Came here for my birthday today to enjoy a drink on the terrace. Ignored for more than 20 minutes. Asked staff if they could take our order, told just a moment to then not come back at all. One waiter saw that we were trying to put in an order but was too busy flirting with two female guests so didn't come over either. Another 10 minutes go by and finally we were able to place an order. Drinks arrived and my Pepsi had a piece of plastic packaging in the drink. For a 5 star hotel it's definitely not 5 star service. Positive side is the view is brilliant.

Stayed here 9 nights so we got us a suite, amazing beach view & sea view, i did enjoy seeing sunset , beautiful!! The view is most valuable for W Barcelona I guess. Need to be highlighted, breakfast at the hotel was amazing! Gym is good but many people didn’t know the manner, no responsibility to return the tools after they used. They just throw things on the floor then left. Spa - pool & steam room are opened, need to make appointments, they control the amount of people of each hour. However when you go down to the room cleanliness standards, that’s terrible, really not worth with the price I paid for. i found the towel in the bathroom is very old they should consider to replace it. The worst thing is I saw some blood stains on the towel, few days later I found another towels with blood stain again. I was so unlucky I guess.

Victor out on the beach was very helpful and enthusiastic. He deserves special praise for being positive and helpful all day in the sun. The hotel was clean and the cocktails in the bar were top class. If I HAD to find a fault, it would be that the Eclipse bar wasn't quite as nice as the rest of the hotel. It was a bit underwhelming but, the staff there were also amazing. I will definitely stay here again when I'm next in Barcelona. 👍🏽

This a Hotel with an extraordinary location that offers a spectacular view of the Mediterranean sea as well as of the city. The customer service was amazing and the room was both comfortable and spacious. The W Barcelona provides everything expected of a luxury type stay; the restaurant within the premises is a good choice for great cuisine. I was a bit let down during check-in when the person at the counter did not provide us with a room upgrade (which we normally receive due to our Bonvoy Tier), he instead wanted us to pay pretty much double of what I had paid, for a room with more space, but it’s view was less than what we had originally wanted; I’m happy we decided to keep our original reservation and declined the “upgrade”, since we had a surprise champagne bottle waiting for us-courtesy of the W Insider personnel- and our marina view was more than we imagined. The Hotel did honor the late checkout request and there were always people providing both a smile and second to none assistance. Stay here if you visit Barcelona and enjoy your trip at another level.

The rooftop bar is a complete scam. Despite multiple calls before our arrival with a group of 10people,we were instructed to arrive by 7 pm, as they supposedly couldn't reserve a table for drinks. Upon our arrival at 9pm we were made to wait for approximately 40 minutes only to be informed that we could be accommodated if we agreed to a minimum spend of 1500 euros which I accepted. Once inside we found the venue to be empty. I ordered a 900 Euro bottle of vodka and was informed that only Red Bull could be served with it, an absurd notion as bottles typically come with a selection of mixers and ice. The waiter insisted on an additional 600 euros to meet the minimum spend, to which I refused, stating that I had agreed to a minimum spend not 1500 euros per round. The waiter became aggressive bringing a colleague to our table and after another firm refusal they returned after 10 minutes to claim there was no more 900 euro vodka, demanding I order a 2000 euro bottle. Again, I declined and opted for a 575 Euro bottle from the menu, only to be told I had to order three at once. Frustrated i told them that what they were doing was a complete scam nd a manager joined in repeating the need to order more. At this point we decided to leave, facing aggressive attempts from staff and security to make us stay. This experience was a bitter disappointment, especially as a loyal member of the W Hotels chain, and I am unlikely to choose any of their hotels again after this blatant tourist scam.

It’s out of the way and offers seclusion from the hustle and bustle of the inner city but at the same time there is vivid nightlife literally a stone throw away from the lobby. The taxis are widely available from out the front and are very cheap in perspective. Hotel employees are superb and offer brilliant advice and make your stay very welcoming. Our room was very plush and had technology throughout that made our stay very pleasant indeed. The European style buffet was very good and offers everything you need to get your day off to a good start. Overall a superb location with amazing rooftop bars and music, we found it very enjoyable. Brilliant use of technology throughout the hotel. Exactly what I expected from this hotel and so much more. Highly recommended.

