Absolutely wonderful hotel with amazing staff, from door to reception to housekeeping to spa to bar and restaurant. We felt so welcome as soon as we walked through the door and were always greeted with a smile when we went in and out. And there were a few very thoughtful touches throughout our stay that we really appreciated. We ended up spending quite a bit of time in the hotel during our stay because we couldn't get enough of the atmosphere at the Sky Bar. It's hard to put your finger on, but the combination of the chill music, cocktails, friendly staff and amazing view makes it feel very special. We also tried the tasting menu at the hotel restaurant on one of the first nights, and really enjoyed the experience. Each dish was full of flavour and pasted nicely with the wine. Another plus was the private thermal spa. You get 45 minutes to enjoy a sauna and steam all to yourself with some ice cold water. The actual rooms were pretty high tech with colour and heat fully customisable - a nice touch! The pillows were also incredible and deserve a shout out! Thank you so much to everyone who made our first holiday in years a truly unforgettable experience! :)

We will be back!! We loved the hotel and highly recommend to anyone looking to do touristy things in Barcelona. Modern, clean, classy and the rooftop is stunning. We even did a yoga class on Sunday morning that was perfect after a long flight. Location is very central, everything is walking distance. In addition the service is exceptional. Do not be afraid to ask for recommendations and have their team make reservations. We got to eat at some of the most amazing restaurants because of their help. Overall perfect experience, we will be back for sure.

From the moment we entered the front door we were made to feel welcome and that we had arrived. As we checked in we were offered a complimentary drink, which was quickly topped up. We were then directed to the rooftop bar while our rooms were prepared. This rooftop has legendary status, as reviewed on a number sites and for good reason. We quickly ordered another drink as we absorbed the view and atmosphere. And frankly the welcome we received and the care taken to ensure we enjoyed our stay never dropped. We had to leave the W hotel earlier in our stay due to a number of issues and i have to say I only regret not coming here in the first place. The W needs to go a long way to learn from what true 5* service looks like but if they visited here I am sure they would be embarrassed just how bad they are. Grand Hotel Central staff, thanks so much for looking after us so well. We cannot wait to visit you again.

Where do I begin? My experience with Grand Hotel Central Barcelona was nothing short of disappointing and frustrating. Attempting to make a reservation for the Rooftop Bar online ended in chaos as the system failed to work. Upon arriving in person at the hotel, my concern was brushed off by the gentleman at reception. He didn’t believe me until I showed him the issue, only to send me to speak with the Rooftop Bar staff. Though I was assured there that the reservation was all set, I was later told the next day that no reservation existed. The refusal to call the responsible employee and clear up the matter was the icing on the cake of this disastrous customer service experience. My travel costs to and from the hotel were also not covered. Overall, this was an experience I wouldn’t wish on anyone. Poor online reservation system, rude and unreliable staff, and an attitude that completely ignores the customer. I strongly advise against considering this hotel for any services. There are surely better alternatives in Barcelona that will meet your needs and expectations.

We loved our stay at the Grand Hotel Central in Barcelona! The hotel staff makes you feel very welcomed and they are so accommodating. The rooms are nice. I love how they turn down your bed at night, it was a nice touch. It's a great location and worth the price.

Superb hotel. Staff very very friendly and can't do enough for you. Exceptionally clean, great food!!. Also great location....do bring your walking shoes as Barcelona is best seen on foot

The staff make this place shine, with the concierges really understanding what hospitality is about. No need to polish up your Spanish, just don't expect the same in S. Sebastian, Logrono, etc.). The food and drinks at the restaurant are great and well-priced. The only thing I would change is a slightly larger TV and a way to cast from your phone/device. But considering how much there is to do outside your room (the best food I had in Spain is the restaurant at the end of the block, the one adjoining the market), that's almost a trivial concern.

Great location, service, and breakfast. The rooftop bar is a great way to start your evening. Watch the sunset as you enjoy a cocktail or glass of wine. Food was very good as well. Great place to stay in Barcelona

One if the best check-in experiences in a long time! Best roof top bar with life DJ set on weekend (sunday incl.) Super friendly and helpful employees. All new rooms with everything you wish to have for a relaxing evening and night after a day out in the heat of Barcelona. I specially appreciated the big bottle of good smelling body lotion, perfectly happy with my stay.

