Undoubtedly the best that we can say... the place is really very beautiful and its pretty well maintained as well. The staff working here are very polite and the best thing is the food. The price for everything is quite reasonable and this should be in your bucket list of places to visit. I will definitely come back. Just to let you know they even wake you up with a man playing flute outside your room

A great place for a staycation with friends & family. We stayed here for two nights during our first anniversary & the experience was truly amazing. The palace is well maintained & food was delicious. First night we stayed in the cottage & the second night we stayed in a room within the palace (Borda). They don’t allow day trips. Hence, do prior booking before visiting here.

Marvelous place. I have visited this place twice (once in 2019 and again in 2021) and will surely visit again. Food is finger licking good. Hospitality is top notch. Ambience is superb. Heritage and elegance with best quality. Always make sure that you stay in main building, not in mud huts. Experience Bengali tradition with royal touch. A must visit place.

One of the best weekend getaways you can get. Magnificent rooms combined with delicious food, your stay will be worthwhile. This place is for them only who want to get the taste of a royal and heritage place overnight. Efforts of management and all the people work there are worth mentioning, they always tried their best to make our stay more comfortable. The special guided tour of the rajbari is worth mentioning, it will surely take you back to those ages.

It's located near Khanyan station of bardhaman main line train. A very well maintained property and they are very strict and disciplined about their rules and policies. food is very good. Price is a bit on the higher. Better to visit during winter.

Location: 10mins by toto from Khanyan station (Burdwan main line, after Bandel). Ambience: Very well maintained Rajbari. Every corner was spic and span, staff starts washing the floors from early morning, the ceilings are dusted every day. I stayed in Jatha Moshai at Rs 2800 incl GST, and it was very clean. The bed had a comfortable mattress, clean white bedsheet, the blanket had a washed clean white cotton cover. The bathroom was small but clean and well maintained. The geyser was working well, the taps worked perfectly. Complimentary toiletries were given. Two clean white towels were given. A hand towel was also given. Electric Kettle was in the room. Two 500ml mineral water bottle was given, along with a bottle of filtered water. There was an Aquaguard on the same floor, so you can fill your waterbottle whenever you want. However, there were a few mosquitos in the room, and I had a disturbed sleep in the night. Though there was a liquid mosquito repellant machine but it was not effective. Service: There is no room service at all. The service in the dining room was very good, extremely polite, very prompt, hospitable. The Manager of the Rajbari office was humble, very pleasant, and polite. Food: The highlight of the stay, just fabulous! The food package is Rs 550 for vegetarian thali lunch, next morning bed tea, and next morning breakfast. Nonveg items are to be ordered separately at a cost, and dinner is also ordered separately. Excellent Bengali food, every item whether breakfast or main meal or snacks were made with love and care. Tasty food, all vegetarian items were unlimited and the staff would ask repeatedly about second servings. Attraction: The free guided tour of the Rajbari at 4.00pm was very nice, the guide was energetic and informative about the history of the Rajbari. The evening arati at the Rajbari Natmandir was a beautiful experience. Overall, a wonderful stay, can be visited more than once. Highly recommended!

We went on 15th august,2021 without prior booking. Then didn't even allow us to enter inside to talk how to make the booking. Management is the worst part here. They misbehaved with other people as well infront of us. Also we got a number from Google and called them immediately. Even if you are staying nearby they will force you to take a room there and then they will make booking to visit. And its too costly to afford. There are two packages - Day package and night package without food. Below details- Day package - 3300/room for 5 people And it doesn't include lunch. Lunch will be provided by them with extra charges (500/person) Night package - i didn't enquire regarding this as it is too costly. I'll recommend to go there after successful bookings and also vaccination certificate is mandatory. You can see the poster in the gate which i have uploaded.

You can only visit this place if you have booked yourself a stay here otherwise not. This information is not known to many people. The place is indeed beautiful with a lush green garden and antique items however it should be open to day to day visitors. There's an old Bougenvillia tree in the left corner of the building which is very beautiful. So if you are visiting here keep this information in mind.

It was a great experience staying at this old, Zamindar house amidst 18th century decor and food. We booked a room prior going there as it was pretty heavily booked. The room rent consisted with complimentary breakfast and we also had our lunch and dinner over there. In the afternoon, we had a guided tour of the Palace and in the evening we enjoyed the Arati and Muri telebhaja with flute music. The entire experience was priceless.

