We arrived at noon, now it is 4pm, we already changed two rooms and got a refund. We arrived, waited three hours for check in only to get a room that we didn’t pay for! Also, in the room the window was not working and could not be closed. After complaining, they have changed our room and gave us a room with the view on the inside of the hotel, with no exterior window, or fresh air! Our window (1st floor) was looking at the reception, creepy!!! After complaining (again) they offered us a refund, at 4pm in Barcelona, no other hotel reserved whatsoever. Moreover, they are hiding bad reviews on Booking, pictures are either photoshopped or fake, the pool is way too tiny, no sun-beds, rooms are super small, etc. Also, there are multiple reviews that the people are getting robbed, and that stuff is disappearing from the rooms. Hotel staff does not care about that, at all. Please stay away from this hotel. The worst hotel experience so far.

Avoid this place, do not book. You will thank me. Quality price (july/august) one of the worst experience I’ve ever had. After staying back in 2018 and had overall a decent experience I sadly decided to come back few days. When I arrive nobody welcomed us the staff was cold and inattentive. They assign me a room with Internal view, couldn’t even open windows till my 4th day complain. The floor was broken, some areas bubbly, mostly like water infiltration, the room was humid and smelly. the room was overall shabby and old, bathroom didn’t work properly water wasn’t draining (also the other rooms) and there was no tool to clean the toilet. We booked 3 rooms for a week and they treat us horribly. Also the cleaning service didn’t show up for 3 days. (Someone said I didn’t want cleaning service, but I never said that). I ask 3000 times to get a better room (of the same category as my friends had) and no one ever in a single day moved me from that disgusting accommodation. At the reception they told me the hotel was sold out but it was just a big lie, as every day I spoke to the room service giving them a tip and they told me more than 30% of the hotel was unsold. I remember in all this uncomfortable situation that this hotel sell itself as a 4 superior, the service and the common areas look like damaged and cheap. The main pool area and rooftop that once were nice and good looking was full of drunk English people without any manners and respect for the others guests. (The rooftop bar staff is good). They mistake orders from the kitchen and one day they didn’t want to let us seat in the bar/restaurant of the ground level saying it was closed telling us to go order and seat at the rooftop. I just came back down from it because there was an event and all the rooftop area was reserved, also with 35 degrees and no shade they had the shame to insist that my girlfriend couldn’t eat at the ground level tables. I freak out and told that this was literally unacceptable to leave a guest under heavy sunlight and anyway without seats because of the event. The funny thing they told me is u can get room service (and eat like an animal in a shady smelly room) also some minutes later some people were consuming on the sofa and that was allowed. At the check out they told my friend all was cleared but suddenly they treat our girlfriends saying they were going to call police for an 80€ bill not paid, they held the girls in the hotel with security and didn’t let them leave. The bill was anyway paid by my friend 30 min later because it was his bill but associated to the wrong room number. (We ask to put all the orders in one room only). What disgusting staff treat customer like this in a hotel? I’ve never experienced such a bad stay all over the world even in a 2 star hotel. They need to be trained and hire professional staff because it look just like these people should have nothing to do with hotellerie. Right now I’m back in bcn in a beautiful 5 star steps from it and I can see it from the rooftop, getting back all the disappointment from that stay. If u need to spend 250/300€ a night I truly advice you to go elsewhere. It’s not worth the money and u will have an uncomfortable experience in a cheap damaged overrated hotel that wanna look cool. In Barcelona new hotels are opening every year updated to the best standards. They lost the chance to keep a loyal customer.

Stayed at the Negresco Princess for a few days while vacationing in Barcelona. The location is fabulous (walk and subway access to almost everything you may want to see) and the overall experience was good. My only pet peeve is that you are paying for a 4 star hotel (premium rates) but some of the service left a little to be desired. I got an email prior to check in about any items that I would like in the room so I requested some hair conditioner and body lotion as I had forgotten mine and asked if they maybe able to provide and they said no problem. Long story short, it was not stocked in the room which again not the end of the world. I did call reception for an iron and they seemed a bit ticked off and hurried me off the phone so I didn't ask for the rest. We paid for a superior room which was on the 1st floor, with no privacy due to facing residential buildings, the heat setting was in German and we had to use Google Lens to figure out how to use it. The sink drain did not work, the toilet seat cover was broken and the toilet door did not shut properly. For 4 star service, I'd expect at least a run through to be done to ensure everything in the room was in working order. That being said, the rain shower in the room was truly amazing with amazing pressure and water temperature and a stand out feature of the room! Again, nothing wrong with the overall stay - we were out most of the day so these were relatively small things - my advice would be don't pay as much for a 4 star when you could get about the same at a 3 star and save yourself some money.

