This hostel is just amazing. Wonderful staff, nice atmosphere, super clean and comfy beds. We have spent 4 nights in this hostel and they organized different event each day. Everything is stylish with lot of nice interior design. I’ll be back again!

I would give 0 stars if I could. Pars Teatro Hostel decided to charge my card for random values before the arrival (which violated what I agreed when I booked) and when asked about those values, failed to answer the questions I had. On top of that, they decided to cancel my booking out of the blue 2 days before my arrival. Special highlight to Guiti and Arantza, the two staff workers who were extremely unpleasant via email, dodging all my questions about charges, threatening to cancel my booking and indeed cancelling my booking 2 days before my stay. They clearly have 0 experience dealing with customers and have no idea of the impact that pressing a button on their side to cancel a booking (because they got tired of my questions about their actions) has on someone's plans to travel to a different country. Worst experience I've ever had booking/buying something online.

Otherwise decent hostel ruined by customer service nightmare. I arrived at the hostel in the evening by bicycle, after a long day of riding. During check-in I asked the man at the counter if there would be a place in the hostel where I can store/lock my bike during my stay. It's quite a nice bike and I didn't want to leave it to the fate of the Barcelona streets. Bicycle storage has not been a problem any where else I stayed in my 2 months of traveling. I was told that the hostel owner has a strict no bikes policy - I should just lock it on the streets like everyone else. This is unfortunately not an option for me. My compromise solution was to take the bike apart and to put the parts in my bicycle travel bag. This way it would be more compact for storage and also technically now a piece of luggage and not a bike. The man at the counter was not thrilled about this, but was still understanding enough to let me store the bike bag in a hostel storage room (there was anyway plenty of space in the hostel for storage). This was all a bit annoying, and the dismantling took some time, but I thought we found a good solution. The real problem started the next afternoon. When I returned from the city, I was greeted by the man at the counter - "we need to get the bike out of here now! The owners saw on the video cameras that we stored your bike here and she is really angry!!!". He then followed up with a threat that they would kick me out of the hostel or call the police if I don't take the bike outside NOW. Needless to say, this is not the kind of stress I need on my vacation. He then agreed to let me leave the bike at the reception for a few minutes so that I can ask around in the neighborhood where I can store the bike. Thankfully I was able to beg some people at a local parking garage to let me lock the bike in their building, despite it only being for cars. When I came back (maybe 10 mins later) to the hostel, THE HOSTEL STAFF HAD PLACED MY VALUABLE BIKE UNLOCKED ON THE PUBLIC STREET, WHERE ANYONE COULD HAVE STOLEN IT. I have to admit that I lost my cool at this point and yelled at the hostel man. Sorry, but placing the property of your guests on public street without their knowledge or presence is not acceptable under any circumstances. In the end I don't blame the man at the counter for what happened and I think he was generally trying to help, but also worried about getting in trouble (if you are reading this, sorry again for loosing my cool!). It was clear that there is a very controlling owner somewhere in the background, who is not only actively surveilling the activities of the hostel by video, but also calling up and terrorizing the staff on a regular basis (I think she saw on video that my bike was at the reception and commanded the desk man to put it outside). To be honest the general vibe of the staff was one of oppression and fear. I have traveled to countries goverend by oppressive regimes and it really felt like that. Honestly. Staff are also apparently supposed to carefully track in the computer what the guests are doing. I bought a coffee in cash and they tracked this in the computer to my profile. I thought this was pretty creepy. SUMMARY: the hostel itself would be fine, but the owner runs it like an oppressive regime. Also they have no respect for guest property. EDIT: To the anonymous owner. Wow, I am actually astonished at the level of dishonesty in your comment. As I am posting here publicly with my real name, I feel obliged to respond. For the record: - I unfortunately didn't inquire ahead of time asking about bicycle storage. If I knew it would be a problem at your establishment, I would have gone somewhere else. There are literally hundreds of accomodations in Barcelona. - I also certainly didn't throw my bicycle in the common area. I am quite careful with it, hence me also not wanting to leave it on the streets. Really weird and slanderous accusation of yours. - "However, it's crucial to emphasize the importance of honesty in reviews.". I actually laughed out loud at this one.

