While this account is a pseudo account for safety reasons, our stay there was entirely real, unfortunately. We booked this hostel because it had "great reviews" and I can honestly say I would rather sleep in the airport than ever have to stay here again. Our booking was for 3 nights and during that time we had nothing but issues. Both my friend and I, I was in the females only and he was in a mixed, had horrible experiences. Firstly, the two guys that were on the desk when we checked in really need an attitude adjustment. Speaking to your guests in a rude tone really isn’t necessary when asking questions for clarification that weren’t on the website or anywhere when booking. Regardless of what the questions were, we always got attitude. When housekeeping issues such as no toilet paper, soap for hand-washing, or AC issues were communicated they would address 1/3, with a side of unpleasantness. Or, they would just walk away while you are in the middle of speaking. Both of our rooms had guests come and go during our stay, it was clear that "housekeeping" did not clean the washrooms in-between people and have not been cleaned once since we have been here. There was so much dirt and bugs within the showers that both of us had to shower with flip-flops on to avoid dirt and patches of hair. With such a high turnover rate, you'd think they would be cleaning showers and common areas as much as possible, no? In my bed, there was dirt and footprints all on the walls, top of the bed, and just dirt in general that was easily wiped away with the baby wipes I had to go and buy for cleaning. We paid for a hostel stay that included air conditioning, but both of our rooms were super hot almost the entire time. When trying to adjust the air, it told us on the thermostat that we could not as it was on a control and that the filter needed cleaning. They kept saying it was because our windows were open, but even when closed it did not work and when they finally turned it on, it miraculously worked the last night. The common room on the second floor has a lot of easily removable stains on the cushions as well. The common bathrooms were filthy and disgusting, but people still had relations in there with a lot of hooking up. The -1 level had food all over the place because nobody cleaned after individuals ate. At one point, the elevator smelled like someone peed in it and it was quite a while before it was even addressed. The place is very dirty and I did not feel comfortable with touching anything without wiping. If I could give this place negative stars, I would. There really is no excuse or reason for this type of experience.

This is by far the best hostel I have been to. The rooms have a very modern and clean design. The facilities such as the common room and kitchen was equally as hip and modern. Even though it was the low season they still managed to host a lot of events such as a dj night and movie nights. Service was very polite as well. Couldn't really have asked for anything more.

It’s clean and quiet, meet my basic request for sure. Bed and pillow is what I like, bed is middle soft, pillow not high, over my expectation. Not used to it’s ecosystem for light and water yet. You need to press button to keep the water on when take shower. You need to put deposit for borrow a hairdryer and for the door key. Good thing is they have nice public area in floor 2 which is very comfortable for you to lie down and rest, most daytime is quiet. Rooftop is small and mainly for smokers, prefer not to go there. Generally speaking, quite a nice and welcome place to stay for short days. BTW, fantastic location just 5 minutes to the beach.

Great if you are staying for business/work or with a group of friends. If you are a solo traveller(English speaking) you may struggle to find friends(for my experience) and no drinking. Very clean Staff are great- don’t hesitate to ask staff anything Safe&secure

this is the first hostel in my life when it looks EXACTLY the same as on photos. Really nice place, I spent here 2 weeks. They also have only female dorm, which might be useful for a female solo-travelers. There is equipped kitchen with common fridges and stuff, you can cook there. Also, one floor has big common space and coworking office if you need to work. I recommend you to book in advance, it will be cheaper then booking “for tomorrow” (picture is the view from rooftop terrace)

Everything was very well organized in the hostel. Reception, kitchen (we didn't use the breakfast, we provided our own), elevator, rooms, roof-top area. We really liked the location in which the hostel is located - a relatively quiet place outside the main centre, but easily and quickly accessible by public transport or even on foot (for active individuals). We ate well in the area around the accommodation and always got great coffee. The nearby beach offers great opportunities for relaxation or sports.

No towels (you can buy it for €5-6). To use lockers in the room you need to bring your own lock (or buy it). Sinks are in the same room as the beds (imagine someone arrived at night and tries to clean the teeth and wash the hands 😥). All that was communicated before arrival though, but after non refundable payment. Also the shower was leaking, there was always water on the floor outside of the shower and it was clearly not a recently appeared problem. The room itself was clean, good looking and the common areas are good as well. There is a kitchen, common recreation area and access to the rooftop. All in all - not a very convenient hostel, I’d suggest to consider alternatives.

Great place for a short stay at good prices. We were 4 people and got our own dorm. Everything was clean and functioning. The location was great (really close to the Beach and well connected to the center). The staff was also really nice!

