and fantastic atmosphere - all a short walk away. Would stay again!

Excellent amenities including the sun roof solarium and small pool, both had a boutique feel and were very clean and cute. Rooms were fabulous, I highly recommend upgrading to the balcony room it is well worth the extra $. Will return! Cute bar and great service from Jarra.

Clean nice rooms, we got a free upgrade because they weren't full while we were staying. The guy that checked us in gave us some great local recommendations for places to eat and things to do, staff were really friendly and helpful and the breakfast was good. Just be aware if you're a tourist you'll be charged 'local taxes' when you check out.

We enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Indigo. Positives are the location (you can walk to most places of interest) and the friendly staff on reception. The bar was closed for the entirety of our 4 night stay, which is a shame as it looked nice and meant we could only really use the hotel as a place to sleep. Hopefully it will reopen soon.

As seems to be the case in all of Spain there is a concerted effort to get smokers to take over all outdoor areas. We had a room with a great patio and fortunately it was off season so we were mostly on our own outside. But ashtrays are everywhere and the patios are smoking AND right next to a smoking area. Healthy nonsmokers: do not get a room with a deck or patio!

Really amazing trip. My luggage was damaged before I arrived the hotel and the hotel receptionist Ms. valerie helped us to handle everything. We translated a thank you letter for her. She was so kind that we will still choose the hotel next time.
