Strongly recommend not to stay in this hotel.. They deduct twice the booking fee and not return even after many days. They haven't advise the client about their double deduction and receptionist told me they will refund while checkout. During checkout, receptionist (different person) was arrogant and said that they will return to credit card. But not yet received till now and whenever i do follow up, they will close the phone. They will not allow to transfer to manager. One of the poor response i have ever seen in my life. Reach out to me if you have a details about this hotel

The check-in process takes 10-15 min and the staff continue doing paperwork even after the guest leaves instead of assisting the next guest in line. They took calls and spent 10 min on the phone with someone when I was finally next in line. The bathroom had mold. Room was over the discotheque and drunk crowds gathered right outside window until 6:30am. Hotel isn’t in the best neighborhood. USB ports in the room do not work so all of our devices were dead. Breakfast was the only bright spot in the stay. Luckily we were only there for one night so we bolted as fast as we could the next morning, never looking back. Please take my recommendation and don’t stay here, they don’t take care of the property.

Modern design throughout the hotel. Very clean. Great location, all the main attractions are max 25 mins walk but public transport is also nearby. Location can be a negative as it is very lively you will see many junkies and hear loud music and shouting all night. There was also construction on the ground floor. I would highly suggest asking for a higher floor as I was located on the first floor and it was a nightmare. Another issue was the cleaners would come even though we had put do not disturb on the door.

Cannot recommend this hotel enough. It is right next to a metro so it is easy to get around and there are lots of affordable restaurants and cafes nearby (personally would recommend Pizza Circus, Caleuche and Atenea. The service and room is amazing with everything you could possibly need. Our room even had a flat screen TV, a whole set of big toiletries and a sizeable bathroom - and we only stayed in the standard room! The staff are lovely and soke examples of this are the fact that Jorge at the front desk gave us a list of places nearby that offer PCR and antigen tests, and the cleaning ladies fixing our room everyday while we were exploring the city.

Have to disagree with the majority of reviews for this. Firstly location we found wasn’t great, the hotel is situated on top of the Apollo Theatre as well as near clubs/ bars, so large congregate right underneath the hotel. Over the weekend it was incredibly rowdy outside, our room looked right onto the street and noise carried right up to our room. We got up at 6am to go to the airport and there was still locals outside drinking and shouting. It’s also not the best neighbourhood, we didn’t feel safe walking round at night and didn’t see many other tourists so guessing there’s not many other hotels in this area. We thought this hotel looked in a good location being near main tourist spots when booked however it’s a bit too far out if you plan on walking everywhere, it took around 20-25 minutes to walk to La Rambla and over 30 to get to the beach so we leave Barcelona a little exhausted from all the walking. Also we booked a double room but found our bed was just two singles pushed together with separate bedding. If you’re a couple that actually likes to sleep next to each other then wouldn’t recommend this hotel, if we tried to sleep in the middle together one of us would fall through the middle of the beds - sort of takes away from trying to have a romantic break! Only real positive from this stay was how helpful and friendly the staff were, the hotel we were disappointed with though and having stayed in Melis hotels previously have to stay this isn’t up to their usual standards.

My husband and I spent a whole week at this hotel for a holiday and had a wonderful time. Hotel Barcelona Apolo is easily walking-distance to many interesting areas, restaurants, shopping, and the famous Las Ramblas but is not in the middle of all the action so it is a peaceful location to get rest after a day of exploring! The hotel itself is beautiful - modern and sleek but still very welcoming. The rooms were clean, bright, and with tasteful furniture and architecture. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always smiling and wishing you a good day, and receptive to anything you needed. It was really lovely to start each morning with their impressive buffet breakfast on their beautiful sunny outdoor patio. The breakfast is an added cost but it is truly well worth it in our opinion, the food was plenty, well made and delicious, I can honestly say it is one of the best buffet breakfasts that we have experienced and it was a great way to fuel up before a day of activities. The fresh omelet grill was amazing, and there were plenty of local options to try each day and options for people who have gluten-free or sugar-free needs. The gym is not located in the hotel but a nice 10 minute walk within a larger fitness complex that has everything you need for a good workout (but they require that you bring your own towel). We can wholeheartedly recommend Hotel Barcelona Apolo to anyone and would gladly stay there again!!

