First let me tell you for dropping your luggage you need to pay here - they even have three different sizes for this which cost either 3, 5 or 8€… and this includes only the storage allowance on the day you pay until 23:59 the same day. Next point: we arrived in the early morning hours and the staff was unfriendly, because we didn’t pay for that night which is ridiculous- let this please be the travellers choice- but i get the frustration when you mostly run a hostel to generate money instead of providing a good place for travellers to feel calm and nice. We later discussed this for a bit and they apologised. The room and other facilities were all alright and they have a big terrace where you can relax.

The rooms are crowded and almost always noisy. The staff is not really kind and helpful (for some, only if you're a good looking girl). Everything is charged extra - towels, luggage storage, using the pool table... The location is nice but I would pay Abit more to get a nicer experience.

Hola Hostel is a pretty fine hostel. I booked it for my first night in Barcelona and it also was my first hostel experience. The rooms and the lockers are nice and they have a chill terrace which they unfortunately close at around 9.30. The supermarket is at the other side of the street so this was very fine for buying food and beer. At the one evening I was there we sat in front of the hostel and just talked to each other and had lots of fun. It's quite nice to meet a few people and have a good time :-)

Great hostel for Interrailing. Good Aircon in room and sometimes in ground floor common area. Also has first floor common area with pool table and table football and other tables and 2 computers and massive roof terrace, but both of these floors often too hot to use in summer. Laundry with 2 machines and 1 drier. Looks like domestic machines using a quick wash (25-35mins) so not entirely sure if it is a good wash, but others report all fine, except drier not that good. We used an air-conditioned laundry/bar 2 streets away where you have new commercial machines (30mins but designed for this time, with lovely food, drinks and beer). Showers and toilets and wash basins all out of the room, but clean and lots of them. Kitchen ok, no oven, 6 hobs, 2 microwaves, 1 large (and very full) fridges. 2 sinks. No free breakfast of any kind including no free drinks. Cold beer (cans) on sale at reception €2. Towels €3. WiFi good. Beds are cabins type, with light (sometimes too bright and too hot), and electric plug {no usb}). Air con left on in rooms during day so can use. Sometimes turned down at night so it can get hot. Ground floor common area Aircon often on low during day so can also be too hot. Electronic card controlled locker and main door and dorm door entry. No padlocks needed. Large lockers, but not big enough for hard luggage. Can't cook between 11pm and 7am. Common area sometimes closed in the early morning, but can be extremely noisy (our first 2 nights) til maybe 2am from common area (ear plugs and mask recommended). Dorm lights on automatic and switch off at about 11.30pm and on about 8am (or something like that). Machines in common area for snacks and drinks and hot drinks but supermarket directly opposite and many in area. Final recommendation buffet sushi place 3 streets away €15.50 night about €11 in day, no drinks included, air con, can order from picture menu and just keep ordering and keep ordering until you are very full! Have to order at least 1 drink. Relaxed and great. 50mins walk (or take 1 bus €2.40, just swipe your bank card or phone) to magic fountain. Feels safe.

I spent 3 nights in a 14-bed dorm. I quite liked this hostel: very well located, you can easily do a lot on foot. The guy at the reception was very kind and had great music tastes, I enjoyed the atmosphere while he was there! The common area is pleasant, you have lots of tables and places to either eat on your own or share with people, and sofas to relax. The kitchen is big so you can easily cook and store your food. I felt less enthusiastic about the dorm. Of course in a 14 bed dorm you do not expect to sleep well (with people coming late, leaving early, snoring, laughing, coughing…), so be prepared if you try the 24-bed dorm! Dorms were not so bad as they had lockers for each bed and all beds had curtains and their own light and plug. However I wish they could ventilate it better or open the windows from times to times, as it smelt quite musty. Bathrooms also did not seem to have a good ventilation system. They organized events directly at the hostel such as salsa initiations, sangria classes (with great teachers who came specially to do the classes) which is a nice initiative! (Maybe you could communicate more on it so that everybody would know something will take place?). I have had a nice time, I just couldn’t sleep well but I enjoyed my stay anyway!

The location is great, the priva y in the room is advanced because every bed has a cover, you can close it and stay inside with less light too. Every bed has a small locker where to put inside your bag and it is enough even for 2 small bags. You have to open it with the key provided by the reception, is like a credit card, with that you have access to the hostel and to the room. Here you don't need to have your personal looker and in my opinion is a safe place. Beside this there is a huge terrace, even is not panoramic is on the center of many buildings and it is nice and relaxing to pass some time there reading a book or just talking with new friends. The place is very clean, the bed are solid and don't move a lot, easy to go up to the first floor bed. The kitchen is open until one certain hour but you can handle your food inside the fridge 24/7 and this is amazing. You can get your drink even at 5am cold if you are thirsty. Showers are huge, just a bit better if the shower can be directly a bit more far, but I promoted it. There is a tool to be pressed every 30 seconds due to don't waste water. The hostel organise different activities and they rent a bike too, I don't know about the price. A bit pricey but of course on Barcellona/ Barcelona is all expensive and this Hostal is not the more expensive. I can tell that is a great relation price/quality. Towel is u der rental at 3 euro each. Good deal so you don't need to get yours and save place on the bag. Is 500 meters from the underground station where you can get your dayly card ticket to travel Barcelona called "hola Barcelona" that advise you to get for your journey. Workers are very cool and they are there to answer all your questions, needs and fix problems. There are some automatic machine for cold/ hot drink too next to the kitchen. Almost in front there is a market where you can get all you need and close at 11pm. The market is not pricey and there is almost all. If the first WiFi you get doesn't work ask for the second one, that is not displayed for the connection. The first one was not working at all.