An excellent and royal stay in the magnificent palace of Itachuna! The rooms were large, clean and well decorated. We had booked Ginni ma and Boro maa rooms. The food served were really awesome, in traditional Bengali style. Both quality and quantity of food served were excellent. One can enjoy the Sandhya aarati in Thakur dalan, live flute performance in chaa Ghar during evening and morning tea breaks and also a guided tour inside the royal heritage palace. Overall one of the best weekend trip I have ever spent!!

Excellent food and hospitality. If you are planning for a day stay trip it's the best. Now they do not allow for a day trip only without stay. I stayed for a day and it's awesome. We booked for top room boro boudi and thakuma it's really good. The property is well maintained. Food you have to book a bit early. Authentic Bengali food with good quality. If you are going via car it will take 3 hr max from Kolkata, Road is not bad. Near rajbari it's narrow but you can easily go via car. Train is also an option. From kanyan station you can get Toto. If needed call rajbari they will guide you. In one word we had the best stay and vacation

Undoubtedly one of the best places for weekend trips in West Bengal. The food is delicious. You will get a welcome drink after arriving and the best part is the aarti in the evening. The guide gives a tour in the evening and after that the aarti starts. Good ambience and service is also good. This is actually a jamidar bari/zameendar bari, not exactly rajbari. This place looks magical at night. Highly recommended place.

Excellent food. Willing hosts. Rigid timings. Reasonably good amenities. The rooms need revamping and repairs. Dampness in rooms on ground floor. Lot of effort is visible and there are many pluses. Old heritage furniture and ethnic food are a novel experience.

If ask me honestly i will say its nothing only if to waste money any body can avail. In no way it is worth spending so much money. the room is just ordinary like in olden days room but the ambience is ok still i dont feel to stay for one night to have nice ambience. Better ambience are there in lots of places where the cost is less. However it is my perception and i am not happy at all

Itachuna Rajbari a heritage property situated near Khanyan station in Hooghly district. Staying in the rajbari will give you a royal feeling. We visited to the rajbari on 13.08.2023 on my husband's birthday. We stayed in Choto Pishi's room. The decor, the furniture, the corridor will take you to the classical times. The vibes, the vintage looks of the rajbari gave us the goosebumps. We were overwhelmed with the service of the staffs. The authentic bengali cuision served in the "kasar thala" Is something awesome. The quality and quantity of the food is also notable. In the evening they took us for a guided tour of the rajbari. The guide was entertaining😎. After the rajbari tour we went for "Sandhya Aroti". The music played by the village people on the time of the Arati attached me to the God closely. The " Bashir Sur" Was mind impressive. One need to prebook room before visiting the rajbari, and also need to make full payment of the room. Last but not the least a perfect one day staycation with family, friends or partners is highly recommend

We visited during the weekend. It's a wonderful Rajbari with lot of amazing history. You can smell history in each and every corner of the house. Now let me talk about my experience. I enjoyed my stay a lot. Though I stayed for few hours only. I could feel the calmness while sitting in thakurdalan. We took lot of pictures. They maintained the rooms quite well. Air conditioned, neat and clean. Toilets are also very clean. Coming to food, food is awesome. One will keep on licking fingers. Food presentation is wonderful. To come here you have to do prior booking by calling them. Remember no spot visit allowed. They don't have day packages kind of thing. But if you really want to come here for day visit then also you have book a room Or else you cannot enter the property. My overall experience is great. Will definitely visit again.

The place is very beautiful. Anyone can spend one day holiday in the rajbari. The ambience is very good. They maintain the rajbari beautifully. It is well decorated. The food in the rajbari is sarved in brass dish, brass or earthen pot glass. The foods are very much tasty and the quantity is also sufficient. Overall it is a very good place for one day holiday near Kolkata.

An amazing place for experiencing a royal bengali weekend. An old rajbari that gives you a perfect feel of royalty. The rooms here are so well maintained, the entire place is very well maintained. You will get booking details, room tarrifs on their official website. You can directly call them for enquiry. All details available on their website. Coming to the food that was served during lunch, it was one of the best lunch inhad in along time. Perfect bengali thali served with mouth watering mutton. In evening they serve snacks and chai. You can enjoy the same in their Cha Ghar. They also arrange a small program where local artists come and present their crafts like dancing and singing etc. Don't miss the Shondhya Arti in the Punor Dalan. You can spend a whole day roaming in the nook and corner of this enormous Rajbari with your friends and family. Much recommended place.