Even we mentioned it several times. Our dog was not drinking it. We were buying her water from the supermarket however she usually drinks even from the sea. Also when you do a coffee or tea it tastes bad - we were traveling with the dog. They charge 35€ and don’t even offer a bowl. So really just for the air - we asked to clean the room when we left with the dog for a walk. Nobody did it - considering that the hotel belongs to Marriott chain it looses a lot. Sleeping quality extremely disappointing Would we come back? No!! Only when we will really miss the view.

And let's not even start on those massages – they were simply heavenly! On our last day, after checking out, we ventured into the city for one final excursion, only to be caught in a torrential downpour. When we returned to the hotel to retrieve our suitcases, we were pleasantly surprised to find that the staff had not only offered us towels but had also granted us access to the spa for a quick change without us having to ask. The room is clean, but no frills. The mini bar/coffee machine is hidden in a closet, so didn't find until I was leaving. The breakfast options included with my stay were very good. Choose the Buffet or order what you'd like off the menu. All and all the service was good. It's definitely a nice place to check out, but the room is a deal breaker for me.

Kind of a let down for a 5 star hotel. The room was spacious, clean and very well equipped. The bed was super comfy, maybe the best part about the hotel. The breakfast was diverse but most cooked items were lacking any taste. They seem to have something against salt. The staff was generally friendly and helpful, however, one evening the doorman asked to see our access card to let us in the hotel. We might have suddenly seemed suspicious I guess. On our last morning there, the access cards started becoming unusable. We couldn’t take the elevators anymore or move around the hotel. It seemed like they were eager for us to check out already. All in all, not the best experience.

We stayed here to celebrate our 25th anniversary and staff made it worth every minute of the stay. FIRE lounge on top floor staff provided us with 10 star service.. If you are looking for a place to party this is your place. There is an amazing view at just about every window. Things are a bit overpriced and their night club is going for exclusivity but without elegance. If you are a light sleeper, make this known before you head to your room to ensure you get a quiet one.

This hotel has beautiful views and rooms but the staff make the stay special. I stayed for a week with breakfast each morning. The greetings by everyone were so welcoming and warm. Alphonsila was especially warm and nice. Perfect trip!

Stay as long as you can and if you can afford it, get the room with the shoreline view. I had room 1608 and it was worth every penny. I feel as if I had a better view than even the top floor bar. Had a wonderful week long stay at the W hotel. Staff is friendly and helpful; food and drinks are yummy. If you’re lucky to get a beach view you can spend mornings meditating with the ocean, and afternoons watching wind surfers. It is a lively spot, especially on club nights, so if you’re looking for something low key, maybe go elsewhere. It’s also a bit far from things so be prepared to take a taxi - there’s always a line outside ready to take you into the city.

Rooms have been good and since going back on standard time you can see at breakfast without a flashlight. It's a very nice hotel in a nice beach location but... My room had a great view but the curtains didn't open and close with the switch. The sink drain stopper didn't open and had to be removed by hand. One of the light switches that were press on and off popped off. Breakfast was good but the lighting was so dim it wasn't dimly lit and cool, it was just dark. It was so dark that it was hard to see. Staff was very nice throughout though.

Beautiful views, but away from the city center. A couple of restaurants nearby. Everything else, you need a taxi or Uber. I mistakenly left my wedding ring on the night table. Called within 24 hours. I never got it back. They flat out said they looked everywhere and other people checked in after me. Does that mean the housekeeping staff didn't clean before they checked someone else in? 25 years of marriage, It never left my finger. Their efforts were very unsatisfactory or follow-up. If you plan on exploring the city, this hotel is in an area that makes it annoying to get out of. It adds probably an extra 10 minutes to travel because it is located on a strip. The area around the hotel is beautiful and right next to the beach but getting out of the area seemed like a nuisance every time.