This was my second time here. Got into a silly argument with one of the staff only because he misheard me while asking for some small change for the laundry. He insisted that I was wrong which in the end I had to let it go. I mean, the argument was really unnecessary, and he needs to be more professional. The rest of the staff are kindly and helpful. Kitchen is available but the utensils need to be replaced. Bed is comfortable. Light will auto switch off at 11 PM and turn back on at 9 AM, which is a hassle for me. Overall is good but it could have been better. Never again.

The Big room Only had a room, it was stinky the whole night. If you sleep Next to the closets, you will be woken UP every 10 minutes. Also the shower pipes have never Ben cleaned. The rest was fine.seemed quite decent.

  • 1/5 Olli G. 10 months ago on Google
Let’s start with rooms: dark, unclean, old and people are talking loudly in the rooms evening after silence time (the staff should advice people more clearly to have calls et. loud discussions in the common areas). Also we had to put the sheets by ourselves and no towel provided. Kitchen was very dirty ad well (microwave looked like it hadn’t been cleaned for years) and the fridges were too stacked up. Shower was ok when it comes to cleanliness but there was no place to put your clothes during the shower, and also showers didn’t work properly. Service ok and apparently it’s 247. It seemed easy to socialize also with people in the hostel even though I didn’t do that as I was travelling with my partner. Hostel also had many kind of extra services. Location was excellent but the price was also quite high (44€ for a night in 24-person room).

This is very modular place who provides bunk bed and locker in 12 or 24 in a room. Bed and pillow covers are provided which is good. Shared Bathroom and shower. Have kitchen place to cook and eat. Location is fine Note you need to pay city tax per person at the place even though you booked online

When reserving, we were told that our room would have a private bathroom. They ended up switching it up on us and giving us a room with no private bathroom.

Great price for a spacious big hostel! We stayed for 5 days. The 24 bed dorm was much better than I expected - yes, I would definitely recommend earplugs but it had a plug and a light, and importantly a curtain for privacy! There are keycard controlled lockers for each bed and there is access to a kitchen (which isn’t always the case in Barcelona!). The location is also pretty central - we walked everywhere.

The hostel is spotless, guys from the reception were welcoming. You can have paella, sangria, salsa lessons... depending on the day of the week. The location was a good starting point for sightseeing the city. I have enjoyed Barcelona 😊

The receptionists are very rude. The person whose photo I attached greeted me and was terribly rude. The rooms were dirty and stuffy. The bathroom was very dirty and unhygienic. She didn't help me with my room, she expected me to speak Spanish but I don't have to. If she is working in this job, she has to know a little. It was a horrible experience for me. I started to stay at my friend's friend's house, hola hostel is my nightmare in Barcelona. I'll never, ever stay here again.

I was here for a week and it was a great place. Conveniently located in a safe and beautiful neighbourhood. Receptionists were helpful for the travels to many places and they even had coupons for many attractions. Sagrada is also in walking distance. Bathrooms were clean, only thing is that they have the punching taps which closes by itself after couple of seconds. But the rooms and facilities for the price was amazing with keycard accesses to everything you are assigned with. Large common area, terrace and kitchen with free tee and coffee. I stayed in 3 hostels after this one, this is definitely my top 2 if not the best. They even have curtains to each bed, so privacy. Amazing. Shout out to Jonathan and other staffs!!!

I stayed for 4 days, I had great experience from beginning to the end. Person on front desk Matteo, been very helpful. He arranged city tour for me, pointed in right direction to get around city, place to eat, pharmacy etc. Location is fantastic, affordable and reliable. I would highly recommend for everyone. Location is great, nice clean room, lobby kitchen has everything.

Be aware there's a safety deposit to pay for. Beds are hard, rooms not super clean. But the apartment is in a good location

Excellent hostel near the Estacion de Nord train/bus station (and near 2 metro stations as well) that I would give 4 1/2 stars. Very good customer service at the front desks (most of the employees at the front desk speak very good English if you do not speak Spanish), beds were very comfortable with curtains for privacy in clean rooms (rooms were a bit small but that is pretty normal for most hostels) and free lockers are provided. There is a kitchen for cooking (the discount supermarket Aldi is about a 1 minute walk from the hostel), a small workout room, a terrace level above the main level with a ping pong table, luggage room, bikes to rent, a laundry room, wi-fi that works well and desktop computers that are free to use. The hostel is in very good location close to city center and the main attractions (you can walk to the Sagrada Familia in about 12 minutes from the hostel). Small negatives are no free breakfast and not as many events for travelers as other hostels. Overall, this place is excellent for budget travelers and i would definitively stay here again.