Great place to stay in Barcelona. Very close to the beach and to the old city. Rooms are clean and nice. The one that we stayed had industrial climate. Roof top was open and we could chill there. If needed there is a storage where you can leave your luggage. Staff is friendly and helpful. For sure we will come back...

Stayed for 4 nights. Two at a shared room and two at a private one. Wifi is very good, stuff friendly. It is a cool place, felt safe and clean. Breakfast is only 7€.

This hostel is probably ok for 2 nights maximum. The hostel was a revolving door of travellers and after staying at some smaller hostels and experiencing a more personal feel, I personally did not enjoy staying here as much as the other hostels. Also curtains for the individual bunk area would assist with privacy as a sensor light comes on when someone enters the room, lighting up the whole room and disturbing anyone sleeping. The bathroom was not terribly clean, although staff are very helpful and quick to help, Unclogging the drain. Having the shower area within the actual dorm also has its pros and cons, mostly a flooded area with toilet in same space

Super friendly and supportive staff! They solved every request I had. Rooms and common spaces are well designed, with attention to detail. Of course there are things to improve like the kitchen which lacked of cutlery, glasses and space to cook.

Love this hostel. It’s clean. Affordable. Close to the sea! Close to almost everything (including the metro) Our room is spacious and has its own toilet and shower. I love being at the second floor if you want to have a place for making calls and do some computer work or just admire the view. Breakfast is ok @ 7€ something.

Really happy with this place. Keep staying more days. Really friendly staff. Respectful floor manager. Amazing facility with cool artistic construction and extremely practical designs. Everything from shelves, chairs and key cards or signs and rules on the wall. I absolutely love this place. The only constructive feedback I’d give is that their “check in” or basically any work in their booking system is really slow. If it’s the staff that doesn’t know it very well or they it’s complicate, I don’t know. But I’m surprised how long it takes for each guest to get help even when the whole booking is completed online and we only need to pay. Normally I’d lower a star for something like that but I’ve been so happy here I cannot see waiting a little longer as an issue at all. Well done Unite Hostel Barcelona. I highly recommend this place.

Had a really good stay here, helpful staff and plenty of activity going on inside the hostel. My room was gratefully very quiet with good showers. There's plenty of Donkey Republic bikes nearby, so you can hop on and get into town within 10/15 minutes easily. The beach is only a 10min walk away too. Really nice cafes just down the road as well for coffee and lunch. The restaurant in the building also serves a delicious tapas menu.

This is one if the best hostels I’ve been to. There isn’t anything negative i have to say about them. The staff is great, the place is clean, the rooms are nice, the views are great, it’s spacious. It has a laundry room. It has a rooftop area! The common are is so spacious! They have movie nights. It’s lovely. If i didn’t want to leave the hostel for a day i would not be bored. I highly recommend this place.

Me and my friend stayed here for 3 nights. That was not my first experience. I stayed at difference hostels and countries in my travel trips. But here it was disappointing. 😢 The shower room looks dirty( A lot of shampoos and old soap on the floor. I washed my hair in cold water, because I didn’t know how to change to warm water before I asked girl on the reception. I also bought a locker for my thing for 6€ (a little bit expensive). On the last night an electricity didn’t work at all (only our room). So in the morning, when we should check out, I had uncharged phone, watches and Power bank. And I have a flight in the evening. Then we asked girl on the reception to do something with this, but she told that we need to wait around 9am for a man to check and fix the light and electricity in our room. We also wanted to left our phones on the reception when we were packing our things before leaving the hostel. But that also was impossible. The only option was to put on 0 floor or on the 2nd floor and sit waiting before I charge my phone a little bit. At 9am the electricity appeared. Some facts like a dirty shower and no electricity during the last night impact on my staying there.🫠

Modern, clean and easy-going hostel. Every room had their own shower and toilet and two sinks. Rooms where not too big and not too cramped. Good price- quality ratio. I would sleep here again.

If you have the choice, avoid this place at all costs! What happened to me is unacceptable! 1st reason: the rooms, although spacious, are only equipped with a shower for 8 beds. No need to look for additional showers elsewhere, there are none. 2. The robbery from the Hotel of a bottle of wine (rosé) and a beer that I had put in the refrigerator. Even if the consumption of alcohol is prohibited in the hotel, they do not have the right to confiscate the personal belongings of the client, in addition without even warning me and without my permission, it is illegal! They are two different things, consumption and storage (without consumption). Imagine you buy beers, store them in the fridge to consume elsewhere, and your items have disappeared (?) When I confronted the staff with the problem, they referred me to the rules of the establishment, and above all they did not give back the drinks in question! I had to deal with a zealous Manager, who told me to go out if I wanted to claim and to, I quote: "listen to her". I reminded her 1. that I still had a paid night in the hotel 2. that I AM the customer and that it is with our money that they offer us this mediocre service. 3 . That I DON'T HAVE TO LISTEN TO HER, BECAUSE I DON'T WORK FOR HER! If the hotel has a problem with my review, I'm ready to sue you! Readers, you are warned.

