(Original) " সাত দেউল।।। " মন্দির! শুধুমাত্র ঈশ্বরের উপাসনা গৃহ হিসাবে নয়,স্থাপত্য ও শিল্প শৈলীর এক অনবদ্য সংমিশ্রণ হিসাবেই মন জয় করে এসেছে বহু মানুষের। বিভিন্ন ধরণের মন্দিরের সন্ধানে এখানে ওখানে ঘুরে বেড়িয়েছি এবং অবাক হয়েছি গঠন শৈলী দেখে। এবার ফিরে আসি যে মন্দিরের সম্পর্কে এই লেখায় হাত দিয়েছি। কোলকাতা নিবাসী হয়ে যাবার পর যখনই দেশের বাড়ি ফিরেছি দূর্গাপুর এক্সপ্রেস দিয়ে তখনই পালসিট টোল ট্যাক্স এর ঠিক আগেই ডান দিকের ধানখেতের ওপারে বাঁশ ঝাড় ও অন্যান্য গাছ গাছালির ফাঁক দিয়ে একটি মন্দিরের চূড়া গাড়ির কাঁচ ভেদ করে এই পাগল মনকে হাতছানি দিয়ে ডাক দিয়ে যেত। কিন্তু সময়ের অভাবে কোন দিন সে মন্দির দু নয়নের সামনা সামনি হয়ে ওঠেনি। হঠাৎ করে একটা সুযোগ হয়ে গেলো এক দিনের ঝটিকা সফরের, সঙ্গে সঙ্গেই মনের মাঝে খেলে গেল সেই অদেখা মন্দির চূড়োর ডাক। ইতিমধ্যে ফেবু পাড়ার দৌলতে ঐ মন্দিরের সম্পর্কে অল্প বিস্তর চেনা জানা হয়ে গেছে। আমরা কয়েক জন আত্মীয় ও বন্ধু বান্ধব মিলে সেই একই পথে যাত্রা শুরু করলাম কিন্তু উদ্দেশ্য সাত দেউল মন্দির। কলকাতা থেকে গঙ্গা পার হয়ে দূর্গাপুর এক্সপ্রেস ওয়ে ধরে ঘন্টা দেড়েকের মধ্যেই মশাগ্রাম এসে ডানদিকের মেমারী যাবার রাস্তা ধরে কিছু পথ এগিয়ে বাঁ দিকে খেতের মধ্যে দিয়ে পিচ্ কালো আঁকা বাঁকা রাস্তা দিয়ে এগুলেই কিছুখনের মধ্যেই সাত দেউল এর সামনে হাজির। এই পথে বাংলার গ্রাম্য পরিবেশ সঙ্গ দেবে আপনাকে। বিস্তীর্ণ সুসজ্জিত বাগানের মাঝে আমার বহু দিনের সাধের দেউল তার অদ্ভুত গঠন শৈলী নিয়ে যেন অপেক্ষমান সেই আনুমানিক খ্রীষ্টীয় দশম শতাব্দী থেকে। উড়িষ্যার রেখ দেউল আকারে এই মন্দির নির্মিত। ইষ্টক এই মন্দির নির্মাণের উপকরণ। পঞ্চরথ এর মত দেখতে এই সাত দেউল। দেউল এর প্রবেশ দ্বার ক্রমবর্ধমান খিলানযুক্ত, যা অনবদ্য এবং অনন্য। মন্দির দেহের কাজ সময়ের ভারে আজ অবলুপ্তির পথে হলেও এখন অবধি যা দৃষ্টমান তা মন ভুলিয়ে দেবার জন্য যথেষ্ট। অবাক লাগে এই সাত দেউল এ দেবতার অনুপস্থিতি। মন্দির সম্পর্কে সাধারণত যা বোঝায় তার থেকে এই ধরণের মন্দির একেবারেই আলাদা প্রকৃতির, অনেকটা মিনার প্রকৃতির। ভালো লাগে এই মন্দির ভারত সরকারের পুরাতত্ত্ব বিভাগের অধীনস্ত হবার দরুন সুরক্ষিত বলে। তবে মন্দির চত্বরে আমাদের ব্যবহৃত প্লাস্টিক পরে রয়েছে বাগানের আনাচে কানাচে, একটু সচেতনতা আর মানসিক ইচ্ছাই একদিন নিশ্চয় প্লাস্টিক মুক্ত সবুজ পৃথিবী উপহার দেব নতুন প্রজন্মকে।।।।

This place is a good tourist attraction. Contains a major architecture of ancient India. The "Sat Deul" temple with it's amazing park/garden is a tranquil and amazing place to spend time. Also suited well for photography,vlogging,exploring,etc.

(Original) খুব সুন্দর পরিবেশ,কিন্তূ খুব দুঃখ লাগলো দেউল টাকে দেখে। স্থানীয় পঞ্চায়েত বা বি.ডি.ও যদি এই স্থানটিকে দেখভালের দায়িত্ব নেই তাহলে খুব সুনাম পাবে।এবং পর্যটকরা খুব ভালোভাবে উপভোগ করবে জায়গা টিকে। আগের থেকে অনেক খারাপ লাগলো দেউল টিকে,ও বাগান টিকে। বাগানের গাছ গুলো সব মরে যাচ্ছে জলের অভাবে।বাচ্চারা গাছ পালার ক্ষতি করছে দেখলাম। প্রশাসনের কাছে অনুরোধ জায়গা টিকে সুন্দর করে তুলুন।

A mediocre place to visit during week end. Quiet place , simple garden.....

Good place to go for a short trip from Kolkata,the garden is very well kept. We were said that videography isn't allowed inside the temple complex.

This is a beautifully constructed 10th century temple which resembles the Odisha art pattern of rekh. This temple is situated in Memari-I C.D. Block. The exterior walls of Sat Deul contains elaborate brick work decoration of floral and geometric patterns, sadly most of it has been lost. Nothing much is known about the history of the temple. However, some of the Jain designs on the walls indicate that it was possibly a Jain temple.