Totally disappointed with our stay in an upgraded room at your hotel on the 14/08/2022 Two men in the next room were partying all night, laughing, talking very loudly, banging and bumping things and coming and going from midnight until 7am when we checked out with no regard for other occupants. The internal door between rooms is very thin and we could hear every word. It was completely disruptive to our stay at negresco and ruined for us what we were hoping would be a restful last night of our holiday. The rooftop pool, which should also have been a highlight was so highly chlorinated it made it unpleasant to be in and difficult to remove the smell even after several showers. Based on our experience I would be very reluctant to recommend your hotel to fellow travellers in the future. Small rooms with a nice aspect, bad sound proofing, crowded smelly pool.

We payed extra for a room with a city view but this street view is all we got. They told us when we arrived that this is the best view.. nothing like the pictures on booking. The room was cold and very simple , nothing like what we booked.

This was a very reasonably priced hotel central to nearly all major tourist attractions, most of the time we were able to walk to the places we wanted to go. It was clean and well managed with friendly staff who were helpful and accommodating refilling drinks on our way out. The rooms had a choice of room service or not for cleaning which was very efficient and a well stocked,included, mini fridge. The only slight thing is the room was a little cold in the evening. The pool had a great view and towels there encase you forgot your own. Finally we ate only once at the hotel but this meal was very good. A great all around hotel!

❎Only visited the rooftop bar but if you're wondering where to stay and this is a good location for you, based on our short experience stay at the Icon BCN just up the road ✅Nice setting, nice view- we came here as we wanted to visit a rooftop bar close to our hotel ❎Unfriendly in the hotel, felt like a burden for asking where the lift to the bar was ❎Slow service ❎Rather rude staff in the bar- non engaging, didn't seem happy ❎Saw a waiter pinch an olive from a customer's bowl before serving ❎Served us a very strange strawberry daiquiri! Granted they may have used fresh strawberries, but it was as if they just been mixed in a leisurely manner in a bowl with some rum without any blending or other ingredients! Struggled to finish and noticed the next table had also left theirs.

The worst hotel experience so far. I booked for a Superior room with City view. Payed extra for it. They gave me a basic room saying that is no other available and if I don’t like it i can anytime cancel may stay and leave other hotel, being charged for 1 night. This attitude!? I asked for the refund of “city view” extra. They said is not possible. I feel robbed, scammed. No slipperd in the room, mini bar very poor, no quality bath products, just 3 in 1 (hands,body and hair-all in one), no body lotion.

Perfect location. Poor food and breakfast. Poor insulated windows can hear everything. Entertainment available but able to hear clearly in your bed while sleeping- this is disruptive should be addressed. You should not be playing or entertsining people when all can hear from their rooms. People want to sleep in piece- hence the getaway break. It was a heated pool intially,started off hot but cooler over the days. Unacceptable. Disappointed overall. Drinks are far too expensive. Best to drink outside -half the price. Not sure i will be back. Find a place that goes all out and makes your stay comfortable and accommodating My worse stay and I'm a traveller of many places and 5*. X

The quality of the hotel was so bad we had to check out early and move to another one. No natural light in the rooms, buttons in the shower falling off, what looked like blood spatter all over the curtains, the design of the place means you can hear everyone in the lobby and anyone on the other floors and the smell of fish from the restaurant lingered for the days we stayed there. It's not accurate to describe it as a 4 star and at this price point there are plenty of better options.

I paid extra for a ‘superior room with a city view’ and was in a very basic room looking out at a building. One of the most basic hotel rooms I’ve stayed in. The shower door doesn’t close properly, resulting in the bathroom being wet every time you get out of the shower. The reception are not very helpful and the staff are not friendly, they seem very judgemental. I paid for a nicer room as it was for my boyfriends 21st birthday and we didn’t even get a city view. Booked it for the pool too, which is way smaller in person with not nearly enough seats for the size of the hotel. The pool was also ice cold. Windows in the room don’t even open and every time we came back into the room it was roasting and the heating was set onto 30 degrees? Cleaners are very unprofessional, they came barging into the room, didn’t even knock. My boyfriend was sick and was asleep and the other cleaner came in screaming if we need cleaning or not, which I said no to, and she continued to shout and ask again. Overall I am disappointed with this stay and definitely wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

Fantastic place to stay in Barcelona, really conveniently located and it is great to come home to at the end of the day. Superior room is spacious for 2 people - shower is huge with good water pressure and the bed is large and comfortable. Staff are nice and rooms are cleaned thoroughly. Would recommend to anyone!

