The most awful experience I have ever had. We spend the weekend in the hotel with a big group of friends. We have been victim of robbery in the hotel. External people have been to enter in the hotel, access to the rooms, break down the door of one of our room and steal money, phone, bags… The hotel initially started to help us and finally let us without any compensation or explanation whereas it was on their responsibility. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this hotel! No security!

If it would be possible to give 0 to this hotel that would be great. Everything was horrible. Hygiene was way below the awarage, no aircondition, if you take the shower water will be everywhere in the bathroom... I have never been in such a bad hostel... Only advantage is location...Personally, I would give those rooms for homeless people to live for free not to charge someone with 70e per night for such a disaster.

Do not recommend! Do not book. 1. First of all the rooms stink, the bathroom has a horrible smell that fills the room with a disgusting smell and the water also smell so bad you dont even want to wash yourself. 2. Second they are full of "kids" that scream the whole day and night, slamming doors smoking in the hallways. Its impossible to sleep or even be in the room. I feel like i am in a zoo not a hotel. Even the hotel stuff did not do anything to fix it. 3. The king bed is actually two very old twin beds that have only have a mattress on top which always slips and you are falling in between the mattresses. The people that left review of "good" beds are lying. 4. The most important one. They steal here. The workers are working with pickpoketers and steal your bags and belongings and then do not help you with absolutely anything. I've travel to other 20 countries and stayed in more that 50 hotels, and this one I can gladly say its the worst. They do not deserve that rating at all. Never coming back and hope you will not be fooled too with the good reviews.

Stayed for 5 nights. Really liked the balcony, it was bigger than I though it would be. They staffs are very nice. Great location, only 7 minutes walk to Casa Mila. They provided shampoo, body wash, soup, hair dryer, towels, hangers in the room, but do not have kettle. There is only one bedside table for 2 beds, I think it would be better if they included a small table in the room.

I had a terrible experience staying with this hotel. First we booked a double room. Pictures were very deceiving cause the room was extremely small. After we laid our 2 luggages there were no more space left to walk. I tripped on my luggage twice. We went for an upgrade immediately the next day, and paid 50 euro extra for each night. With the price we were paying (150euro per night) there was literally no drinking water. We were asked to refill our bottles with the staffs at the counter which was reasonably acceptable, however there was a few times i felt a few staffs were agitated with my request as if I was begging for it. (I only refill once a day) Also, the hair dryer spoilt in my room. I spoke to the staff of the night shift with short hair gave me an attitude saying there’s nothing she could do about it. I understand it’s not her fault but the service was just so terrible. I had to ask a stranger in the hallway to let me in her room just to blow dry my hair. If you are planning to stay here, can’t deny the location is very strategic and few staffs were friendly and helpful. But definitely with the price you can go for a better hotel instead.

After reading some of the recent reviews I was a bit skeptical but we had an excellent stay. The check in - check out was super easy, the room was spotless with AC. There is barely any natural light but that didnt bother us since we didnt spend much time in the room. The location is unbeatable, in the middle of Gracia. Would stay here again :-)

Communal areas (bar, chill out zone, breakfast floor) were all great, staff were welcoming and very accomodating. Rooms were clean, beds were comfy, and showers were good - even though not a super high standard they were good value for money. Hotel location was great too.

Nice place and good location. But due to construction work we had no access to the balcony for which we payed a surcharge. We couldn’t even open the window te let in some fresh air. I totally understand that the balcony has to be closed during construction work. However, we did not get any discount or restitution for the unfair charging. Hope you manage that better next time. Saludos M

This place is just amazing. We had a warm welcome and although our room wasn't quite ready we given some drinks tokens and enjoyed a couple of beers in the bar whilst we waited. Our room was beautiful, with a balcony overlooking the main street. The room was clean, spacious and the decor was tasteful. The decor in the main communal areas was eclectic and full of charm. Something different and made this stand out from other places we have stayed. We loved the breakfast, lots of choice and great coffee. Excellent that its available 8am-11am so no early rush. We would love to stay again. Mazin'

I stayed here during a group tour I was on. I stayed in a room for 6, but with only 3 other girls besides myself. The room and the bathroom was very spacious. The bunks were nice because they had their own light and little shelf that I used to hold my glasses at night and to set things there that I was charging. I don't remember any space in the room or bunk to put your stuff where you could lock it up because I was rooming with people I knew and trusted so I wasn't really looking for this. The room itself was clean. Other travelers with our group told me that they found a cockroach in their room. The restaurant, bar, and lounge area were all very nice. Hostel had a decent location. Very walkable to nearby places or the metro. Overall, if I ever come back to Barcelona I would stay here again.