We stayed in a junior suite for a week and the hotel itself was great. No noise complaints, the room felt spacious and housekeeping came daily(looking at you Hilton). The people at reception were nice and the continental breakfast had a lot of options. The hotel itself doesn’t have a gym and requires requesting a pass to use the partner gym(about a 10 minute walk away). Make sure you bring a towel. The gym requires it and will charge you 1.25 euros to rent one. Aside from that, my only other complaint in that the area the hotel is in isn’t the greatest although it’s extremely close to las ramblas and right next to major metro stops so this wasn’t really an issue for us.

The Apolo hotel was absolutely perfect for our stay in Barcelona. Spacious room with a lovely bathroom&shower as well as a perfectly central location - less than a minutes walk down to Paral-lel metro station which can link you to anywhere in the city. The reception staff were very friendly and accommodating and even on days we were late to leave the room we returned to find the room all made up. Overall, incredibly clean, bright & everything you need from a hotel room. The windows do a great job at keeping out the noise from the bustling street below! Would definitely recommend to anyone and would return in the future.

My stay at this hotel was an absolute pleasure. Rooms are always clean, the staff is really nice. The location is just perfect - 10mins walk from the main street with restaurants, there are a lot of supermarkets nearby and the subway right next to the hotel (what was my surprise when there was no trains noise in my room). Btw, regarding the noise from outside - the windows made me enjoy the silence except the times some emergency car was driving by. The only thing I mentioned that would be great to revamp is the noise from the neighbors bathroom - it's pretty loud when someone is taking shower.

Only stayed for one night but was given an upgrade to a Superior double room with a balcony. Breakfast was delicious and there was a great variety. Had a bit of tapas on the day we arrived, it was slow coming and when it did, we asked for them to be heated up as they were cold. Rooms were lovely and the bed very comfortably. Would highly recommend

We stayed here as part of our tour through Spain. The hotel is under construction, but they had everything nicely set up for a temporary lobby, and there wasn't any construction noise. The rooms etc were nice, but the reason I am writing the review is the doorman (I didn't catch his name), but he was always so nice and helpful. He helped us catch cabs, and told us which trains to take etc. He was so very nice. A true asset to the hotel.

Great hotel. Good location with the bus and a metro stop right in front of it. Few food shops are located nearby. La Rambla is also very close. Rooms are very nice and clean, especially the bathroom. We stayed here for 7 nights, and it wasn't noisy, as some people said. Staff is good. The only problem we have had are key cards. We had to try a few times to unlock the door and it was really annoying.

We had a superb experience here. Stayed for two nights before our cruise and two nights after our cruise. The position is perfect as it is central. The room facing the main Rd can be noisy but the room is perfect, clean and modern. Staff are helpful and friendly. The breakfast is excellent. We will definitely be back.

Spent 3 nights in this hotel, no complaints whatsoever, great central location, bus and metro right on your door step and a short walk of under 10 minutes to some great tourist sites. If booking breakfast do this on your first night for the duration of your stay as it works out cheaper, european buffet breakfast is great, with delicious pastries, cold meats, fresh juices etc, if you like a good English fry up, not so good, bacon, beans and sausage not up to par. Loads of places to eat, McDonald's 5 minutes up the road. The staff were pleasant and helpful, the room size is perfect, spotless and really well cleaned, crisp high cotton count sheets and great pillows. Loved the large headed showers. 10 out of 10, perfect location and a great hotel.