I recently stayed at Unite Hostel in Barcelona for a few days and I was very pleased with the experience. The location was highly convenient and the staff's response to any complaints I had was prompt and satisfactory. The room was clean and comfortable, however the cleaning service could have been improved. All in all, it was an enjoyable stay and I would definitely recommend Unite Hostel.

I recently stayed at Unite Hostel in Barcelona and I am very pleased with my experience. The location was outstanding only 10 min walk to the beach, the room was clean and comfortable. There is a locker beside your bed where u can lock your things (bring your own lock) I would highly recommend this hostel!

Hostel is good and decent, but the staff isn’t really courteous, all along the trip, I found extra decent staff, except for this place where the front desk staff was really rude. Not helpful, doesn’t understand English and doesn’t help make the place look good. It is well maintained, but when you have rude staff you loose the fun of staying in a place. If you are looking to book, try some other place

I lived in the hostel for more than a month and in general I can give an objective assessment. The first impression was great, everything suited me, especially in comparison with the hostels in which I had been before. Of the minuses, I could note a small amount of dishes in the kitchen. Then I began to notice a certain hypocrisy. I don't understand the alcohol policy. At the entrance it is written that the hostel is without alcohol, and if it is available, the security seizes it rather harshly, takes it from the refrigerators, which is closed, which they do not drink, but at the same time they hold parties with alcohol. You decide. One star is more associated with the next event. For about a month, until my departure, a suspicious person lived in the hostel, looking like a homeless man, who constantly walks around drunk and stoned. With his presence, he disturbed not only me, but also other visitors. I personally heard their indignation. One girl turned to the reception, as he bothered her. She said that he went to her room, that he allegedly does not live here, since he does not have a card. I myself constantly saw how he slept at night either on the second floor or in the dining room. My sister came to me and she was settled in a room where this homeless man was. Perhaps he is settled in rooms when there is free space. The bottom line is that when she came into the room, he was sleeping on her bed. She turned to the front desk. They didn’t really believe her, but when they got up and made sure, they initially simply shifted the homeless man to another bed, and they simply told her to lie down! On a dirty bed! For which money is paid! She refused, of course, then they brought her clean bed linen and supposedly made it herself, this is not our job!?!?! As a result, she did not spend the night in the room. The receptionist said that they would cancel the reservation and refund the money, but this never happened. I would like to note that the hostel workers and security do not react to this homeless person in any way, they communicate with him in a friendly way. Guests ask about him, and even if they come, they see that it is him, greet him, smile and just leave! How it works? This character extremely spoils the image of this hostel, which was not bad before.

I just stayed at Unite Hostel in Barcelona and it was great! I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay. The location is great and the room was comfortable. The events they organize are also really good. 🤩🤗😊

The rooms were clean and comfy. The front desk service was questionable and in any circumstances dont book bikes from the hotel, initially the deposit should have been refunded 5 to 8 days after, it’s been 2 weeks and nothing.

This is my first hostel experience, and I must admit I was skeptical, but I was pleasantly surprised! 🎉 The hostel is in an excellent location. It's a bit away from the city center in a peaceful area, but everything is easily accessible. The beach is a 5 min walk away. The bus station is literally in front of the hostel and the metro is just a few minutes walk. There are stores nearby, including one right in front of the hostel that's open 24 hours. The neighborhood is safe. The beds are comfortable and spacious, and the room and bathroom are clean. If someone complains in reviews about a dirty bathroom, it's probably because of roommates, but you know you are sharing a space with 8 people. Here they clean the whole room and the bathroom every day! I had a great time and met wonderful people. The staff is friendly and helpful, and I would like to highlight Joel, Carolina, David and Felipe, who are always there for any questions and so professional and friendly. Also, two guys working here could learn something from them instead of being rude. If I had to mention something negative, it might be the price of towels, but you can bring your own :) I will definitely come back here with pleasure! I miss you, Unite!

Good overall, however rude staff, when asked to be in the same room they said there was no space, then after a few minutes they said we had to pay more but ended up not putting my friends and I in the same room, even though we had written in the comments when booking that we all wanted to be in the same room and called prior! Staff is not attentive and does not read comments on booking.