They confirmed they would refund me when we had to cancel due to covid, but then just decided to keep the money despite guaranteeing they would refund. They told me they would now only give me credit if I booked again, and then tripled the prices. It's been a year of me emailing them and I haven't had a penny back. They stole my money and I would seriously recommend you avoid so they don't steal yours too.

Room 208 extremely small (as for four people). Neglected. Worst of all, however, is the fact that no cleaning lady has visited this room for probably decades! Disgusting shower curtain. Dirty bed linen and blanket. Trash in the dumpster from previous customers. Window covered with frosted wallpaper - no access to any sunlight. Strange bubbling sounds from behind the walls all night long. Not even the smallest table or chair. Thank God it was only one night. Never again! Advantages Nice staff at the reception. Good location.

I'm not sure why people are rating this as a good hotel, it is NOT. I booked a room that has an Air Conditioner, upon arrival, the AC was not working at all, in any room, complained a lot, and hotel workers play dumb and pretend they don't speak English, the temperature in Barcelona was 35C for the whole week, the room felt like an oven, not having an running AC is not OK at all. especially when the price we paid was for a 5-star hotel, and in return we got 1-star hotel room. the lobby AC was working so the receptionist didn't feel worried about the AC not working in the rooms and all the complaints we had (we asked multiple travelers and they confirmed the AC not working in their rooms). booking.com was not helpful when complained over the phone and that puts an end to my long relation with this website. -Elevator is ancient, and mostly stuck on one of the floors. room was on the 5th floor climbing stairs every time going in or out was just ridiculous. -Room service is useless, we had to ask for toilet papers to be restocked. they only make the bed and leave! -The double bed is practically 2 single beds butted together, one mattress is soft and one firm, extremely uncomfortable! and for some reason on day 4, they swapped the pillows with other ones that are very firm and very thick, it was like sleeping on the rocks. -The shower has low pressure and can't get a consistent temperature, one second is freezing cold and a moment later, its boiling hot. the shower leaked on the floor every time we used it and made a mess. -the pictures shows rooms in good condition, but in reality, room is dirty, hair and dust balls in the corners, floors scratched (badly), damp and hot hallways, you can smell the humidity everywhere. -Location: its at the end of the street, UPHILL! not ideal location, very loud location, the noise was unbelievable, from 7am to 4am, can't sleep at all.

We stayed in a 3-bed apartment Pros: -Location was amazing. It is on the main shopping area and close to a lot of public transit and restaurants. -Terrace was beautiful and gave a nice view of the area -Friendly staff -Affordable and good space for 3 people Cons: -This place was not cleaned well. There were ants in the bathroom, stains and hairs in the bed, and marks/cobwebs up the walls. They definitely need to clean better -The room is separate from the actual hotel; you have to enter another dimly-lit building nearby. Not super easy to go to lobby and ask for extra items. -The beds were very uncomfortable. I think the ones we stand on were a taken apart, folded out sleeper couch. I had metal bars digging into my back at night, which wasn't good to have after a long day of walking and exploring.

Rooms is old but gold. Its some thing between Modernity and civilization. An outstanding location par excellence. In the bustling city center and close to everything. The staff is very nice and very helpful. I think he deserves a higher rating than we do. I will definitely repeat the experience. There is something very important: they have an receptionist "Alia" who speaks Arabic. She is very nice and helpful and provides useful advice for visiting tourist places in Barcelona, and this is important for those who speak Arabic only.

