We went to Dr. Gargi when she was practicing in NIMHANS. She was practicing in the geriatric psychiatry department. One very important quality of someone treating depressive patients is their treatment towards them. In a premier government hospital with a huge footfall of patients, Gargi would patiently listen to my Mother in Law and talk back to her with a personal touch. This allowed my mother in law to open up more which in turn aided her diagnosis. Gargi also didn't over prescribe anti depressants (which was the case with our earlier doctor) and sleep medications. We still tele-consult her after her move to West Bengal. Her clinical mind is the exact opposite of her diminutive stature. Overall, she is a great doctor and an even better listener thatwthat allows for a conversationo which is a big part of the therapy. We are happy with the progress my mother in law has made in the last three years under Dr. Gargi's treatment.
