Bar del Pla has quite a reputation that it absolutely lives up to. Firstly, the staff are all fantastically welcoming and great at their jobs, you will feel taken care of even while waiting outside they'll make sure you have a drink to wait. The food is priced slightly higher than your average tapas bar but with good reason. Bar del Pla isn't an average tapas bar it is much more. I had the Sea Bass special which was cooked to perfection with a perfect tomato sauce. Id reccomend Bar del Pla to anyone! Keep in mind you may have to wait in line for a table and if you are in a group of more than two it's better to phone ahead for a reservation.

We stumbled upon this place, and we were lucky and early enough to get a seat. The food were amazing, very creative tapa! The mushrooms were a bit off(bitter) but they gladly took it off the bill and were apologetic about it. The beef was phenomenal.

Absolutely Amazing. Best food in the Gothic Quarter. Great Wines. Great modern takes on classics. Awesome staff. Small spot so large groups of 6+ will need reservations, but worth it. The photos show a few bites take for both. Mushrooms with Wasabi and Roast Meat Cannelloni. Also try the squash blossoms and beef tacos. Amazing all around!

Used to love this place but over time the plates got smaller (now tiny!) and the prices kept increasing so much that, at this point, it can only be classified as a tourist trap.

This was my second meal after arriving in Barcelona and it didn’t disappoint. We started off with a few beers followed by the best patatas bravas I’ve had in Spain. And we finished with an amazing oxtail with foie and some squid ink calamari with beans and some mussels. Very interesting and tasty meal, will definitely be back again!

Faultless on all counts, Bar del Pla is a welcome culinary surprise, boasting bright and bold favours. The gazpacho had brilliant top notes of slow roasted tomatoes, which served as a prelude to a rich alchemy of cucumbers, peppers and raspberries - an absolute respite amidst the Catalan sunshine. We also enjoyed the seafood stew, which had the perfect balance of freshness and umami. Service was brisk and the vibe’s hip and casual. Definitely worth many return visits. Muy bien!

Best tapas I’ve had in Barcelona!!! Oxtail sandwich and the mushroom wasabi sauce dish may be the best things I’ve eaten this whole year. I honestly can’t even believe how good the mushroom dish was - definitely not something I would usually eat or imagine enjoying but it was so good I ordered two! Highly recommend checking this place out.

When you're on vacation, is your goal to find the best foodie spot that only the locals know about? Well mission accomplished here, except everyone knows about it now! So get here early for delicious, inventive and high quality tapas, wonderful wine and friendly knowledgeable service. Great experience and overall lovely service and people working! We ordered most of the (non-fried) fish dishes which were delicious! They have several “exclusive” natural wines made for their restaurant in collaboration with vineyards in Cataluyna/area. We could have stayed for hours ordering more and more but as they seem to be a victim of their own success, we were asked to leave while still eating dessert.

We just managed to get a table before it filled up as we didn’t have a booking.. food was really delicious we have croquettes, beef cheek and the tripe - some of the best food we had all trip! The tapas were out of this world!!! The croquets were amazing and so was the beef stew with mushrooms. The tomato bread is a MUST. Amazing tapas restaurant, really outstanding. After 3 years living in Barcelona this might be the tapas place with the most original version of classics (and distinctive) and most delicious dishes.
