BEWARE! THIS WAS THE WORST TRAVEL EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. Do yourself a favor and stay anywhere else. The low price isn't worth it. Lockers in the rooms would often stop working. We had a laptop and wallet stolen from an otherwise empty dining area while sitting on the table right next to us. The day before there was an attempted robbery on two random girls in the kitchen cooking area. Another guy "lost" his wallet in the common area. Staff were awkward and dismissive about everything. Management was non-existent for days after. Cameras are there for a false sense of security and not for your protection. When needed, the camera footage suddenly doesn't exist during the time of the incident. The people who work here are either involved or simply can't be bothered. There are lots of other inexpensive options in town and most have actual security guards. This place is not safe at all, so if you choose to stay here, please be careful!

Room felt like a jail cell. You could feel the springs through the mattress, got only about 2 hours of sleep during my stay. Bathroom is gross and outdated, the room gives barely enough space for two people let alone 4. The area was nice and the breakfast and terrace were both good, but I would not be staying here again.

This place has decent space. Lost 1 star because there had been a flood in the room next to us and the floor was soaking. There was also a problem with the pipes and the hot water had been switched off for a day. Other than that it was great.

Warning: Mold & Cockroaches! No, just don't do it. The bathrooms have so much mold in them you will come out of your stay with respiratory issues and a disgusting cough. The cockroaches are quite literally almost the size of the key cards. The kitchen staff is beyond rude. And make aggressive comments. One of the woman even ripped a drink out of one of our group members hands because "he was outside of the time frame for breakfast hours." He had a couple of minutes before the cutoff time and wanted a drink of water. The rooftop bar is nice but there are other rooftops bars you can visit without having to fight for your life. Overall, I did not enjoy my torture here and would not return. Quite frankly, I am surprised they haven't been shutdown yet.

We stayed there one week, if you book the hostel on their own side with a credit card, they will charge you on arrival, expect some tax to be added (that was an unpleasant surprise ans should be changed by the management). The beds are clean and the bathrooms are cleaned every day. The key card that lets you open the main door, use the elevator, open your door and open your locker is a save and easy method. The terrace is nice, but be aware that it closes at 11pm. The breakfast is not great, but for 4,-€ all you can eat it is a good price. The staff is friendly and willing to help if there's a problem. Compared to other places it is quite far from the centre, but still alright. We usually walked to the centre and went back by train or night bus. It is really easy to reach by any public transportation.

It was a very modern and English friendly hostel but don’t plan on being able to chill in the rooms. They are small and cramped. That being said there were plenty of common areas where if you wanted some alone time you could find it. Great view of the city and everything was accessible via tram or metro.

This hostel almost put me off hostels altogether, and I'm a fervent hostel visiter. I stayed in a 4 bed female dorm, which is extremely small. Barely space to put your stuff (and I only had one small backpack), bathroom is in the room but again no space to put even toiletries. If you wake up sooner then the others or you arrive late or you need to pack... no space in the room itself and if you're on the top bunk you can't use that either. I ended up in the bathroom where I had light (as to not disturb the others) and put my bag up the toilet to pack (or unpack). Staff is friendly, no complaints there. Breakfast only from 8am. I feel for the price (40€ a night for that bed) I could've found better for a bit more. Will definitely do better research next time!

Pros: - really cheap - less than 10 minutes to get to the city center (train station is 2 minutes away) - friendly staff - cheap breakfast (7€) - nice view from the rooftop - I felt safe as a woman. There was one incident with my room mate, but gladly I could change the room - WhatsApp group for activities and exchange and a party every weekend Cons: - the rooms are really small - disgusting rooms, especially the bath rooms! They were so moldy, even till now my throat still hurts and I can’t breath as good as before - windows are always closed which makes sense since it’s environmentally friendly, BUT this also means that the rooms especially the shared rooms have stuffy air, I had a headache for two days and still they would not let allow me to open the windows for a few minutes (in a private room that would be possible if you sign something) - really unhygienic.. I saw the cleaning staff cleaning the room and they hardly did anything… the bath mat were NEVER changed! Even not after someone checked out the room!! - the pressure of the water tap was too high so the bath room was flooded - the person in our room left packages of sweets underneath the bed, even after they cleaned his bed, the packages were still there. Lots of dirty fingerprints on the wall and some booger. - the lockers are too small, a backpack would fit in but nothing more - the mattress was uncomfortable and I slept on the ground, in a bathtub and on a table once! These were even comfier! - I had no sheets for my blanket and I doubt that they actually wash the whole blanket.. Overall, if you don’t want to take a shower or don’t mint dirty (bath) rooms, this hostel would be a great stay. You can meet new people and enjoy a great view for a really cheap price! I think a lot of places in Barcelona actually have moldy bath rooms, even in restaurants the sinks were moldy. So maybe that’s a common thing there?

