Breakfast is really good, and the shower is cool. Rooms are somewhat small. Windows are not good, we can hear every single word from the street that is 2 floors beneath us and our room was getting cold. People are not really quite on said street during night by the way. The room is clean, can't complain about that but I don't like that our blankets were beneath two sheets instead of a proper duvet cover. You can also only flush the toilet once every 10 minutes. The major plus is that the hotel is in a pretty good location, you can reach several very good restaurants within minutes walking, the harbour is 10 minutes away and the rambles are right around the corner basically.

The hotel is really nice and recently renovated. It's in a great location. The rooms are a bit smaller than we expected (based on the pictures online) but I believe that's pretty normal for Europe in general. The rooms are clean and the bathroom is spacious and very clean and new. There's also some great cafes on the same street. I would stay here again.

The hotel is located in a great location with 24/7 reception and locked main door making it safer than other hotels we found. The room, although we knew would be tiny, was extremely tiny to the point that we could not even open a suitcase. We complained few times for bad smell of weed on the hotel floor and the staff was unable to help. On the second day we left the hotel at about 10:00 and when we came back at 16:30 the room hadn’t been cleaned yet. The gym is also only open until 15:00.

The rooms are quite small and feel like a cave. The room I stayed in has a window into the bottom of a light-well, but it feels somewhat claustrophobic and causes the room to be quite dark. You can hear people in the rooms around you probably because many of them share this light-well space. Otherwise it is clean, has a nice bathroom, although you have to open the window, otherwise the steam is too intense.

Unfortunatly the treadmill in the gym is not working and in general the sports equipment is a bit old. Also after I ask almost every day to make the treadmill working again, nothing happens. Besides the the front desk stuff is very friendly, everything is clean. Air-conditioning in the room is a bit loud. Very closed to a the City Center. Overall not Bad :-)

The hotel’s location is really good but the quality is not worth the price. The room smells of heavy cheap perfume that tries to cover something worse and the beds are folded bunk beds. With the price and a little bit more you can live in a good hotel everywhere else but not here. I don’t recommend.

The hotel is situated in the heart of Gotik quarter and just 15 minutes walk to the nearest beach, 20 minutes walk from Barceloneta beach. Is also well looked after and clean. There is no breakfast. We had a twin room on 4th floor The room had windows which were looking on the back of the building. The receptionist who checked us in could of been a bit more informative. All together I will recommend this hotel if you want to stay in that area.

Fantastic Stay in the Heart of Barcelona's Gothic Quarter Rating: ★★★★½ (4.5 out of 5 stars) During our recent trip to Barcelona, we had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Hesperia Barcelona Barri Gòtic, and it exceeded our expectations in many ways. The location of the hotel is simply superb, situated in the charming Gothic Quarter and within walking distance of numerous attractions such as The Picasso Museum and the historic Barcelona Cathedral. Additionally, being just a block away from the Marina and Barcelona Beach added an extra touch of convenience and enjoyment to our stay. The hotel itself is well maintained and generally very clean, ensuring a comfortable environment for guests. However, it's worth mentioning that the carpets in the hallways could benefit from replacement, as they appeared worn and in need of refreshing. Nonetheless, this minor issue did not detract significantly from the overall positive experience. One of the standout aspects of our stay was the exceptional pet-friendly service provided by the staff. We had informed them in advance about bringing our dog along, as required, and upon arrival, we were delighted to find that they had prepared a plush bed, a ball, and food and water bowls for our furry companion. This thoughtful gesture made us feel truly welcomed and appreciated as pet owners. The staff throughout our stay were consistently friendly, accommodating, and went out of their way to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. Over the course of three nights, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Hesperia Barcelona Barri Gòtic. In terms of pricing, we found it to be reasonable when compared to other hotels in the vicinity, especially considering its prime location. The combination of a great location, well-maintained facilities, exceptional pet-friendly service, and friendly staff made our stay a memorable one. I highly recommend Hotel Hesperia Barcelona Barri Gòtic to anyone seeking a fantastic stay in the heart of Barcelona's Gothic Quarter. With its ideal location, comfortable accommodations, and attentive staff, it offers a delightful experience that is well worth the visit.