Great hotel as a 5 star in Barcelona!! We enjoyed our stay there. Staffs are young and professional with good communication. They gave us water and extra blanket pillows. All of us had a such great night sleep with the standard 5 star mattress, blanket and super comfortable pillows . We watched sunset and sunrise from our room, phenomenon view!! The gym is a highlight with ocean view, facility is huge, a must try in this hotel. 1 minute walk from the hotel is a top rated Paella’s restaurant.

We went to the rooftop bar! The view is spectacular! One of the most amazing views I’ve seen in Barcelona! The bar was small but good! I didn’t like the music, DJ was playing very slow songs so just know that you’re not going to a crazy dance club/party! Eat beforehand, there are not too many stores around there and you should go to near neighborhoods if you get hungry ( however if you’re there before 1AM I think the food downstairs in the hotel is still open) also drinks were good!

Very nice hotel and location. I really enjoyed my stay here. There's a just a couple of things about the room I didn't really like. 1) The bathroom/shower design. The bathroom is half see through and you can see into it from the shower and the room. Not sure about you, but I'd rather not have someone be able to watch me in the bathroom. Just awkward and weird, frankly a strange design choice. Way TOO intimate. 2) The provided toilet paper should be better for a $450+ a night hotel room. Other than that, it was very nice with a spectacular view. I liked the touch of the hand written note and cookies delivered to the room on the final night. The location is also good; right on the beach. Some reviews are complaining that's it's too far from the city action, however you know the location before booking. Not sure why that comes as a surprise. It's a trade off for beach proximity and cabs are pretty much always out front.

It's in a beautiful location right on the water. There's a long beach boardwalk where you can see everyone being super active, and there is shopping and restaurants within walking distance. We had an amazing time at this hotel. The receptionist was very courteous when we checked in early due to our flight. The pool area had a fantastic vibe. The breakfast buffet was enjoyable; however, the server forgot about us and didn't take our order until breakfast time was over. Overall, I had a great experience.

We didn't stay at the hotel but had a booking at Fire restaurant for my sisters birthday. We travelled from the UK for the occasion and were not disappointed. Ilan our waiter went above and beyond to ensure my sisters birthday was memorable I could not recommend this restaurant any higher, food was amazing, service impeccable, beautiful decor. Mona also ensured our visit to the bar after food was top class, very polite and could not be more helpful. Will definitely return upon my next visit to Barcelona.

We chose the fabulous room, so we have the ocean view and a bit of oldtown view on the left. We really enjoyed the location and walked to the Gothic Quarter with no problem. Minus one star because of the cleaning - first day, there were marks from toothpaste seen on the sink; second day, they took our towels and didn't provide new ones.

One night was not nearly enough time spent in this beautiful hotel! We had a room on one of the top floors, facing the sea. It was absolutely gorgeous, quiet and comfortable. The rainfall showers are amazing! We ordered room service, which was wonderful, and had dinner beside the full-length window in our bedroom while watching the sunset. We will be back again someday!!

There is also a long walk to the center of the town as there is sea on both side. The food is really great, breakfast has so many options (even though it’s super crowded). When visiting Barcelona this is the perfect place to stay! The W Barcelona is in keeping with the W franchise and meets the 5 star expectation in both accomodation, service, cuisine, location and flair. I had the pleasure to try the spa for a massage which was immensely relaxing. The food in fire was good, but in two instances the food was either over cooked or under cooked. Which is unexpected at this level of establishment. But the real treat is breakfast, which has one of the best options I've seen worldwide. Not just the quality of food but the abundance of high quality offerings and even small niche items. I would definitely come back.

Lobby and lounge are beautiful but room lacked maintenance. We upgraded to a suite for NYE but we had no A/C after repeated calls to maintenance. Several lightbulbs were out including over the vanity, Bose speaker didn’t work…as a Titanium member who paid a premium for the NYE party, this Marriott just did not meet the standard. After speaking with management they gave me some extra points and were apologetic, but the experience was still poor.