The only tip I can give is stay away of this rip-off... honestly you can find way better options by this price or less. We stayed there 3 nights, of which the wifi did not work for 90% of the time. Response of the hotel: we're fixing it, come to the lobby for internet... unacceptable. We booked a double bed (and mattress), but ended up being two very old individual mattresses put together, which were falling apart. The room was a real cave, extremely small and with a tiny window that led to an interior patio, therefore there was barely light. For the rest there was no space for anything, nowhere to put our stuff (not even a chair or a sort of table, only a tiny closet). On top of that, the bathroom was accordingly small, having to squeeze yourself agains the sink to open or close the door. There were no facilities in the room, not even glasses to drink some tap water or so. Furthermore, walls and doors were so thin that you could hear almost perfectly conversations of people in the corridor, at a normal voice level. So overall, it is way way below expectations and does not match the expensive prices. Completely ripped off and therefore would recommend to avoid this place.

The place is really great, the rooms are really nice, it's pretty comfortable and clean. It was way too expensive though. I am disabled and asked if I could have a bottom bunk. I was told they would try but couldn't guarantee me a bottom bunk. I got a top bunk, very difficult for me. I accepted this but then only two people ended up being booked in so I could have had an easier and safer stay on the bottom bunk after all. They could have tried harder to help I think, and soon I won't be able to risk it. There's a big kitchen and other facilities I didn't even get to see as I was busy outside. The location is good, very close to a metro station. I would highly recommend this hostel.

Small room with private W/C, we were a couple but they gave us a room with two single beds. They said us that they clean the room every 3 Days because of covid-19. Instead of that they cleaned it ones within 7 Days we stayed. Its better to take your own towels. The staff was very kind, they are 24h open for check in. There was no noise at all. Unfortunately, because of covid again, the shared kitchen was locked. The location is good , it is about 2km from placa de cataluna, which is the main centre and there is a bus and metro station nearby.

For a hostel this place isn’t bad. Though the price is a bit higher than what you would usually expect but this is BCN. I got a single room and I paid close to $150 for it which is high. The room is outdated and cleanliness is not the greatest. You can also hear others. Internet is not great. This hostel is great for socializing and joining events with other travellers. You also can stay alone

Lovedddd my stay! I stayed in the female four bed dorm and I gotta say it's one of the nicer hostels I have stayed in. The staff is super friendly and helpful. They even arranged an alternative room for the night when the AC in our room broke down. And the problem was solved in the morning when maintenance staff came in. The neighborhood of Gracia is lovely and away from the hustle and bustle of more touristy part of Barcelona. The hostel is right near the Diagonal metro line which gets you pretty much anywhere you want to go due to very good connections. Highly recommend.

  • 5/5 Michael S. 6 months ago on Google
The Gracia neighborhood is a gem, glad we stayed here instead of downtown like in the Gothic quarter, the neighborhood was quieter and less touristy, and all of the bars and businesses we went to were extremely genuine. The rooms were very nice, the beds were comfortable and clean, to be nitpicky the bathroom was a tad small. The staff was very friendly, there were no unexpected fees, and we even messed up and booked incorrectly, we stayed an extra night that wasn't on our reservation and it caused a big headache for the staff, but even so after clearing up the mistake they were still gracious, would stay again. The only bummer was that I was under the impression that there was a rec room in the basement but not so, the only amenities include laundry (11am to 8pm), a large kitchen (7am), and lots of sitting space including a courtyard that's smoker friendly. Plus the restaurant bar.

Don’t get me wrong, the place is nice and absolutely value for money. But it seems like when they were building the space up, they’ve decided to make it as loud as possible: seriously, you can’t use a door without slamming it, and every couple of minutes you can hear some door slams somewhere around, and considering that the walls are made of cardboard — this brings no comfort. It was like this back in 2018, it’s still like that today, and it doesn’t seem like something is going to change anytime soon. Dear Casa Gracia, how about adjusting your doors?

  • 5/5 Marina M. 4 months ago on Google
The location is very nice and within walking distance from a central metro station and key touristic areas of Barcelona. The staff are very friendly, and shoutout to Diane that gave us the best restaurant recommendation (La pepita). The only downside is that they have a threshold on AC/Heating temperatures, which didn’t allow us to be able to use it; But we opened the window and were just fine with it. Their breakfast was amazing, with lots of different options. And if you like luxury brand shopping, the hotel is next to all the famous brand stores. Most of their rooms are hostel style, but we stayed in one of the single rooms they offer. I highly recommend staying here!