We had a lovely stay at the Grand Hotel Central. The location was fantastic and walking distance to everything we needed. The staff was wonderful, especially Victor who was kind and assisted us several times. The rooms were on the small side and a little dark. Otherwise, they were clean and well stocked with necessary amenities. You could hear noise from above and in the hallways.

From the moment we walked in we were greeted with outstanding customer service. We were offered champagne and our bags were taken to our room. The lobby is beautiful with a classic restoration of an older building, turned in to a luxurious hotel. The concierge desk is a wonderful classic amenity that this hotel offers. The team is extremely knowledgeable and helpful for anything that you need. The history of the building was kept with the build out of this hotel which is impeccable! The modern glass Otis elevator operates in the middle of the restored iron and marble staircase, which offer a scenic ride. Each elevator lobby offers a unique scene on each floor, that fits the theme of the hotel. The room has a simple to use smart door lock with an energy saving occupancy key card slot located upon entry to the room. The bathroom in the king suite room is setup perfectly. There is plenty of vanity lighting as well as storage space for your belongings. The room also comes standard with an umbrella which is perfect for the tropical climate of Barcelona! The smart shade feature of the room Offers total darkness, which is great after a long day of travel, don’t make the same mistake we did and oversleep because of the effectiveness of the black out shade! The rooftop sky bar also offers a wide variety of alcohol, tapas, and deserts, with an amazing view of Barcelona. Overall I highly recommend staying at The Grand Hotel, you will be greeted with a smile by every team member, and they will go out of their way to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. -July 28, 2023

We had a lovely stay at the Grand Hotel Central. The room was very clean and staff were friendly. They have a fantastic location for walking to many of the main attractions. The hotel was pretty quiet and it felt safe. The rooftop patio boasted great views, though our room faced an interior courtyard. My only comment would be they could have better bathroom amenities (I.e. vanity sets, soaps, face cloths. etc). But overall a great stay for good value.

Fantastic stay! From the moment you walk in, you are greeted by a very welcoming staff. The team is great and goes above and beyond for service. The location of the hotel is great, a short walk to everything you can need, right next to the Gothic Quarters, a couple minute walk to nearby metro stations, about ~15 -20 minute walk to the beach. My favorite part of the hotel is the rooftop pool! I would recommend the day prior to reserve the sun beds by the pool for the time you want because they do fill up! Overall, a fantastic stay and I will be back again!

The only down side to our stay was that it was only for two short night! The hotel was well appointed in a fantastic location. The bed was very comfortable, room cleaned/turned down in a timely manner ( with varied little treats often left including a bottle of cava to cheers a reason for our travel- so thoughtful!). It was a quick walk to essentially everything and felt very safe. The rooftop pool was the perfect midday recharge activity. Very friendly service, accommodating or early check in and helpful to arrange early transit the next morning, no language barriers, just overall outstanding. If I had to draw any complaints I guess i would say the pool chairs fill quick and we got booted for a reservation but what can ya do? And there seems to be pretty continual running water sounds coming from above our room that continued all night. It was more of an oddity than an irritant but it was there. Anyways! Stay there and enjoy it immensely! Salude!

Incredible stay at the hotel. Entire staff very friendly and helpful. They made it very special for my partners birthday. We would definitely return to this hotel and recommend it. Location is perfect for exploring the city. The rooms are lovely if a little on the small side. Pool area very nice but limited space.

Lovely stay at this super central hotel. All the staff are fantastic, including the wonderful Carlos, who ensures every guest feels special and nothing is a problem. The hotel and staff are absolutely fantastic. The location is brilliant also. The staff were exceptional and extremely welcoming and helpful. When we go back to Barcelona we wont even bother looking at other hotels we will book here again.

The staff here are very friendly, accommodating and professional. We stayed with our two sons this past August. It was a prefect location. The pool on top was a great place to relax and cool off after walking around Barcelona during the day. The breakfast was excellent. Our rooms were spacious and the beds were very comfortable. We would stay again.