This place was a great place to stay for a solo female traveler. It’s well located — 7mins from the metro, multiple useful bus stops nearby, 10mins from the beach, and a supermarket next door. It’s reasonably priced and well-kept. Shared rooms are bunk room style with private toilets and showers (unless you are booking a private room for a group or family, then it is arranged differently). Rooms have storage for belongings (bring your own lock and it fits carry on luggage sizes well). I enjoyed my stay here!

Spent 2 nights in that place, the price is cheap and that's why i went in there. The employees are doing a well job, smiling, taking their time to explain anything, and very efficient. The rooms are just what you need, no more no less, it was clean, the beds are comfortable, and the people overall were chill, very glad to have spent 2 days and nights there, i recommend that place for sure, close to the beach and not that far from some places such as the Sagrada Familia.

Rooms were good, friendly people at reception with good advice and helpful to travellers. It’s a decent area around the hostel and the ambience inside is quite nice. The common room looks great, could not find the board games collection inside but it’s there if you look around. Would stay here again

Best place and location. 5 minutes to beaches 5 min to the metro. Quiet, safe and silent area Bunch of supermarkets and dinners exist. The hostel staff were kind and helpful. There are lockers if you want to store your luggage after checkout for 6 hours 3.5€ 12 hours 4€ 24 hours 5€. The rooms were clean and had bright big windows with thick black curtains. there were hand soap and toilet tissue. No curtains for the beds. Safe stay with entering elevator with card

Very clean rooms and nice shared spaces. Lockers are big enough to fit 2 hiking backpacks but you need a padlock or buy one for 5€. You need to walk a bit to get downtown but it's close to the beach and clubs.

I love this hostel in Barcelona! Great vibe and really modern design and everything was super clean! Great price!! I stayed in a room for 8 persons and we had a private toilet and private shower in the room with a door to close. The people who worked there were really nice! You have a great kitchen to prepare your food and eat, a nice terrace to use and a really really great comfortable common area to chill and work. Was my favorite - I could stay there all day!! Also a extra office working room with tables and to close, if you have a call. They also free organize workshops like meditation, dance, yoga etc. You can walk to the beach 5-10 min. and go by bus or metro to the center also really fast. It’s not allowed to drink in the hostel and not a party hostel which I personally loved!! But sometimes (can’t remember the days) they organize a Speed friend dating to meet the other people in the hostel and you get a free beer. Great people stayed in this hostel and I was so happy to meet such nice people!!

  • 4/5 Frederike S. 4 months ago on Google
Clean hostel with kind staff. Location isn’t very close to the city, but it feels safe and the calmer (nicer) beach is close! I don’t recommend it for solo travellers that want to also meet people, my roommates didn’t say a word and the common spaces are a used for scrolling or reading, not a lot of travel friends being made.

The United Hostel Barcelona...is a great place for a convenient stay in Barcelona. Close to everything. It is located in a very nice neighborhood and good environment. The Hostel itself is nice, practical, clean and the staff is very good. The rooms are clean, safe and the bed is very comfortable. Offer you off course a personal security box for you( bring your lock). And the commons areas are enjoyable. The only thing ( negative one) is that for the food store, you better bring you to your room. They have a couple of refrigerators for you ( something that I found great) but is not safe 100% at all because people can take your food and you don't have idea who take it. For the rest...really good.

Pros: Modern, clean and functional. Cons: Cold and unfriendly. One absolutely doesn’t feel at home; check-in took 45 minutes and the person at the reception hasn't even apologised. You have to pay extra for everything (even for the "luggage room"/lockers, if you want to leave some bags after check-out). The kitchen makes cooking almost impossible as there is hardly any space and the sink was really disgusting; Coffee is only available from the vending machine, which already stopped working at 9am; the sinks in the room made such a noise that every time someone goes to the bathroom at night, people will wake up; for that, the lights in the room (even the reading light) just stop working after a certain time. It feels like they tried to make everything modern and convenient, while making as much money as possible. In the process, they have forgotten about basic human needs. So if you’re looking for a clean place to just sleep; go for this one. But if you want more of a hostel experience, like in “a home away from home”, I’d advise you search for a smaller, cosier place.