Lovely hotel in the perfect location Staff are super friendly and helpful. Hotel, and rooms are spotless. Some reviews comment on the noise outside (this is a busy city road). We were offered a choice of room, street side or quiet rear. We opted for street side, which, with windows open is noisy, however, the windows keep the noise out very well. For us, the hustle and bustle is all part of a city break. We had a great time here and would definitely go back to this hotel when next in Barcelona. Thank you everyone at Hotel Barcelona Apolo

Location is great, a quick walk to gothic quarters and walkable to anywhere from the hotel. Here is why a 2 star - meanwhile the lobby looks nice and smells great, the room was okay. The bed was comfortable and clean. The room temperature control is not great, it’s non existent. I like it cold for sleeping and no matter how much you try to control the temperature, it does not work. We asked the receptionist to have someone look at it, they did send someone but he said it’s working fine and that was that. Middle of the night, it gets hot in the room. Plus the air smelled like smoke. There might be some rooms in the hotel for smokers, which is unfortunate for other non-smokers. We had a room facing the window and on the 4th floor, the noise level was not bad but once you hear an ambulance go by, which happens frequently, you can really hear that clearly. You really can’t hear people or other traffic. If you want a comfortable bed for sleep and does not care about anything mentioned above, then it’s not a bad hotel. If you care about quality, then I would not pick this hotel.

The reception staff of the hotel went above and beyond to take the trouble to help my mom and I recently when we stayed for a city break . Two staff members in particular : Ryan and Jorge took the time and patience to help advice us on local restaurants to try , especially for paella even phoning for reservations for us both j . We were certainly not disappointed with the recommendations . We even had assistance contacting our air line to chase up airport collection times . Nothing was too much trouble . Breakfasts certainly worth the fees , so much variety to choose from . Would definitely recommend again . Thank you once again

The person working the front desk last night was so helpful and thoughtful. Great way to start our stay. Just a heads up in the WINTER the hotel turns of AC and you can only crack the window. I like it cold cold. Was a little Warm for me. But the room was lovely clean and within walking distance to everything you could need.

Absolutely amazing, helpful, friendly staff. Room was cleaned every day. Thank you for the little Christmas gift, that made my stay even more special. Very good location. I will definitely stay here again on my next visit. I opted for inclusive breakfast....it was delicious. Such a huge choice and catered for gluten free too

Lovely, friendly hotel, from the hard working cleaners, waiters, waitresses and receptionists and even the door men all have a smile that makes the hotel what it is (excellent). Not to far from the la rambles and shopping center with lovely restaurants around it

Remember to use Hᴏᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking any resort. They compare hundreds of booking web sites and typically will have rates a lot cheaper compared to others! Thank me later on! This resort is one of my favorites in the area. I have been coming here for a long time. If you stay for a few days you for sure will love it I'm sure! Lovely, friendly hotel, from the hard working cleaners, waiters, waitresses and receptionists and even the door men all have a smile that makes the hotel what it is (excellent). Not to far from the la rambles and shopping center with lovely restaurants around it

The rooms were very large and very clean. Breakfast, a bit chaotic and staff not too helpful. Swimming pool- you had to book and when you went there, either doors were closed and/or no staff- challenging times! Hotel Location: Perfect! Lots of cafes and restaurants nearby and La Rambla only 3 blocks away. Beach and harbour 5-6 blocks away Shopping : 2-3 blocks away

A very comfortable and clean hotel in a good location. It is located on top of a subway stop. I can hear the subway trains in our room on the first floor, but the sound isn’t loud. They offer a very big breakfast buffet with fast clean up and food replenishment. Definitely recommend and we will probably book a room for our cruise next year (this hotel is very close to the cruise port.)

Really a great hotel in a good location. Everything, really everything, has a uniform standard and you don't have to expect any surprises. The rooms are extremely clean and, like the entire hotel, very high quality and modernly furnished. The breakfast is not a highlight of the rooms, but the food on offer is of high quality and very extensive in its variety. In addition, the staff is extremely hospitable and attentive. Really a great complete package in a location that is perfect for visiting the incredible city of Barcelona.