Itachuna Rajbari is a symbol of a historical background, suitable for tasting the joys of temporary royal life by removing the drag of life, the solitude of the night, the gloomy mahal, your light zodiac sign can bring a little sadness, but the awakening of friends is a miracle free.Environmentally remarkable. You will be entertained only in the morning, at noon and in the restaurant of Rae, its ultimate moment is your own. One day the solitary islander is fluent in favor of the king

The Itachuna Rajbari was built by the ancestors of Shri Safallya Narayan Kundu in 1766. Centuries-old 'rajbaris' or palaces of West Bengal are objects of absolute intrigue and fascination. The Kundu family-owned Itachuan Rajbari, rich in heritage and history, is one such opulent structure in the Hoogly district. Popular Bollywood film Lootera was shot here thereby increasing the popularity of the place!

Staying in Rajbaris can always be fascinating due to their grandeur structure, rich history and cultural past. To experience a royal staycation, me and my sisters planned a weekend gateway to Itachuna Rajbari. The Rajbari is a perfect blend of vintage and urban décor. We booked Boro Maa and Mejo Maa, the rooms are next to each other with a private seating area, couch and a mini fridge. It’s a suite in itself. The rooms are very well maintained and cleaned. It was a blissful one-day experience to stay in the rooms having well-furnished antique furniture with modern amenities, savour royal-styled Bengali food, cherish the long corridors, courtyard, and art gallery, stroll around the colourful gardens, feel the sacred ambience of the Sandhya Arati, enjoy a musical evening by a flutist, shop handmade jewellery, apparel, and clay products from Prochesta (a shop inside the Rajbari) and of course click beautiful pictures.

Beautiful place to visit. The complimentary guided tour at 4 pm is very highly recommended. The rooms are very clean and they carry the essence of that rustic and antique feel of the older and simpler times. Be it with a group of friends or just a couple’s stay either way can be enjoyable. Food is also excellent quality. Staff is very helpful and will take care of your comfort. In the evening there is a live flute performance at the are where tea and snacks is served which is not to be missed. 10/10 would recommend a day’s stay.

Comfortable stay with royal essence, away from the busy life and polution of urban life, this place is breath of fresh air. You'll learn about the history of Kundu family which originated from far Maharashtra. Food here served with authentic Bengali cuisine. But I'll advise you to stick with veg items. They prepare it better. Perfect weekend destination with moderate budget.

This place is over rated. Simply nothing to recommend any other person to visit the place.Specialy in summer because they used to switched off A.C. from 6p.m. to 8p.m. when u return from the so called hisorical walk for 2 hours. And also at 8 a.m to 10a.m. before ur check out time. They only serve lunch and dinner in decorative way, that's all. Service, hospitality is zero. Very much disappointed to visit the place

Itachuna Rajbari one night stay: 1. Excellent ambience with a very nice guided tour of the house. Some part of the house has a haunted feeling at night. Had nice bonfire experience with a large group. 2. Food decorations were done well but the combination of menu items were not right and could NOT be modified as the package had fixed menu. Lot of food is wasted which could have been avoided if the menu is made more flexible and a la carte or buffet instead of fixed package. 3.There is NO room service available ( except for the morning tea) . Considering the wide area of the house, old people may face issue to commute from room to the dinning room with lot of ups and downs even in the same floor. Room service should have been available based on situation. 4. Checkout time was too strict (10 am) and difficult for those who are staying for one night. 5. The worst experience we had was that, in one of our rooms ( Borda) at first floor there were severe electrical connection issue which caused electric shock in the bathroom tap. We found a copper wire was kept open which was touching the metal tap. If the boarder did not realise this before using it, this could have turned into a dangerous disaster. Would request authority to take serious action against this and make sure this kind of issues are addressed before handing over the room to boarder.

It is in Khanyan. But you can also go from Pandua too. Toto takes 10/- each for the place. It's made on 1766 by Ram Kundu Mahasoy. For general people it opens everyday from 4pm to 6 pm. Otherwise you can book for guest house at online to stay at this Rajbari and enjoy the feelings of Raja and Maharaja. Infront of this Rajbari there is Mahadev mandir. It's not well maintained. Should take care of this area as an heritage.