The 4 stars I’m giving this hotel are for the following : 1- superb location . You can walk to so many points of interest , including a nearby stop for the hip on-hop off bus ( stop # 4 in front of the Port Vell Marina ) 10-20 minutes walk to many attractions . Lots of amazing restaurants within a 5-10 min walk . Also, a fabulous health food cafe next door . ( Soul Cafe) unique neighborhood with lots of cool shops and bars . 2- Cleanliness — the hotel is immaculate and everything feels & looks clean and modern . 3- efficient and polite staff . They will briskly attend to your every need and concern . Like calling a taxi — or giving help With places to go and how to get around . 4- Amenities— Details in the room include a coffee and tea station pop, nice ceramic coffee cups and real glasses ( not plastic ) a nice big glass bottle of water . TV with 2 English speaking channels BBC and Al Jazeera. Safe in the closet for storing valuables , huge bath towels , and an easy to operate AC / heat ( just push the button next to the bed ) I can’t give it 5 stars because the bed is not comfortable . If you don’t mind a hard bed that feels like you’re sleeping on the ground , then skip this part of my review. The bed is so stiff and uncomfortable, and creaks when you move. I couldn’t sleep on my side . The mattress does not conform to your body curves like a nice memory foam type bed would. The regular rooms are very small — like I would expect in all big cities — but if you don’t get much space , at LEAST have a comfortable bed . The bed is only place in the room you can hang out ( there is one chair at the desk but it’s not the kind of chair you can. Relax in ) The horribly hard bed they offer is the one reason I would not stay here again. I have stayed in many tiny rooms in big cities and sone have amazingly comfortable soft yet supportive beds . If they install those memory foam mattresses I will happy stay here again .

Stayed here in March 2023. Our room was clean and spacious, large bathroom. Loved hearing the bells from the neighborhood cathedral through open windows. Plenty of restaurants and bars within walking distance. Hotel felt safe and staff was very pleasant and friendly. Loved Barcelona!

Visited for a few days prior to boarding a cruise liner. Thought the location would be great to visit old historic buildings. The smell of sewers and drains pervades the air in the foyer -the street is busy and looks derelect with graffiti everywhere. The room was very nice clean and well equipped. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The location is great, near everything. It looks quite clean too. However, the rooms are ridiculously small. You can not open your suitcase and walk around at the same time. No soundproofing AT ALL!! The side rooms are sooo noisy, as if there are no windows at all. Also, no heating... For the price not worth it ...never again...

The hotel staff were respectful and accommodating, the rooms were clean, and the checking in and out process was painless. There was a number of couches and seats on the same floor as the exercise room, in which we could relax comfortably. Thank you for the wonderful experience.

Nice hotel, good location near the naval area. we stayed in a group of 5 girls in the family suite. very spacious, clean. the receptionist at the night time was very kind and also the lady but the receptionist at the day time was a bit rude. my friend's phone was robbed and we went to the check in desk to ask some infos like where we can find a police station or who we should call to have some help. he seemed a bit annoyed by us. when we came back and checked out he didn't have the dignity to ask once how was the stay in the hotel or if we were ok after what happened. that's not how you treat your guests.

Amazing location, kind staff. Rooms small but efficient. However: Can be noisy in the evening/night (usually people chatting around bars)

This Hotel was in the best location, the beach, la rambla, restaurants bars, various sights, etc. all within walking distance! We stayed here in September and found the AC to be adequate, the bed to be comfortable, and the room had a spacious bathroom. Furthermore, we came back to a clean room every day. Thank you for hosting us!

The location is excellent! Walking distance to almost everything. However, walls feel a bit thin(bit of noise), and there's a bit of a stale scent in the hotel (could easily be remedied by opening some windows). I think that if you're going to be out most of the day, it's very well worth it! However, if you like to spend a lot of time inside the hotel, you shouldn't consider it. It's also right across the street from the famous Sensi tapas restaurant.

Situated in a super area. Beach, Bars, Restaurants all nearby. Hotel clean, simple..would be a little better of there had been a shell in the bathroom. But otherwise clean and staff friendly

It is a definitely good 3* hotel. We had a superior room with enough space and some issues - and whatever I asked was fixed. So my 5 rate goes totally to the staff. Though the hotel beds need updating (they are squeaky as my bad day).
