A decent and comfortable hostel in a good location w/ free breakfast (white toast, cereal, tea, coffee). Cleanliness is okay, not the best but not the worst I’ve seen. The hostel is relatively small and had 3 toilets and 6 showers on our floor (3 in women’s only, 3 in mixed bathroom). Rooms and bed were large and had locks w/ the keys provided. The AC was a nice bonus. On the first day, we didn’t have blankets, only blanket covers. But service was good and provided us with blankets the second day when we asked about it. The hostel was also very active. When we were there, they were hosting a karaoke night in the common area and later went out to the bars.

Pros: free towel, free lock for things, and good location that was central to Barcelona. Cons: too many to name. The check in is online which may seem convenient but keys are sent via link so ANYONE with that link can get not only into the hostel but into the room which seems like a safety hazard to me. The cleanliness of the place was atrocious, bathroom counters never wiped down and bathroom often out of toilet paper. I stayed for 4 nights and during that entire time they had handymen coming in and painting the bathrooms and doors which meant I was sleeping amongst paint fumes. They offer a free breakfast, which includes coffee, tea, cereal, and toast. However the coffee was gray and tasted funky, had to throw it out after one sip. They say they have a laundry service, that is a lie, they do not and will tell you to go down the street. Worst of all, they say their cleaning hours are from 12-2:30pm it’s posted everywhere around the hostel. However, EVERY single morning of my stay, maids would come in between 9:30/10am and aggressively sweep and turn on all the lights in the room and wake everyone up. I did not get a single good nights sleep the entire time I was there. Additionally you have to get your own bedding from check in and then bring it down yourself to check out. Staff was incredibly rude when all these issues were brought up and told us to stay somewhere else if we were unhappy, when we told them there was nowhere else to stay they essentially told us too bad.

Positive: very nice staff, location is good Negative: the facilities are all very old, a lot is broken, there was probably no renovation done in the last decades. 10 beds in a room of approx 18 square meters, my socket was broken, room was super cold (except when they randomly turned on heating, then it was a Sauna until it got cold again). No real sheets for the blanket but just a cloth, hygenical questionable. The lockers are super loud, when touching those you have no choice but to wake up the whole room. The street is loud as well. Bathroom is quite disgusting, some mould on the showers. There was mostly only cold water and the shower runs for exactly 15 seconds until you have to push the button again. I have stayed in many Hostels in Barcelona with similar high ratings but this one is a different world, many leagues below the others. Don't know how they got this rating but must be due to the staff who are all very lovely - such a shame that apparently none of the revenue is used to do the urgent renovations.

The staff here are very great hosts! Every interaction with them was very pleasant and they're the reason I'm not giving this hostel 1 star. Super friendly people. Despite all the other problems with this hostel, the staff were great. Despite advertising AC, this hostel does not have working AC, and the vents do not circulate air. To make matters worse, both windows in the room open to either the stairwell or to an insulated and roofed-off courtyard thing so the room gets no fresh air. Our room was consistently above room temperature and pretty much nobody in our group was able to sleep because it was too hot and stuffy. One might think to go sleep on a couch in the common space, but then they'd find the couches are already occupied by other travelers with the same issue. During our stay the men's bathroom on the top floor was left clogged for 2 days, which is unsanitary and inconvenient. Soap dispensers were also always empty. They play music in the bathrooms during the day, which is nice except for when you'd like to sleep in because the "windows" in the room open up to the stairwell so the music wakes you up. A person in my room noticed small ants in his locker (locker 5 of room 204). With proper habitable airflow and better bathroom housekeeping this would be a great hostel but until those are fixed I can't recommend you stay here.

Amazing experience for my first hostel experience. Everybody is kind and friendly. There are some activities to meet with the other travelers. Beds and toilets are clean and location is very close to the must-see places. Also they serve free breakfast and coffee. Thank you for all the services.

I loved staying here! I was a solo traveler and i left barcelona with many new friends i met at this hostel! The staff are incredible, friendly, and accommodating . The hostel is in close walking distance to many things, and close to train/bus lines that will take you anywhere.

It was a nice experience, knowing that it is my first experience in a hostel. The staff is very friendly, and the breakfast is very good compared to the price. The bathrooms are spacious and clean. All the necessary cooking equipment is available in the kitchen .. There is no doubt that I will return if I come to Barcelona

During my time at mediterranean youth hostel, the rooms were lovely and the other guests were friendly. The only downfall to our stay was when I woke up to a missing purse and found it in the bottom of the house keeper’s garbage. Keep in mind, the only reason I found it, was due to an apple AirTag I had put inside it prior. The house keepers come in every morning to take out the garbage. When asked about the purse, the house keeper stated she hadn’t seen it, then told the front desk the reason she looked in the garbage was because she remembered putting a black purse in there. She had told front desk she found it in the washroom (I do not bring my purse to the washroom). When explaining the situation to front desk, he explained she had already talked to him about it. Let’s just say our stories did not add up… Other than this, great stay👍🏻

Thank you so much for having us! We stayed three nights and we were absolutely happy with our choice. Check-in was already really friendly, we got a link for opening main and dorm doors which is something I never tried before and it is really convenient as you don't have to worry about losing a key oder a card. The hostel has many shared areas such as a dining room, a kitchen, a room to play pool or ping pong in, a living room with a TV and books and a terrace. There was also a different activity to join almost every night for example Paella or pasta night (u can eat for free) or Beer Pong or Karaoke night. Breakfast was also included with free tea, coffee and cereal. Food and drinks were also always vegetarian + vegan friendly (oat and soy milk available for breakfast for example). It's a 10-15 minute walk to Las Ramblas/ downtown. I will definitely come again!