Overall, a decent stay. 4 bed bunk room was clean upon arrival with the exception of extensive mildew and mold in the attached bathroom shower. Shared facilites are good. Everything felt safe and the neighborhood is great with close subway entrance. Would recommend for travelers who plan to 1-2 nights.

The hostel atmosphere was great and the staff were super helpful and friendly. The rooms were pretty clean as well which was great. Overall great place to stay. The only downfall was that they don’t clean the blanket on the beds and the bathroom situation was an inconvenience turning the light and shower back on every 5 seconds.

Had a pleasant time at Urbany Hostel. The night staff was incredible and check us in when we arrived in the middle of the night. The day staff (particularly the ones dealing with breakfast) were alright. At moments it felt they were doing us a favour, even though it was an add-on breakfast voucher. The rooms were clean and they seem to make sure it stays that way, which is good. Overall a good experience there.

Mixed feelings … we had a four bed room for three girls. The beds cracked with every move and the dusty carpets were not exactly inviting. We were woken up one morning at 7am with a short fire alarm … after asking the staff at the reception whether it was a malfunction they just shrugged and said it’s broken but being fixed … would have been nice to know in advance. We didn’t hear the other guests too much (also went during quiet season in January). Bonus is the quiet location, close proximity to the metro and cute cafes and restaurants around.

Good location on it's own, there's a metro station very close by and it's a good area to stay. However, that's unfortunately where the good things end. The rooms were terrible. Very small, though there were bigger ones. There was mold, the rooms were always way too hot with no way of proper temperature regulation, the kitchen was only accessible through one elevator, the food was mostly absolutely terrible and mediocre at best but there's not much you can do wrong with cornflakes and milk. Positive point for a wider selection of different kinds of milk and the cute lofi in the background as well as the terrace which was nice. The beds were beyond uncomfortable and the ladders make it super hard to climb. When I tried to shower the water was super cold and additionally to that the lockers in the rooms didn't work. I like the idea of the community kitchen but only one out of four plates on top of the stove was working. I would generally not recommend staying here unless it's just for a night or you're in desperate need for a place to stay.

Great location, honestly super fine! We were 4 friends in 1 room with private bathroom so it worked out very well. 24h staff in lobby, close to public transport and main attractions. Would come back again.

Great hostel w/ nice 4 person rooms at good price. Nice nearby neighborhoods for coffee/meals. Bit too far to walk to major dwntn attractions, but conveniently located near metro entrance. Highly recommended.

This hostel was dirty, in our room there was a stain on the ground. We bought beer and there were lipstick marks on our glasses. The rooftop closes very fast and the night shops can't sell alcohol after 22u but... They sell it toch!

Genuinely one of the best hostels I have ever stayed in, and if anything, better than some budget chain hotels I've been to. The staff are extremely helpful, speak multiple languages, and can sort any issues or queries you might have including directions, booking taxis or talking on your behalf if you are unfamiliar with the language. Take a few minutes when you're in the lifts to look at all the facilities available - the luggage storage is all automatic, very fairly priced and very secure. The bar/terrace and rooftop are lovely, give you incredible views and are worth a visit. I stayed in a shared, all-female dorm room, and it was extremely clean, and spacious for what you pay for! Each bed has a small private light, which does not disturb others in the room, a single EU wall plug, and a single UK wall plug (so bring extension leads should you want to charge more than one device). The bed itself is very comfortable, and you get 1 pillow, 1 duvet and linens for free. Each person has a huge card-operated locker, which is secure and can comfortably fit lots of luggage! The room has the best blackout curtains I have ever seen, which means no outside disturbances and the window is sound-proofed so the rooms looking out onto the main road are very very quiet. There are coat hooks in the room too. Each shared room (I was in a room of 4 females), has an ensuite bathroom, which itself too is very spacious. There is a large shower, toilet, sink, hair straighteners and hair dryer provided, as well as a large mirror and small magnifying wall mirror too. There are coat hooks on the back of the door. Towels are not free, but only cost a few euros for your entire stay, but you can also bring your own. I read many reviews before I left about the shower - yes, it is on a 'timer' but literally not an issue. Great water pressure and instant hot water - temperature adjustable. I absolutely loved this place and is excellent for solo, first-time travellers or larger groups too!

the staff was very helpful, but the room was tiny, moldy and incredibly hot. The bed had weird stains and wasn't that comfortable. I wouldn't recommend staying for longer than a night. Another point is that the windows won't open unless you sign a form, even then it sadly only opens a little bit. The food was awful and the water is undrinkable. Pls just don't go.

