So where do I begin, the location is great. Lovely views of the port. And a partial view of the city. But unfortunately that's where the good news ends. The room looks amazing at first glance but there are a lot of problems. Cracked tiles stained roof carpets and walls, the most uncomfortable bed I have slept in. No usb sockets. Smell drains leaking mini bar fridge. Some plug sockets not working at all. Dated and scuffed furniture. Not what you would expect for a five star hotel and definitely not at the price of around €300 per night. Without breakfast. ( Which is €30 per person for a buffet style breakfast). A solid 3 star hotel if the prices where more in line with that type of rating.

Expected a 5 start experience, got cold showers and cockroaches. The pool area is falling apart. 3/4 days were without warm water in the hotel. Many parts of the hotel is in dire need of maintenance. The staff are friendly and the view exceptional - but all in all NOT worth the hefty price!

The hotel is overall decent. Like other folks have said, the room needs some updating and a bit of cleaning. There were stains all over the carpet and the couch, the shower has a bunch of limestone on it, and the wallpaper is peeling off in a couple places. Overall, the room just felt blah. The lobby is nice and the check in process was great. The bar prices are insane. We ordered pizza in and wanted to get a drink at the bar, so we were just sitting in the lobby lounge (not even the restaurant) waiting for our drink and were told we couldn’t have the pizza. Okay lol? So we just took our drink up to our room and ate there. The location was good for us, a little outside of town so it’s a walk to get anywhere, if that’s what you’re into. Our stay was nice for this time, but I don’t think we’d stay here again.

Overall, this hotel is atrocious. Granted the location view is very nice, but everything else is horrible. Upon entering, the smell kicks you in the face. They used a great deal of perfumes to mask the smell of mold and mildew. Initially, the front desk personnel were nice but once we returned to complain about the mold, water damage, and smell in our room, they began to laugh and treat us unkindly. I booked 2 rooms for 3 days. Both rooms were horrible. Requested a new rooms. The second room was just as bad but also had some previous guests hair remains on the table and on the bed. The mass amount of perfumes caused two people in my party major migraines. We requested to cancel the room due to their poor conditions. The management refused to return the full refund. It was impossible to stay in the hotel for any length of time. Honestly, avoid this hotel at all cost!!! Any other good reviews you might read are completely false.

We had a company event at Hotel Miramar Barcelona recently. It was an incredible experience! The entire staff including Olga & Mireia were amazing! The hotel & surrounding property are breathtaking. Highly recommend!

Beautiful Spot. The hotel is situated on a hill overlooking the harbour. Very quiet area. Rooms and service at the Miramar were excellent. Reception staff were incredibly helpful with advice, booking trips etc. There is also parking available on site and free of charge. I highly recommend this establishment.

Although the rooms seem a little older and a little worn, the service, location, amenities, balcony, and incredible views make up for it. The spa is truly amazing. Great place to relax and take in the beauty of Barcelona.

Location is exceptionally beautiful. You can’t find a better location to be inside Barcelona and yet in the middle of the beautiful mountains and views. This place is magnificent and surprisingly ranked low on bookings! The lower than expected rating is true and can be contributed to cheap management or owner! Instead of aiming for a Ritz Carlton level of service the management or owner are going for a 3 stars Holiday in, which is not to say bad but it’s a 3 or 4 stars and not inline with the magnificent building and price of a 5+hotel. Uncomfortable beds. Cheap breakfast (the worst of any 5 stars, again, cheap attempts to save money), customer service is not consistent, wonderful views, amazing gardens,

Beautiful hotel with friendly staff, with a magnificient view on the whole town. Location is still quite near to the good place with a taxi. Outside pool is great, gym could use a bit of an upgrade to be honest. Overall, I would definitely recommend, the prices are ok as well.

The rooms is quite old and you understand it in first seconds. Service is good and quick. Locations is also nice, perfect view, but it's near the port, so you'll smell the diesel all the time.

The Miramar Hotel is quite deceiving. Looks lovely from the outside and the Lobby but it has been neglected. Quite run down, mould in bathrooms, holes in walls, dirty carpets in the bedrooms. The pool area is quite disgusting, the pool itself around the edges is mouldy, worms are in the pool and will be on your skin once you come out of the pool. These seem to be from the wood around the edges of the pool. The pool deck is rocky and loose and overall not what you would expect from a 5 star. Also some staff in the hotel are quite rude, not very accommodating and would argue back if you asked for something to be brought to your room. I really would think twice before staying in this hotel, I will not be back. There are much better hotels within the centre on Barcelona.

The worst 5 star hotel I have ever been: Very nice view, the people at reception are super friendly and we received cava for our special event. Unfortunately, it also stops here with positive reviews: We booked this hotel for our destination wedding and when we mentioned that we are not satisfied with the room because for example the carpet is with big burn marks and on the terrace the paint comes off, the manager said "this hotel is 12 years old and they are sorry". The money is not worth it for this 5 star hotel and we would not recommend it. Everything is in need of renovation! Ps: If you want to use the beds next to the pool the minimum consumption is 50€ per person.