This hotel is amazing ! The location is brilliant as most places we went to were within walking distance! The room was simplistic, but had everything we needed. It was exceptionally clean and tidy. The bed was comfortable which resulted in a great night sleep! The shower was the best I have ever used and the toothbrush + Shaving kit was a nice touch! The breakfast was amazing. There was a wide variety of food such as cooked foods, pastries, cold foods, as well as hot drinks. Along with the variety the quality is exceptional. The food really is delicious and I couldn’t have asked for anything more. The service was great. When we checked in staff were polite and clear with what we needed to do and where to go. Thank you for a lovely stay !!

Came home from the city with my girlfriend one evening to find a cake, candles, a card and 2 bottles of sparkling wine on the desk. Initially I assumed my girlfriend had planned this as it was my 21st, however we soon found out the cleaner had simply seen my birthday card on the side and had done it all himself on his own accord. Separately, the room was great. There’s a quiet pool on the rooftop right next to the bar that does good drinks and great food. Would definitely recommend.

Most hotels put a comforter in between two clean sheets. I felt like I was sleeping in a piece of plastic, with my own moisture dripping on me. I've never woke up more sweaty in my life. Can't even open the window that's sealed shut.

Wonderful stay at Negresso Princess. The location is fantastic. The rooms are well appointed and the rooftop bar is perfect for a cocktail, meal or delicious cafe. You can't beat the view of the city and the service was exemplary!

I loved everything about this hotel. The location was fantastic, I felt safe walking around, the room was very spacious. The hotel is very clean. The rooftop bar and pool were fabulous. I would stay here every time I come to Barcelona.

The location of the hotel is the best part. Rooftop bar makes excellent cocktails. We checked into a superior double city view room, but were quite disappointed when going to bed that it was two single beds put together with just a sheet. This led to us sliding down the middle between the two beds and not getting any sleep until the early hours. I called reception and they said that they cannot make any changes until the next day. It was not the kind of sleep we wanted for an anniversary trip. The next day we went downstairs to change room, we upgraded to a terrace room for an extra €40 which was nice, but the main thing being we had a proper bed. The mini bar is a nice touch. Lydia was lovely and helpful on check in and changing rooms.

Loved the room! Was clean and comfortable. Liked being able to adjust room temperature . Enjoyed the separateness of the shower, sink and toilet. Appreciated the free cold drinks in the minibar. Breakfast had all we could hope for and the breakfast staff were very helpful. Front desk staff were very helpful, especially Viviana. My husband has mobility issues and everyone was kind and respectful. The location was great. We walked to many places from the hotel or took a cab from our front door. One evening we enjoyed drinks and dessert on the rooftop terrace which was lovely.

Loved this hotel. Will stay again next time we are in Barcelona. Greeted with Cava on arrival and stayed for dinner to a live piano player that evening. Really lovely experience. Rooms were clean and spacious. Very impressed with the dinner. We weren't sure what to expect reading the menu but everything was delicious!

We stayed here for a couple of nights over the Christmas break. Great little stop off in an amazing location. Really helpful staff and lovely vibes everywhere we went. We fell in love with Barcelona and can't wait to visit again.

The hotel is beautiful, the staff were friendly and welcoming. Requests I made were facilitated, rooms were gorgeous, spacious and the whole ambiance was great. Many eateries nearby, metro station minutes away, and in a lively neighbourhood. 100% recommend, I'd definitely stay here again.

The Hotel is very nice, the location is perfect, very close to the city centre, aerobus station, supermarket, restaurants, bars&pubs etc. The rooms were clean and cozy, being cleaned everyday. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was awesome, various and always refilled during the breakfast hours. They had live music nights and brunches. The pool& terrace on the rooftop were amazing, even in february you could stay a little bit in the pool (the water is heated). The only thing we did not like was the fact that some towels were stained and that was uncomfy. However, i would recommend it and come back to this hotel always. :)

My wife and I stayed here from 6th to 13th December and I must say that we had a wonderful time as part of our 40th wedding anniversary celebrations. The location is great convenient for walking to all attractions and surrounded closely by many bars and restaurants meaning we didn't have to venture too far in the evening. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice of hot or cold food. The staff at breakfast were always cheerful and friendly. We ate in the bar on our first night as we only arrived at 9.00 pm and this too was very good. All the bar staff were also very friendly. I would have no hesitation to recommend this hotel to anyone thinking of booking it and we hope to be able to return in March with our daughter. Keep up the good work

Very nice hotel in great location with excellent facilities. However, the breakfast place can be improved since there is no windows and light from outside.