Guy who cleans the room takes amazing care and does a great job. Also the girl working the front desk from Iran went above and beyond to help me coordinate my way to the airport and even came upstairs to make sure I woke up for my flight in time 😭❤️. She deserves a raise! On the other hand one the receptionist who I think may be russian or Slavic came over to the cutting board while I was cooking and very awkwardly took some of my lemon directly off my plate without asking 🙈. Strange behavior and slightly antisocial. Other than that amazing hostel that is clean, very central, well taken care of and those running the activities are very sweet and doing a great job!

very nice staff. great service . They will always help you with any question and clean rooms, a cozy kitchen where you can calmly prepare food and enjoy chatting with friends. Thanks to Igor the administrator who took the time to show me and my friends other places on the map to visit in Barcelona. I'm very glad to have such staff! best service!

I'm used to traveling and I already have some experience when it comes to hostels. But this one catches everyone's attention! With an artistic 🎭 and passionate decoration, very well located, young and cheerful spirit. Friendly and professional people. *At night we have an excellent and fun guide who takes us to the best parties and activities. I 100% recommend adventure 🤟.

The Pars Teatro Hostel has a serious security issue, thieves enter to the rooms when you sleep, and steal even your shoes or notebook, when you leave it charged over the night, be sure to lock the door from inside and lock all your belongings in the locker

It was an amazing place to stay in Barcelona. We spent 5 nights here and the guys working there were super friendly and helpful. Andres and Diego are the best guides to explore and understand Barcelona. We had an amazing experience because of them. Shout out to Diliyana as well. We will be forever grateful for their hospitality and friendship!!

Nice, chill hostel in a relatively good location. The bathrooms and rooms were cleaned every day. They organized a hostel dinner and an evening hiking trip over the few days I was there and they also have a WhatsApp group chat to keep people informed on activities or bar crawls.

Cute hostel with nice and unique interior design. The staff is friendly and helpful. I stayed in a room with other 3 people. Beds are comfy and new, with curtains and personal light. The washroom and common areas are clean and nice. Loved my stay :)

AVOID IT LIKE PLAGUE!!! During my first night in this cesspool, someone broke into my room and stole the shoes i left on the floor (yeah, expensive shoes), and a roommate of mine had his iPad stolen. When confronting the receptionists, the unpleasant girl behind the desk told me to just "deal with it" and claimed that she could not show me the camera recordings without permission from the police. That's quite sketchy, are you trying to cover up the burglar? What a crooked, wicked and obnoxious environment.

I had such an amazing stay at the Park Teatro Hostel, I’d recommend it to anyone visiting Barcelona for such a great central location and amenities! The staff were all so lovely, the receptionist who was working in the morning especially who let us store our luggage for the day and showed us a map around the area with things to do. The hostel was also kept super clean, the kitchen was equipped with a kettle, microwave and stove so everything we really needed! Only thing was the door to our dorm didn’t lock automatically, but the main entrance to the hostel is locked and controlled by reception 24/7 so we didn’t feel security was an issue :)

Had a very great stay in the Pars Teatro Hostel. The staff was so friendly and everytime there to help. The location was great and my sparking spot just 4 minutes away by walk. I really recommend to stay there. I just wanted to stay a few nights by decided to extend for a whole week. I think that says it all.

I had an amazing time during my stay at Pars Teatro Hostel. The location is fantastic, with its proximity to La Rambla, the Gothic Quarter, and the beach. The rooms and bathrooms were consistently clean, and the beds provided great comfort. The daily activities they arranged were a highlight for me as a solo traveler, offering a wonderful opportunity to connect with fellow guests. I'm definitely looking forward to returning in the future.