Got wrong room. No balcony. Ordered food, they forgot it. Everyone had finished their food when I could get mine. Noisy bar at night. Noisy air condition, sounds like a lawnmower. Parts of the shower falling off. Closet and toilet door touches floor, so you have to force them open. Flickering ligths. Very expensive, expected MUCH more. Stay away.

We had drinks/lunch on the terrace. They have a limited tapas menu. The terrace is really nice with a great view. Unfortunately service was really bad. We ordered 2 drinks and 3 tapas. Even though it was busy (weekend) we didn’t expect to have to wait almost an hour for the food (drinks didn’t arrive at that point). One of the tapas was also missing so didn’t receive the right order. Drinks arrived when our food was finished (we just asked for a cocktail and a coffee so nothing difficult), and the drinks were both wrong so had to be sent back. So overall a lot of chaos. The server was friendly and she was really apologetic and clearly overwhelmed as many people were leaving because of the waiting time. As much as we like the terrace (been here several times now) we won’t we back.

I spent Christmas Eve and Christmas Day here since it had a spa and they were doing special meal services in the restaurant on those days. The staff were all really friendly and helpful. The views of the city and sea were beautiful. But overall everything was extremely overpriced. For a 5-star hotel, I’m surprised at how dated and worn the furnishings in the room and other areas are. The mattress wasn’t very comfortable. The spa treatments were nice but the very overpriced. The jacuzzi tub area, something I was looking forward to, was horrible. Jacuzzi only big enough for 2 people and the wooden deck around it was broken and actually felt like the wood was going to break with every step I took. The meal services were nice but nothing spectacular for the price. The 30 euro buffet breakfast was disappointing. Overall, I did enjoy my stay but felt it was only worth half of what I paid.

An exceptional hotel. An unforgettable experience in this hotel, whether it is on the service: the hotel miramar and its employees are exceptional hosts, but also on the room in general. Indeed, to have such a beautiful room at a good price is rare: a large bed, a bright room, pleasant, not to mention the magnificent contemporary decoration. I would also like to mention the restaurant and the lobby which serve delicious meals. It's a pleasure to have had such a good stay. I highly recommend this hotel, if you want to relax by the sublime pool, in the spa or even to admire the view over the whole of Barcelona. I will come back for sure!

The hotel is well located, with a nice view, but the view is not everything. It looks like the hotel is getting old. Half of the sockets don't work in our room, the sheets have stains and even holes. For a 5 star it's amazing 😢. And then the beds "not confortable at all" I did not have a great night at all Not to mention 80% of TV channels do not work Luckily the staff is friendly.

Nowhere near a 5 star hotel experience. The place is run down, staff is junior (although very friendly) and not well trained. Food was average to say the least. Not worth 300 EUR per night. Stay at the ABAC instead, that is a much better option.

Overall, nice experience but hotel do need a refresh as some elements are no longer up to date. For example, the hammam was not working during my stay (April 2023) and internal handler for the door was missing... which didn't allow to close properly the door (may explain why it wasn't working). On the room itself, mattress is ready to retire and some furniture are getting old and it shows. Overall, good experience, nice architecture and great location even if a bit off the classical public transportation. Continental breakfast was also nice and provided everything for any diet. Staff was friendly and helpful.

We spent 3 nights here before a cruise. The hotel is lovely! The setting above the city with gardens all around is wonderful. The rooms are large and well appointed. Staff is attentive and kind. We did not eat in the restaurant, but the room service was quick and the food excellent. The indoor pool was sparkling clean and fun to swim in! Thank you for a lovely stay — we will be back!

Not suitable for families, shady and provocative receptionists, rooms are old and moldy, fridge is from the 1920s, no room service will pick up un the evening. Do yourself a favor and avoid it, Barcelona has so much more to offer!

Great location. Hotel is great but is showing its age. Stains in the room and stuff has plenty of wear. If they would keep the property up to date and put some effort in maintenance, this property would be 5+ stars.

One of the best hotels I stayed in Barcelona, a superb room, very nice restaurant, good service. I truly recommend it.

We had a family suite made up by two adjacent rooms. The view was nice but the suite quite corporate and uninteresting. We arrived at 2.45pm and were told the room would be ready at 4pm due to the previous customer leaving later than expected. We were invited to wait at the bar. At 4pm the room wasn’t ready and we were told to wait for another 15 minutes. When pressed the staff said the previous customer had left at 1.30pm - in my opinion that’s enough time to get a room ready by 3pm. We have three young kids (which they obviously knew about) and the wait was very tiring. I would have been disappointed if travelling on my own, with three toddlers it was an utterly dissatisfactory experience. A five star hotel should be able to provide an adequate service on top of a half decent room and train their staff better.