Rooms way to small, dirty and mostly damaged. Would be a good view but there are these stupid metal things in front so you dont even have a good look at the city. The bathrooms are way to small and you cant even close the shower door completely. The water is either way to warm or way to cold. You cant fully open the window and cant get fresh air. Way to expensive for 55 per night not nearly good enough for the price i had to pay. The breakfast was absolutely disgusting i have never eaten so bad breakfast in my life thats incredible. The coffee tastes bad and the toast tastes like its 3 days old. Its the same breakfast every day and it all tastes old. Would not recommend to anybody for this kind of price. Disgusting

Only advantages are that it's close to the metro & rodalies station, the view and the kitchen. But that's it. The mattress was the least comfortable thing that you can imagine (and I've been in really uncomfortable places already) and the WiFi didn't really work the whole time I was there, same for other people that I've met. For luggage storage you have to pay extra which isn't advertised anywhere when booking and available luggage storage was actually the only reason why I booked this specific hostel. The air in the hostel room was disgusting since you couldn't open the windows. The bathroom is also not nice either, especially because the water pressure in the sink is way too high and the one in the shower is too low...

Staff were very welcoming and helpful and rooms thou small rather comfy. However building was either very cold or incredibly hot and the food was unfortunately awful. I would say good for a single night due to good location and views but wouldn't recommend for any more than that.

My friend and I had such a great time at this hostel. Beautiful terrace, rooms basic and clean, and friendly people both working and visiting at the hostel. Would gladly stay again.

  • 1/5 Adrian R. 8 months ago on Google
Shocking experience. Showers were mouldy and water pressure was terrible. Water pressure in the sink was extremely high which often left clothes drenched after usage. Room was too small for 6 people and often smelt terrible as there was little to no ventilation. Windows couldn’t be opened due to some stupid agreement. Towels were wet after the first shower and over the next two days did not once get dry, not to mention there were no good places to hang any towels or wet clothes. Beds were super creaky which proved extremely irritable when trying to get to sleep. Cleaner lady persistently tried to get into the bathroom to clean even while someone was having a shower and had been told not to go in. Kitchen smelt terribly, facilities didn’t work and there was no oven nor a microwave. Towels had to be rented for 3 euros. Food was super overpriced and didn’t look good. Location was decent but still quite far from the centre of the city. Overall a horrid experience and if I could give it zero stars, I would.

Urbany saved me from being homeless when I first arrived in Barcelona. Their prices are very affordable and their rooms are nice. The workers are very friendly and always wear a smile. Their buffet is cool, and you eat as much as you want for €7. I loved their cake sized egg blocks. If you need an affordable short stay home in Barcelona, try Urbany.

Rooms are clean, tidy. The mattress was not comfortable. I stayed 1 night only, or i wouldn't sleep well the second night. The pub crawling are awesome, shouting out to @PartyAnimal @Mo and @Giavanni for the awesome vibe.

Overall a fantastic stay. I would have liked privacy curtains on the beds. The facilities were clean and secure. Staff were super helpful, they did accidentally double charge me but they refunded it as soon as they realized and gave me a receipt when I noticed later and asked about it. Common spaces were large and easy to use.

This location is a prime location I would recommend it if you don't want to frequently bus or metro to the core. The price beer and breakfast was crazy cheap for people on a budget. A few things did bug me while showering I see lots of black mold around the caulking and shower trim, in the lunch room I looked up and I see the air con pretty filthily and black, the kitchen is very small for a hostel and had very few bowls, the breakfast milk was was warm they leave the out in the open they could of put it on ice.

Good location of the hostel, nice rooms for 4 with private bathroom and comfortable beds. Perfect for short city break with friends. 1 star less for the shower, besides that great hostel for reasonable price.

This is where I made a reservation for the Sunday Mass at the Sagrada Familia the next day. This is a guesthouse for overnight 'staying' only. If you don't like the huge dust on the toilet ventilator, pay more and consider another accommodation. I booked a four-person room with an individual bathroom with child 2. It was very narrow and only two bunk beds, but it was a new and challenging experience for my family. The common kitchen is equipped with common refrigerators and cooking utensils. There is a paid coin locker in the lobby. If you are sensitive to hygiene, look elsewhere

As a family (2+2) we rented 4 people room. For us it was enough space and beds were wide enough so that parents could sleep together with kids. Nearby are couple playgrounds. The terrace on the rooftop is also nice. Close to metro and couple useful buses and walking distance from Sagrada familia. You can't open the room window but in December air conditioning worked well so it wasn't a problem. Biggest complain is that sometimes there were only 5 plates in the common kitchen even though hostel has couple hundred beds. Breakfast starting at 8 is a bit late.