  • 5/5 David C. 4 months ago on Google
Decent location close to the events I wanted to go to. One of the best breakfast buffets I've ever had, a large selection of meats, cereals, coffees, fruits, etc (breakfast is between 8am and 11am) My hostal room was clean, towels were provided and shower gel and shampoo were also provided free of charge. 30 euros per night is reasonable. I would consider staying at Casa Gracia again if I were in Barcelona again.

Good location, and if you have a room on the high floor with balcony, great view. This is a hotel, but also has a hostel side. So the staff treats everyone as if they’re a hostel guest. If you book a normal hotel room, the rooms are small. Good for solo traveler or two people. The room does not have any TV, small refrigerator, etc. in that case, if you are planning to book the hotel side, depending on how often you plan on spending on the inside, I truly think the value doesn’t not meet the standards for a hotel room. If you’re planning to stay on the hostel side. Fine. There’s only 1 elevator, so if the hotel is busy, you will be stuck taking the steps. The front desk, are some what friendly, depending on who your speaking with. We first rented an apartment for 4 days with Casa and they apartments side are nice. I would not recommend booking the hotel rooms, and pay the extra €50 and just book the apartment. Otherwise, you might as well just book a hostel room. The location is great. And easy to find taxis. As someone who travels around Europe every 2-3 weeks, and compare and rate accommodations. Unsure if I would 100% recommend. Keep in mind the hotel staff are young, and could use a bit more customer service training.

Friendly price. Very good service and all staffs are super helpful. The room is very clean. Good breakfast. ...Just one thing that all of us feeling disappointed is the actual room doesn't same as picture and description. We have allocated to the other building and have no views at all. Other than that, we are happy to recommend Casa Gracia to all of you.

  • 4/5 Florian H. 6 months ago on Google
The rooms are as pictured and in good condition. The staff can be somewhat slow (long wait at the reception) and at one point our cards (to open the doors) stopped working for no reason. Other than that they were still very kind. I can also strongly recommend eating breakfast there, since there is a lot to choose from.

Very pleasant stay. The building and furnitures are well-picked and the terrace at the back is good to enjoy a relaxing breakfast. Prices are slightly higher but it's worth it if you're looking for a chiller vibe.

This is a beautiful hostel with great amenities and facilities for guests. It is in a prime location and holds a lot of great history. It is definitely one of the better hostels I’ve stayed in with great rooms and clean spaces however the early closure of all the communal areas including the kitchen and the terrace limit its appeal and vibe, essentially making you feel like the bad kids on a school camp. These spaces should be available later especially for a city like Barcelona that comes to life at night. If you’re looking for a social hostel, this one probably isn’t it.

Highly recommended as soon as I came in I loved the building. It combines the old with the modern, the rooms were very clean. The breakfast was very nicely served and had a nice area to eat. I also want to highlight the kindness of the Argentine security guy since he helped us get around the city to where we were going and was on the lookout for whatever we needed

Beautiful old building and great location. I booked a private room/bathroom (there are dorms and fun common areas, but also private rooms for older people) and it was quite comfortable. Special thanks to the friendly staff, particularly Alfredo, who made my stay special by upgrading my room to a beautiful suite overlooking Paseo de Gracia. Thanks Alfredo :)

Could be the best coliving I’ve ever been. Friendly and still professional; beautiful exteriors and even nicer interior, this place will make you feel like you are staying at a palace. The location is simply spot on, Gracia is one of the most vibrant area in the city. On the ground floor there is a restaurant open to the public, and very good too. While from the first floor upward is reserved for the guests. On the first floor you will find a spacious studio, living room if you need to work or simply relax. Opposite side a broad kitchen area with four fridges and the breakfast area which gives you access to a lovely terrace! Cleaning service is on a daily basis. I am impressed! Well done