The staff were super nice and the location was good. But the bathrooms were dirty especially the showers, the rooms were super hot and smelly. Had some things stolen, didn't feel very safe.

my room was near the kitchen, so when there was crowd there, all the noises were heard in my room. the light in the room is automatic, turns on all the time when someone enters, only off after midnight until 7 am. the light turns off in the toilettte after 15 sec, you have to press for more showering at every 120 seconds. hidden costs: 3 eur to rent a towel, 3 eur for luggage storage if your flight is later. the location of the hostel is not in Eixample area, it is nearby Sagrada Familia and Arc du Triumph which are part of the municipality Eixample, so you are far by 25-min walking from Placa de Catalunya. the price for one night stay is too high.

The custumer service is awful. They cancel my reseevation and then they want me apologize. Is not that clean anyways, the main bathroom is a mess.

I was only here for two nights, and did not utilize everything, but the check in process was easy. I really enjoyed the 24-hr check in. The room has other people, but you have privacy and I slept well. When our locker broke there was a small struggle, but the staff worked well to help us. I was worried about checking out, but it took me 30 seconds. It was a nice place to stay.

Well, I’ve been there for 5 days, it was good but not the best.. there is no heating system in rooms and it was cold in the night , Water flow stops after 30 seconds in showers and bathrooms and u have to turn it on again which is annoying The good things you will have locker with lock and u get a privacy in your bed. Also, you will meet nice people working there

  • 4/5 Digital N. 2 years ago on Google
The lack of fresh air really sucked - there are literally no windows that can be opened to get fresh air. Instead, the entire hostel (common areas and dorms) relies on a ventilation system, and it did NOT work well, especially in my dorm, where the air was too warm and stale all night. Other than that, it's a good hostel, especially for students and digital nomads, with heaps of tables with power points and good wifi.

I stayed in it for 6 days and it was amazing The A/C works so good especially during the heat of spain The hostel was clean and well maintained and the staff was great And its located close to the arc of triumph Totally recommended!!! 🇪🇸🇪🇸❤️❤️

Good place. Good staff. Clean. Prices are also really good. Location is easy too. Wheelchair accessible. Even in the 24 bed dormitory, I had my privacy. They provide the new sheets and pillow covers. You have your own locker as well (all operated by the key card). The kitchen is also good, accessible and clean. You can cook and enjoy with other internationals there. The staff provide good recommendations. Toilets and washrooms were clean also. You can have variety of products as well but can bring own as well. Recommended !

Very clean hostel, great environment for meeting new people! Affordable and short distance from Sagrada Familia :) Two convenience shops opposite the hostel and a cosy cafe round the corner.

  • 4/5 Mariko K. 1 year ago on Google
Stayed there for about a week. The facility was overall relatively clean and is in a very convenient location. The price is good. The lounge has a kitchen that comes with all the utensils that you need which was quite handy. The staffs are friendly and helpful. Some of the minor downsides are that the shower room smelled like pee and the toilet didn’t flush well. Also, if you’re looking for a hostel with a lot of activities available, this not be the best hostel as I only saw two activities (they have free walking tours offered by a third party everyday which I definitely recommend joining!) taken place within a week and not many people seemed to have interacted with each other unless they come with friends. Overall no major complaints for the price.

This August my two friends and I decided to spend our 5 days of holiday in Barcelona at Hola hostal eixample. I must say that our stay was rather pleasant and we don't have much to complain about. First of all the hostel is situated in a very nice neighborhood, close to a lot of the main attractions of the city, which are easy to reach both by walking and with public transportation. There are also a lot of supermarkets and restaurants close to the hostel, which comes in handy. About the inside, the common areas are quite big and spacious, the kitchen and the bathrooms are rather clean. The staff actually keeps the place really clean and tidy, cleaning both the kitchen and the bathrooms multiple times a week (or at least we think, since we saw them clean more than once during our stay). But you have to remember that it's still an hostel and all the common areas are shared with other people, and you never know who you might end up living with! Talking about the staff, the people working here are all quite young, super kind, helpful and friendly! We had the chance to spend some time with a couple of them and we really had a fun time! They'll give you a hand if you need help with something and they organise a lot of fun activities during the weekend. The dormitories are well kept and they don't fell crowded at all (and we shared a dormitory with other 13 girls!). Point in favour: every bed has its own curtain that you can close to have some privacy! Really useful if you want some time and space for yourself. The general atmosphere of the place is chill and fun, it's really easy to meet other young travellers and make some new friends! We really, definitely, recommend this hostel for your days in Barcelona!

the stuff has horrible attitude their not friendly and it seems that they dont like people in general. the rooms are super crowded and the all place just reflect bad vibes, i recommend you all to find another hostel to stay at/

Very convenient to get to the main parts of city. My room bed had no sockets close though the Bed was comfortable enough with a curtain. There was a toilet next to our room and it was quiet enough with no disturbances. Plenty of sockets in the kitchen and chill out area for charging. Shareware shower area above the kitchen was clean enough and easy to use.