It is located in Hoogly district of WB, nearby Railway Station is Khannan, just 4 Station away from Bandel Jn towards Burdwan. Itachuna Rajbari is well connected to Khannan Railway Station by auto rickshaw and e-rickshaw which takes 10 minutes to reach the destination. Though old, all the rooms (13 nos) are well maintained and have renovated attached bathroom. These rooms as well as 4 nos cottages can be booked by calling the mobile numbers listed in their website (googled for more information). The best part of staying here is the hospitality and meals.

It's an out of box experience , perfect for a family vacation. The ambience is extraordinary and they have successfully preserved the Heritage. With a commendable management , the food is completely healthy and full of taste; will remind you the food cooked by grandmothers. The owners are basically from Maharashtra , who settled in Bandel after Bargi attack in Bengal . With the flowing time they adopted Bengali culture and living and converted their surname to Kundu from Kundan . From the religious front they were the worshipper of Lord Shiva . As a result there is a Shiv temple near the palace . Now as per Bengal tradition , the Kundans have adopted Vaishnav followings. There is a gorgeous Radha Krishna temple just at the entrance . The Festivals celebrated inhouse are Holi and Durga Puja . The rooms are beautifully decorated with traditional furnitures and reflect a serene beauty . There are attached veranda to the rooms . For entertainment there is a TT board , carom board. You can go for fishing as well. If you are planning to visit the place, book the rooms beforehand to avoid last minute rush . And don't miss the mutton . It's one of a kind . I would request e everyone to understand and respect the Heritage and culture and please do not act irresponsible that can damage the building and the furnitures . It takes a lot of effort from many dedicated people to preserve this . Please also remember to respect them as practically you are staying in someone's home and it's not a hotel . Overall I had a memorable experience and would like to visit again in near future . Kudos to the extremely well behaved staffs for their hostage and warm welcome

The room we took for a family of 6 (bilash manjari) was spacious and luxurious with an attached verandah cum seating area overlooking the garden. It was actually 2 rooms which are offered together. The food was very good, especially the veg dishes offered in the thali. Fish and prawn could have been better. The staff is very polite and will do all to ensure that you have a great experience. The thali portions are a bit overwhelming by the sheer number of dishes which we found to be too much. The couple of downsides we thought was restricted timings of b/f lunch and dinner and there is also no room service whatsoever.

Without prior booking entry is not allowed. Offline booking is not available. Gatekeeper of the Rajbari said, " it's not a place to visit, it's a guest house only." The Rajbari authority don't bother for those who just want to visit the place and don't want to stay there .

The room boro boudi is nice though the washroom doesn't have any form of ventilation. Food is tasty but pricey. You don't have any option than to take their food. In the evening some program should be arranged else nothing to do. For 1 night stay it's okay away from the hustle of the city. Guided tour of the mansion is nice.

I went for a 3 days-2 nights' trip with my family. We had two rooms (Boro Pishi for 3 and Chhoto Boudi for 2). Considering the high charges of the place, the rooms and services were average. The Boro Pishi room was supposed to accommodate the 3 of us. But it was actually a double bedroom where they had thrown in an extra cot right in front of the bathroom for the third guest. The Chhoto Boudi room for 2 was in fact bigger than Boro Pishi. So idk why that is meant for two people. There was a foul smell coming from the washroom of the Chhoto Boudi room all day and night. We asked the management to look into it, or change the room. They refused, citing the lack of available rooms. So we stayed on with the foul smell, wearing masks even when we went to sleep. Another weird thing enforced by the administration is that you CANNOT go out once you are within the property. They close the gates and you feel like a prisoner in the premises. There is not much to do within the property, except for strolling around and clicking pictures. After a point you feel like going out in the fields for some fresh air. The only good thing about our stay was the food. It was piping hot, fresh and delicious. Mostly Bengali delicacies which were delectable.

The Rajbari is a typical 18th century zamindari style home with 3 mahals. It is now a tourist place where you can stay overnight and also for day trip. The food is good. You can visit for a feel of zamindary style decor and feeling. One of the main attractions of this place is a temple dedicated to Sri Sridhar Jiu, a form of Sri Hari / Vishnu which is still elaborately worshipped three times a day.

