It’s a good place for those, who need a room in a city center, who need a little kitchen and terrace for cozy breakfasts. It’s not for you if you are searching a big room with a modern design, but if you need a normal place to stay for nights, so this is it! Also You’ll faced with very friendly personal here. Under the hostel there is a 0-24 market. We were happy to be here, this place has a Spanish spirit!

Visited a few hostels in this area and this was my favourite. Ideal location close to the main attractions but not too close as to be surrounded by overpriced poor value restaurants etc. I stayed in a price double room was clean and really good value. It was quiet too, more like a hostel/hotel which suited me. Great place if you want to just relax and not spend too much!

My stay was very enjoyable. The staff is super nice and they let us leave our heavy bags in the hostel before the check in. The terrace is pleasant. You can't use kitchen and terrace at night time, but it's only for sake of calmness, safety and cleanliness. The price is wonderful for Barcelone, you won´t be able to find something this cheap and comfortable. The location is amazing, we haven´t used any public transport the entire stay and also there is a wonderful market with fresh fruits and seafood 2 blocks away.

Overall, Paraiso Hostel is good to stay. i recommend that room prices are high, but the great value of money staff is very cooperative 24-hour service available

Had a very nice stay at paraiso. You really get what you pay for. They clean everyday, the living room and terrace were nice as well. Also the kitchen was well equipped. The rooms where big, good amount of beds in there. The taff was very friendly! They could install some "Please turn off the lights stickers" in the kitchen, the light was on there almost all the time because no one turned it off.

The location is really nice, they have 24h reception. Both the matress and the pillow were super comfortable. It was good I don't mind noises when I sleep, because the street were my window was, was extremely noisy, even at 3am on a week day. The wifi was having connection problems all the time, don't know if it was due to a lot of users. As tap water tastes horrible in Barcelona, I would have appreciated a water fountain or something, as I come from Sweden I'm not used to buy water, and I had a bad time during night as there was not water to drink. In general it was ok for a short stay.

Really great hostel with great service. The twin rooms we were in was really nice and even had a terrace! There's also a really great pizzeria(30s walk),donut shop nearby(3 min), supermarket(5s) and a bakery (10s)!

Stay away from here. Don't compromise your comfort because of the location. From the dirty rooms to the bad staff. To no AC and really hot rooms, you will have a hard time sleeping and this will affect your next day. You have been warned.

As an unpretentious couple who cares of a good location close to the city center, we couldn't choose a better place. The hostel is for a good price, has a 24 hour reception which is really good and the staff was always polite and helpfull. The disadvantage, which can be overcome for a short stay, is the equipment of the rooms, which is very poor. The walls are very thin, so you can hear everything from the neighbooring rooms. There is a manual fan in the room, but it didn't help much on hot nights because it was very noisy.

Very good experience. Staff was very helpful and friendly, my room was okay for the price, and clean (bit of dust but didn't bother me), shared bathroom was good too, pretty living room area, well situated. The door downstairs can look a bit creepy at first, but it's a safe, normal building, the hostel is immediately right there up the stairs, I'd definitely go back.

In my opinion, it’s just suitable for connect airport commute so one night stay enough. Stairs very narrow and the hostel indoor passage also not wide space for big backpacks, kitchen pretty small and not much equipments; the bathrooms and toilets are separated around hostel which really strange; my bed quite noisy when I moved my body . The hostel not close center have to take a while walking.

Superb location and friendly staff. 24 hour reception gives added security. Appreciate it is a hostel and paid 85 quid a night for private room but bathroom was dirty, mattress incredibly warm and walls paper thin. TV was in Spanish only FYI. Owners should invest in improving standard but seemingly little motivation as always demand given location, can easily walk to beach, gothic quarter, near airport bus stop and amazing local indoor market.

Mattress was good and plenty of hot water in the shower. Other than that I'd say no thank you. Staff were pleasant and helpfull. Room felt like a temporary shelter made from pvc panels. Laminate flooring was all split and badly needed replacing. No light in the passage way between the main building and terrace leading to our room. Lots of little steps and places to trip. Room and bathroom locks felt flimsy and would easily break with a bit of force. Not somewhere we'd return to, love Barcelona but not this hostel.

Walked in and the room smelled like seafood and the smell stayed like that the entire 3 nights. Room was also always so hot, even when it wasn’t super hot outside and the hallway was 10x colder than the room. No bathroom in the room, but the bathrooms were nice

Hostel is in a good location, rooms were clean and tidy upon arrival. Initial check in went well and receptionist was helpful and informative, told us they were having WiFi problems and gave us an alternate router to log in to. Sadly that is the end of the positives; Subsequent receptionists denied any WiFi problem and the existance of the router we had previously logged in to meaning no Internet for the duration of the stay. Bins and room were untouched by cleaning during our stay. Sadly, the main issue is the staff; After our initial interaction we were left wanting by the staff in every way possible. We were blatantly lied to about WiFi issues (other receptionists all denied having any issue with WiFi until I clarified I had already been informed of as much), treated rudely and without respect. As an example... It was not uncommon to be left waiting outside for an inordinate amount of time after having pressed the buzzer for access, 5 minutes or more of standing on the street. On two seperate occasions a resident actually got off his seat, walked across the street and opened the door before reception had managed to move their finger over the button immediately in front of them. We were told rather than asked that a maintenance engineer would be carrying out a repair in our room, and sure enough... He opened the door without even a knock as my partner and I were led in bed. This is another issue, the locks are not Yale type; Not an issue in and of itself however when you consider there is no air conditioning thus windows must be left open, and it's very easy to climb between rooms... Your property is not safe. Final point being the "secure bike lock up" is not at all secure... It's a locked room downstairs, but whenever I asked for access to remove my bike I was simply provided the key and allowed to go down unsupervised, meaning I could very easily have left with any bike I so wished. I'm summary, a hostel with alot of promise, likely to go to utter waste whilst under current management. Not at all secure and poor customer service... Would not reccoment nor rebook.

Hostal in a convenient location. Part of a very old apartment building. We shared three rooms with a kitchen dining area and living area and bathroom. Would have loved to stay longer but there were no rooms available and there was no air conditioning so it was very hot in the summer. It was a great experience in an old city to be in a very old building. There was a lift which was very small but still I was able to fit in the lift with my small wheelchair. My

The only issue I had was came back to my room one day to find my bed had been taken, it was just a minor admin error and wasn't an issue at all but could've been annoying if wasn't back until late. It's a nice place though, not the best hostel but good for the money and have nothing really to complain about.