Modern, clean, cold and awful. I've been to hostels in Spain, but I've never experienced such a rip-off. On the plus side, it's clean and functional. The negative : you absolutely don't feel at home; check-in took 45 minutes and the person at the reception hasn't even apologised; you have to pay extra for everything (even for the "luggage room"/lockers); the kitchen makes cooking almost impossible as there is hardly any space and the sink was really disgusting; Coffee is only available from the vending machine, which already stopped working at 9am; the sinks in the room made such a noise that every time someone goes to the bathroom at night, people will wake up; for that, the lights in the room (even the reading light) just stop working after a certain time. It feels like they tried to make everything modern and convenient (and make as much money as possible). In the process, they have forgotten about well-being. I would advise everyone to move to a smaller, cosier hostel.

Don’t be fooled by modern interior design and description of the hostel. In reality the atmosphere in very unfriendly and the rooms are super inconvenient (no curtains around beds and bathroom in the sleeping area). Don’t recommend!

When I visited the hostel I didn't had electricity the first two days. The employees said: "It's normal", when it's definitely not! I had to discuss many hours and spend a night in a dark room where I had to navigate with my mobile phone LED and had to shower in the dark. I asked for compensation after my trip, because of these circumstances: I could get a discount on my next trip: NO THANKS! I know these things can happen, but how you behaved is a NO GO. So, do yourself a favor and choose a different hostel. The rooms were very big and clean though. Update to your answer: It wouldn't be such a problem for me, unless you would not charged me the full amount for these nights. But you did and you even discussed with me for hours until you even realised that it's your mistake.

I visited 3 hostels (2 with better google reviews then Unite) in Barcelona and Unite is definitely the best. Spacious, clean, perfect location, great staff. Spent about 2 weeks here and on my next stay in Barcelona I am not going even to consider something else.

Cool location, near the beach and close to main Barcelona areas! Beds were comfortable. Added privacy may be a needed investment, in the form of curtains close to the bed. Had a strange man staring at my wife. Some receptionists were not the friendliest and left a bad taste in our mouth

This hostel has so much potential - beautiful interior design and facilities. Unfortunately it lacks vibes, maybe because it is such a big hostel - feels quite antisocial and a bit corporate. However, the close proximity to the beach and the sun terrace were lovely. Staff were helpful. If they organised more social activities for guests to meet each other it could be a really outstanding hostel!

  • 4/5 Mary G. 2 years ago on Google
Great concept, very industrial. I liked that the group rooms had a toilet and shower each room and also two sinks. Was very clean and pretty comfortable. The beach is very near, as is the metro. The bar wasn't open at any point when I was there which is a pity as it'd have been nice to socialise there in the evening. The first bed that was allocated to me had been used by someone else and not cleaned- though that's the fault of the guest for not sticking to their own bed. They relocated me quickly and gave me free towel hire.

High quality and modern hostel, great value for money. Everything was clean, ready and functioning. I appreciated fast check-in (around 11pm), thanks to flexible receptionist and especially to super helpful landlord/manager. Plus of the hostel is definitely the location, 5 mins to a beach & two supermarkets nearby. Strongly recommended for hostel travellers. Thank you 🙏

Pretty good hostel. We had a private family room for 8 people. One of the ONLY negative things was that the water pressure was SO HIGH that when you push it on, everything in the sink area is soaked. Also, our hand and body soap dispensers were empty the entire time. When I asked for toiletries, as advertised, I was given a handful of conditioner... while nice, not what I needed. Clean lobby, walkways, halls, rooms, etc. Comfortable beds, to European standards. Shower is nice, but the water is on a timer, so you have to push it about every 30 seconds.

Rooms are nice, at least private, but kitchen has only 1.5-litter kettle & 2 sections for cooking. It's not possible even to prepare a coffee, without staying in a queue. Also, there were too little amounts of cups/plates, approximately 5 pieces, that's for the whole hostel of few hundred of people. Please, fix buttons in right elevator, floor 5 doesn’t work

I love everything about this hostel, the interior design is really unique and beautiful. The services they offer are really nice, the staff is helpful, the vibes are awesome, and I met really nice people from all over the world. It's located near the beach and near the metro and bus stations so you'll never have a problem getting around from or to the hostel.

Excellent stay. Good value for money considering location and modern style of the hostel. A couple of maintenance issues in the rooms, in that the power sockets were inoperable, but if I had reported this during my stay, Im sure the issue would be resolved by the wonderful staff. I would 100% recommend and will certainly be staying again in the future!

Very clean, friendly staff, convenient & reasonable rules. Fast wifi with a very nice common room hosting a movie night each day of my stay. Also has a good quality restaurant attached.

This is a great place to stay when travelling Europe and popping over to Barcelona. Great location. The staff is brilliant, very helpful and friendly. Beds and bedding are very comfy too, air con in all rooms and quality windows to minimise the noise from outside. Close to the beach, great bars and restaurants