We have travelled around 100 kms to reach there.. but there is no entry. After corona pandemic they are not allowing anyone to enter inside the premises. Only you can enter if you have booked any suite there .. and if you book to stay there you cant go outside as per the local people. So, before going there confirm everything about the place..

Recently we visit ITACHUNA RAJBARI at Hoogly district neatest Khanyan. It's a very good place for a short/ weekend trip. Every room stay as it was. Every person here is very polite and helpful. Food quality is beyond Excellency. Every evening guide told the history of this Rajbari. Exactly it's not rajbari, it's a zamindar bari, who came from Maharashtra. Originally they were Kundan, and they worship SHIVA. But after some time they became boishnab and took the title Kundu. Till now Shiva temple is there but no-one pray there. But God Vishnu Mandir is inside the Rajbari and every morning and evening priest pray there. We both, me and my husband, enjoyed a very happy and memorable trip here.

Enjoyed immensely staying overnight at a 350 year old heritage homestay with the old world feel of the furniture, old style roof, crockery, family member named rooms and the make-you-feel-at-home behavior of staff. No spooky stuff though.

A sneak peek into the yesteryear's glory.. Truly live like a king.. Get mesmerized into the history of the Marathas in Bengal.. their conversion into true Bengalis.. The absolutely pure and homely food.. the melody of the flute.. And above all the hospitality of a palace!

The place is worth your time and money, they have a touring service every evening which tells you the history which other Rajbari dont generally have. Food is really excellent with personal touch from the owners themselves and they have different choices for each kind. Do ensure to come with your group so you enjoy the resort

Nice experience for a weekend trip! I would recommend it to those people who love old world charm and like to explore the bygone era!

Very nice experience. 2h journey from Kolkata. The staffs are well behaved. Food price is reasonable. There are lot of games to play and a evening tour of the property with a guide. Flutes are played twice a day which feels heavenly. Most importantly the guards are doing a brilliant job by not letting trespassers inside without a booking. Thus they help maintain the serenity of the place.

Good place to spend a night, the guided tour across the mansion in the evening gives a better understanding about the history of the place. Food is good only thing is it is a bit expensive. Overall a good one night getaway

Amazing! Food, ambience, feel, service; everything was excellent. Staffs were very well-behaved, Mutton was mouthwatering, Rajbari tour was also good. We stayed at Borda (room no. 20), which has a great location. Only thing which didn't meet our expectation was the size of the room (may differ from room to room). But in case of Borda, the washroom is bigger than the bedroom, though it's nice. Overall experience 5/5, recommended for 1-night tour.

Itachuna rajbari is about 75km drive from Kolkata. It is a 200 year old building that was converted to a resort around 2012. The resort is well maintained and the food which is themed on the food served to Bengals kings and zamindars is excellent. There are about 12 rooms and pre booking is mandatory. There is a guided tour of the property every evening that is very interesting. Overall it is a good place for a one night family outing

A beautiful place to spend some quality time. There is a royal feeling there. The place is very calm, quiet and close to nature. There is also a facility to stay there and enjoy the royal lifestyle. It is a perfect destination for a half-day tour or overnight stay.

It was an absolutely enthralling and amazingly authentic experience of royal traditions of the bygone era but in a very comfortable modernized format. Food was out of the world from choices available to taste to presentation. The staff at the dining hall were very caring and under the leadership of Mrs. Pravati Bakshi, everything was taken care of with the highest standards of perfection. Rooms were very comfortable, clean, and very well maintained. Mr. Dipankar Majhi took good care of our requests. Mr. Kalyan Kumar Jash and Mr. Abhijit Bakshi at the office were also very helpful in sharing good information about the Rajbari as well as the surrounding area. The checkin and checkout process was very smooth. We loved the evening tour, the puja at the Rajbari Mandir in the evening , tea and snacks at Cha Ghar (charges nominal and you pay this on spot). In totality it was a loving experience which helps you to get away from the hustle and bustle of Kolkata and enjoy the charms of another era in the modern times true to the zamindari style. Keep up the good work, Itachuna Rajbari team!!

😠 This location, and specially the mark-up, causes all the nuisance at this serene village. People from all around, having no sense of manner/civics/respect or anything will show up on those specific days, blowing high decibels through their f**king a**h**es, and will turn the place into a hell.