A little faded and in need of some TLC and competent cleaners. My room at the front was noisy but the bed was very comfortable and the shower was incredible. The passage way was carpeted with black carpet and it looked as if it had never been vacuumed

The hotel is noisy (you ear very well all the rooms around you). Funny enough for a hotel, the pillows are very bad, and they cannot provide larger/better ones. I hope the room comes with a neck massage then. Did not appreciate the reception staff/ service ; in my opinion, they are not friendly nor acommodating :( Unfortunately, we are very disappointed and don’t recommend it at all.

The hotel is perfectly situated in the city center so we could reach everything nicely within Walking distance. Friendly bar staff and excellent cocktails on the rooftop bar with a stunning view and a little pool to have a afternoon splash in the refreshing water.

nice hotel on a good place with a great terrace, rooms are tidy, beds are comfortable, perfect shower, but the breakfast? not worth a 4star hotel, rather a 1star, scrambled eggs made from powder? never more…

Pros - very central, amazing comfy bedroom and shower, welcome drink on arrival, the pool is quite nice and the view from the terrace is good Cons - the “city view” rooms are just street view rooms, so it’s up to you if that’s something you want to pay more for, the pool is very small (recommends no more than 12 people at a time), the terrace bar is often closed and the restaurant is currently half closed, the corridors are filthy Major problem - we had stuff stolen from our room and when we reported it we were told that they didn’t believe us and that there was nothing they could do. Made the rest of our stay incredibly uncomfortable and looking at other reviewers we are not the first. I’d recommend staying somewhere that doesn’t make a habit of stealing from guests rooms All in all the actual hotel is good just the staff are not nice and it can make for quite an uncomfortable experience

A nice hotel well located near taxi stand and metro. Beds are huge and showers are great. WIFI is poor unless you are willing to pay €6 per day which I have never come across before. You also cannot charge to your room for some reason which I found very strange.

Great location, nice view from the rooftop! The rooms are nice, with a big bed and cool showers! The AC system is very silent. Very clean rooms! The only part we disliked was the echo from inside the building, there is very much noise coming from the lobby and the restaurant as there is an open space between groundfloor and the terrace. But we asked for a silent room in another part of the hotel and we solved the problem. We liked the place!

Negresco Princess is in a prime location near a major transit hub and shopping. My room has a bright window and tiles floor. The hotel staffs are professional and friendly. They go above and beyond to answer traveler question. I recommend this hotel.

It’s more like a 3-star hotel more than 4-star. The best things are the location and the top terrace; otherwise, nothing. The bathroom door does not close, and the iron you have to ask for it…poor mini bar. However, the shower is great. Not recommended if you are looking for a 4-star hotel….disappointed.

Wonderful stay - ‘girls trip’. Triple room - Third bed was a pull out / camper bed but it was comfortable. The AC in this room was glorious!!!!! Loved the robes and slippers. So nice to come back to after a day exploring in the hot summer sun. Friendly and quick check in - enjoyed the complementary prosecco, thank you! Excellent location - lots of bars / restaurants and shops within walking distance. About an 8 min walk from Plaza Catalunya. Ideal! Would have preferred some more privacy around the shower / sink / toilet area.

Super hotel with great design, friendly staff, good location, lovely roof terrace, nice views, lovely rooms, nice bar, little pool, etc. Only one star off for the breakfast (decor of room, food at buffet) which is pretty grim - not in keeping with rest at all

Worst hotel service ever in the world, the girls in the reception are the worst and not helpful, they need to be trained how to deal with costumers, bathroom was not clean, house keepers open room doors even with a sign do not disturb while i am changing my clothes, they said no bellboy in the property but there were two of them at the time of check-in and no one wants to help us in our many luggages from the room to the door even the one at the door don’t want to open the door for us but he open the door for everyone else.. the only good thing about this hotel is the location.