    - Huge rooms which is rare in Europe - Professional team staff (especially the receptionists) - A good hotel to rest and stay away from the crowded center - The restaurant has good variety of dishes - The hotel furnitures are very old with a not good lighting rooms (but good sea view though - poor wifi Thanks Miramar team 🙏🏼

We stayed 3 nights. Family friendly hotel but a little noisy due to kids and doors being slammed throughout the night. Rooms are a great size but could really use some updates. Mold in shower. Extremely uncomfortable bed unfortunately. I still gave it 4⭐️ because we enjoyed our stay due to excellent service and the breakfast is pretty good. Indoor Pool area is clean. Overall we enjoyed our stay thank you

Great location and views. I have to agree with previous comments about the rooms, at first glance they are fine and spacious with nice bath and terrace but at closer look, shower full of lime scale and no hot water, scratches on doors, wardrobe broken, tiles need replacing, windows not clean. It really needs some repair and a deep clean.

A nice hotel with fantastic views and a lovely location. Staff were friendly and helpful, overcame a room issue we had on arrival promptly. At night no cold water running, bath/shower was boiling as only hot water came out of all taps. This wasn't an issue in the morning. Hotel is slightly dated, but is well kept and clean.

The property is just amazing! I loved the views of the city and the ocean from the hotel! Perfect service, the bartender rocks! He made me some really nice cocktails. The staff was really polite and extremely helpful since the time I stepped inside the hotel. My room came with a balcony and it was super clean. I will definitely stay at this hotel again on my next visit to barcelona.

Make sure to use Hᴏᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking a stay. This site will compare countless hotel sites and usually will have rooms much cheaper compared to others! You're welcome :)! This resort is one of the highest rated in this area. I have been staying here for a long time. If you choose this place you for sure won't be disappointed. Hosted an event here, my guests were so impressed by the beautiful patio area filled with orange trees. The canapés & drinks and wonderful views 🤩. Also great communication before and after the booking process.

A great hotel situated with wonderful views over Barcelona to the sea. An historic building with great facilities. Minor negative is that service is slow at times. Major negative is the condition of the bedroom which had not been properly cleaned from the previous occupant.

I have no other hotel to compare it to in Barcelona, but overall hotels in Barcelona don’t seem attractive in my opinion. Hotel Miramar has beautiful view from every side of the hotel. They cleaned our room every day and their service was awesome when we needed something. The pool and other spa facilities were lovely. It’s a little away from all the center of Barcelona but we loved being closer to the castle and being closer to the more local tapas rather than all the center tourism.

This hotel is in a really nice location with a great view and great place to stay close to Barcelona without the inner city trouble. Unfortunately, the hotel itself has seen better days. For a class and pricing like this , it is an a bad condition. The staff is great and friendly, but it seems as if the rooms and the hotel are slowly starting to fall apart due to bad maintenance. Nothing really severe but a lot of minor things that you would not want in a classy hotel like that. Broken windows, not closing bathroom doors and so on.

Nice hotel and the views were stunning. The bar menu was crazily overpriced, I completely understand this is a high-end establishment, but this was to a whole new level. I highly recommend checking out their menu before booking. The check-in was a bit of a hassle, these things happen, but the receptionist was quite rude while we sorted things out. We will absolutely be returning to Barcelona, but not to Hotel Miramar.

Pure excellence with 5star hotel services. Efficient staff, amazing food and location/views are breathtaking! Highly recommended on any occasion. Many thanks to Jonathan at front desk for attention and immediate assistance for any matter. I am big fan of Miramar!

We booked for a week and ended up spending 3 weeks - the staff, despite being a difficult time for the industry were very supportive and welcoming. The atmosphere in the hotel is very homely and friendly. The food is great, very good food ranging from sushi to wagyu to pastas etc, all excellent

  • 2/5 MichelleM 2 years ago on Google
Let’s start with the good points: staff is really friendly and nice, and the best they have free parking for hotel guests which is quite rare in barcelona. The hotel is on a hill and for example to get to el born it takes 40 min by foot. Now the big but - hotel was modernized a time ago and this is reflected in the rooms on the first look it seems wow but then when you look closer you see a lot of broken things - like bed , wall, shower pretty dirty etc… and if you book please be aware that you take a room to the pool side. The back side is directed to the police shooting camp, so you won’t get much rest. I was expecting more from a 5 start hotel…… and for what you get it was way to expensive, but in general the hotel could have big potential when they put some modernization work in it. Therefore sorry .. just 2 stars from us

My wife and I were visiting Spain for the first time. We found this hotel to exceed our expectations in both quality as well as atmosphere. Lovely, calm place to stay in Barcelona. Away from the hustle of the crowded city. Great for a couple of getaway

There is no better place to stay while in Barcelona. The rooms are absolutely gorgeous and the Terraceview that I had of the city and ocean was stunning. The staff is extremely friendly, rooms are quiet and room service was excellent. The only thing bad about this place is having to leave.
