The receptionist welcomed us very warmly. We had the opportunity to write via whatsapp or visit at any time with additional questions and concerns. Our trip was greatly helped by recommendations from Malika and Monika (staff) about places to explore. Our space was bright. It was a large, very modern room. The shower and toilet were in a tiny bathroom. The room had a sink. There was also a small fridge and TV in the room. We had a lovely balcony with chairs in our room. The balcony is a great place to enjoy a delicious breakfast in the early light. The location of the hotel was more convenient in the center. We recommend this place.

Incredible experience... The room was small but very comfortable and cozy. Impeccably clean and the reception was very attentive and friendly. The room exceeded expectations. I will definitely stay there again when I return to the city.

We were received very nicely at the reception. We were immediately given a city map with the most important information and we were allowed to come by at any time with further questions and concerns or write via Whatsapp. The room was sufficient and very modern. The bathroom was a bit small, with shower and toilet. The sink was in the room. For us, however, no disadvantage. Our room had a great balcony with furniture. In the morning the sun shines on the balcony and you can have an excellent breakfast there. The hotel is super centrally located. We would always choose the hotel again. Info: in the same building is a hostel with a similar name. Just look for the right name on the doorbell when you arrive. The reception is on the first floor on the right side.

We stayed there 3 nights with my girlfriend. Pros: Cheap, great location; good connection with bus & subway but we prefered to walk everywhere as you can reach most touristic spots in 20-25 mins by walk. There are nice restaurants just downstairs. Clean and has everything you need if you're not planning to spend all day in your room. Cons: It's probably converted from an apartment which was divided to couple of rooms and bathrooms are added later on. The bathroom door in the room is not very tight. So your partner will hear & smell whatever you're doing there. Therefore I asked my partner to leave the room when I needed the bathroom. Also, as the bathrooms are added later, there is new piping around, so whenever your neighbours use their toilet and flush, you'll smell & hear it if your window is open. Also the room has only one window which is looking to the hall so you have no direct sunlight. Don't get me wrong, you get what you pay for and I'd definitely stay again, but it can be improved.

Set in a spotless clean beautiful old building run by friendly staff with a spacious balcony central to everything, I highly recommend it to anyone contemplating a stay here.

A small bare bones hostel in the middle of the city. No bar to socialize at, but it had what we needed for a quick stay in the city. The staff were very friendly and gave us some good tips on what to see during our stay.

Perfect places to stay in the downtown Barcelona. 5 min walk to all metro stations nearby. Great hosts Carlos and Monica will make sure your stay is safe and most comfortable :) We had a real blast here. They know a lot about city so dont hesitate to ask them ;) My review would be 6 stars if i could do that ;) Gracias por todo Monica y Carlos! Hasta la vista amigos!

Great experience! Spent here 4 nights. Fantastic mattress, pillows, and customer service as well. Great location close to the main attraction. Little noise from the street but it is obvious if you are accommodated in the city center ;-). Next time we will choose this hotel again.

This place is cancelling bookings from people who reserved months ago because they saw the chance to rent 2x or 3x the price. Will communicate it to the authorities.

Beautiful house and cozy rooms. Great idea to separate bathroom and washbasin in an old house, with limited operational space.

Booked this hotel months in advance at a nice rate. Two months in advance, when the rates in Barcelona went up, they cancelled our booking. They said that we had a problem with our creditcard. Which seemed quite strange since we use this card daily and haven't run into a similar problem. But since we would like to keep our booking, we tried another working creditcard, but they said the second card also wasn't working. We checked with both creditcard companies and both cards work fine. Reading the comments on google maps we found out we were not the first ones this happened to. They seem to not honor the agreement and are willing to cancel bookings so they can rent the same room out at a higher rate. What makes it even more suspicious is that they tried charging our card two months in advance and didn't offer us an alternative means of payment. Whilst we were supposed to pay for the room only a week in advance. p.s. we are not the same as the reviews from four months ago. This review is regarding a booking of December 2022. It seems that multiple people have experienced this

It´s the best quality-price relation hotel in all Barcelona. Rooms has moder and very comfortable furniture and owners keep it clean and very familiar. Monica and her huisband make you feel very confident and they allways take care so every customer have an awesome staying :)

Perfect hotel! The staff was really nice and it was very very clean. The location was 10/10 - very close to everything (landmarks, bus stations, main streets and neighbourhoods). It was a little bit noisy but this is nothing compared to everything which was more than positive.

Hostal Central is my favourite place to stay in Barcelona! The hostal is beautifully decorated and SUPER CLEAN! It always feels like my home away from home and staff take care of guests like family. I highly recommend Hostal Central and its special magic to people of all ages.

DONT STAY HERE! My boyfriend booked this hostal 2 months in advance through booking.com. One week before our checking-in, the hostal had an issue with the credit card that we always use and even though they ensured us that there was no problem and it could be solved, they cancelled our reservation. The woman in the phone was extremely unhelpful. They clearly wanted to rent it out for more money to someone else. Horrible experience