Decent hostel with kind and helpful staff. A bit small room with charger and light in every bed but without any table or shelf inside the room. The sheets were clean and the bathroom was fine. Very good location

The location of the hostel is perfect, very close to the Columbus monument. Lobby and kitchen were well-designed and picturesque. Beds were clean and comfortable, sockets are light switch are located above pillows. There was a separate WC for ladies. The receptionist ladies were so kind and helpful. They allowed to store luggages before check-in and after check-out. I definitely recommend it! :)

It is the perfect place if you are looking for a magical atmosphere, Parisian theater vibes, old literature and excellent treatment. As soon as you set foot in the entrance the atmosphere of the place consumes you with its majesty. Shot out to the receptionist Erwin was very kind and friendly. I hope to come back soon.

I really liked the hostel. It's small, cosy and nicely designed. The staff is amazing, family atmosphere and comfy beds. The only negative points. The shower runs very shortly, the common area was quite cool, the beds have plastic under the bedsheets which makes movements louder and assume it will make you sweat in summer, also there were no duvet covers, which I find a bit odd and maybe not super hygienic... depending on how often the duvets get washed but it seemed clean.

Came back to barcelona and stayed here again its just a really cool place and it brings people together with activities and all around friendliness from staff. There is curtains on the beds and also the mattress was memoryfoam and I slept like a log. I'd say it's the hostel I've ever stayed in on my travels around Europe. Il be back again for sure

Excellent location, close to public transport and the port (beach just a couple of minutes away by bus). Very nice rooms and staff, extremely friendly and welcoming environment. Elise especially was absolutely great! I highly recommend staying at this hostel. 10/10 :)

i am so glad I found pars teatro! I lucked out with this being my first solo travel hostel experience. it’s very cozy and comfortable, there’s a communal social feel and you really get to know other travelers in the common room and kitchen, who quickly become friends. i love the theme, it’s whimsical and playful and has lots of character which is so much more welcoming and delightful than other hostels/hotels I have been to. Brian and Erick are friendly and make you feel at home. Lots of shared laughs and jokes and conversations :) I came back to pars teatro because I feel so comfortable here and I love that it is so close the gothic quarter, which quickly became my favorite area in Barcelona. Really glad to have spent time here. Thank you pars teatro! Claire

The staff really make this a 5 star experience. Their friendliness and inviting attitude made the short stay very memorable for both myself and my friend. Shoutout to Brian from the front desk, what a G. Highly recommend.

Had an amazing time at Teatro. Brian at the front desk became a friend rather than just an employee. The staff puts a great deal of effort into your Barcelona experience. They take you out to a bar and a club every night with free entrance, which goes a long way in Barcelona. Erik, who works the night shifts, is always good for a game of chess as long as you don’t mind losing. Thanks Teatro!

Very cute hostel with a really interesting antique style. Rooms were clean and bedding was unusually comfortable!!! (Great pillow and thick bed comforter). Bathroom also had the adorable themed look and was spacious. Only slight downside was the walls were a bit thin and you could hear other visitors. 100% would recommend and stay again.

My experience at Pars Teatro was definitely one for the books! The service provided by the staff was great. They provided us with maps that were informative and then they also gave us helpful information and tips. We stayed in a basic 6 bed female dorm which was amazing for two female travelers. The facilities (bathrooms, kitchen, common room) were all great and clean. Even the other guests we meet while we were there were also very wonderful. The location was very central for us with the occasional long walks but there are many forms of transportation readily available. The hostel is very inclusive in its activities which was amazing for us who wanted to meet people far and wide. Air conditioning was available as long as someone was in the room and it kept us Americans nice and cozy. Overall, great experience and would HIGHLY recommend to anyone traveling who is young or solo.

The hostel is super comfortable but not as lively as you would expect a Barca hostel to be. The rooms needs some texture or color for they lack character. Their bathrooms are lovely though and squeaky clean. The housekeeper is beyond adorable. I regret not asking his name. He makes your day with his smile!
