While we did not have a problem with it, it might bother very light sleepers. Overall this is a great hostel for a short stay (we booked for only 1 night). Room was tiny, but functional (bed, sink, and bedside tables in room -- had to go outside the room and down a hall for a toilet/shower). I would have preferred more bathrooms in this hostel, but the staff was very kind and informative, and the terrace was nice and right outside our room.