Our so called "Classic" (lowest end) room was small but had everything we need. Quiet and very comfortable. Fantastic staff that addressed every possible need and made this English-only speaker totally comfortable. Fantastic hot breakfast where the item lists goes on and on including fresh bread (sometimes warm). I prefer when the warm items vary from day to day (especially since we stayed for 5 days) but the food they had was excellent. Again service was pleasant and perfect. The location cannot be best. 1 block from metro and everything in a gothic quarter.. My only picky point is the 1/2 glass enclosed tub showers are pain. I find tub showers to be dangerous. The rounded walls and the drop from tub level to floor level are both falling risks and there is no handle to grab on. Its worse with the water that inevitably spills when one only has a 1/2 glass enclosure. Also you get a note about their inability to do the turn down service. I wish I could just tell them to skip that. Turn down seems wasted effort already without wasting a piece of paper each day.

Everything was five star from the staff to rooms to the restaurants and bar. The roof top pool was great after a long days walking. The location let's you walk all over the oldest parts of Barcelona. Well worth the money.

We spent 2 nights here and we were treated royally by the staff. They are really polite, well trained, attentive and caring. The hotel is modern and very comfortable but the attention to detail from the staff made our stay exceptional. It was my wife’s birthday and she was greeted by a little birthday cake at breakfast and a bottle of bubbly in our room. Such a lovely touch. The sky bar is a must for a sundown cocktail or two too. Great service there too! The hotel is well located for all the central sights. We were able to walk to the hotel from Licué station in just 10 mins. The only drawback is that it’s on a busy road so the rooms can be noisy at times (although we were so tired from walking we barely noticed). Thanks to the team for making our stay so memorable. If you get the chance, stay here!

So we checked out because of the noise in the rooms. Whatever the time, the traffic is there, non stop. Aside from that, just a quite normal business style hotel, five star but quite institutional. Rooms are smallish, nothing incredible. Wouldn’t choose this location again seeing the amount of nicer options out there.

Beautiful hotel. Great staff. Room was ok. Big. Modern. Just not what I expected for 600 usd. It had one small window set up high. Little or no view. We booked a suite, usually a suite has a better location. It was quiet and great for sleeping. They tried to move us, but the hotel was sold out and my only option was a tiny room.

We didn't make plans and had to hitch a ride to Barcelona with a couple who made plans. We stayed at "Central". Our friends came to the sky bar and said our hotel was better than theirs. It is better. But, I can't get over the huge chasm in the middle of the upper floors though. Yo! Central! What's that all about? There is space for a dozen rooms there. Who is the general manager? I have ideas.

The service of this hotel went over and above what was expected. From check in (offering drinks, whisking luggage away to the room) to day to day service (printing tickets for events and leaving them on our bed) to food and beverage hospitality on the rooftop and having towels ready - they did it all. Absolutely INCREDIBLE.

Staff was incredible! My wife and I visited with our nine month old and they made the entire stay awesome. The reception, bellhops and concierge were super accommodating by providing baby friendly restaurant recommendations as well as helping bring in our stroller every time we returned. They definitely made the stay special and made our baby feel special. Thanks again!

Nice hotel with good location. Friendly staff. Great skybar. I like that there is nice tea in the room and they restock it every day. Rooms are a bit dark. Breakfast is nice but service could be better (sometimes it’s impossible to order coffee).

I stayed five nights and had an overall positive experience. There were some problems with the room and appliances, but the hotel staff were always willing to help and very open and genuine about their mistakes.

We had an amazing experience staying at this hotel. Service was fast and efficient. Breakfast has plenty of options and everything is tasty. Rooms are spacious, decoration on point. But the best part was to go for a swim during sunrise on the rooftop pool, then for a little beer while the sun keeps rising in the sky. The view of Barcelona is really nice too. I want to go back to this hotel as soon as possible. My stay was very relaxing overall and I recommend this place for everyone who has enough budget.

We have been going to the dinner party for New Year's eve of 2022. It has been a delightful experience. We started on the terrace with a glass listening to a wonderful singer and with a beautiful view over Barcelona. Then we went for dinner. An amazing dinner, creative, with new savours, full of detail attentions and of extremely good quality. The service was perfect, discrete but attentive. With excellent manners. I very warmly recommend to my fellow followers to go to this excellent place, this peaceful and quiet but colorful place.
