This is one of the historical places built by the then king of bardhaman, maharaj kirtichand. Before the mahatabmanjil was built, the palace of the king was in the Kanchannagar. Then the zamidars of Baroda amd Chitua captured the palace and tortured the princess, who committed suicide before murderimg one of the zamidars. Then the king took hos revenge and captured Baroda and Chitua and made 12 gates on behalf of the victory. But now only one is survived and the baroduari is that one.

A heritage site of this area. Historical landmark. One can read the inscriptions on this gate to get an idea of its age and importance. Closing the road under the gate and it's renovation has certainly given it a new lease of life. A must see for the guests visiting this area.

BaroDuyari or 12 Doors is one of the 12 and only remaining doors of its type. The old structure was more magnificent and authentic since it was ancient. They made it too modern after repair. Still a place very near to our heart and heritage. Local authorities should make some rules, so teenagers don't make a place to 24/7 hang out and ruin it's authenticity. It's a humble request.

Baro Duari Gate is a historical landmark in Bardhaman, West Bengal. It is a victory memorial that was built by Maharaja Kirtichand in the 14th century to commemorate his victory over the zamindars of Chitua and Baroda. The gate is made of red sandstone and is decorated with intricate carvings. It is a two-storey structure with a pyramidal roof. The ground floor has three arches, while the first floor has two arches. The gate is located in Kanchan Nagar, about 10 kilometers from Bardhaman city. The Baro Duari Gate is a popular tourist destination. It is also a protected monument under the West Bengal Heritage Commission. The gate is in good condition and is well-maintained by the Archaeological Survey of India. Here is my review of Baro Duari Gate: Pros: The gate is a beautiful and well-preserved example of medieval architecture. It is a significant historical landmark with a rich history. It is located in a peaceful and scenic setting. It is a popular tourist destination with easy access from Bardhaman city. Cons: The gate is not very well-signposted, so it can be difficult to find. There is no entry fee, so the gate can get crowded, especially on weekends. There are no facilities at the site, such as toilets or a canteen. Overall, I would recommend visiting Baro Duari Gate if you are interested in history and architecture. It is a beautiful and well-preserved monument that is worth seeing. Here are some tips for visiting Baro Duari Gate: Visit during the week to avoid the crowds. Allow at least 30 minutes to visit the gate. Wear comfortable shoes as there is some walking involved. Bring a camera to capture the beautiful architecture of the gate.

Baroduari refers to the twelve gates built by Maharaj Kirtichand. The palace of the king was originally in Kanchannagar till the Mahatab Manjil was built. The Zamindars of Baroda and Chitua captured the palace of the king of Bardhaman and tortured the princess who in turn committed suicide before murdering one of the zamindars. It was then that Maharaj Kirtichand took his revenge and captured Baroda annd Chitua and built twelve gateways to celebrate the victory. Only this gate has survived.

If you come here to visit you'll regret. It is not such a place to visit and spend time. You could gate some goll gappa here and other fast foods. This is just a big gate, that's all. Not so much of value.