We had a fantastic stay for my friends hen doo! The staff were all lovely, great customer service :) The beds were a bit uncomfortable could do with new mattresses but for the price to be expected. The hostel was clean and we really enjoyed the roof terrace and outside breakfast area. The location was great, so much nicer than been in the main touristy areas, we found a few nice bodega’s to get drinks in the evenings & snacks. Very well located to lots of public transport to get around the city! :) Thanks guys x

Here for 3 days and it is a nice and comfortable hostel not so far from city center. A rooftop bar that is nice and the guy at the reception called Luis is so nice to help you with all questions and replies to your emails for booking almost instantly so this was the best service. One you would expect from a star hotel! Didn't spend all day in our room except for sleep, but all accommodations worked perfectly. Luis thanks again! He is the guy in the left bottom corner 😊

  • 2/5 Abhishek V. 4 years ago on Google
The rooms are good, but the working staff was not so great. Kids at the reception seemed disinterested in showing hospitality for the guests. There was an incident when random couple of boys walked in our room, because they had been given copies of the access card by the reception, even when their check-in was supposed to be on the next day. When I go down to check the issue with them, they make us stand aside half an hour, attending to other people.

  • 2/5 Ana L. 4 years ago on Google
The good thing was our room and bathroom were clean. The bad: The wifi did not work for more than 1-5 minutes. Then pages would just not load. The amount owed I was sent by email was 301 euros. When we arrived for check in, they charged us 329 euros. I showed them the email and they said it was their mistake but they still charged the 329 euros. Extremely dishonest and disappointing. The breakfast was disgusting, especially the eggs and the coffee. Lastly, the staff were rude. At other hostels we have stayed at they staff are usually very friendly, make recommendations, etc. The staff here never said hello and when we asked about things that were literally 500 metres away from the hostel they just said they did not know and to look it up. Not a horrible experience but I am not impressed.

  • 1/5 Jacinta M. 4 years ago on Google
Our room smelt absolutely disgusting, like a mixture of dirty feet and wet dog. We asked reception to clean it again and nothing was done. We asked again and it was cleaned, but the smell remained and came back the next morning pointing to something like mould. The wifi does not work, and half the time the elevators wont allow you to go to the communal areas like the rooftop or laundry. Don’t bother paying for food there, the dinner was okayish but the breakfast was inedible. Their service kitchen smells weird.

  • 2/5 Moez T. 5 years ago on Google
A very average hostel with basic cleanliness. The bar is okay. Wasn't too happy with the location either. They also lost my charger till it was found right when I was supposed to leave. The staff also mostly seemed disinterested. I would suggest you keep searching for better hostels.

Great hostel, amazing staff. You can party or relax hostel is for both kind of crowd. In about an average price you get : 1. Rooms with fresh linen 2. Breakfast with lot of options and fruits 3. Terrace dining 4. Great location 5. Daily cleaning routine 6. Secure, even to use lift you need your access card 7. Party bus and daily midnight fun options

Good and clean room with fantastic view from 8th floor, tiny but bigger than we expected. Reasonably quiet despite San Juan celebrations!

Great storage facilities in the room, simple keycard system, friendly staff, bar and 10th floor rooftop, good transport links, will definitely stay again if in Barcelona!

  • 1/5 Gabriela M. 1 year ago on Google
If you are going to stay for one night, it's tolerable. Any more than that, it's extremely uncomfortable. Rooms and sheets smell like humidity. Bathrooms are the most uncomfortable. Tiny toilet which seems rarely cleaned (it smelled like urine when I arrived). There are also motion sensors for the light that turn off every 30 seconds so you have to wave at the light even when you are showering. The shower itself you have to keep pressing the button for water because it turns off after 10 seconds so it will be a hot and cold shower. Towels are 3€ and they also feel a bit unclean. I would recommend elsewhere.