Very easy check in/out. There is always someone you can talk to. Besides that, I stayed in two different 10 dorm rooms. You get fresh sheets which u need to do by yourself. Bathroom was cleaned almost daily as I can remember and the rooms where fully booked. Ofc you always have snoring people or someone who just don’t care if you wake up or not, it’s a hostel! But it was clean enough. Just take a sleeping mask and something for your ears. :) easy to get home at night with the night bus. Nothing got stolen and they also have free coffee/tee and a kitchen. 👍🏻

A great place to stay. We had so much fun. The people were friendly and helped us with everything. The place was beautiful and the free pasta and beer pong night just rocked.

I thought my experience here was good. The staff is friendly and informative about the area! However the first day I was their I had booked a bed for four nights. The day of my arrival they said the policy was 72 hours for cancelations. I had left the hostel early because they couldn't accommodate both my friend and I staying in the same room. They did give me. Refund for the final night but two days were not. The spaces are clean enough. The dinning hall area can seat around 12 people if you want to use this space get their early it fulls up fast at night. The TV room was nice, and I enjoyed sitting on the couch and painting. Out of control of the hostel was guest Body order the 6bunk room was stale of old sweat. I think adding an air freshener would be worth while it was almost unbearable. Finally I thought the room codes were a bit ridiculous, you can download an app to quicken this process. However if you don't you will need to enter in a xxx-xxxx-xxx 10 digit code each time. Which encouraged guest not closing the door fully because remember the code and or not leaving your phone in the room could be a costly mistake.

Great place, really friendly staff and great people, have something on most nights, and if they don't they are very accommodating to organise it. Facilities were always very clean and check in and out was quick and simple.

Amazing hostel for the price! It is clean and tidy and you have a locker under the bed to keep your stuff. It's a good place to get to know people. Mondays there is free beer pong, there is always free coffee and tea and one can have delicious dinner for 6€. I'd recommend it!

Probably the best hostel I’ve ever stayed in. I think this is what the hostel experience is all about. The staff feels more like friends or family than anything else. Especially Vinnie, what a guy!

Staff were nice and the location is really good! I met a lot of nice people and I had fun. They cook cheap and yummy dinner and do social events each night :)) However, the facilities were not good. Bathroom was basic, often there was no toilet paper and only one toilet. My room smelled funny and we had no air con. The showers didn’t have hot water (which was fine because I was too hot anyways). Could definitely be improved.

Such an amazing place to stay in when you're in Barcelona! Everyone working there has been super nice and trying to help out whenever they could. Make sure to join the evening dinners, such good food and a great atmosphere. Thanks to Anthony, Monika, Juan and Alu for making my stay the best and thanks to Misha, Corbin and Astrid for the great food! Hope to come back soon!

Very safe for female travelers, very clean, and open reception 24/7. Super close to metro and main attractions. Only gripe is the air conditioning wasn’t fixed the entire weekend

Amazing hostel with amazing staff. I forget the name of the lovely women who greeted us. She was so energetic and friendly and she really set the tone for the trip. All the standard facilities were great and clean. But the real standout is the staff and the vibe they created within the title. Anthony was another brilliant standout. On my 2nd day at the hostel he got everyone involved in some games and really made the night. From then on the hostel was abuzz with a fun energy! 10/10

This hostel was so much fun! Great people and great location especially for the price. The city is so walkable from this location and there is 24/7 reception so they’re always giving recommendations. The only thing was the A/C was broken for half the nights but it was fixed for the other half. Great time and great people!

Stayed for 5 nights at this wonderful hostel. The staff were very welcoming, had excellent local knowledge, and were always around for a chat. The location is really convenient for walking or buses/metro and the layout of the hostel makes it really easy to chat with other residents. The bathrooms are basic but always clean. The social areas are great and and the meals provided by the hostel were fantastic and a great way to meet people. Would not hesitate to stay here again!

The woman at the front desk was really nice and had lots of good recommendations and is really one of the only reasons I’m giving this place so many stars. The room itself was not super clean and the bathroom smelled quite bad even right after cleaning. The bathroom was gross in general, the floors were dirty and faucet looked gross. They also cleaned the bathroom every morning right when people were getting up and trying to get ready which was frustrating to have the bathroom closed. Some of the outlets in the room didn’t work and the beds were really noisy anytime you moved so it made it hard to get a good nights sleep. There weren’t ladders in the room so the person climbing on the top bunk almost kicked me trying to get into bed. You could hear everything going on in the hallway as well as an obnoxious unidentified beeping. The website says they have ceiling fans, elevator, and access to a washer/dryer but there was none of those things. The aircon didn’t work great either. Was especially frustrated about the laundry since that was a big reason we booked this hostel.