Visited Casa Cracia October ’23. A few pro’s en con’s. Pro’s: • I was able to use the voucher we received in 2020 due to a cancelled booking because of covid-19 which we really appreciated. • We really enjoyed breakfast. • Well situated in Barcelona and nearby metro. Rooms a properly. Con’s: • Communication by mail goes very slowly, it sometimes took a week before we get an useable answer, there is little information transfer to colleagues. • On our last day we couldn’t enjoy breakfast because we had to leave early. As a service we received a breakfast-bag. Happy with the service, unhappy with the content which was in no comparison of the lunch in the hotel (dry white bread with ham en cheese, an apple, water, and a fruitwaterlike-drink). • Short before arrival I received a what’s app message with a word of welcome. It also says ‘if you have any questions simply reply to this message’. Answering goes quicker than by mail but still takes a lot of time. Our last message/question is still unanswered. If you can’t realize a whatsapp-service properly, than don’t do it. • Bartenders ask your ID -passport or drivers license- as a deposit for using the pool table (beside an 20 euro deposit). Again happy with a pool table, unhappy with the policy of using it. The first time we used the pool table, only a deposit of 20 euro was adequate. The second time, the bartender also asks for my ID. I thought he wanted to check if I was a guest and booked a room which he could have done but he wanted to keep my ID as long as we would use the pool table. I asked why, the answer 'because so are our rules'. I said he might do a check, that’s fine with me but keeping my ID as a deposit, no. I wanted to explain why I did not want to but there was not really an opportunity, bartender becomes unpolite so we left with a bad feeling. I really doubt about the right to use an ID as a deposit because of GDPR legislation and because it's creates an opportunity of identity-fraud. Last reason, people might forget to ask it for return. Overall and although the pro’s I’m not really convinced to book this location again.

We were three people staying for a few days and it was a great experience. Lady at the reception, Gabi, was incredible and went out of her way to help us with planning our day trip to Montserrat. Any complaints were immediately tended to. The location is pretty great, with super accessible public transport. And the place is really beautiful, has an old charm. Just one problem. Our group had to be split up into two rooms (our own fault, not the hostel's), and one of the rooms was way smaller and not at all as nice as the other one. But everyone still paid the same price! It would be better if the price reflects the size of the rooms! Other than that, it was a great experience and especially the service was AMAZING.

Had a lovely time at Casa Gracía. Partner and I booked a private room with a balcony which overlooked the main street. The room was cute with high ceilings, loved the French doors. The bed was really comfy as well though there is sometimes a gap between the matresses. The bathroom was really nice, very modern. Shower only, very clean, lots of storage area for all your toiletries. Only complaint about the bathroom is that sometimes the shower overflows easily due to the shower design. We just put up a towel barrier at the shower entry and it was fine. We had breakfast included and there was a great assortment of choices. We stayed here a week and for 6 days ate a small breakfast on the patio to start the day. One thing I thought particularly neat was the elevators. Two wooden elevators through each entry door. It's a bit slow but a really neat feature. I'm not big on elevators but had to give them a try. Location-wise Casa Gracía was in a perfect location. One block away was the metro (buses and subway) and 4 blocks more was a train station. Really convenient if you're hopping around Barcelona. All in all this was a great place to stay. I'd recommend it to friends if they were visiting. Got a lot of what you'd get in a normal hotel for a fraction of the cost.

I really can't understand why the rating of this place is so low :( the location is fantastic, staff was super friendly, the whole hostel was very clean and someone came everyday to clean the room and change the towels. It is also beautifully decorated and the bed was super comfortable. The only reason why I'm not giving it 5 stars is because it is a bit loud (not noise from outside but from the room doors closing, etc). Overall highly recommended :D

I wouldn't recommend anywhere else to stay! Me and my partner stayed here in a private room a week prior to the city going on lockdown. Not only did Casa Gracia respond so well to concerns about covid but it was genuinely one of the nicest venues I've stayed in. The room was incredibly well priced for our short stay in the heart of the city. You don't feel like you are staying in a hostel at all. It was a great atmosphere with a fantastic bar, friendly staff with tonnes of recommendations on where to go and great services. We made some incredible friends who stayed here too.

Great location but lacking in many other respects. Hotel and room had great potential but the finishings were poorly done and ended up looking cheap. Breakfast was terrible - donut and banana left out on a plate until you arrived at breakfast.

Private Rooms urgently need renovation I have been here twice and both times walls are marked bathtub with rust marks. They don't provide enough soup and shampoo and they don't come by every day to clean your room ...