  • 2/5 Mariana Alves N. 1 year ago on Google
It's worth what you pay (hoping that you've paid cheap as we did for a 4-bed shared room). The building is old - you can notice when you enter the lobby and the elevators. The room was small, old and dusty. The carpets were all stained, some of the bed sheets had holes on them. They just clean the room (probably just the toilet seat, because it was the only think that looked kinda clean) when they expect guests, otherwise I guess the room stays without a good cleaning for days or weeks. The bathroom was dark and the shower has a timer (around 20 secs), which I actually think is good to help on water waste. They say there's a rooftop - there is, but it's really small. And when we were there, there was no lighting, so everyone was sitting there in the dark with their phone's flashlights on. The good thing was the AC that was working properly, and the bathroom was private. We saw some families, but most of the guests are youngsters partying. At least they weren't loud. Be aware that some of the rooms are mixed. We got lucky to share the room with other two girls for the first night and two guys who were quiet, clean and respectful. The staff in the morning were nice. They charge you 3 euros for the towel if you need one, and 7 euros for the coffee (but they also have a communal kitchen which I haven't seen), but for that price you can have a better breakfest at some place nearby. We only stood for two days, which were more than enough, otherwise I would have gone someplace else. I would instead save some bucks before coming back to Barcelona to afford a better place next time, this was a rude mistake.

  • 3/5 Ethan J. 1 year ago on Google
They are great, but the breakfast is the same, View is fantastic and no one cleans the rooms or toilets and the showers have to keep on pressing which is frustrating. Lifts were a bit broken and vending machines are scam I had to get my money back but the terrace was great. So overall not bad.

  • 4/5 Holly O. 1 year ago on Google
While the rooms are small, they’re so clean and modern that it was no bother. Amazing views of Barcelona (from the room and the rooftop terrace) & even though the windows don’t open there is aircon. There’s plenty of communal areas and a well equipped kitchen. The beds were comfy spring mattresses and they even had UK & EU outlets at each bed. The only negatives are just that the location isn’t really near anything. The shower curtains are too short so the bathroom floor was always wet and even came out onto the carpet. Also the bars opened at random times not the times given by staff or on the signs.

  • 4/5 Rusa-en-Europa 1 year ago on Google
Recommend! At the moment of visit, it was the cheapest accommodation in the city (20 euros per person). A great location near the city centre, tower and a big market. Room was really small and without any place for movement, but with socket near every bad and a bathroom inside of the room. The bad thing is that a window could not be opened (flour 10, safety reasons) so there was no fresh air in the room (but a strong air conditioner) The best is a big kitchen with all commodities to cook and tables to eat. There is also a terrase to eat or sit on the flour 3 and a cool "Sky Bar" on the flour 13 with a wonderful view over the city to enjoy the evening. There is possibility of breakfast buffet for 7 euros, luggage lockers for 4 euros 24 hours and visiting night clubs free with a hostel key.

  • 3/5 Diego B. 1 year ago on Google
The place is ok. On the pro side, the hotel has easy access. Everyone had their own key. The rooftop has a great view. On the cons side, the common area seemed a little untidy. The elevator we took to store our luggage before checking in had a weird smell. We stayed in the 12th floor, which is terrible. There is a sky bar in the 13th floor and everytime someone would go down or up the stairs they would bump the door. That would happen until very late in the morning. I heard people doing so until 2am, then I finally manage to sleep.

The hostel itself is okay, however, in the summer, the air conditioning doesnt work well. Its around 26 degrees inside most rooms which makes it really hard to sleep at night. Also, the room smelt horrible and the staff just does not care

I went with a group of friends and this was the perfect spot to stay. The location is perfect, close to the subway and a 24h market. Very clean and comfortable, no noise during the night and the staff was very polite. We used the kitchen and the terrace and loved both.

I stayed at this hostel's female room for 6 person. My experience was very perfect and the other girls was very kind. There was an hairdryer and hair straightener in the bathroom. But the only bad thing was climate, it was very cold for me because I was very close to it. But everything is okay, thank you 👍

I stayed here back in 2015, it was filled with teenagers partying I did not sleep at all, they assured me i would have a private room then in the middle of the night a young man all of a sudden was sharing my room. I requested to leave and booked another nearby hostel but they refused to refund my money... complete crooks.

Great location, fair price and a great viewings from the terrace. Besides, the receptionist Eli from Argentina helped me finding a jumper that I lost and also changing my room as I got a classic super loud snorer guy for the first night in my dorm. Big thanks to all the friendly staff.

Loud squealing fan in 601 comes on routinely, including at night. Worker said its water pipes and shrugged it off. Mattress is bad. Shower has no stall and drain clogged. One worker downright hostile. Bad smell in elevator. breakfast looks bad. Hidden tax at all hostels here. Water is bad. Spotty wifi. Can't go out on 3rd floor patio. No smoke detectors in room. Locking lockers are nice at least