Sadly disappointed! I've been a customer in the Hostel for years and my last trip was very disappointing. No cleaning was made in my room. Breakfast is very poor, very limited (cheap croissant + banana and water orange juice.... Really really cheap. No choice. SAD because on the website there's a promo (get free breakfast) and this is the breakfast you get. Not OK because I have been used to their usual "buffet breakfast". Am so disappointed that am not sure I will come back. What happened to this great place???? It used to be perfect. Ok, covid but it does not explain everything. You must keep minimum service for your clients.

Don’t book if you like to sleep. At 4am an alarm went off in the building. We woke up a bit startled wondering is it a fire? An Intruder? We try to turn the lights on, but there’s also a power cut….great! Loud, weird sounds worry us even more. 1hr later the electricity is back on, back to sleep. At 8am some faint drilling starts on a floor below. At 8.30am the drilling and hammering is next door, I can’t believe it. I record the sound on my phone. At check out, I politely complain about the night. The receptionist tells me the power cut is normal and nothing to do with them. The hammering that I play her off my phone “impossible it’s from us”. She tells me it must be from a guest and will investigate. I also apparently should’ve “have contacted the hotel at the time”. All the time she is saying this, there are two workers drilling and hammering just 15m away. I’m shocked and I leave before I lose my cool. I’ve stayed at Casa Gracia before, but this will be the last time. Very unhappy with the receptionist and her total lack of empathy.

Great location, room, bed and balcony, we upgraded to supreme room for around €10 more which was totally worth it, might even sound exaggerating to say I’ve had the best sleep for a long time. It was quiet, the only downside was the shower that leaks water from the side but nothing a towel couldn’t solve. We reported some minor issues to the friendly hotel staff and they were swiftly solved. We stayed during the week so there was no noise issues from the street and I literally didn’t hear anyone within the hotel as well as if it was empty!

Remember to use Hᴏᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking any hotel. This web site will compare countless hotel sites and typically will have rooms much cheaper compared to others! You're welcome :)! This hotel is the best rated in this area. I have been coming here for years. If you choose this place you won't be disappointed. Very nice place. Clean with polite stuff and very helpfull in case you need anything. We asked for a specific type of room when we made the reservation and they managed to give it to us. Deffinetely staying here if we ever come again.

Pros: The location of this hotel cannot be beat. It is just a couple minutes walk from a Metro stop and is in the heart of Barcelona. The balcony is nice and the view is beautiful. Cons: the apartment was not as described at all. It was much smaller than the pictures, with two twin-size cots pushed together in one room and a broken sofa bed in the living room. The beds are very uncomfortable. The kitchen is un-usably small. The shower does not have a door so water splashed all over the bathroom floor from the shower. The manager (I think) of the apartment side of the hotel was pretty rude: we did not wear a mask walking up to our room as we did not see anyone else around; he accosted us and continued to follow us around the hotel every time we returned to our room. I understand wearing a mask around others, but it was a deserted building with nobody around so we didn't think to put our masks on. I would return to this area but not to this particular hotel.

The location is really good. Some little things might be negative but it depends on the type of traveler you are. The rooms are small, if you are the type of person that takes out everything out of your bag when traveling there is no space for placing them. Also, if you like reading a book before sleeping the light is not good. Aside from that, the rooms are good enough for a good night sleep. We didn't have any kind of inconvenience.

If you are not sure where to spend some quality time relaxing after a tiring day exploring the gorgeous city of Barcelona, then, believe me, Casa Gracia is absolutely the best place to do that! The thing that left me speechless during my visit was how helpful the staff was! An unfortunate incident had occurred during my family's stay. The management team from the hotel didn't stop working until it was resolved, even though it took more than a month! I couldn't ever forget the kindness of those people and I thank them endlessly!

Please change the mattresses!!!!! The house is very nice, location is great but you cannot have these beds!! Stayed in a standard double room, instead of a king size mats there were 2 mats (old and soft) together and of top of those 2 Mats a really thin king size Mats…. What are you doing????? Cheap and weird 👎 ah and they didn’t have shower gel, they said that they just have shampoo😂 I had to buy at the shop which is fine but again weird

We stayed here in a hostel-style room and reservation. Price was cheap, room looks stunning, only details were off. Employees seemed a bit up-tight. They fit the hotel part of their business better than the hostel vibe I am used to.
